Raglans Restaurant in The Vale of Glamorgan

Food is good and at a reasonable price, especially for a restaurant. The only reason that let's this restaurant down is the price for drinks. It is the same as ordering another meal. Very, expensive, which put me off eating here again.

We found the Raglands restaurant in the Copthorne Hotel to be dull ,disorganised, and disappointing for our evening meal. The choice on the menu was very limited. I never imaged that this hotel or any other hotel - The Copthorne is primarily a business hotel, would not have steaks (beef or otherwise), nor fish. the only chicken was a curry. Also there was no wine list. No dessert list either. The harassed waiter had to check what was available , although he omitted to tell us the cost. The red wine (Aussie shiraz) was excellent Come on guys get your act together. Breakfast, however, was very good, with particularly helpful staff.

Gluten Free Weekend Visiting Cardiff for the Coeliac UK food show we decided to stay over at the Copthorne Hotel. We decided to have our evening meal in the restaurant. The waitress didn't have a clue about Gluten Free so I presume it was the head waiter assured us which items on the menu that was GF and safe. Lasagne was ordered, it was brought to our table so we asked which one was GF. I will have to check she said. The head waiter came over and said he was extremely sorry and it appears the Lasagne wasn't GF. Can't believe in this day and age they are so unsympathetic and ignorant and laid themselves open to being sued. Pleased we didn't eat it and then had to suffer the consequences.

Al visitar Cardiff para el show de comida celíaca del Reino Unido, decidimos quedarnos en el hotel Copthorne. Decidimos cenar en el restaurante. La camarera no tenía ni idea de Gluten Free, así que supongo que fue el jefe de camareros que nos aseguró qué elementos del menú eran GF y seguros. Lasaña fue ordenada, fue traída a nuestra mesa, así que preguntamos cuál era GF. Tendré que comprobar que ella dijo. El jefe de camareros se acercó y dijo que lo sentía mucho y parece que la Lasaña no era GF. No puedo creer en este día y edad que son tan antipáticos e ignorantes y se exponen a ser demandados. Complacido no lo comimos y luego tuvimos que sufrir las consecuencias. Ten en cuenta?

La comida podría haber estado más caliente. Buena selección de frutas, cereales y desayuno cocinado. No se permiten pasteles, cruasanes a las 9 a.m., aunque el desayuno se sirve hasta las 10 a.m. Jugos de frutas muy acuosos. La máquina de capuchino no funciona.

Porciones de buen tamaño, buena variedad de comida que se ofrece desde sándwiches, papas a la chaqueta hasta bistecs bien presentados y sabrosa, Zena camarera muy agradable.

Éramos tres adultos que cenamos una noche en los Ragland. La comida era deliciosa y el servicio era perfecto! Recomendaría altamente

Visité este restaurante llamado Raglans en el Hotel Copthorne, Cardiff, para el almuerzo del domingo con un grupo de amigos. Bonito comedor grande, bien equipado con vista al lago. . . El personal es agradable y la mesa, bellamente tendida, con ropa de mesa blanca y vidrios brillantes, PERO . . La comida fue extremadamente decepcionante. . . muy pobre . Las verduras estaban tan duras que podía cortar las zanahorias o las patatas asadas. . . Me gusta Al Dente Veg, pero estos estaban totalmente poco hechos. . . Se añadió un enorme pudín de Yorkshire a todos los platos de carne. Comí pollo y no aprecié esto. ¿Suele ser un acompañamiento a la carne de res seguro? . . . solo uno de nuestro grupo de 7 comió el pudín de Yorkshire y ella porque su carne no era comestible. . . fibrosa y fría. . . muy pobre por cierto. Ella le habló a la camarera, pero dijo que lo pasaría pero que nadie vino a investigar. El pudín de melocotón se desmoronó. Un almuerzo muy decepcionante cuando The Manor Park. . The Beech Tree y The New House hacen fabulosos asados los domingos. No volveremos a visitar Raglans en el Hotel Copthorne en Cardiff. . . cambia el chef por favor. . .

had Christmas day lunch here, sad to say never again three-course meal took over three hours to arrive at the table and the main meal was cold gave up and left

The food here was really lovely. The staff were very friendly and chatty. We went for breakfast, it was a buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice, hot and cold food available. There is seating over looking the lake which is lovely. The drinks were included in the buffet breakfast. I have rated it a four star as I do believe it's a bit overpriced for a buffet breakfast. It was a lovely restaurant though and I would definitely visit again.

Ate here twice, once was breakfast and then dinner. Old fashioned, service was slow and not enough staff, breakfast wasn’t great quality. Food was same as the bar food, limited selection and choice

Llegamos tarde, el servicio fue bueno.Pedí el cordero y la cebada perlada y mi esposa pidió el salmón. Ambas porciones eran enormes, y probado increíble. Hemos pagado mucho más por mucho menos (cantidad y sabor) Excelente relación calidad-precio.Felicitaciones al Chef

While staying at the Copthorne Hotel we ate at the restaurant often. Limited menu but every item we tried was very good.

Excellent food and Service Rib-eye Steak done it a T best steak taste and quality I have had for a long time .

They need more staff. Tables grubby. Food ok. Breakfast expensive. Dessert given to us, spoons after, in forks.. It was supposed to be a la carte???

Tenía la opción de menú que era pieminister popular, alrededor de tres opciones vegetarianas disponibles del resto de menú. El servicio era un poco lento, pero nos ofrecieron una enorme ensalada gratis como uno de nuestros nuestras opciones de menú había acabado. Jarra de agua helada siempre agradable.

Volgende keer ga ik naar een pub in de buurt. Het restaurant is een beetje onpersoonlijk en het was er koud. Daarnaast kan de bediening ook wel beter.

We had Sunday lunch last week. As we are not big eaters, we had the children's portion which was ample. All was good and hot.

Creo que el personal puede ser un poco inexperto, ya que no estaban ofey con el menú y generalmente desorganizado. Mi primer plato era en el mejor de los tibios, y el principal un poco reservados en las verduras. La principal originalmente ordenados no estaba disponible, aunque no me dijeron que hasta después de que había pedido. Fue la única oferta principal vegetariano, así que es un buen trabajo que no soy vegetariano!

No me puedo quejar de la comida en Raglans fui con algún tipo de tarta de queso para empezar, seguido de una crema brulée Gnocchi y que eran todos muy bien presentados y bastante bueno, pero mi dios, el ambiente deprimente en Bramall Lane es peor que en un mal día.

Solamente el desayuno ya que estaba cerrado por la noche. Hemos comido aquí anteriormente y es de primera categoría. Los precios son muy bueno comparado con muchos de sus competidores.

Functional dining room with predictable, reasonably prepared food, but otherwise nothing special. Good service, although a bit slow between courses.

Staff not fully aware of the menu leading to wrong/incomplete dishes being brought to the table. Restaurant temperature too low.

We had breakfast in here and it was soggy and greasy. Dirty dishes on tables. I actually put my fork into a link sausage and it literally squirted grease on the table - honestly! Service was slow. Toaster covered in crumbs and the orange juice was finished and not replaced when we were there. White table covers covered in splashes and spillages. For the money we paid not a great place at all. Our next visit to wales involved us going to the Premier Inn in Barry (see my review) and it was so much better. Breakfast was 100 times better in Premier Inn.

Served cold food. Soggy hash browns. No chef cooking fresh eggs. Less selection than previous stays.

Tasty and sufficient in quantity. Looked as if chef cared with food. Nothing overcooked although 35 minute wait seemed a touch slow.

Used Raglans whilst staying at the Cardiff Copthorne. Probably wouldn't choose it for a night out, but it was quite adequate for a stopover dinner. Service was good. The menu comprised half a doxen starters, mains and 3/4 desserts. There was one vegetarian option each as a starter and main. We were disappointed at the low level of vegetables, and the sticky toffee pudding felt a little 'convenience food' type, but it was hot and palatable.

I am staying at the Copthorne, and I have eaten here a couple of times out of convenience. The food is very highly priced for what it is, and not great tasting. certainly acceptable, but nothing to shout about.

Good food, good service, a tad pricey though. A slightly bigger menu could help along with some attention to the very noisy and annoying banging kitchen doors!

ate at reglans restaurant in the copthorn hotel and i have honestly no idea how they've won awards with what we were presented. shamefully priced and food was sent back for being over cooked. 'homemade' deserts were in fact hideous mass produced, flavourless fluff. beyond disappointing.

we had the special menu for valentines day. There was a choice of starters, main course and desert. I had the asparagus to start which was very tasty, the beef for main was tender and well presented and the desert was every womans dream. The restaurant serves a variety of excellent wines.

Delicious breakfast with lots to choose from. Fresh eggs cooked by a chef. All tastes catered for.

The food was quite good. The service was OK. Prices are quite high for what you get and I wouldn't make a special journey to eat here again. We ate here as part of an overnight package and had a £50 restaurant credit, so on that basis it represented excellent value!

Stylish dining room overlooking the lake. Quality of food is superb and the service from staff is excellent. Much better quality than the usual "hotel chain" fodder. Highly recommended
