What a fabulous place to eat! Myself and 2 of my children had a walk along the old Railway track and wanted a place to eat. We saw this as we parked up, I was aware of the premises in its previous guise as The Railway Tavern but they've done a wonderful job of the transformation. Food was tasty Service was excellent Staff were friendly Cost was very reasonable I've told everyone I've seen today that they should try it if they're in the Woodhall Spa area

Xmas 3 course lunch for a party of 29 seated over 5 tables My first visit but several others go for brekkie regularly Surpassed my expectations. Clearly a popular place as was already busy when we arrived. Our tables were all nicely set up with Xmas Dec and crackers. Once everyone was there service began. Our food was already pre ordered Service was excellent and very quick, within minutes everyone had their first course. Nicely presented Plates were not cleared until everyone had eaten, which is how it should be Main course was again served to all tables swiftly. Food was plentiful. Veg served separately. Portions were more than generous. By the time we had pudding, our tummies were bursting. Finished off with tea/coffee What a great place. Exceptional pricing for a 3 course Xmas lunch, which was plentiful, great tasting and presented beautifully. Service and staff were faultless Thank you very much indeed.

We found this gem of a cafe thanks to Butlers Empire. We are from Boston and have visited a few times now. Yesterday (Sat 26) we went after having a VR flight in the Lancaster at We’ll Meet Again Museum, Frieston. We went for lunch with our neighbour mates. We had not booked and it was really busy, but the owners kindly accommodated us. The food was scoffed up. A £5 brekkie, a ‘bomber’ brekkie, a chilli jacket Tate and a burger and chips. All absolutely delicious and happily bought to the table by the lady owner. Martin and Sharon were in the conservatory with their family, but we didn’t dare approach them, but thanks, you two, we have found a lovely place to eat, and next time, we will book!!

I really cannot add much to previous reviews, fabulous food, clean, polite staff. One of the best cooked breakfasts I have ever had and particularly for the price, if in the area it is worth seeking out and giving it a go.

What a gem of a place. We were a bunch of lady walkers, who, after a six mile walk wanted a warm place to have coffee and a bite to eat. The staff were so friendly and the food absolutely wondeful and very reasonable too. Will definitely be back, thank you!

Fabulous food with quality ingredients and friendly staff. We were recommended The Ragged Apron by a family member as we were visiting Woodhall Spa and was so happy that we went! We loved the food that much that we visited three times during our break. The breakfast is amazing value at £5, it consisted of 2 bacon, 2 sausage, fried egg, beans, mushrooms, hash brown and fried bread. The ingredients were great quality with proper thick cut bacon and tasty sausages. We could not fault the food or the staff who were friendly and attentive, as a larger party it is not always easy to accommodate us but staff ensured that our tables were next to each other and our meals always arrived at the same time. We will definitely be back 😊.

Nice cafe, nice food shame about the Male owner! Rude & uncompromising. Embarrassed existing customers waiting for food & drink with his tantrum!

What a great addition to places to eat in our village of Woodhall Spa. Food is fantastic and extremely good value and the cafe itself is spotless, spacious and modern and the owners and staff are very efficient and friendly. The cafe has recently expanded into what was originally a pub/carpet shop and has been tastefully decorated to suit. We had a tasty Sunday lunch last weekend which was my treat for Mother’s Day and it certainly was. A lovely home cooked roast dinner and dessert for only £11:95 and all delicious too. Can’t wait to return…..any excuse. (It’s a shame that the approach to the cafe is not terribly enticing, so don’t be put off by the overgrown brambles on the pavement, we just walk on the road which saves snagging your clothing)

This cafe is the best value in the area! It has just expanded so more tables available. Food is delicious and the staff efficient and friendly. And it’s the right location for walks along the riverside.

Wow! Big uptick for this place. We were a party of 7 for a birthday lunch. In all honesty, we weren't expecting much. It is, after all, just an unpretentious - looking cafe, but boy, were we wrong! Service was great. Decor is modern, tables and chairs look like new. The menu looks like any cafe type place - BUT DON'T BE FOOLED. Burgers are HUGE! SALADS are HUGE! Set Roast meal (pork in this case) are HUGE! All the food and drink was beautifully presented, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unbelievably, we thought that the pricing meant that we were looking at 'greasy spoon' fare. Boy, we were wrong. Booking is strongly recommended as (unsurprisingly) the cafe is often fully booked. WE WILL BE BACK.

We arrived at 1.55pm for a drink and possible cake or scone to be met by a sour faced lady who did not greet us but just said “we’ve stopped doing hot food”. We advised we had really just come for a drink. She then took us through into the cafe. Only one table was in use so we approached a table for two to be told sternly “can you sit here” and gestured to the adjacent table. We said we wouldn’t as clearly we were unwelcome. So we left saying we would spend our money elsewhere where we would be made welcome. The food is probably very nice and the cafe was clean and well appointed. The frosty reception was unpleasant.

Not the easiest place to find as it appears to be part of a old pub which is now primarily a flooring store. The Ragged Apron is to the side of the building in a conservatory - there is also a garden area. Do not be put off by the surroundings as the restaurant/cafe is a wonder. The day we visited the offerrings were as per the menu but more complex delights are available some days. The food was very plentiful, tasty and very good for the price. The cafe is small but clean and well managed. Certainly a hidden gem.

I went here with my girlfriend and we were seriously impressed. Finally found a place that knows how to cook prawns properly—and they were huge, like real king size. We had three starters, two mains, and drinks, and everything was absolutely spot on. I had the fillet steak, cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Honestly, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Big thanks to the staff who served us and to the chefs—amazing job.
