My mother had her 90th Birthday party here they went the extra mile with everything

Waited almost an hour for food. No apologies. No check on how the food was (not good btw). Felt like the olden days of walking into a pub where you're not known and everyone staring at you.

First time today, Had to wait a while for food, BUT, tbf, when it came outside, a full breakfast, it was piping hot and cooked freshly, I was VERY impressed, and they was willing to accommodate for certain items, Keep up the good work, always room for improvement

This is a lovely hidden treasure. I have visited several times and always found the staff here to be welcoming and friendly. The food is actually really decent for the pricing with a varied breakfast / brunch menu. I love that they host regular events and activities which make the space really engaging for the local community.

Absolutely lovely food, much better than most run of the mill cafés. Plenty of choice of food at a very reasonable price, and a good selection of nicer than average dishes, still priced at a reasonable level. Tricky to find, go between Farmfoods & Acorns charity shop. Plenty of free parking nearby. Highly recommended.

Great little place we regularly pop to for breakfast or lunch, or just coffee and cake 😋 Recently on a Friday we have been getting their curries as a take out…great quality, amount and value! And the flat breads are getting better each week! Lovely Friday night treat

Great little café, enjoyed sitting outside and watching some of the local characters come and go. Drinks and food reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Just had an amazing baby shower at rafters, could not fault anything - welcoming and accommodating at booking , and during the event . The food was lovely (the best sausage rolls!) and the room looked lovely and just the right size - we had the buffet menu but can also highly recommend the afternoon tea option too , staff so welcoming - would highly recommend rafters

Great cafe, found through Google having been in the area for hospital appointments and now always stop afterwards for pancakes!! Food is already really good and the staff are very friendly and welcoming!

Lovely cafe with a very friendly atmosphere. Came in for a pot of tea with my mother and straight away approached by a friendly member of staff who took our order and within minutes we had our drinks. Would Def recommend here if you want a nice chilled atmosphere and excellent food and drinks

They hosted a 3 course Christmas meal for a work event and food was top notch! The starter, Christmas dinner and dessert was equal or better than most well known restaurants and staff were all brilliant... (Tried to get them to host my family Christmas day or boxing day they were so good.) thank you Rafters 😁

The good lady introduced me to this place when we popped in for some lunch and what a lunch it was. Snug and welcoming the place is immaculately clean. With the waitress busily keeping it that way. We both opted for the Roast Pork Bap with Rafters' Chips. With a cheeky pint of 'Intuition' for me. Food took a little while to appear but that's clearly on account of the preparation by the kitchen staff. The food arrived and looked and smelt amazing however this was overshadowed by how good it was. Piping hot, tasty and obviously good quality. Throughly recommended.

Until today, my most favourite Café could be found at HillHead in Hampshire, near the Solent Shore. Doing simple food very, very, very well & friendly, attentive staff.....untill today.... ! Thank goodness 'Breezes' & 'Rafters' are nowhere near each other as having to choose between them would be a travesty.

Cracking little local cafe in Rubery with a great atmosphere and brilliant music always playing! If you've got a hunger on ...the full English breakfast will set you up for the day for sure! And you can grab a beer in there too 👌🍻 pop in and you won't be disappointed!

rafters is by far my favourite cafe to go to. the last time i went before today was pre-pandemic and i am so incredibly happy to see it survived! the decor and vibes were immaculate, the staff were extremely friendly with both new & regular customers alike and the food was incredible. 10/10 will be visiting again, and hopefully sooner than in a few years this time!! 🩷

Absolutely amazing service from Paul and his team! We hired rafters for the second time, once for a wedding and a surprise party. The food and service were fantastic each time! They really go the extra mile for you and are so accommodating. Everyone is really friendly too! Thank you all, you're wonderful :)

Just like many others we all love a great cafe and have been to many over the years. Rafters Cafe is a hidden gem situated at the back of Rubery high street, I bet most the locals are still not aware of its location. The food is fantastic, staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is joyful, fancy a beer or a Prosecco with lunch then this is the place for you. We shall always use Rafters Cafe over the other generic cafes locally. Well done Paul and the team.

I would normally say this place is unbelievable. But considering I waited 10 minutes for my order, then after I did. 15 minutes later no coffees at all and everyone else served. Need more staff personally hopefully improves

Small friendly cafe with a Great atmosphere and excellent food! Food cooked fresh and always worth the wait! Its very busy Friday and Saturdays so be prepared to wait that little bit longer, I promise you you won’t be leaving disappointed!!

UPDATED My meal today was good but not as good as last time my crackling was like rubber and the lunch menu was tiny compared to last time. It also seems that if you know them you get to order things off different menus. Not as impressed as last time but still good food and friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere. Just note that the lunch menu can be a lot smaller sometimes. Went for lunch with my Nan and we have both been very impressed. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the cafe itself is welcoming and lovely to be in. The toilets are clean and so are the tables. They have a fab lunch menu and I had the chicken skewers which where amazing and my Nan had the ham sandwich which was equally as good. We also had a pot of tea for two which was plenty for us tea lovers. I highly recommend this lovely little cafe ! We will be back !

The 'dirty eggs benendict' with bacon and chorizo is simply phenomenal. Cafe itelf has a lovely sun trap with half a dozen tables if you want to eat alfresco rather than inside, some tables covered if you prefer shade, some open to the sky. Low background music of Paul Weller playing Jam acoustic numbers. Really... REALLY like it here.

Nicely decorated place and the staff are nice and polite, but I paid for 4 pork baps with crackling at £3.95 each, which I waited half an hour for, and I got home to find out there was no crackling and the pork was tough.... I'm really disappointed as all the other food looks nice on the reviews, but I can only go off my experience

We had our wedding reception here last Friday. Everything was perfect. The food was incredible as always and Paul and his lovely wife and staff made everyone so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. This really is a hidden gem this cafe/bar . My husband and I and all our family and friends remarked how delicious the home made food was and how friendly Paul and his team were. Thankyou guys we had a blast. Oh and they do the BEST breakfast in the entire universe.

Unpretentious Excellence - Faultless right down to the choice of music. If like me you were brought up in Harborne/Edgbaston fifty years ago you will love this café. Extremely friendly and helpful service with perfectly cooked fresh food and accompanying salad.

A gem of a place tucked away in Rubery Village.

Went for a work retirement event with 20 -30 people and we had an amazing time, food was amazing and staff were lovely! Would definitely go again and consider for another group celebration!

Music a tad loud, coffee was good, but instructions of, break my yoke and cook through, were unfortunately not followed. I hate runny yoke (first batch) AND I hate fully cooked yoke, like in a hard boiled egg (second batch).

Excellent service and excellent food…piping hot and as good as it looks in the internet photos. Looking forward to popping in again next time I’m in the area.

A great little gem hidden away in Rubery. Only ever been to for breakfast but can wholeheartedly recommend a trip on a Saturday morning, for a great breakfast! If a full English isn't your cup of tea, the variety of eggs benedict/royale or the pancakes may just fill you up. All washed down with some very good coffee perfect for that brunch time pick me up!

Great service, lovely people and AMAZING food. You have to hold your nerve finding it as it’s down an alley without much signage but it’s definitely worth it. We’re visiting Longbridge and have come back here specifically to enjoy our second experience. You can park for free for 2 hours in the co op car park next door. Plus, you might find a bargain in the car boot sale outside. We have- both times 🤣.

A true hidden gem of a place this side of Birmingham. My wife has been talking about this place a while which she visited multiple time with her Auntie and another friend, but it was our first time here together. Judging by the footfall and table turnover this place is clearly popular. We had the Dirty Eggs Benedict and Pineapple, Coconut and Lime smoothie. The food was well priced and very tasty and the quality of coffee was excellent. My wife also had the after eight hot chocolate and she said it was excellent.

What an amazing venue for a beautiful event! A baby shower and a 1st birthday both hosted here. It is off the main road so very safe for parking and bringing young children in. There are great facilities...including baby changing area in the toilet. Just be prepared to pay for parking as it chargeable after 2 hours. The whole family and children loved it and every one left with a smile.😊

A good breakfast including a perfect runny egg on a warmed plate. Sadly they use chopped tomatoes but you could choose fresh. Staff are professional and friendly. Contact details are taken and you can sit outside on a nice day.

Went here for brunch with the family. Staff were really friendly and accommodating especially with dietary needs. Food was great and really tasty, our 8 year old ordered the pancakes with berries and honey, and cleared the plate (a rarity normally). Will definitely be back again!
