Really great little place. I always want several things off the menu and am never disappointed with my choice. It's gets very busy, and was gutted they no longer take bookings for afternoon tea on walking day but I do understand. Worthwhile following on Facebook as they have the odd crafty or evening thing on too.

Quirky place in a small row of 1970s suburban shops - quite unexpected really. Tables outside at the front opening on to a generous lawn lined with trees between the cafe and the road, a great space for families with children on a nice day. Inside the space is open and light given the large glass front windows, with a crafty vibe, and crammed with lots of bits and pieces. Crocheted items and mismatched china feature heavily, giving the cafe both colour and character. Lunchtime menu is focused on sandwiches, baked potatoes and some specials. It’s what you could call a bland menu - fresh ingredients but not particularly full of flavour. Some mustard, chutneys or similar would add to the very basic sandwich offerings, and when we were there, there wasn’t much in the way of cakes or sweet treats. In terms of other details, there is a single toilet at the rate of the cafe while parking close by is challenging. The R’ teapot is popular with the locals and attracts a predominantly female clientele. If you are in the area and looking for something other than the standard chains, well worth a try.

Not been in for a while, but seven of us popped in for breakfast after an overnight charity walk. Found a table that could seat us all, food came quickly. Really nice slimmers breakfast, just the right amount, well cooked and tasty, not greasy, good poached egg and bacon. Good friendly service, great atmosphere, still good value and local gem. Don’t let the none descript 1960 precinct put you off. This little row of shops really has something to offer. Parking around the back is a bit hit and miss, but if you live locally this shouldn’t be an issue. See you again soon

I was looking after my baby grandson for the day and, after visiting the local play park, I decided to take him into R Teapot for some lunch - having visited with my daughter a couple of times in the past. As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted warmly, a high chair was carried to the table and we were given a menu. When I mentioned that I suffer from coeliac disease, the team were clearly knowledgeable and gave me complete confidence that they would take care with the preparation of the gluten-free toastie. Whilst we ate, a couple of staff members took the time to chat and make a fuss of my grandson - one of the other customers also joined in! By the time we left, I felt as though I'd been out to lunch at a friend's house. Why would I not want to come again?!

Booked a table on Saturday morning, arrived on time to find a very busy cafe, on letting the waitress know we had arrived she disappeared into the back, the other staff ignored we were waiting at the counter, several minutes later the waitress reappeared, we asked again about our table to be told they were to busy to hold onto the reservation, nothing else was offered so we left and went to cafe ocho, terrible service and will not return.

Nipped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Not busy, but already out of ingredients for an all-day breakfast. Inside is decorated with lots of fabrics and homemade items, which is very hippy style and nice, but smells a bit musty and could do with a good freshen up. Food was nice, simple and rustic (i.e. not dressed or refined). Freak shakes looked fabulous, but not much flavour in the milk shake itself. In summary, nice enough for a quick bite, but not a place for an indulgent treat.

The pink lemonade was also a nice touch. Tea & coffee are plentiful & a pot refill was offered. Being picky, I was a little disappointed with the cake selection. Shop bought jam tarts & chocolate coconut biscuits made up the bulk of the cake selection. I'd much rather have some of the cake on show under the counter glass domes. We only ate the scones & gave the rest to a table across from us. The fresh fruit was a nice refreshing end. On booking & throughout staff were friendly & attentive. They also helped with my mums dietary needs. Thank you for a nice visit.

We were looking for a new breakfast venue but wary of the fact that we needed a gluten free menu. Ready to leave after a speedy pot of tea, we started to read the walls and food options, and a quick chat with the proprietor assured us that we were in a Coeliac-friendly establishment. The staff were more than pleased to show their willingness to provide gluten free options. In short, the food was excellent, the quirky decor gave us plenty to look at and the friendliness of staff was satisfying. My only gripe with our visit today was that I stood waiting at the counter for some time before I was acknowledged. As first time visitors it was unclear at first that there are no menus or table service. You order at the till & food is listed on a blackboard. We sat at the table (the only free one) in front on the blackboard & it was uncomfortable when other people reading the blackboard sat looking at us for some time. You can't help but feel you are sat in the way. Once acknowledged & food was ordered it was a much better experience. Food was great. The lentil soup was warming & filling. The venue itself is delightful & filled with trinkets. A rainbow of colour hits you as you walk in & welcomes you to stay. We will go again & hope that now we know the routine & where not to sit, things will feel a little more comfortable.

I have called in to r' teapot on a few occasions now, and have been very impressed on each visit. It is a cosy art themed cafe with the most amazing homemade cakes! The cafe is used as a venue to display a variety of local artists' work, and as a venue for various art based groups and tutorials. They have a fabulous selection of hot and cold drinks, a lovely menu for lunch or evening meal. Pre bookable afternoon tea is very good. Free wifi is always popular, but they also have adult colouring books readily available (I never realised how lovely it is to sit and colour in with the kids!). For a small fee you can purchase a canvas and will be provided with art media to produce your own piece of art to keep - a lovely way to keep children happy while you enjoy your excellent coffee and a big slab of Rocky Road! We had the so called £7 Sunday Lunch. it was told to us that the kitchen was short staffed. So accepted the wait for food but didn't appreciate the cold meals and poorly cooked meat with hard vegetables. Didn't complain at the time as didn't want to spoil the family meal further. Was horrified when the bill arrived and the cost of 'extras' became clear. Cola £6, wine £9.50. what with desserts the meal came to over £140 for 4 of us. OK if you were receiving fine dining but a so called £7 Sunday lunch - just ridiculous. Might have been a bad day but will not be revisiting.

Very overpriced and under sized portions meant to be a cafe not a restaurant. 2.50 for a can of Fanta is ridiculous, had finished food when they brought missed item , chucked at us, no apology nothing, worst place in miles just about ripping off not providing quality or value

Best coffee & cake experience I’ve ever had wonderful selection of cakes (hazlenut & chocolate bun was to die for !! Cinnamon bun was a clise second !)

We were a large booking so I emailed Gin Alley to book a table. Danielle got back promptly and was very accommodating. Lovely venue for drinks - beers, Prosecco, cocktails. The place was busy with a good vibe. Bar staff were efficient, professional and friendly.
