Quorn grange Hotel restaurant in Charnwood

Picturesque setting and hotel has a lovely external appearance. Internally the hotel had a 70/80’s feel to it. Reception was very busy and so took a while to check in with no issues. Room was very tired but comfortable. Bed was fine and bathroom clean. Shower was over the bath with an awkward screen that made getting in and out a bit dodgy. Shower head was either a dribble or single high pressure jet and water temp a hit and miss affair. Food in the restaurant was very good with a reasonable selection. Lots of loud talking and door banging around 3am for an hour or so but this is hardly the hotels fault as some people have zero consideration for others. All in all not a bad stay ( apart from noise) and reasonable value.

Great accommodation and grounds goodfood too

Attend the hotel for training. Hotel is nice enough and staff were all friendly. Good amount of parking and nice grounds. We had a pre selected meal for our evening meal as well as an Indian buffet, food was okay but nothing to rave about. The breakfast what they did provide was nice, thick bacon and nice sausages. I did feel the breakfast selection could be better on the continental selection, would benefit from having more pastries not just croissants and some more fresh fruit. The room I had was a good size and had the stuff you need but the bed was very soft. My room also had glass doors with not much frosting on them, it was okay as I was by myself but this would be weird if I was staying with someone else. Also that was a lot of marks/strains on the carpet.

Breakfast service is a bit poor and really slow in getting the food out. The shower in the room was really poor.

Staff are great. The rooms clean. Location is quiet with lots of parking. The negatives. Firstly the mattress was terrible, very soft, the double bed was two singles pushed together. So an uncomfortable night. The main reason for only the two stars was the design of the bathroom. Glass walls for a toilet! What were they thinking! There is limited frosting on the glass walls, but forget any privacy when doing your business. Whoever designed this place was clearly kinky!

Stayed here night before and after a wedding. Staff were incredibly helpful, and rooms were clean and well presented. Would stay again.

No Southern Comfort, no Bacardi

I’m sure this was a lovely hotel circa 1990, but it appears not to have been updated since really. Rooms were less than basic, stains on the carpet, bed was quite nice but pillows were naff. We only used the hotel to attend a nearby wedding so it didn’t matter that much to us in the bigger scheme. We arrived at 2.35 and tried to check in but was told check in was 3 o clock. Obviously this is correct but really!!!! So we had to sit in the bar for 25 minutes and just wait. C We had breakfast the following morning which was really nice as was the breakfast staff. Wouldn’t book again unless I had to

Staff lovely. Room was quite bland. Food was nice. We had Christmas dinner. Beef slightly tough with a thick gravy. Turkey good vegetables good. Decent portions. Pleasant evening and good value. But needs more atmosphere

Two night stay, no hot water couldn't shower or shave for the two days

Absolutely appaling wrong key key wouldn't work had a shower only 1 towel in room for 2 people had to ring and wait for another towel my husband standing there wet. Bed was terrible had a big dent in it wasn't comfortable at all. It was my birthday we got dressed told reception staff, he sayd we wouldn't be charged, no apology for the things that happened. And on tuesday money was taken out, had to call reception explain everything and wants me to put in Email . I said he can call me when comes out of meeting. We went to another hotel. Ruined my birthday we were late for dinner too. Avoid at all costs.

Stayed there to do a course. The first night the evening meal the seating arrangements were a bit cramped. The food overall was enjoyable. The room was comfortable. The only drawback was the coffee didn't get refilled enough.

Just been & had Sunday lunch, to celebrated my dads 80th birthday with the family. There was 11 of us. Some of my family are very picky with food quality & expect the best. We didn’t know what to expect here at the Grange, but boy, it was superb. We were the only guests for lunch, today, which was a bit sad as the food & service was very very good. Even my brother in law commented to a member of staff how great the roast dinner was. I’ve never heard him say that before & he’s happy to go to Michelin star restaurants and spend money to eat fine foods (not my cup of tea). So that was a surprise. The place could do with a refurb as the windows and blinds could do with a good clean and the room is dated, but the service & food was EXCELLENT.

If you're attending a function its OK, but otherwise don't bother. Very basic F&B. Garden and grounds are lovely but that's as far as it goes.

My bridesmaids and I stayed in this hotel the night before my wedding and it was beautiful. I called the receptionist a few times and ever they were polite and accommodating. The room service was speedy and efficient! Couldn’t have asked for better.

The place is beautiful but the beds are really bed. I think they need changing of mattresses.

Warm clean rooms. Good condition but decor dated.

Beautiful location lovely garden. Good size as booked a superior double room. Air con would have been useful. The bed was not comfortable felt like sunk in. Tv remote not working. No USB charging slots. No plugs in bathroom. No lights in all the corridors!

Beautiful location, shame about the room. It was right next to the trade entrance kept awake until 1am with events vans packing up. Woke up 6hrs later same thing. Not very restful at all

Excellent service and the food is wonderful.

Not what it was! Obviously they are cutting back. You used to get a lovely roll with dinner, and a pot of tea or coffee at breakfast. Now no roll, and a drinks machine at breakfsst. My room did not have a biscuit either day nor a bottle of water , yet my fellow guests did. Rooms a bit tired now, there is a bath, but you can only fill it with tepid water.

Had a very pleasant stay, quite expensive but it is a nice hotel. Food was out of this world and staff were helpful when approached.

The service was with a smile, the food and the organisation was beyond excellent. Some of my family stayed with you, also friends and they said nothing was too much trouble. Very disappointing. The menu choices were very limited for a lunch menu. The prices were very expensive for the quality and quantity which was served for 3 very young children. One adult meal consisting of a bowl of soup (tasteless and bland) and cheese sandwich on stale white bread served with a little green lettuce. £11. Outrageous. Total price £60.50. After complaining on paying the bill. I mentioned how disappointed I was with the meals. I was offered a £5 discount which was the price of the soup. The manageress was not interested in listening to my complaint. I am not really one to complain when dining out. On this occasion I feel the lunch and prices have let this beautiful hotel down.

Clean Comfortable Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble.. Evening Meal was Superb. Cooked to perfection.. Small but interesting selection of Drinks.. MY DISAPPOINTMENT CAME AT BREAKFAST. For expensive cost it was miserly small. No selection of fruit, or fruit juice , 1 bacon 1 sausage 1 egg 2 mushrooms.1 toast. For the very same expense I could have had a Very large assortment of continental.& English at the premiere inn down the road..

Very disappointed with lack of choice on menu. Only about six main meals on menu and two specials offered. Very nice garden setting which is why we visited during covid restrictions and very efficient service. On previous visits last summer we couldn't fault the choice and quality of food.

Great place off the beaten track , I was working in nearby Loughborough and stayed here for two nights. Seems Covid friendly , staggered breakfast and dinner times , masks to be worn and sanitiser around. Room was clean and comfortable and bathroom was clean . Limited menu in the restaurant bu t food was very good. Recommended.

Went for a meal tonight here using the eat out to help out scheme, this is our wedding venue where we will be getting married at next summer so decided to give it a go and honestly it was divine! The food was lovely and we are definitely glad we have chosen this place as our venue to get married at. Booked back in to come again in a couple of weeks again for the eat out to help out scheme. Drinks are really reasonably priced too which was great because often drinks can make the meal price go up, really looking forward to coming back, would 100% recommend!

I have no hesitation in awarding 5 stars to Quorn Grange. From booking through to waiting, attention to detail where food allergies are concerned and the meal itself there was absolutely no problem. Older, midweek lunches may choose from the Platinum menu, which although a little limited, still provides ample choice at an exceptionally good price. Chefs kindly adapted food to cope with allergies. All in all, a wonderful experience. So, why were we the only diners? It's a secret gem worth exploring...

Excellent Sunday lunch. Food and service were both first class. Starters and desserts delivered to your table. Main course was a buffet. 3 choices of meat and a large selection of vegetables, freshly prepared and hot. Highly recommended.

We wanted somewhere different for Sunday lunch and suddenly remembered Quorn Grange. Haven’t been there for several years but will certainly be back very soon. We chose the buffet and weren’t disappointed. The meat was cooked perfect especially the beef and a good variety of vegetables that weren’t just steamed ie we had cauliflower cheese along with proper roast potatoes and several other veg. There was also a good selection of starters. My husband had the risotto which looked lovely and creamy. I chose the terrine.

Delicious food and good choice menu, but let down by a charming, friendly waitress who was clearly untrained and knew nothing about the dishes.

Just been for Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch....first of all the staff are second to none...head and shoulders above any restaurant staff in our area. Thank you Georgina on reception and all of the excellent restaurant staff. Thank you to the chef for the best beef we have ever eaten...melted in your mouth like butter and very soft, succulent and tasty and the fluffiest Yorkshire puds. Only reason this is not a 5 star review is because of the vedge. I have yet to eat in any restaurant that can serve nice crispy roast potatoes. Ok the method of keeping them hot probably made them soggy but they didn’t look as if they had started out very crisp. The carrots were very tasty but very over cooked and soggy. Vegetable. are very important to me so forgive my little moan. Boil potatoes to soften the outside .. shake them to fluff up the outside...roast in pre heated very hot oil or duck Fat in a very hot oven... turning once...perfect crispy roasts! Trouble is you need to keep them hot in a dry heat to stop them going soggy. All in all we loved the experience so much that I am not afraid to post this comment and can’t wait to visit again but for the evening menu.

I invited 11 friends to spend Afternoon Tea to celebrate my forthcoming 70th Birthday.I would like to commend the staff in the Restaurant for their friendliness and the excellent service. The food was excellent (One guest was Gluten Free, and another guest disliked mayonnaise.) The attention to detail was exceptional, everything l requested was supplied. Well done. My friends and l will be visiting you again at the earliest opportunity.

The hotel is a smallish country hotel in a nice setting and grounds. The room was a reasonable size and the bed was huge and comfortable. The only small downside was that we had booked an executive room that was advertised with a bath. In fact it only had a small shower cubicle. It didn't bother us too much as we only stayed a night but worth double checking if you really want a bath. Breakfast was good. The staff were all very friendly.

Dinner - the service was dreadful, the food average. Breakfast was the usual help yourself, eggs like rubber The restaurant itself was a lovely light room - the only good bit about it

Very impressed with afternoon tea yesterday. Food was delicious. All Staff were all absolutely exceptional- warmly welcomed us and looked after us to a very high standard. Special thanks to Kim Love who looked after us- an asset to the hotel. Can’t wait to return soon.

Not a lot more to say than my subject heading. Firstly, all and I mean all the staff are extremely helpful. They can not do enough for you. The food, wow, absolutely fantastic, the only negative I could possibly find is the upgrade works that is going on at the moment, but, I’m honestly struggling to sway me away from a 10 out of 10 rating. I’ll definitely be back!

My friend and I had a 3 course meal in the restaurant and we both had beautiful food. The food was exceptional, the service was first class and we cannot sing its praises loud enough. Highly recommended.

New venue for company Christmas party , good location ,plenty of parking. Very clean & good service . Alas room cost expensive with expensive breakfast. But good hotel.

I Came here for a group party of over 90 people. The food and service were fine but the room we were given was not large enough for our group and several of us had to take our food into the adjacent bar area.

I attended a function here with friends and we were very disappointed by the food and service.
