Quinns Bar in Down

Bit mixed, large pub with plenty of seating and lots of TV’s if your into your sport you will be at home. Food portions were massive and my partner really enjoyed the prawn salad. My Yorkshire pudding with sausages was ok but I’d not order again. the quality of the sausage was average at best and there was a lack of gravy, I asked for more but it never came and had to ask two different servers for a pepper mill. I left slightly disappointed but would give it another go with a different food order for me

Absolutely superb Pub Restaurant, in fact it achieved the honour of winning "Gastro Pub of the year 2023". Delicious food, homely atmosphere and attentive staff. Comfortable seating, live music and TV sport. Family friendly, lift down to toilets for disabled patrons. Highly recommended, especially for tourists. Free all day vehicle parking on nearby Downs Road facing the Irish Sea.

Very quick service, wonderful atmosphere. We had the seafood chowder and fish and chips. Genuinely out of this world! Huge portion sizes too. The chowder was the best ever.

What can we say about quinns in Newcastle the booze is not proper alcohol the door staff are a beating people this place needs to be closed down it's selling drink to underage kids

I loved Quinns bar in Newcastle Northern Ireland. The staff are friendly and pub itself is full of charm and character. The Guinness was delicious. The food, oh my gosh, it was soooo delicious the beef melted in the mouth. I definitely have to go back there.

Definitely a great place in Newcastle. Directly a few meters from the local beach. The service is great, pleasant, helpful, a beautiful interior of the pub, a large corner bar and good food. This place is worth visiting...

Good traditional pub. I called in for a drink. Decent pint of Guinness although a little too cold so not as creamy as I would like. My wife's Apple Cider very nice.

Great Atmosphere when we came in, good crowd for a Friday afternoon Good collections of beer on tap and nice cocktail Menu. Plenty of deals on for drink as well.

We all chose from the special menu and kicked back in the upper bar area. Katie and Mary not only met but totally exceeded our service expectations, making our experience seriously awesome. Witnessed the bouncers being extremely heavy handed with people who were not causing any harm.

Great atmosphere, very busy pub. Service was very fast. Staff were young no issues but not overly friendly or welcoming but they were very busy. Food was OK. Quite pricey for what it was and didn't seem freshly cooked. Almost batch cooked and kept warm - food wasn't piping hot for how quickly it was served

Lovely atmosphere, really nice interior decor. Always has sports on. It's nice place for a pint after walking in the mournes!

Good food tonight but regrettably no tables for tomorrow night and the Ireland rugby match v South Africa. Where will we go?

Lunch menu, plenty if choice. Needs more options for other diet restrictions. Staff great. Atmosphere quite during the day.

Lovely atmosphere! Very helpful staff! Nice looking place! Unfortunately food was not good at all! Husband had ribs hardly no meat on them , I had ceaser salad , chicken was rubbery lettuce was not fresh , and fries under cooked cheap frozen chips. I would drink here but certainly wouldn't eat here again.

Amazing food! Great service. Highly recommend. Stopped in after our round at Royal County Down, and it was a perfect end to an amazing day!

Excellent Pub! Super nice atmosphere, the staff is young and dynamic. Very good choice of menu for all tastes. For my part I drank 2 IPA Citra beers and for meal the Chicken Goujon plate with chips. It was excellent! I will definitely return there on my next visit to Newcastle.

Traditional Irish pub with amazing food, friendly atmosphere, warm welcome and a great pint of the black stuff. Roast Turkey & Ham stack was a highlight and the fish and chips was delicious. Highly recommended

Had a great time. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt and the live music this evening was delight.

Chips half cooked, fish over cooked, apart from that not too bad. Waiting staff and Service quite good for a Wednesday afternoon and the Guinness was nice.

I've been going to Quinn's for a number of years now but won't be back ever again... Our waiter had a serious attitude problem because my friend changed his order which made everyone at the table feel uncomfortable and when the food came out my wife ordered chicken and it was pink in the middle in which we told our waiter and she started arguing with us at our table saying it wasn't pink when it clearly was we told her we didn't want a new one and she wasn't taking no for an answer which then resulted on more food coming to the table when we already told her no. Who ever is the manager at Quinn's needs to have a word with this woman on how to speak to costumers. STAY WELL CLEAR!

Had many a good meal and pint here when visiting Newcastle for family occasions.

Great location. In the middle of the city. Great live music with good food and drink.

When we arrived the place was very busy. A waitress arrived and took our drinks order which arrived wrong. She then took our food order. The garlic bread was threw on the table in front of me with plastic in it and not even cooked! I had to ask another waitress for cutlery. Our mains arrived again threw in front of us and most definitely not wat we ordered. The attitude of the staff was nothing short of disgusting when we cancelled our order and asked for the bill for our drinks. A long way from when we ate here before it was so good we looked forward to going back unfortunately after going back we will not be looking forward to going back again. Inexperienced staff.

Was up on a weekend break with the kids. They wanted to eat here. Food was good and exactly as advertised. Service was friendly and polite.

Brilliant food and very attentative staff. The Guinness went down well after climbing Slieve Donard.

Disgusting. I was served rotten mussels and didn't realise until it was too late. They made me sick for days. The irony of this bar having a big chalk sign out the front stating "Gastro pub of the year!" was not lost on me.

Authentic Irish pub. The service excellent. The food was great (once the steak and once the fillet) the meat was on point. Were there on a Bank Holiday weekend. And even though there was a lot going on, you could still enjoy your stay. We will definitely come back here on our next vacation.

My partner and I just arrived from Canada and had to leave a review. This place was amazing. The food was great, the service was exceptional. The other customers were friendly as well and gave us recommendations on other sights to see while we're in the area. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to visit. My husband brought me here today for my Birthday Absolutely gorgeous lunch and the customer service is second to none The background music was perfect for us oldies if the barman picked the tracks like he claimed lol He has brilliant taste A beautiful charming Establishment Loved it ❤️

Not impressed today's visit. Lunch for 4 people. Price for fish and chips which chips sorry but they were cheap frozen. McDonald's chips are better. Other meal chicken goujons again frozen chicken and had been over cooked. Service exceptional by staff great atmosphere totally booked out. Definitely go back just pity about standard of food for such a high price asked for on menu. Would be reluctant to eat again 🤔🤔

Good menu, big portions. The Jemesie burger with pull pork was excellent. The chicken stack was a bit soggy, not as crispy as you'd expected. Great atmosphere in the bar with live music! Great selection of draught beers.

Brilliant cocktails alongside having a very friendly group of staff who are always ready to take your order even when it is busy with sports matches on. There is nothing better than relaxing in Quinns with a cocktail or a beer to after an action packed day in Newcastle.

Horrific after the assault I witnessed on a female by 3 male staff..... bad pints and cold food to finish it off

Great beers and great food ! They recently built a terrace (beer garden) where you can have a smoke enjoying your Guinness :) The staff is really friendly and the people there too !
