We had hoped for a good meal in this historic hotel: sadly no. First they tried to seat us in the draughtiest spot in the room…..pleasant if it was a warm evening, but it wasn’t. Moved. The food: some interesting items on the menu, and overall I would rate this at 3, with hints of 4 for some dishes. So, the mozzarella soufflé was good, but dumped in a rather inelegant display of leaves and asparagus. The fish cakes with crayfish were good, and a good salad accompaniment. Croutons a little soft. The burger and its fries were below average, and the only redeeming feature was a good salsa. We did not even bother looking at desserts. The service was very poor: it was not that the staff were rude or unhelpful……but they were clearly untrained and inexperienced, and initially far too few in numbers. No wine list offered until we asked, they did not know what the pie of the day was, and the food was delivered with no drinks until we asked. Sorry, one can reasonably expect more in such a venue. A poor end to the day.

A lovely atmospheric restaurant in the feathers hotel. We dined here in the evening and again for breakfast next morning. The evening meal was wonderful with tasty steaks and tender lamb dishes. Service very pleasant from some friendly waiters and waitresses and plenty of choice in terms of beers and wines. Breakfast was also very good with well cooked food and attentive service. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Quills es sin duda el lugar ideal para comidas especiales. La comida es de primera clase, absolutamente deliciosa y el personal es atento y amable, sin ser dominante. Un entorno encantador.

Dropped in for afternoon tea with friends. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere with nice sofas and fires. The staff are smart and friendly. It seems to be very popular with locals as well as visitors. A very pleasant break to wandering around the delightful town of Ledbury.

I have lunched at the Quills restaurant in the Feathers hotel both with friends socially and with business colleagues. The menu is always interesting and the service is impeccable. The ladies who wait are courteous and extremely competant. The Quills is always my first choice in Ledbury

I absolutely love being in this place and it has a beautifully calm feel. However I am totally astonished by the dolls-house size servings for lunch- at normal lunch prices. I almost asked them if they hadn’t accidentally given me a kiddie’s portion - for a cheaper price- as for over £9 I got two slices of delicious small rye toast, about 7 very small lettuce leaves, 4 olives and a small pot of delicious dip. All very tasty but absolutely not a main course. I know I these are locally sourced ingredients but this felt really wrong. I will definitely return for post lunch coffees but will make sure to eat somewhere else where I can fuel up for lunch before hand.

Only went in for a Latte - great flavour/strength. I have to write 100 characters but only went in for a coffee!

We were told by other hotel guest that this was the best curry they’d had. We are very experienced curry eaters and so was a little sceptical. We were wrong. I love dansak dishes and so I had the tandoori duck dansak. The dansak curry was the best dansak I had had. My wife had chicken merilan with melons, which was creative, beautifully tasty and well presented. Even the mushroom rice and onion bhajis were of top notch quality. Just wished the Taste of India was closer to our home.
