Bought 2 regular cod and a large chips, big disappointment, the cod was the flattest fish I have ever had, nothing like the chunky cod as described in the reviews. Chips were ok. Will not be going back.

Sometimes not the best dealing with customers requests.

Closes at 7 pm staff say after 6.30 they have run out of fish and everything whatever apart from.the chips of course . Basically they can't be bothered to cook anything after 6.30 only chips probably been told to do this ???? ..... So I get a reply from the owner who's got a attitude problem with customers who say what they find who calls some customers awkward I wasn't the only one some chap and his family got cold chips waiting for his order .and he was not happy in fact he was fuming with his order . customers also work hard all week by the way owner to buy fish and chips from you. And where was it mentioned that I was having a go at your staff if anything your at fault not them need to order more fish .pies etc especially on a bank holiday which you should know more people are around with the school summer holidays aswell going on ..and I was not awkward. its allowed to put a review on here what people find and by the poor reviews i read on here it sounds like the owner does not know how to reply to them in a civil way.. you need to accept you are not always right don't run a fish and chip shop if you can't fulfill customers needs maybe you need to go on a customer awareness course sooner than later ????

Well, how disappointing. Last Saturday, early evening a group of 6 of us walked through pouring rain to eat at our favourite fish and chip shop, Queens Park. We were tired, wet and hungry. The takeaway wasn’t busy but we noted the eat in area was closed off. We politely asked if we could sit in to eat our meals. We were abruptly told that we couldn’t as they hadn’t got enough staff. When we questioned this decision we were told that it wasn’t this staff members decision. I asked to see the person whose decision it fell to. A young man replied saying he was managing but it wasn’t his decision either and that the person to make the decision wasn’t there! The upshot was that 6 very hungry , cold customers were refused a seat so we took our custom elsewhere. We are not passing trade. Some of our group live locally and regularly used to use Queens Park. You really can’t expect people to purchase hot food at a prime time on a bank holiday Saturday, early evening and eat in the pouring rain! disappointing to say the least.

We will be honest. We visited this eatery out of desperation, after a long day, and discovering that the restaurant next door was booked up. It was close to closing time, around 6.40pm, the chip shop was winding down for the day and options were very limited. However, a happy, smiling lady behind the counter helped us make the best of the situation. I told her she was a wonderful human being, and sincerely meant it! She quite genuinely improved our night. We didn't, therefore, see it at its best, but it looks like a nice, clean, old fashioned chippie (who helped out a tired, hungry couple on a cool grey night).

My scampi was lovely but my partners fish was very dry, almost inedible.

Sign said food takes longer as made fresh to order but our kebab meat was hard and like cardboard. (In pic) Small tray used no matter the portion. Kebab meat was not the usual texture and unfortunately both me and my partner had a sensitive stomach the next day.

Excellent value on fish n chips . Peas bit bland but nice overall.

The staff were understanding and accommodating with how I like my food. The chips were beautifully cooked up to standard and they tasted great. Everything else I had as well was cooked just as I liked it

This chippy has had a mixed recent history but is now owned and well run by the current proprietor. Lunch time deals are a steal and are great value. Highly recommended.

Order food as it arrives they tell us no sauces as they ran out .. got the food took it home and warmed it up with sauces. Go the shop then !

I had the lunchtime special, small fish with chips and peas for £5.99. More than enough for me, and it was delicious. Friendly staff and clean inside. This is our go to place now.

Lovely fish and chips, nice and crisp, but not too greasy. Friendly staff and freshly served while we waited. Short walk to the beach front to eat whilst looking out to the sea.

Normally the fish and chips are good but today I was let down found hairs in my lunch this put me off eating them .

Fish and chips near the sea, on the edge of Mablethorpe. Our chips were cooked fresh, and took around 7 minutes. Car parking, roadside, car park at rear. Outside seating

Changed owners a lot over the years but I must say these are the best I've had there.

Got a great looking fish and chips wanted salt, got vinegar only saw when I got home, couldn't eat them. Dissaponting :(

1st time staying in Trusthorpe and what a gem of a fish and chip shop on our doorstep. You pay extra to eat in but we'll worth it. The fish and chips was amazing and hubby had a steak pie which he said was food. Well worth a visit when in the area and worth the walk from Mablethorpe

Today for my husbands birthday we decided to take him back to Mablethorpe for a fish and chip lunch, as we had visited the previous summer. There were 6 in our party , 4 ate in and 2 of us decided to eat out side as we had 2 of our dogs with us. Out of courtesy I went in to ask if It would be ok to use the toilet while they were cooking my food.I was refused and was told they were for eat in customers . Being a lady of a certain age I suffer from urinary incontinence. This was impacted by the freezing temperatures. I was not prepared to discuss my personal issues with the staff as I find this highly embarrassing. I totally understand that during a busy summer season this policy has to be implemented but there were only six people (4 members of my family) in the restaurant at the time . The staff were more than happy to take the additional 80p they charge to sit in from the 4 members of my family that did so ,only one of which used the toilet. This policy spoilt the day for us as my husband was upset to see me in pain and subsequently unable to eat my meal. The food at this chip shop is nice which is why we went back . I am sorry to say we won't be going back again, we will find another chip shop that knows what customer service means.

Just popped in the once passing by. It was chippy standard. They did look to keep scrap's tho which I've not seen about since I was a kid. That was nice 🙂

£5.99 special what a bargain 👌 I visited with my elderly uncle and my partner, she chose to have a full portion, where me & my uncle had the special plus a bread roll each which was more than enough for us, plenty of seating inside which was good as it was a little chilly today, it was clean and tidy, there was plenty of space to park and no restrictions from October to April, there was music playing in the background, kisstory playing old tunes. Was a good experience

Chips had been stewed in one of those heated cabinets and were dry without good flavour or crispy. Fish was freshly cooked but was soggy and again lacked a good crispness to the batter. Mushy peas had zero flavour. We were charged 80p per person for eating in on very uncomfortable wooden chairs - no warning given before ordering. First restaurant we have ever come across that does that and we have been in many, many restaurants ! Windows filthy, door left open giving an uncomfortable draft. Parking not easy but probably a nightmare when the holiday season is in full swing. No toilets in the restaurant. The first restaurant we have ever seen without customer toilets. Cannot possibly recommend. First and last visit.

we often go to this chip shop ,the staff are great ,they always talk to my husband who is a wheelchair user ,and cant talk ,We always sit inside and the staff cant do enough for us ,always friendley and polite ,i would recomend this chippy

Ordered a kids sausage and chips which was £3.50 which was reasonable asked if i could have a battered sausage and the woman behind the counter charged me £4 so i said it doesn't matter. When i looked at the price between a small plain and small battered sausage there was 10p difference so when i asked why are you charging 50p extra for a child she got all offensive and very rude will definitely not be returning here customer service in this place is horrendous

Great cod and chips. Served just before closing time do not many people in the restaurant.

On holiday from Kent + dog. Meeting 2 friends for lunch. Called restaurant to see if dogs allowed. Told only alliwed outside. Husband went in to order. Saw dog sitting on "owners" lap. Husband explained our dog was an "emotional support" yet had to stay outside. Was told if we had mentioned this when we first called, we could've taken her in BUT that information wasn't offered on the original call 😡 We ordered our 4 meals (3 with baked beans) + 3 drinks. We were given 4 wooden chip forks. Husband asked for "proper" cutlery and was refused because we were eating outside! Have you ever tried to eat baked beans with a wooden chip fork?? Ridiculous!! Had to go back as a drink was forgotten and got service charge added again! Bill came to just under £40. Food was nice but the staff attitude left a lot to be desired. Should've eaten at the Coral Cafe by the beach where we had eaten the previous day as the food was amazing and the staff very accommodating!!

Called here on way back to sutton had fish and chips with mushy peas 2 portions for $12.00 pound really nice.

Stopped for a fish & chip lunch, and was told we had to pay extra to eat indoors (fair enough, that is normal) and extra for cutlery. But on asking to use the toilet (after buying fish & chips) was told as we were eating at the tables outside, we weren’t allowed to use their toilet. Very shouty lady serving… a bit of a sergeant major! A bad attitude, and pricy food, won’t use again!

Well just had roe and chips x2 & fish and chips . Roe was that thin .a crisp is thicker .fish was full of oil not worth the money I have paid will not be using again ..I am not on holiday I live here ?????

We had rented a beach hut for a day at Queen's Park so this was the closest fish and chip shop and was actually open past 4.30pm. It's possibly for this reason, plus the fact it had been the only warm day for weeks that it was really busy. The staff did seem a bit 'flustered' but were coping and even made the sensible decision to pause orders to catch up. We did wait a bit longer than expected for a fairly simple order but you also have to accept this isn't McDonald's and some thing's we just have to be patient for. The "older lady" was a little bit abrupt with some children but it must be an incredibly stressful environment when it's busy. The fish and chips and kids meals we got were very good, just a shame the mushy peas were a bit flavourless. There is a small service charge for sitting in but it's tiny compared to some fish and chip restaurants where they'll stick an extra 20%+ on everything. My only 'suggestion' would maybe fit a tannoy so people outside could hear their order number being shouted? That might solve people (me included) loitering inside trying to hear and getting told to wait outside. We'll probably be back again for a day trip and beach hut next year and would happily go here again.

The older lady serving clearly doesn’t like children so don’t bother visiting if your children are not robots, both our family and another larger group sitting in were obviously a inconvenience to her and apparently my 16 month old tapping on a high chair at the opposite end of the restaurant was enough for her to tell me to quite him down because she couldn’t hear people ordering - she even told another group of 4 children that they couldn’t be sat at a table and they needed to leave despite their mum being at the counter ordering food. Had we not got a hungry toddler we would (should ) have left at that point. When the food arrived my husbands fish was freshly cooked, mine clearly wasn’t, soggy batter but the fish inside was ok. The only saving grace in that place is the lovely young lady that waitressed at our table, she is efficient and actually has great customer service skills. No doubt after looking at the other reviews I will get a snarky reply from the owner but that says more about how the business is run than it does about the customers reviews. EDIT IN REPLY TO YOUR PREDICTABLE SNARKY COMMENT! My 16 month baby never made one murmur no screaming nor shouting! He was just tapping his innocent little hands on a high chair which I did stop once you so kindly guided me on how to become a better parent, yes the other family’s multiple children made a little a noise as they settled into their seats but soon quietened down once there overdone battered sausages arrived (as was noted by the lovely older lady as she scavenged through their scraps after they left) Also as you’ve kindly made me a better parent after my visit, may I also offer you a little wisdom, basic food hygiene is essential in a restaurant so you may want to stop sneaking in chips in when you think nobody is looking or at least wash your hands after doing so. I wish this business all the luck you deserve and suggest in the future you leave parenting to the parents and maybe focus your replies on the soggy frozen battered fish and terrible customer service.

Tonight I ordered a large chips, large battered sausage and curry sauce. I was under the illusion that a large portion of chips would feed two people however I was upset to get them home to discover how small the portion was. The tray was only half full, considering the shop does small, regular and large I'd hate to see the other portions. I won't be coming back. Daylight robbery.

I bought large chips, large battered sausage and curry sauce assuming this would feed two people. The sausage was of normal size but the chip portion was woefully small. At £3.50 just for the chips I would rate this as being very poor value for money and will not be going back.

Don't bother unless you want to wait 45 mins outside while you watch everyone come in after you get there food and leave before you it does not take 45 mins to cook 3 sausage and chips and a fish butty. The owner was very rude to a lady and her 2 young kids who sat down while her husband fetched the car she was told to leave as she ordered takeaway not eat-in but there were plenty of empty tables so I didn't see the problem.i can see why there were empty table now poor chippy all round.

We ordered for a family of 5 costing almost £50, the order was checked 3 times to make sure that it was correct. We then needed to wait around 15 minutes for food and asked if we could use the toilet for one of the group. We were told that this was not possible because we were sitting outside (there was not an option to sit inside because it was closed). When the food was handed over, it was a portion short, we were then told that we would need to pay a further £12 for this as it had not been ordered initially (even though it was checked and read back 3 times). The lady that told me that she was the manager was rude and then when challenged said that she was not the manager...

As a regular visitor to Mablethorpe since 2018, this has always been our chippy of choice. Always, lovely freshly cooked food, all polished off without complaint. Smiling staff. Happy to take cash. We'll be back.. 🙂

The mushy peas weren’t the best and a little watery but that wouldn’t stop us returning. The only issue was the difference between a small and regular fish which carried a large £ difference but on inspection it was difficult to tell the difference. I’m guessing a return visit is needed to find out! Keep up the good work

Went in to order my food which was fine ,there was 2 young lads serving and then an older man came through the back and started having a go then he got louder and louder to which I confronted him and said how unprofessional it was and that he should of called the lads to one side I then left

First visit to a fish and chip shop in mablethorpe only to be told they had ran out of fish, just 2 small cod left, and to sit in is 80p per person!!! Just had a takeaway fish and chips. Food cooked to order at a high standard and was delicious. On,y a short wait for the fish to be cooked and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend a further visit

Kids eat everything, change for us. They thought the chips were very tasty. I was a little disappointed with my fish. It wasn't battered enough for me to be able to peel it back and just eat the fish.

I don't know why I have never been here before. They really do the best chips ever. Can also park your motorbike outside and the staff are lovely.

Fish and chips was nice However, I don't understand what the big deal is over the toilets? Surely if someone has chose to spend money with you whether they are eating in or taking out then you should be gracious about it. Yes I am aware that there is toilets across the road but with them being on a steep hill my disabled husband would struggle to walk up it and because we had a dog with us we couldn't eat in and the same rule applies on the outside benches. Maybe think about putting a 30p charge to them so customers can decided if they want to use them or not I just find these signs so arrogant and petty...

Stopped here with our 2 labradors for cod and chips before taking them to the beach .The food was large portions cooked well and great prices. We only came for the day but would say to anyone looking for great food at a fair price come here as we will again . As a couple who holiday in Cornwell a lot there is no where you could get food of this standard at this price anywhere there .

Enjoyed our fish and chips today at your establishment the fish was piping hot and the batter was lovely as was the chips and mushy peas we had two specials my late father and mother used to use this chip shop in the 70s they had a caravan on towervan park

After spending the day at Sutton on Sea we were ready for fish and chips, shame the town was closed. Luckily 5 minutes up the road Queens Park chippy was open. We were really impressed with the service, the staff were really polite and very helpful with our large order. The food was cooked to perfection, it was really good quality and great value. Would definitely recommend it.

I guess visiting here in beautiful sunshine made the atmosphere, but I visited here on two consecutive weekends on motorbike trips and the food and service were really good!

On a recent holiday to Mablethorpe we tried a number of fish and chip shops and this was the best by far. The food was the most delicious & the staff were the friendliest too. We couldn’t fault it & if you’re looking for a good chip shop whilst in Mablethorpe, I recommend Queens Park Fish and Chip Shop

Just don't bother. There's plenty of other decent chippys about without putting yourself through the misery of having to deal with the obnoxious attitude of the owner. Vile horrible man. Waiting on your.reply sir 😁🙄

New customer that will never coming back. We paid for food and got refused to use the toilet. Even though by law you have more than 5 seats there has to be access to toilets.

Very impressed with my first visit to this Fish & Chip Cafe. Both the interior and exterior of this Cafe were spotlessly clean, Fish was fried to order as you waited, resulting in a really hot instead of lukewarm meal. Crispy Batter and beautiful Chips, and the two young men serving were a pleasure to meet, both were pleasent, polite and courteous. I couldn't have wished to receive better service. It was my first visit, but it certainly isn't my last! Would happily recommend to all.

Had a wonderful warm welcome at this place, fantastic food with generous portions. They coped really well with a complicated order for 9 of us even though some of our party were indecisive. Beautifully clean restaurant with good clean toilet. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating and very accommodating to our large party allowing us all to sit together. Very friendly staff. Not bad at all for a lad from North Bretton, Peterborough 😉
