Dear Sam and team, We would just like to express our thanks to you and your team today, we had the function room to hold our sons christening and wow, from decorating the room for us to the food and your staff, you was all so attentive even on a busy Sunday looking after all our needs and the food was amazing. You should be proud of yourself and your staff on a perfect little pub with an amazing function room. What a little gem of a place. Would highly recommend you to friends and family. Thank you once again and we apologise again on the mess we made.

Wow. My partner and I were out in the Leicestershire countryside enjoying the sunshine and decided we wanted a bite to eat. We charged upon a sign to the Queen's Head so decided to give it a go. What a great experience this was. It doesn't look much from the outside but once you get inside there's plenty of space and it has been wonderfully refurbed making it a relaxing and attractive place to spend time. And then the food. Wow. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. We'll definitely go back there again.

OH MY WORD. I’ve had two events one Sunday after the other. One a sit down meal which just blew all 30 of us away. Food was delicious service was incredible . Sam being the Manager was on top of it all attention to detail was fabulous. Sunday after we had a buffet for nearly 30 people, what struck me on walking into the room is how the tables were laid out. You didn’t feel like you were on separate tables everyone could hold a conversation it was just perfect. Holly came in on arrival introducing herself she would be looking after us for our special occasion, boy did she nail it again attention to detail . What was nice is all the staff were in and out making sure our needs were met, but they weren’t intrusive you didn’t realise they were there. 5*plus without any doubt If you’re looking for somewhere just for lunch or a special occasion look no further this place is just perfect.

Enjoy the George at Coleorton, decided to try the Queens Head at Belton. Well we were on our own in a cold room, even though there were people and free tables else where. Ordered the faggots, my husband's looked fine, mine first faggot was dry and white, called the member of staff who said the sausagemeat hadn't got mixed in properly. Right faggots do not have sausagemeat meat in and this certainly was not sausagemeat. O.K I did not have to pay for the meal but it was a let down. Will stick to the George

Lovely dog friendly place to eat! Our Air B&B hosts suggested the Queen's Head for Sunday Lunch and we were very glad they did! Apparently it's only been under current management for 6 months and all I can say is they are doing it right! The food was all absolutely lovely, the service was perfect and our dog was made very welcome in the bar area (special thanks for not being awkward about her sitting on my lap as some places sometimes are: small dogs often feel insecure on the floor and settle better up high). We knew it was promising when we arrived at 12 on the dot when they opened, and several groups were already heading in. It was fairly full by the time we left, which given that it's mid January in a cost of living crisis speaks absolute volumes about it's popularity with locals. Booking ahead recommended!

I booked the Queens Head, Belton, Leicestershire, for a private lunch to celebrate my 70th birthday. I needed a venue in a location that was in a suitable for guests travelling from London, Devon and Yorkshire. I had not visited the pub before, however, the web site and customer reviews painted a positive picture. So I emailed the hotel to ask if they could meet a number of challenges, including - guests requiring wheelchair access and guests with a range of dietary needs. The response from Jo, the general manager, was very positive and helpful. Over the next few weeks we talked on several occasions. We agreed a suitable menu and Jo provided the reassurance that all our requirements for accommodation and the lunch could and would be met. The weekend was a great success, helped by unusually warm weather for February, so that before the lunch my guests and I could sit outside on the veranda sipping bubbly. The private function room was comfortable and spacious. The wine, food and service were excellent. The meal was leisurely giving guests time to talk and catch up. The children also enjoyed the garden. During the afternoon we were also able to enjoy some musical entertainment provided by two of my guests. Overall, the Queens Head proved to be an ideal venue. Those guests who stayed over the weekend praised their accommodation, the quality of their breakfasts and relaxed seating area in the restaurant where we had a quiet late night drink. As for those attending the lunch they commented favourably on the venue, food and service. Under Jo’s leadership the Queens Head staff were polite and helpful. Over the weekend Jo proved to be an outstanding hostess ensuring that all her promises were met so that I and my guests had a weekend to remember. Thank you the Queens Head!!

We booked a table for 4 people for Sunday lunch at 2 o'clock - a perfectly decent time for Sunday lunch, I feel. We were led to our table and orders were taken. A few minutes later the waitress came back to say that they didn't have any of the roasts - turkey or beef!! She could only offer chicken, which wasn't even on the menu. Also, one of the starters that was on the menu was unavailable. The menu consisted of a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains, two of which were roasts. To have none of our main course choices plus a starter that was unavailable was shocking. We waited for one hour for our starters, during which time four people, who had gone through to the restaurant AFTER us, were served their starters and their mains: the roasts were obviously available for them, and they didn't order at the table. Clearly there is a system of pre-booking food, of which we were not made aware either when booking the table or in the bar. We also had to wait an inordinate amount of time for our mains. A couple of drinks were knocked off the bill which was a gesture, but nothing compared to our poor experience. To be fair the food was lovely when it finally arrived, but it wasn’t our choice. Waiting staff were lovely, and unfortunately it is these people who are always on the front line: they were not responsible for such a disappointing experience.

Stopped here on way back from Loughborough university for an evening meal after dropping eldest off for freshers. We saw the sign from the main road heading back to m42 and what a great place. We hadn't read the reviews so took a flyer. Pub had a good atmosphere. Looked newly refurbished. We arrived early and were seated by friendly staff. Service was very good. Menu choices were varied. Lots of choice. We both chose steak which wasn't cheap but the quality of the meat from a local farm was very good and the steaks were perfectly cooked. We thought it was value for money at £22.00. Triple cooked chips in beef dripping which accompanied it with watercress were lovely. We decided to have dessert as not your usual bland choices. Vanilla parfait with gingerbread ice cream which was delicious. Will definitely come back and they have rooms so hopefully a good choice when visiting Loughborough for the weekend.

Visited the Queens as spontaneous visit from driving past one of their brown road signs.Once walked into the pub was no direction as were to go as pub was empty.Once found someone we was shown to a table And given a menu.Waitress came back the food order which we gave her, she began to walk away without asking if we wanted drinks so had to remind her.2x duck starter ( which tasted great)1 T-bone rare ( average )1 chicken dinner ( was ok partner said). My overall experience for Sunday time:Staff need to be seen not having to be found by customers.Attention to detail to be focused into staff eg:1 pint come ordered was flatNo knives for steak or cheese n biscuits People smoking outside front door and in door ways very off putting when eating and entering the restaurant.Staff shouting to each other across the pub of their evening plans with boyfriends odd.All in all I don't think the higher price food warrants us to visit again there are several more pubs restaurants in the area that offer more value for money and staff bit less than they are in a working mans club.

We enjoyed our chilled out Sunday lunch. The restaurant wasn't very full which made for a relaxed afternoon. The food was of a good standard and the staff friendly. I'd recommend the roast beef.

We went on a Sunday and the menu was fairly varied considering it was a Sunday. Food was lovely but overpriced by about 3/4 pound each dish. Drinks are also expensive so probably won't go again.Decor is nice but when visiting the toilets I did notice that some internal fire doors were propped open with large bottles of oil. Definitely put us off and has been reported unfortunately to the authorities.Staff were all very new and very young. They didn't know what items were on the menu and they had no idea what drinks the bar had. We enjoyed the food but would not recommend or go again.

Arrived at 12.30pm for Sunday Lunch. No one in and we thought oh my god. But on leaving there was 8 more people eating or had eaten. Food was pretty good but we thought expensive for what you got. Husband had a Charnwood beer which was flat and tasted as though it was off. So left it. Staff friendly but inexperienced. Menu very limited. Very disappointed.

Nice village pub venue with restaurant and a small bar area that on the night I visited was hosting an open mic night. Very friendly staff and good food and wet offering. Car park and disabled access offered. Free wifi available. I noted that the venue hosts live music events regularly.

The Queens Head has had a chequered career since we first went some 6-7 years ago and thought perhaps we would try it in it's current guise. The poor things first, going on a Tuesday may have not been a good idea insofar as there was to be a Quiz that evening and the menu was very restricted, for example, only three choices for the main course and a poor starter choice if one wanted (as we often do) to share. Staff were pleasant, welcoming but very untrained, we were only asked if everything was OK at the settling up, which obviously had it not been would not have worked! as it happens the meal was fine. There is a decent selection of beers but the "Tribute" was not at it's best and there was no Pinot Grigio available. The Sauvignon Blanc which we chose instead was excellent, if a tad expensive. However, the bread crumbed fish was first class, very fresh and nicely presented. We would have preferred proper chips but that is a minor personal choice comment. Service of the meal was good. May I, to this and similar establishments make a heartfelt request that the words "enjoy" and "No problem" be banned. Would we visit again? yes probably, since it would only be fair to try another evening's menu.

We hadn't visited this pub for quite a while but as we were in the area decided to call in for dinner. It was good to see nothing had changed. The menu had a good choice, the food was lovely, the staff friendly and the atmosphere great. There was a large party in on the evening we were there but this in no way affected the service. It makes a change to see somewhere able to cope with a large party and serve the other diners in a timely fashion too.

Four of us went for lunch on a Saturday. We were the only ones in the restaurant so on the positive side we literally had the place to ourselves. The fish was lightly battered and really fresh not the heavy batter you normally encounter from pub food. The two who had the fish thought it excellent right down to the detail of picked onions on the mushy peas. We also thought the lamb and burger excellent. We would definitely return but would hope for a busier return visit for a bit more atmosphere

Bought a groupon voucher for this resturant, a real deal this one, we were very pleased with the venue spotlessly clean, and the food and service was excellent. We will certainly be back to sample some of their theme meals.

We attended in a family group of eight for Sunday lunch. The menu choice wasn't overwhelming and we all soon knew what we wanted to order. We all had three courses of fantastic food and all commented on how good each course was (which is a rare thing with our family as one member usually finds something not to their liking!).They have a great choice of wine, beers and ales, with a guest ale from a local brewery. The service was friendly and timely. The value was excellent. Would we dine here again? Absolutely. Would we recommend dining here? Definitely!

If you like to sit with a cold draft from the staff leaving open the fire door and the smell of cigarettes from the staff then your on to a winner . As for the fillet steaks don't be cruel enough to take home the left overs for your dog, the worse steak I've eaten for a very long time . The staff walk around with a face on and prefer smoking outside or chatting to the locals rather than serve or clear the tables . I eat out proberley 2-3 times a week and this place has to be up there with having my tonsils out! Menu is very limited so don't be fooled like we were with the glossy adverts! Ps: don't forget your coat and gloves !

Came here for a midweek lunch with family as we were looking for something near Loughborough university which was dog-friendly. It certainly hit the spot! The welcome was warm and friendly (especially for our dog!) and the menu was varied and creative. We all chose different dishes and were all very impressed with the freshness and flavours. It was all beautifully presented too. We couldn't manage dessert, sadly, as they all looked very tempting. So we had coffees in the comfy chairs near the fire. As we wanted our puppy to stay with us, we had drinks, lunch and coffees all in the comfortable bar area. The decor is contemporary and cosy and it was a lovely afternoon.

Steak and chips, one sirloin the other rib eye, cooked medium rare to perfection. Excellent chips. Banda split was good and plentiful as was sorbet. Quiet but then again it was a Thursday lunchtime in January when people are still reeling from their post Christmas credit card bills

We ate here recently I ordered fish and chips and my partner the venison burger. Whilst I couldn't fault the fish and chips was really nice the fact it was served in a cardboard box both shocked and disgusted me. Not only did it look ridiculous (and my local chippy uses better boxes) but was completely impractical because when the lid was opened it folded on top of my partner sitting opposite's food. Whose meal came out on a painted soft wood board. Don't even get me started on how bad those are for harbouring bacteria. Although the venison burger was OK the bread bun was greasy. Even when we said to the waitress would you eat that she said no and we asked our comments to be passed onto the duty manager. Who avoided coming to talk to us for about 10 mins we asked for the bill and still nothing only when asked for him directly did he approach. He reduced the bill which is why I am giving 2 stars not 1.
