I’ve never felt so welcome in a pub before, the locals were amazing and the landlord “trev” was such a top guy, if I lived here I would. 110% be a local Thank you x

We travelled 6 miles to get to this pub and was going after a reccomendation, anyway after arriving at 6.30pm on a Sunday evening, we found the place closed and in darkness..... upon speaking to a neighbour before we left, she informed us that it was open earlier, but in their infinite wisdom they had shut for the evening as they did not think they would get any trade. Superb

Went up the qweens Christmas eve the food was delicious my steak was amazing chips to kill for would highly recommend this pub.

My wife and I had a lovely Sunday lunch here , it was delicious. Really tasted like a home made one, we both had pork and the best part is real home made gravy , delicious. Service was great and a good choice of beer , take cash though. At the moment there are no card facilities.

The last time I visited this pub was about 10 years ago when there was a one-man karaoke show loudly singing Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise. Very strange experience. My Mum had heard that the food was now very good and with a little bit of trepidation I decided to give it a go. I was very surprised to see that there were good real ales on offer and the menu though small had something for everyone. When the food arrived it was a generous size and clearly home-made. In fact it was too much food so had to ask for a doggy bag for my lasagne.

We hadn't booked but we had 6 delicious meals freshly made. The fish was huge and served with scrumps (love them) the corned beef pie was wonderful (like my mams) and the curry tasty. We sat outside in the beer garden with the sun shining until the food was ready. The pubs rustic feel and decor makes for a relaxing atmosphere.The service was excellent. Disappointed. Menu says:- Jacket potato, various fillings £6. 85. Get the bill, added £2 for the filling. Really!!! When querying this landlord didn't have the courtesy to speak to us direct, but put his member of staff in an awkward position - twice! Wrong attitude, should have come out and spoken to us instead of hiding in the back. Won't be returning for a while

Good food at value for money prices. Friendly staff. Quite busy so you need to book in advance, to not be disappointed. Parking can be a little difficult but well worth the effort.

6 of us went fir a Sunday lunch which came plates up for you. They had put the gravy on the dinner which was too much I thought cabbage was a little bit over cooked but every else was nice. Pleasant staff and quick service. They have decorated there since I last went and it was much better, yes we would go again though.

Hubby and I popped in for a quick drink and a nose today as we live locally but have never ventured inside. Unfortunately we couldnt eat as they only take cash which was disappointing. Luckily we had enough cash on us for 1 drink each. Lovely feel to the bar area with friendly staff and a home from home ambience. I expect the winter nights are very cosy there. Will be back with cash to try the Sunday lunch.

This afternoon visited the Queens Head for my aunties 90th birthday celebrations. Outstanding Sunday lunch! the food, service and ambiance is quite unique. A definite recommendation for anyone who recognises and expects top quality. Do Yourself a favour visit this place you won’t be disappointed!

I went for the fish and chips home cooked chips which were amazing. The fish was massive all freshly cooked which melted in my mouth all dishes were well presented. Staff are friendly would recommend book to avoid disappointment

Went here for Sunday lunch the other week with the wife. Place is a proper traditional old style pub with a lovely roaring fire and friendly helpful landlord and staff. Really nice welcoming atmosphere. We both had a beef Sunday lunch which was very tasty n fresh beef was very tasty n tender melt in mouth didn't try desert as full after diner. Would recommend and will return really nice .

Very welcoming Landlord and staff, making you feel at home. The Menu whilst small has excellent choice for a Pub meal. The food was piping hot, fresh and plentiful and very tasty. The staff go out of their way to accommodate your wishes. Cannot fault any part of this experience in the Queens head. Far superior food and service to the normal chain pubs. Would go there every time for good wholesome food. Oh and beer good too.

an owner run free house serving fabulous food, breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great pint and an excellent alternative from the same old chains and managed pubs that are closing down every week. Great for families with the beer garden and kids park across the road. Owned and run by people who care about what they do. Love it.

The Queens Head does 'Pub Grub' and does it very well. The interior decor is unique and definitely not out of the corporate pub chain order list. Sunday lunch is the crowning glory - mmmmm gravy.

We booked a table in the evening for a anniversary meal.when we arrived,we couldn't Park anywhere, the car park was full and outside the houses opposite there was no parking place either,we finally found a space right at the end of the street.got to the entrance of the pub which was at the back,no lights lighting up the path,with heels on,was a bit dodgy.as far as the actual meals goes,they were was ok,there were 4 of us,the chicken+ leek pie had no leeks in and was lacking the "creamy sauce" it was dry,the game pie red wine juice was too salty,the scampi's batter was soft and soggy, the only "ok" meal was the chicken in garlic sauce,which could have done with a bit more garlic.sorry we won't be returning.the staff were friendly though.

This is a great pub which serves excellent food. The staff are friendly & acommodating each and every time we visit. We drive 11 miles for sunday roast quite regularly and feel it is well worth the drive. Trevor always seems happy at his job and takes time out to talk to us. Thank you Queens. See you soon.

The food is amazing, the Sunday dinners are the best homemade cooked dinners around. Friendly staff and a lovely cosy atmosphere. There's a little park just outside so great for the kids too.

El Queens Head acomodaron nuestro grupo grande de amigos y familiares a mis hijas celebarte 18 cumpleaños en muy corto plazo (otro lugar tuvimos que cancelar en el día, debido a un incendio) que sirve comidas de 25 y cada uno de ellos fue excelente. He estado en el pub antes y siempre han recibido un servicio de alta calidad y la comida. Gracias por ayudarnos de fuera nos alegró el día!

Walk from train to Shoni's pond and on and on through thick Forrest blackberries shoe losing bog and over barb wire fences completely lost but across sheep paddock disturbing the girls till finding a road which led to the Queens Head a cold beer cup of tea and a bus ride back to Pontypridd train and Cardiff

Fui un jueves noche tranquila, tenía un perro fresh me dio la bienvenida en el parque de coche, entonces el dueño (Trev') no hizo nada. La comida ordenados, para mí y la Sra., luego googled la clasificación de higiene alimentaria (1) que no se muestra en cualquier lugar. Comida llegamos y, aunque se estaba bien, sabía muy seco y 'caliente' como la mujer descrita. Charlando con un local en el bar (visto posteriormente bebida de conducir por la colina) dijo que la comida es todo prepped fuera del sitio porque las cocinas están demasiado sucia. No volveremos.

Un poco alejado del general Persona supongo que, aunque han pasado muchas veces hacia y desde el trabajo. El servicio es excelente. Sirve comida ordenados y rápidamente. caliente y muy sabrosa. El personal está atento. La gente parece un buen grupo. Sin duda, volveremos. Gracias.

Las mesas donde reservados para nosotros [ 8 personas.] la bienvenida que recibimos fue genial. La comida que pedimos 5 diferentes platos donde se entregan juntos sin esperas, y estaba muy bien presentada. la calidad era magnífico. Lo recomiendo.

What can I say stopped off on the way home for lunch they had two menus there normal day time menu and there two for ten pounds menu. We choose the 2 for 10 Linsay had ham egg and chips and I had sausage and mash peas and gravy. We both enjoyed our meal. Good value for money.

been there on five occasions and never had a bad meal . the chips are like door stops . that's what we were told , before we went there for the first time. yeah yeah was our reply. until we received our meal . proper chips was my answer not frozen and like door stops .
