We were travelling between Sandringham and Norwich and needed food. We stopped here and looked at Trip Advisor reviews. They were good so in we go. The extremely friendly and welcoming landlord/owner made us very welcome and informed us only roasts were on offer. We opted for a beef and a pork roast. What a massive helping. Great pub food. Loads of vegetables and meat nicely cooked and presented. Well worth dropping in.👍

Queen of Hearts is a good traditional English public house ,serving good traditional English food. There is also a specials board. Like most traditional pubs it could do with a fresh coat of paint Possibly some new furniture.(Sorry Landlady) I know these things take lots of time and money. Great pub, filling food, lovely people.

First impressions were a small local pub from outside, welcomed the minute we approached the door which made us feel very welcome (some places you just feel awkward!!) sanitizer available as you come in, some use of masks. Drinks served swiftly as we sat at table and when we received bill we were very pleased how cheap they were, only £3.80 a pint of lager and my OJ and bitter lemon also reasonable ❤️. Having read the reviews just had to try the pie (wasn’t on menu but offered on ordering, not sure why?)in fact all 3 of us did they were so delish I had lamb and mint with mash, hubby had steak and son had chicken and mushroom with chips. The chips were crispy and peas were only veg with them, can’t remember if there were any other veg on offer for extra, I would of liked one more veg on plate and would add more colour but hubby wouldn’t My sons pie didn’t have gravy inside so a little dry for him but that was no trouble because the lady soon brought a free jug of gravy to him when asked I couldn’t finish mine as was so full (1lb of meat in each pie!!!) glad I didn’t have a starter and unfortunately couldn’t fit in a pud son left some but still had a pud he opted for apple pie which came swimming in custard and he said was ok. If you want a good old home cooked pub meal and like to support small businesses come here as you won’t be disappointed, we will be back, well done for reopening in these difficult times

On the drive back towards Norwich from Guist/Wood Norton we wanted a pub lunch. The Queen of Hearts was the first stop on the way so stop we did.Firstly, the staff we very welcoming which really set the mood. Too many times pubs like this in small villages give you a weird look when you walk in... but not here. Our patronage felt valued and it was very well received. We had fish fingers with chips for the little one... who after letting it cool down inhaled her food. Also on order was the Queens Club Sandwich, basically a BLT with shredded cheddar. Tasty enough and exactly as to be expected. Lastly, the star of the show... a steak and ale pie. Was very chuffed to see it was a proper pie with wonderful pastry and chock full of steak. We commented we probably could have split it between the two of us. I’d go back for the pie alone... working through trying each variation.Drinks wise, pretty standard selection you’d see in a pub... though the Belhaven Black on draft was a pleasant surprise. As mentioned already, but deserved repeating, the staff were sooo welcoming and friendly. Even the local regulars that came in took the time to say hello and be friendly towards our daughter. Wonderful little area there in Lenwade.Whole heartedly would recommend a stop if you’re coming or going and want a friendly visit with decent food.

This establishment on the main road from Norwich to Fakenham in Lenwade has been a cafe restaurant for as long as I can remember and was previously called Maxims and changed ownership a couple of years ago and I had not called in as it appeared from what was advertised outside had rebranded itself as a pub restaurant and Lenwade was already well served by a local Pub The Bridge Inn. On looking through Trip Advisor myself I noticed The Queen of Hearts was specialising in homemade pies and as a big fan of proper pies I decided recently on a Saturday lunchtime on the way back from Norwich to pop in with my wife for a pie. It was past the witching hour of 1 pm and it was quiet with only two other people dining however we received a warm welcome from the lady in charge. We picked a table in the back of the restaurant against the wall back from the bar area. The floor furniture and walls were all dark coloured and hence the whole ambiance was a little dull. As the basic layout and decoration was as I remembered it I feel a complete redecoration would probably increase patronage. We ordered some drinks and looked through the menu most of the usual pub favourites were on offer liver and bacon, hot pot and a formidable list of homemade pies each containing a pound of meat. My wife not being a huge eater and not a crust lover ordered the hot pot a good mixture of meat and vegetables when it was presented with crusty bread still a wholesome meal. I picked the steak pie it came with a generous amount of gravy green vegetables and mash potatoes. It was a round proper pie three inches tall with crust all around the delicious tasty steak and ale filling. Certainly a generous pound of meat everything I had hoped. The pastry was shortcrust and my only suggestion that might have added something to this pie was for the pastry to have been cooked a little more to make it even firmer but that’s a personal choice. For around ten pounds each I can not praise the meals too highly for quantity price and presentation my wife felt the meat in her hot pot could have been cooked slightly longer to have tenderised it a little more again this is probably a personal thing but I mention it as it may be helpful. Overall a pie experience to savour. If you enjoy a filling surrounded by pastry an excellent variety of these proper pies are on offer at the Queen of Hearts.

We visited whilst staying 2 nights at the Lenwade House Hotel.Having eaten in the hotel on night 1 as it rained we decided to go here for night 2, just a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. As soon as we arrived we were made most welcome by the owners. I had a local beer (2 in the end) and my wife white wine. I chose to have a steak and kidney pie and my wife lamb shank. It was a proper pie with a bottom, top and sides! I'm not saying it is the best pie I have ever had but I can't remember ever having a better one. I chose to have it with chips and peas. There were several other pie choices. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the lamb which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both courses were so filling we had to share a bread and butter pudding. All in all an excellent meal and somewhere I'd heartily recommend. Well done.

What a lovely pub. A lovely couple clearly love what they do and welcomed us from the moment we arrived, hungry from a day at the Pleasure Beach. They are proud of their pub and quite rightly so! We ate pretty much across the menu between the 6 of us and every item was lovely. From Roast beef, to a curry, home made 1lb pie, pork belly to sea food, all home cooked and delicious. The lovely young chef even came out to apologise personally for an item not being available as she was still cooking it! Rhubarb cider was amazing too! Only here on holiday, but I would gladly move to have this pub as my local! Despertely trying to fit in another visit before we go home!

This is a traditional pub, very friendly staff. With good pub grub, the steak was excellent as was the whitebait. The fish pie not so good. Overall very good and well worth a visit.

We had two 12 oz. steak dinners that were great. The landlord and landlady gave us a great welcome...and even the chef ...They had time to talk and listen to us...a rarity now a days...We will definitely go back again when in the area.

The staff are very welcoming and there are lots of tables and several rooms if you want to sit away from the main bar. The food is obviously all made in the pub and what you expect but very rarely get from pub food these days. The carvery is the best I’ve had in a pub. Today we had homemade chicken pie with huge chunks of chicken breast. Simple food very well executed.

Luckily found the pub by accident and had a great Sunday lunch. Thankfully TripAdvisor's review was spot on. Burned our hearty meals off on the Marriott's walk.

We were staying at a local hotel and googled restaurants for an evening meal. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the landlord was stoking up the fire, which was very welcomed at that time. We had a choice of eating in the bar area or in the dining room, we opted for bar as it more cosey. Ordered steak and chips which came out all freshly cooked but was over whelmed by the size of the dish. Underneath all of the food was a 10oz rump steak. It was very tasty all round but was too much and could not manage to eat it all. Had pear crumble for dessert not too keen on that as crumble was a little soggy prefer it to be more crunchy.

Called here yesterday for a Sunday Lunch with our granddaughter and her young man. As other people have said we were made very welcome. The Hosts are very friendly and helpful, and cannot do enough for you. My wife had the cavery which was very very good. My beef was absolutely delicious and tender, and my wife said here pork was the same. The portions were very generous and there was a good selection of vegetables. It was all piping hot and served on lovelt HOT PLATES. which is a real change, so many places serve food on cold plates. Our grandaughter had the cottage pie which said said was lovely. All in all, once again an excellent meal. The QUEEN is well worth a visit.

An enthusiastic welcome and "large" servings with quite a good range of vegetables. Personally I would have "traded" a little less meat for a better cut of beef but, in its class, the Queen of Hearts is good value for money

The lady at the bar was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We arrived on a Sunday Lunch time and they usually serve roasts, we were offered cold snacks (this was all we were after) and didn't feel like we were putting the chef out.

Have passed this many times and called in today for a cheese scone and coffee. Lovely to have the scone warm. Very friendly. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble, encouraging regulars to make sure they got their healthy veg.

What an amazing find. A lovely hidden gem of an olde worlde pub tucked away in a beautiful secluded village. The food was delicious and the portions humongous. The pies were family sized, home made and impossible to eat all of it. Everything was served fresh, hot and by really helpful and accommodating staff. If I could give 8 stars, I would. The ales were good and the atmosphere very inviting. I booked a for a party of six, 1 in a wheelchair and two dogs. Everyone enjoyed the experience immensely. 👌
