We have been to The Parson Woodforde several times since moving to the local area. It's a lovely pub and restaurant that feels great any time of year. It's equally good to enjoy a dinner meal and refreshments, as it is to experience the warmth of the log fire and cozy feel in winter. The food and selection of ales is top drawer. The staff are always friendly and polite but occasionally, we have experienced slow service. The decor is lovely and everything you'd expect from an established country pub. We haven't stayed overnight but imagine that would be lovely too. A well recommended pub.

Stayed for a work trip, the bed was the comfiest bed ever!! Marie was so lovely and food was amazing! Great little find.

What an outstanding place for food and the decor, atmosphere and staff add to the experience. The Monk Fish Curry was amazing and the portion sizes are plentiful. I followed this with the Eton Mess which again was beautiful. Sadly I’m not local so can’t easily return.

A wonderful hidden gem! A well maintained characteristic building, very picturesque and a cosy atmosphere inside. Staff were friendly and welcoming, very attentive, as they looked after all the customers during the busy dinner service. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked by talented chefs! Thank you all for a wonderful evening! Definitely, highly recommend The Parson Woodforde to everyone!

Had a beautiful dinner here last night with my sister in laws! Lovely vibe inside! Staff all very kind/helpful and friendly! Will most definitely be revisiting. Food was delicious! Good choice of food with choice of specials.

Although not busy, staff were very slow at taking and delivering orders. Asked for tap water which never materialised. Food took a long time and burnt chips covered up by overdone upside down fish. Other meals not enjoyed either. Couldn’t get attention of staff to comment. After desserts we waited for 45 minutes before asked if we wanted coffee. Overcharged for two drinks on bill. Not an enjoyable evening.

We went for my wife’s birthday last night We arrived and asked for a red wine and pint of Peroni, to be told there was no Peroni and no other draught lagers !! I asked what bottles of lager do you have to be told none !!! I noticed a bottled lager in the fridge so ordered that !!! Waited ages for our order to be taken, in fact 5 minutes later and we would have walked out. The food was ok, had to ask for dessert menus and they took ages to arrive, when they came they were the Wednesday lunch menus !! Had to ask again for them, and when they came I ordered a jam sponge and custard with a ball of vanilla ice cream, the dessert was lovely tbh. Paid the bill and noticed this morning they charged me £3.95 for the one ball of ice cream, by that count I make it £12 for a three ball portion!! Needless to say we shall not be returning !!!

Stayed for 3 nights rooms are great and comfortable and breakfast and dinner was amazing and the person was great to I stay in many hotels and be far this is the best one could not knock anything would recommend to anyone

Wow! What a treat! A real olde worlde pub, with amazing food and a beautiful ambience. We were lucky enough to see the bedrooms, which looked really comfortable. All in all a great place, run by the welcoming Marie and Mark. We will return!

The best food I've eaten in a very long time ! The men u selection was large and the special s menu sounded amazing! I loved my Sea bass dish ! Definitely recommend this place !

I delivered a wine cooler here recently. As an ex publican of 20 years my first impression was " what a great place" The menu looked great and reasonably priced. I didn't sample what was on offer but would do under different circumstances

Stopped in either a couple friends for a bite to lunch. All the staff were helpful and welcoming also food was amazing. Definitely a good day out for Sunday lunch

Feel I need to inform people before they spend their hard earned money here. We went as a family of four for Sunday lunch. We ordered three sodas and blackcurrants which were delivered as pints without confirming with us that that was our request. (One was for an 8 year old). When questioned the waitress thought that’s what we wanted. I think this was purely a training issue she was very young and seemed inexperienced as did most of the staff. We were served very quickly with our roast lunch. The food was of an ok standard, some of the veg was hard and the adult roast contained two slices of meat so we were left hungry. The service was terrible. We asked for sauces and before we could finish asking, the very abrupt waitress had turned and gone. She came back when we had nearly finished our food with sauces no spoons. That was strangle but we used our knives. We then asked for apple sauce (as she left b4 we could finish speaking), to then listen to her telling a few of the other staff several times that sauces hadn’t been done. Always nice to listen to! We were seated in the corner of an empty section so this same waitress came over and asked us where our friends were and then continued to laugh and apologise for seating us alone and that they thought they had more customers joining us. She was very odd. We didn’t stay for desert as we felt ripped off spending £17.95 for a roast and to be left hungry. Wasn’t going pay a further £10 for a dessert. My partner discussed the pint of soda and blackcurrant with the abrupt waitress when he paid the bill. So during their exchange she took the opportunity to tell the waitress off who served us while he was standing there. He felt very uncomfortable and felt sorry for the young girl. This wasn’t our previous experience of this restaurant and have been a number of times, not sure if it is under new ownership? I’m aware that food prices are high and venues have not choice but to charge what they do, however we didn’t feel that we had value for money and don’t think we would return.

Having just returned home from staying at the parsons Woodforde for a week i could not fault it for the duration of my stay. The room was spotless ,the food was excellent and the staff were all polite and friendly . Maria and Mark owners were excellent and very friendly. would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch. The service was top class and the food was absolutely delicious!!!! We will definitely be coming here again soon. Well done to all of you !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Lovely Sunday roast and alternative menu choices available. We were a family party of 11 and the service was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals. Would highly recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights, the room was lovely and seriously comfy bed, very clean and the best hot chocolate in the room. Service was outstanding and so friendly, and in such a beautiful location. The food was just out of this world really enjoyed it. Good value for money. Definitely recommend and will definitely stay there again.

What a disappointment Will never return been here for the first time and turned away for four drinks at 430 after a walk with my family and dogs. Go do something else if you don’t like your current job staff and management get someone else In.

Unable to check in at 7pm! check in had closed at 6pm! Manager refused to refund my 2 nights stay despite not allowing me to check in.

I do not come from Norwich. I visited this pub with my daughter and her family on Raster saturday for lunch. My son in law suggested I try a ping of Golden Jackel bitter. The beer was absolutely discusting.l;it was thick I could not see it. I reauested it to be changed. This was refused by the landlady who said " there is nothing wrong with the beer" Its the worst pint I think I ve had in my 78 years. I will never set foot in that pub evef again.

Me and my wife went out for a evening meal at parson Woodford Norwich I was absolutely disappointed with the service and food, I will not be returning, spoke to Alison the manager and she wasn’t much help either quite rude and told us that she doesn’t care if we was going to write a review….. We have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years on and off. Was highly disappointed

We stayed the night after having a wonderful lunch from their extensive menu. The bedroom was exceptionally spacious and very comfortable and our breakfasts were excellent. Allison is a wonderful host and her staff are all friendly and efficient. A perfect stay. Next time we're in Norfolk this is where we'll head for.

Went for a birthday meal. We was a large group the service was good. Food was good. And there was plenty of place to park. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely rooms, a very comfortable nights stay and after a good rest we enjoyed an absolutely fantastic breakfast. The staff are all so warm and friendly, they can’t do enough to help and provide excellent customer service. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely be back again

A lovely pub/hotel serving freshly made food and real ales. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and come with complimentary tea, coffee, and bottles of water. The breakfast is superb, full of local produce, and cooked perfectly. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They went above and beyond to resolve a small issue I had, and I couldn't compliment them enough. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a shame although it was still early seemed staff wanted to go home.Were pressured so they could switch off the coffee machine.Also to close the bar at 10 pm.Dark haired woman was keen to go home..web site says open till 11. This was poor customer service.

Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions ( I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended.

After a disappointing customer experience I wrote to express my feelings in a very polite way. Obviously the owner has never heard the expression ‘the customer is always right’. Instead of a simple ‘sorry we did not meet your expectations’ and an explanation the owner dismissed my comments and replied in much the same vein as she does with anyone who dares to have an opinion. She is so rude and dismissive of even constructive criticism. Just as well she owns the place or she’d be sacked.

Fantastic dinner! Food here is delicious and reasonably priced. We had the pork belly, prawn bruschetta, sea bass, steak salad and 2 puddings (which they kindly gave us to take away as we were so full from dinner!) lemon tart and brownie. Cannot fault anything about this meal and we are so happy we went.

Food was of a good standard, well presented and with attentive service. Highly recommended as it is the best I have found in the area.

Didn't stay overnight, visited a friend foor food etc. Lovely pub, has all the old features. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. They enjoy visits from dogs too with a designated area indoors and the garden to the rear/side. Beautiful surroundings, really recommend! 😀

Stayed here 01/09/23, in room 1. Beautiful building. Host (Alison?) Was so lovely and helpful. She even arranged our taxi to and from our event. Room was clean, bed super soft and comfy. Has tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer in the drawer and a fan in the wardrobe. Iron and ironing board can be requested. Room was very warm but the windows do open and we put the fan on. Had a full English breakfast (included), which was very tasty, tea, coffee and fresh juices also offered. We will definitely be stating there again in the future.

My family and I enjoyed an amazing meal with our two children on bank holiday Monday. Amazing meals, brilliant service, great selection of ales, fab kids menu (the kids menu pizzas were exceptional) and even the dog was made a fuss of! Thank you - we'll be back soon!

We had a brilliant Sunday lunch here with friends on the August Bank Holiday weekend. We were well accommodated for with our toddler and 2 under 5s. The service was spot on and staff were very attentive. The food was great quality, generously portioned and reasonably priced. We all enjoyed starters, a roast for main and puddings. The ambience was lovely and we felt very well looked after.

Last minute booking but won’t be the last time. What a find, we could not believe how helpful, kind and considerate they were. They went the extra mile and allowed us to pick keys up early. They found us a table for Sunday lunch even though they were fully booked. Breakfast was amazing, we didn’t need to eat all day. 10/10 for everything. Thank you.

What an absolute find . Such a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are so welcoming . Stayed here in room 1 last night having a great nights sleep in a comfy super king bed and great size room. Greeted this morning for breakfast by the lovely chirpy landlady and provided tasty plentiful breakfast . Perfect break would recommend to all 10/10

Anniversary meal. Great quality food. 2 or 3 course lunch menu excellent value. Unfortunately only 1 vegetarian option,so I chose from the regular menu.

I only went for a meal which was amazing - 7 of us, and all meals enjoyed. Father in law stayed in a room and said the bed was the most comfortable bed ever and spacious too.

I stayed here as a solo female traveller on business, and I couldn't have felt more welcomed and looked after. Firstly, my room was absolutely immaculate and nicely decorated with some nice touches such as bottled water etc. The staff were all lovely, but Luke in particular, was so happy, friendly and attentive, he is an absolute diamond! Every business should have a "Luke" working for them. As a gluten-free diner, it was great to see such a large selection of meals available on the menu, and the breakfast options were spot on! Food was presented nicely, with large portions and tasted amazing! The only fault in my whole stay was the TV in the room was a bit sketchy. The volume kept dropping in and out, and the reception was very poor, making it hard to watch anything at all. Overall, this is a fantastic establishment, and I hope to be back soon!!

We stayed overnight in this interesting and simply delightful inn where we enjoyed first class hospitality. According to my husband, the beer was good too! Even during mid-week it was full of diners but did not feel at all crowded. The service was friendly and efficient. Our room was perfect. There's a wonderful history to the Parson Woodforde, which our hosts were delighted to share with us and which we explored further in the nearby church. We would love to return there one day.

Been going here for years, as my local. Its a nice place with reasonable food, however, the owners have lost the pub atmosphere entirely - its just a restaurant, with ridiculous beer prices. They've passed the price increases directly on to the beer customer, by their own admission, which is unfair. I go only once a month, now, instead of twice a week. Is it a pub, a restaurant, or just a hobby ? Worth a visit to decide.

Really lovely meal, good steak and lovely dessert. Steak cooked perfectly. Chips really chunky and tasty. Mushrooms also cooked perfectly. Puddings - sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie.

Good quality food, including tender calves liver with bacon. Generous portions. Well priced. Friendly and efficient staff. Busy. Would suggest booking to eat in the bar area as we did, the big restaurant area is a little soulless.
