Quayside Sandwich in Dover

Just had the most amazing roast at The Quayside, I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve had in a very long time, everything was cooked to perfection, loads of veg and gravy, the roast potatoes were spectacular! If you’re looking for a roast dinner then I highly recommend The Quayside, not only is the food good but the staff are attentive and friendly giving off a very warm welcome as you arrive. Well done to all the team, we will be back very soon.

A friend and I visited the quayside for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Great atmosphere , warm and friendly welcome. Breakfast was one of the best Iv had, great value for money . I would go again!

What can I say We have been many times in the past but due to work it’s been a few months since the last visit We decided last minute to go over of an evening and was astounded by the changes that have occurred. A revamped that really makes a difference without losing its charm and unique, alfresco tented experience. It was very cold outside but the new diesel heated hot air system was superb. We were warmer than sat at home in the front room. We both opted for the beef stew and dumplings and it lived up to our expectations. The beef melted in the mouth, the dumplings light and fluffy with the crispy warm bread the perfect accompaniment. The staff are always friendly and attentive without being in your face Next visit already planned for Burns Night, we went last year and it was banging ……. Lovely location, beside the river in beautiful Sandwich. The staff are very friendly and the drinks and food reasonably priced. We have always found the food fresh and the portions large. Really good value. To cap it all off there is a good selection of drinks, always served with a smile. It is a spacious venue, with lots of tables and comfy seating spread out nicely. I really like the fact that you can just come for a drink without feeling any pressure to eat. It is always a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Regular quality live music acts and events are hosted throughout the year. It is a lovely venue for music. In summary it is a refreshing addition to Sandwich, which compliments the many other traditional pubs and restaurants in the town. Highly Recommended!!!

Were given a warm welcome on arrival, and were the only ones eating in the restaurant. Food was lovely, and freshly cooked. There was a lot of choice for the main menu but not a lot of choice for desserts. The only downside was that it was rather chilly - they could do with some indoor heating.

The roast was amazing couldn't fault it . Great music great atmosphere. Li key bar staff and a little gem tucked away . Don't miss it guys

It was recommended to us by an acquaintance, so we thought it was worth a try . Sadly it did not live up to the recommendation on our visit . The staff who were really friendly were at sixes and sevens and getting confused with orders , both drinks and meals and it felt like frustration was creeping in. Condiments were requested by us and failed to arrive , drinks arrived we had not ordered etc etc. The food was in two groups , edible and inedible . My wife's fish n chips lor example looked like the fish had been on a diet , the batter was a funny yellow colour and was not cooked through , so the fish was unpleasant. The staff were good and took it off the bill when it was pointed out

We spotted the bar and grill from across the river. It was instantly appealing and despite looking very busy we tried our luck! On arrival we were greeted at the entrance by a polite young man who made room for us. To say it has a wonderful atmosphere is an understatement! A mix of tables and chairs as well as sofa's. Vibrant and at the same time relaxing. All the customers appeared relaxed and enjoying their time there. Harry was very attentive and certainly made for hospitality as he was faultless and made us feel very welcome and at ease. The menu offered a range of food at very reasonable prices and it was delicious and of generous proportions! Definitely the place to go if in Sandwich and we will certainly be returning to our new favourite place in town!

Great location with comforting contingicies for weather changes being outside eating only. Nice and friendly indeed. 2 FNC and a pint of prawns it is then. The prawns nicely presented until they fell while being put on table only to fall into servers hand as a few toppled to the floor. Slightly acceptable until halfway in something appears…so stop eating the prawns until server came to explain slice of apple amongst prawns.. scratch that! 2 x FNC, I do like to focus on positive while giving honest review so those chips were BANGING… the fish however appeared to have been starved flattened and fried within a inch of disappearing completely was thin and unlike what you expect from FNC yet both looked the same thin over cooked and unacceptable! The server seemed nice enough yet appeared to be in a dream world and floated about as if she had no idea or focus. The bill never came so my Wife went to the bar to sort out the bill. The staff was very accommodating to allow wheelchair access. Some of the other food offerings looked lovely and lots of burning smellls about. Sorry Sofia, if that was your brother cooking, he either didn’t like the look of us or had been shown to cook fish that has its own greasy poor battered tasteless offering!

Superb! Most impressed with our first visit to this wonderful establishment by the river. A lovely relaxed feel. Very pleasant and attentive staff ( Phoebe did a great job despite being very busy - as did everyone) Excellent choices on the menu to cover all tastes. We opted ( four of us) for whitebait, pulled pork with loaded fries, king prawns with chilli and garlic and a giant fish finger sandwich…. All a delight! A pint of beer and a glass of red wine washed all down magnificently! Very reasonable prices to add . Certainly will be back …. Great food. Great place. Great prices… need you want more?….Hats off to you all and thankyou 🍻😁😋

Came here on spec. Loved it. Very good menu, lovely people and pleasant prices. Will be back. A lot. This riverside area is becoming a foodie mecca, but this is one of the best. On a summer day it is lovely.

Fabulous food and great atmosphere. Very obliging and fitted us in for dinner on a very busy bank holiday Sunday. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Been meaning to visit this gem of a place for ages as heard such great things about it. We were not disappointed! Fabulous location on the river set in a gorgeous and beautifully decorated marquee. We were made so welcome by the FOH team and enjoyed a really tasty and good value meal with delicious wines and ambiance. Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back to spend another evening in the company of the lovely Lisa and her team.
