Quayside Café Bar and Restaurant (Golden Sands) in East Lindsey

Took 30 minutes to be seated even though we made a reservation, table wasn’t level and was filthy. Asked to be relocated to be told there isn’t anymore table. Had to queue an extra 45 minutes just to order food that had an hour wait

I don’t think the food could be any worse than what I was served while visiting this restaurant. Each meal was about £14 but realistically it wasn’t worth half of that. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with this and go to McDonald’s 👍🏼👍🏼

After being told to book on previous days when we’d turned up and been refused a table, we booked in tonight for 6:30pm for 2 adults and 2 kids. One of the kids is coeliac and we’ve struggled to find places on site that can cater for her allergies so this was the best option as we didn’t feel like driving out of the site. This place had its own GF menu which is nice as it’s crazy how many places aren’t clued up on allergens so eating out can be difficult. As soon as we arrived before being seated we were immediately told it was an hour wait on food. Not gonna lie, a little disappointing considering we pre booked a table and the kids are only young but we felt we had no choice but to agree with that as we’d no other option at that point. We ordered starters and mains as we were all super hungry as we’d been saving ourselves for this meal. An hour and 20 mins later one of the servers approached us asking if we still wanted our starters as starters, or shall they just bring everything out. We just agreed to that as at this point the kids were getting hangry🤣 we ordered extra drinks on the app when our food was eventually put on the table, about 20 mins had passed and we were nearing the end of our meal, all had empty glasses and our drinks still hadn’t arrived so that wasn’t great. Had to chase someone down to remind them. The food was nice but I think the super long wait time on food just dampened the night for us. I would understand if we’d turned up on a whim and told it was a long wait for food. But as we pre booked this place it just maybe felt as if they’d overbooked themselves for more money?

Bad service, was told that we were not able to order from the breakfast menu when it was 11:05 and the menu finished at 11:30. Was told that they were busy with tickets and lots of orders so they physically were not allowed to serve us, even from the dinner menu at 12. I am beyond appalled and frustrated.

Stayed at Golden Sands Mon-Wed this week, used the Quayside for convenience only. Not great, food is average; although, reasonably priced with some good offers if you eat at the right time. Unfortunately, if you don’t have the app, it can be an effort to order on your phone at the table and service timing is hit n miss. Oh and if you don’t book a table after 4pm…they won’t appreciate it. 2nd day eating there, I asked for a dish without raw onion, was told that was fine. 20 minutes later the waiter came back and said the dish was pre-prepared with raw onion, so I selected another dish, double checked it has no raw onion with the waiter, asked him if he was sure and all seemed good. Another 15 minutes later a waitress came over and asked if I’d like to order something different, I explained I’d already done that, only for her to tell me that that second dish was also pre-prepared with onion too, so I had to order a 3rd item. My son had finished his meal before I even got mine. Not great. 3rd day and there was no front of house staff greeting people, instead, they used a sign that said ‘find your own seat and order on the app or table QR code’ (or something like that). Ordered the food, waited nearly 50 minutes for a bowl of fries and a wrap. Lots of other tables also waited ages and lots of tables that ordered after us got food before us. The table next to us complained, but the waitress said that there was a 45 minute wait on food. Unfortunately there was no one telling you that before you ordered so no idea of knowing. If we had known that I would have eaten elsewhere, as my 8 year old don’t appreciate the long wait. Not sure why they were struggling, as it was lunch sitting and the restaurant was barely half full. I’d visit Golden sands again, but not fussed about eating in the Quayside restaurant again, it’s just not good enough to warrant it, sorry guys.

Very overpriced for the actual quality of food you get. The buttermilk crispy chicken was cooked that much there was no chicken left in it. The classic burger was absolutely vile. Luckily the kids meals cost us £1 which to be fair was probably the right value for it. Service was very poor. Nobody really interested. Took around 35 mins for food and it was not red hot. We won't be coming back here even as an owner on the haven site

I can not express how impressed I am with the staff here. I have ran pubs for 15 years and I would kill to have staff like the staff in this pub. They don’t stop. They are committed to good service and cleanliness and I have never been so impressed with a staff in a restaurant/bar in my career. Such great attitudes and work ethic. GARY IS A SUPER STAR! Never stops and does the job with incredible enthusiasm and attitude. Even the new members o staff have exceeded my expectations. I can’t recommend this place enough, thank you for making our holiday comfortable and making us feel safe and welcome. Hopefully, this continue for our whole stay

Is sinilar to a marston/harvester pub. Has a gluten free menu, small print on the menu suggests there are no dedicated gf fryers, but there is a gluten free sticky toffee pudding (!!!) There is wheel chair access throughout and a dog friendly area

Lovely food, Chicken tikka is amazing, and Sunday roast is great value at 2 for £18. Dog friendly area provided and very helpful, friendly staff. Will definitely be back

food we waited well over an hour.when it came all the meals were cold. The tables were dirty and sticky. Staff to old in polite.so never again Terrible.

Absolutely terrible.we went in it was near enough empty the couple before us where sent away they where told it was fully booked..it wasn't !.we waited over an hour for chicken burgers.and a dish of spaghetti Bolognese.I was looking at the counter noticed our meal was being put there by someone.along came another cook grabbed a handful of fries off our plate as he did he looked straight at our table realised I was looking and promptly threw the chips on the floor.he was going to eat them but caught me looking at him.my burger was stone cold and my granddaughters spaghetti Bolognese was inedible that meal cost me just shy of £50 it must be family run the staff are to old and ignorant.and the young just walk past dirty tables..Go to the Ferry Inn across the road near the seal sanctuary delicious.And lovely staff.

Typical holiday resort food. Expensive and not very nice. I had the steak which tasted burnt, my husband had gammon, which was thin like bacon. Nice looking pub, but food let if down.

The first time we tried to go ( last year) it was booked up, this year we were told there'd be a 50 minute wait so didn't bother. We couldn't book because we didn't know what time we would be arriving. I'm sure the food is ok , maybe I'll get to try it one day!!

If I could give no stars for the food I would. After waiting nearly 40 minutes for our burgers they turned up just warm. Chips were tepid and the only nice thing we could say about the food was the coleslaw was nice. Disgusting food. Husband only ate his as he was starving. Save your money and eat elsewhere

To look at, the Quayside restaurant is actually rather nice. A large area with plenty of room and some nice decorations to boot. Sadly, the food doesn't live up to the standard. We arrived pretty late on our first night with around 40 minutes of food service remaining, to rude stares from the waitress. The chicken burgers and chips that arrived soon after was pretty grim to say the least, with the buns falling apart and the chips stone cold. It was pretty clear the kitchen staff thought screw you we're not cooking up fresh at this time and served us pre made chips. With two ciders, this cost us close to £40!! Extortionate prices for the standard served. The next morning we headed down for a coffee to find the restaurant almost empty. Those that had ordered the Full English Breakfast obviously wasn't impressed by how much food was left (see pictures). Despite the restaurant been empty, these plates weren't cleared by staff the entire time we were there for our coffees. Honestly, this place is an extortionate cash grab with very standard/poor food. Save your money and taste buds and head somewhere else. Just read the other reviews yourself.

Quayside cafe and restaurant is a massive room with plenty of seating areas. we were on holiday for a week and we went in and there were plenty of empty tables so we asked the gentleman at the door and he said they fully booked and this was at 7 pm. So if you want to come here, book a day before. we book a table next day and the staff are very friendly they give children crayons and pictures to colour while you wait. The food itself is okay. The hunters chicken was small, especially for the price you pay. You can order from the table or a waiter will come round and help you order. It is a very clean place with seating upstairs and downstairs

Very pleased that dogs were allowed in but that is where the good part of the experience ends. We had about an hour's wait for the food and when it arrived, sadly everybody complained because it was cold. The portions were quite small and compared to other local food establishments, quite expensive (some will say you pay for the convenience but with Mablethorpe so close, I disagree). After being served, nobody came back to ask how the food was and nobody cleared or cleaned the dirty tables around us.

The service at this place is awful, the manager Jade was very unhelpful. The dining tables has a overhanging play cetre which kids would throw things over the banister onto people's food. Terrible place, go somewhere else. And Jade needs a lesson in customer service.

Over charges for beer, over £11 for to pints and the larger was flat, served in crappie plastic cups, disgusting when it's soo expensive.

This was our first visit and we were very disappointed, service was very slow, staff didn't seem to care, took ages to get served, food was bland, we probably won't be visiting again.

the food is basically all microwaved and arrived 40 minutes after we arrived, drinks didn't even arrive untill we asked for them as well as CUTLERY. don't recommend the price is not fair for the food, no wonder why the portion is big because they have to get rid of stock. the atmosphere is nice at least the cleaners do a good job.

Food excellent, service excellent, web-based ordering didn't work for me (ordering at the bar was very easy), music painfully loud. Multiple vegan options, a dog friendly area. Overall very good.

Great quality food, excellent value and superb service.

I asked advice regarding a dish, was told that it could be made mild, it came with no mushrooms, cabbage or spring onions as advertised and was red hot to the point my mouth was on fire. Mum had a tikka massage, had to pay extra for a piece of nan bread, rice was watery and had been placed over the nan bread which by that time the bread was also soggy. Will not be eating here again and would definitely not recommend. The decor is lovely, staff seem a little clueless.

Came in for Sunday dinner. Asked if wanted Sunday dinner or of menu. Said unsure so gave us both menus. Girl said would come back take orders but dint.went to bar to be told no Sunday dinners. All within less than 5 mins. Very disappointed. Tables left dirty even though plenty staff . Left without ordering anything 😪

The food is typical pub fair really For us the bigger problem was that we couldn't just turn up when we liked to eat We had to book in advance which did spoil some of our plans at the time Didn't really spoil our holiday so it was fine

Delicious freshly made food, great portions, real value for money, especially the meal deals. Staff are friendly, even under pressure they never lose their delightful smiles or customer focus. They all work well together to ensure all runs smoothly even during peak times, allowing you to feel truly relaxed as you enjoy your meal. Facilities are clean and the 3D nautical theme really gives that seaside holiday feel. In the 12 years we have been visiting Golden Sands Haven, which has seen many exciting times for us and our now almost 15 year old son, we have never been let down by the great food and service provided by the Quayside Cafè Bar and Restaurant...We simply LOVE you guys...Thank you for all your hard work...Keep smiling 😃

Walked in... have you booked no... you can't come in we are busy..... there was no one in there hahahahaha. Shocking

The food was nice. We had the roast on Sunday and the portions were huge. I just wish that there were more healthier options on the menu.

We have pre booked and attended 3 times this week, twice for breakfast of which they had no pancakes 2 days in a row and the breakfast was just ok, nothing special and rather cold. Today we had lunch of which we were made aware would be a 30 minute wait which was over an hour with no check up on service or apology. Front of house staff are polite and enthusiastic however lack support from management. No kids packs available as advertised on the menu and all dinner was either burnt, overcooked or a little bland looking, tasted ok.. nothing special. Ladies toilet taps are dangerously hot, I made a lady at the bar aware who couldn’t care less, ‘they’ve always been like it’ wonderful, so glad I always check before I put my child’s hands under. Cleanliness would get 1 star, my menu was dirty, I cleaned the table myself covered in milk and crumbs. Man who wears a cap typically with no name badge at front of house was lovely. Think could be a lot better with better suppliers for their food and more support from managers at busy times

the decor and atmosphere within the restaurant was good, however service was not so good due to the server telling us that someone would be with us in a minute to take our order but knowone came, so we went to the bar ourselves and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful and sorted our order out. The lady who came to tidy up our mains was also very rude when we thanked her we were just looked at with a rude stare. The food was extremely oily especially the bolognaise which had an enormous amount of oil (I would say almost a cup) swimming at the bottom of the dish, the spaghetti was also very mushy, although the bolognaise was not good and overall disappointing, the curry was tasty and well presented.

Poor table booked 6.30, was seated at 6.20 as arrived little earlier told someone be there shortty to take order. 7.01 someone finally came asked if we ordered on the app!!! Erm no I was told table service. Took order and Food arrived at 8.20 !! Like seriously a joke Not worth the money by a long shot 1st time at haven and wouldn't return give me butlins any day week month or year

Pre booked a 12:30 Sunday roast dinner, we arrived on time and were shown to a table, an hour later we asked a member of staff if they were going to take our order as we had been waiting for so long, we were told to go and order at the bar just as another staff member arrived to take our order, we then placed our order and continued to wait for another 40 minutes for the food to arrive. I am no 5 star Michelin Chef but I can cook a meal and serve it on a clean plate, what we received was not worthy of a camping site let alone something to be sold to customers. To be honest it was not fit to be sold.

Went here with my young family. Eldest was disappointed as they didn't have speghetti bolegnese and didn't tell us before we sat down. Ordered a mixed grill and the gammon was undercooked. Sent it back and they redid it. Paid extra for an egg which arrive with the yolk popped and pooling around my chips, where I didn't want it. When I finished I realised they left off my onion rings. Now I paid £18.98 in total for this meal and it's probably one of the most expensive things on the menu and they can't get it right. Wife's food was good, as we're the kids, but almost 20 quid for a mixed grill and the cooks aren't up to the job. Went to order a sharing dessert and none in stock. The blonde girl who served us though was a diamond, she should probably be promoted asap. If there were other restaurants on site that were half decent, I dont think this place would stay afloat.

No welcoming drop dead atmosphere took ages for food to come then cold . staff crying as people where complaining , the management need to spend a day to see how bad the food is for what you pay ridiculous prices poor young kids working in there just to knock there confidence poor management.

Genuinely the worst meal I've had

Not great. Kids had burger and sausage and mash. They enjoyed it. Adults had pie and steak. The food was sat on the server for a long time before it was brought over so it was tepid when it arrived and went cold very quickly. The steak was fine although the side ordered with it was missing and came later on when asked after. The pie was taken back as it was inedible. The pastry was solid and the bits that were tasted were chewy. Overall really disappointed as it's not cheap!

Very friendly people/staff , very helpful on hand when needed didn't have to wait to long for food and was very nice when it arrived also alot easier when ordering from staff as the app didn't keep upto date with some food as it told you it was sold out when it wasn't but otherwise lovely.

Stayed at the haven site a couple of weeks ago. Didn't book in the 1st night but thought we would try our look. Told no tables available, even though there was easily about 20 spare, no exaggeration, but was told we could sit ANYWHERE for a drink. If that was the case, why couldn't we eat. 2nd night we had booked in, again place was half empty but service still took a while. I think this is probably the reason they say they are full because they can't manage. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. That much so that we had booked in for the Sunday but decided to eat down the road off site and do glad we did as there was no comparison.

Was expensive for what we received, and the service wasn't great.

First time their extremely disappointed in the food ,was looking forward to chunky chips as stated on menu but got frozen chips instead....I love fish but this one wasn't the best it was bland I definitely won't be back again and the mushy peas tasted like the tinned ones....we even cancelled breakfast it was that bad ps and between 5-10 minutes our food arrived that wasn't freshly made as it would have taken longer I'm fuming

Food poisoning!!!!!!!!!I ordered myself and family food which took a hour to arrive for my little girls pizza didn't come out the same time the waiter said it would be 30 seconds anther 20 minutes later still nothing in this time our food didn't look very appealing but I had picked at the chicken and gave my girl some chips asked 3 times were my little girls food was the chef had burnt it but not replaced it we left so we could get burger King as the food was terrible I didn't eat from burger King later that night I was violently ill all night and most of the morning I should of gone to hospital but didn't want to take my kids and ruin their holiday I spent most of the holiday in bed please please don't eat from there! The manager was terrible nothing to help us

'We love fresh' - is what is painted on the wall. Apparently this doesn't extend to the customers food. Steak and ale pie was a microwave meal and arrived before the drinks. Mash was like clay, and the pie itself was tasteless. Vegetables were clearly pre cooked. At £13.50, they are robbing people. Service was rather lack luster as well. Waiters and waitresses were all rude and clearly hated being there.

Great place two brilliant meals only down side seating needs improving in dog area as we had 4 people who had back and neck issues and needed a chair as bench was not suitable.but overall great

Honestly if I could give it zero I would. We reserved a table and when we arrived stood for 10 minutes whilst the staff ignored us. Once the staff finally came over she told us she would get our order in a minute 20 minutes later we was still sat waiting so in the end I decided to just go order from the bar because I realised the waitress wasn’t there anymore and all other staff wasn’t covering her. Got to the bar and the girl behind the bar also didn’t want to serve me so I stood there for 5 minutes waiting whilst she pretended to move bottles on the wall. Eventually got served then waited 40 minutes for the food. When the food arrived I genuinely wish we’d just walked out before we got seated it was the worst food I’ve had can’t even believe it cost as much as it did. My partner had a mix grill and everything was completely cremated. I had a burger didn’t even come with the toppings it should have. And my 8 month old had ice cream even that was melted. Complete waste of our time and money.

Fish chips lovely. Ice cream is good if deliver to table when served we had ice cream soup. Bit expensive but nice meals. If like us you have a assistant dog be prepared for all staff many times to tell you to move until the realise the dog is needed. Day 2 here and been asked 6 times already

My family and I ate here on the 4th and 5th June. We were in the dog friendly section which to be honest, for me, is the better part of the restaurant as it's bright and airy. The food is your typical pub grub but not too bad. Don't bother with the sticky toffee pudding, the sauce is awful. Lovely Caesar salad and Malayan Noodles though. The kids main meal was just £1 brilliant

Came here for lunch when we arrived. It's a large and airy restaurant with nice decor. We used the QR code to order at our table which was quick and simple (except you don't seem to be able to order hot drinks via the app). The vegetarian/vegan options are quite limited. The food arrived quickly with friendly service. The food was ok but not great. We ordered paninis and a burrito. The paninis weren't really what we would consider a panini. It wasn't toasted. It was more of a large chibatta sandwich and was quite doughy. The burrito was ok but the rice could do with being mixed in with the beans and sauce as in one bite I got a mouthful of white rice and bread. The toilets were modern and clean.

Fantastic place. Free wifi which was handy when we were camping. Round of drinks for 6 adult about £22 so don't overly priced

I can’t understand what’s happened to this place gone so far down hill used to be brilliant, we booked a table for Sunday evening 17::00 arrived at 16:55 was shown to our table a member of staff came and took our order at 17:10 (3mains and two coffees) we sat and waited No drinks at 17:25 we asked staff and waited till 17:40 still no drinks so asked a member of staff again! No apologies and we waited again !!! At 17:55 we got up and left without having our drinks or anything to eat absolutely disgusting we got fed up of waiting and be ignored so we went to chip shop down the road 3 meals £19 spot on . If you have deep pockets and enjoy waiting and being ignored this is the place to be you’ll love as for normal folks who pay to be on this site to reduce the hassle of waiting and cooking don’t bother , just to add today’s experience of dining here😡we had a pre booked table again for 19:00 , we were shown to our seats , our order was taken and drinks served in a timely manner I order 7’0z gammon steak with extra side of onion rings our meals arrived on time but only received 2onion rings for the extra price of £3.49! (Really!) also my grilled tomato that supposedly be on the plate was missing we finished the meal it was ok nothing special we decided that we wanted dessert so we piled up the empty plates to show the staff we had finished the meal but not staff member returned to our table while we were waiting I decided to go to the bar I asked for a coffee and a pint to which was told coffee is off now machinery has been turned off! ( coffee machine is behind the bar and advertised above in large letters with no time limit stated!)I was disgruntled and showed my frustration by explaining the issues we have had this week in the restaurant to which this rude staff member said to me without us staff you wouldn’t have a holiday!! I think love without customers you wouldn’t have a job!!!!! We finally got a member of staff so we could order dessert only to be told that most of the dessert menu is not available so I said just bring the bill to which she stormed off then came back with it and SLAMMED it down on the table 😂 I think she had the hump and I’m not surprised I seen several others complaining as well!’n, I told them I’m not paying £3.49 for two onions rings and at least that was taken off the bill. this will be the last time we visit Haven golden sands as it’s nothing like it used to be , it’s just rubbish nowadays for the prices and the customer service is terrible 😞

Ate here once but food was not up to scratch, steak was not cooked to taste, breaded mushrooms were cold. Thank goodness for Nayeemas Indian on Victoria Road for fabulous meals as always

This is our 2nd year running coming to golden sands And we pre booked in For a family meal Table wasnt set up With highchairs When we got there There was boards outside Offering sunday lunches When we asked about them They said they had finished Grandaughters had there meals they have a free drink with there meals Had to chase it up Eventually got it I had katsu chicken It was awful The curry sauce There was a tiny bit on the chicken Has for the rice it was Disgusting it was like mush It didnt taste right So when i went up to settle my bill I told them about this They gave me 15% off my bill I said plz come over and look at my rice He went and had a word With the chef Never even bothered To come to look At my meal The restuarant has gone Down bad from Last year When we ask

So, the menu looks amazing, the food on the other hand wasn't very good at all. The chicken tikka was disgusting (had bits of raw onion in the sauce). When I approached the manager about this he was quite defensive about it. I spoke to another staff member who advised that she had the chicken tikka almost every other night... 🤢

Food was great value, we ate dinner there on our first evening, the gammon was massive! Really reasonably priced too, we had table service and the waitress was lovely and helpful. Visited again on a Sunday for lunch - roast dinners only for adults but the kids menu was still serving, which was a relief for us, we were able to swap the ziggy fries for skin on fries which our toddler much more preferred. Although the Sunday service wasn't great, we seemed to wait ages to be seated and when I said we hadn't booked the girl said she would have to see if she could fit us in, when the restaurant looked empty to be honest. It wasn't take service and we had to order at the bar, which wasn't a problem as we were seated in a booth quite close to the bar.

Was busy but staff were just amazing and managed to squeeze us in after a booking mix up. Food and service was superb and just in general the staff are amazing. It was so good we booked again. Just the affordable break our little family needed. Thank you to the Haven team!

Was nice and clean. Was signs all around saying that it was 2 meals for £15 but only Monday to Thursday. These signs was A frame signs and put out over the weekend which seemed very misleading. Just like a witherspoon meal

Just left from there very quick table service and the food was only a few minutes from ordering. Unfortunalty very overpriced for what it was. We ordered 2 ultimate burgers, the chips were horrible very dry. The burger it self was good but not keen on the sauce used. Our eldest had the slider burgers with chips, and beans which were tiny and didn't come close to fill a 11 year old. And our youngest 2 year old had the dinosaur shapes, chips and peas Then when we asked about desert had very little left unfortuantly so we decided to get a ice cream from somewhere else on the park. Overall the order with 3 large cokes and regular coke was £55.45. Which wasnt bad if the food quality and quantaty was alot better.

Limited menu and even then some items not available. Went to Burger king instead after 10-15 minute wait to be served.

Reasonable food at at a reasonable price. Staff are welcoming and helpful.

The restaurant was clean tidy and charming the decor was excellent and the service impeccable alongside a generous and perfectly cooked menu

We were camping 10 days at Golden sands and had 3 meals at the quayside. Cannot fault any part. Twice we had the 2 for £15 and both times I indulged in the 12oz steak. Both times cooked perfectly to my taste. 3rd time we visited we decided to try a sharing starter of nachos with additional 3 bean chilli. My wife is not a grest lover of chilli but we were fighting for the last bits! Loads of cheese on it with souf cream anc guacamole. For mains I went for steak and ale pie with mash and veg. Absolutely gorgeous. Could taste the ale in the beef. Good portion of mash and veg. Wife opted for hunters chicken. Shared a sticky toffee pudding which amused the waitress when we asked for e spoonx eith w pud! Drinks I thought were a bit pricy but not when compared to other places.

Nice and clean but the alcohol was pricey
