Badgers Barn Bar and Restaurant in East Lindsey

RIGHT THEN WHERE DO I START Also staff were very unhelpful We were sat there there were about 5 tables around us with no one sat around us and while we were there for 2 hours none of the tables were cleared Spent 120 quid on 6 meals and and drink each bit expensive but I get it. So this is where it gets diabolical we ordered at four minutes past 6 said the food would arrive in 45 minutes which I agreed but it was life less no one in there accept a couple of familys no more than 5 Anyway we ordered 3 steak and ale pies One cheese burger and one hunters chicken and one fajita. They ran out of fish and chips which I understand because they will run out of things Anyway 45 minutes of relentless waiting it still didn't come so we ask it was apparently the next ticket so 20 minutes which over a hour is shambles Any way 20 minutes of more relentless waiting still didn't arrive so we waited another 5 but then a family which came in atleast 20 minutes after us food arrived So we asked agin they said like we are stupid we have a big order even though they had about 7 people and ordered 3 massive spare ribs. Any way they said a other 5 minutes but still didn't arrive after 1 hour and 20 minutes It finally came but nothing special Right it came but the meals wasn't right we ordered one fajita it came as chicken tika we told them they said we ordered it and the cheff thought it was curry so waked on a few poperdoms in the waiters words Anyway we had no cutlery she said you have to get it from round the corner like we should know rember we have paid 120 quid and have to get it ourself I am not being lazy but it's ridiculous it's not a school They also said go and get your own sauces so there we went of on our journey only to realise there's no ketchup so we was not the brightest so we ask she has apparently look everywhere high and low but none appeared in her sight We was not happy so we spoke to a manger they said again lieing she went and got us ketchup and then reviled she's not the manger but a supervisor Which she didn't want to know what we had to say half way though a conversation and suddenly walked away not even a sorry RIDICULOUS We had a 1 hour and 20 minute wait just to REVILE it was crap fajitas and microwaveable pies and also microwaveable rice on the fajita THE FOOD WAS SHOKINGLY BAD half way thought eating our food more customers came in also complaining about how revolting this restaurant is but I wouldn't call it a restaurant And it was more like supper As you can accept we won't be coming back

Come here as a regular we are here on Sunday evening play bingo played the quiz spent money went to the other bar. Main bar asked for a coffee at 8 o’clock and was told no coffee available so much for service that those that don’t drink alcohol thank you. I do appreciate, other non-alcoholic drinks are available. I would’ve liked to have a coffee.

We never actually managed to get served! The barman ignored my husband and another customer, he simply walked passed them both twice, no acknowledgement of their existence. I eventually decided to suggest we leave, the other couple were going to do the same and a lady sitting at a table indicated this was quite normal behaviour. We won't be back, there are so many welcoming places in the area.

Sunday carvery was a disaster they never had a back up of meat or veg and apart from the gravy it was all cold. The other meals we had were brilliant. I don't like the idea of dogs allowed in an eating establishment. I counted the one night there were 12 humans and 9 dogs

The food was way below average not even seasoned and the only sauces available were ketchup and mayonnaise . The surf and turf was wasn’t even warm. If you stay at grange leisure go out for food don’t eat at badgers barn. Great for drinks not food unfortunately

We stayed at The Grange Leisure Park. Firstly what a lovely site. Very very relaxed atmos in the place. They have a pub, show bar and a shop with a cafe to the side. Food is available most of the day on most days (seasonal changes). I had breakfast in “The Kitchen” which is all in the same building as the pub etc. So I am assuming the kitchen cooks for all. However the Kitchen doesn’t show up on goodle so I’ve use the Badgers Barn as reference. Any I had brekky there and it was very very good. All the food was tasty. Perhaps could’ve been a little warmer. However the sausage stole the show. Absolutely beautiful. Has a Costa drink with it and it was around £13 for both. I was full afterwards. I’m told by regulars the food is “hit and miss”’but lately their recently appointed chef seems to be delivering the goods.

Bar staff were amazingly professional especially the young lady Becky! However…. The food was an absolute disgrace! I had ordered the pork tomahawk which had been cut to a medallion size and under seasoned! The so called onion gravy came under flavoured and like water, the Stilton sauce was a total joke, for a start it was meant to be a creamy white sauce as it should, it was brown and tasteless! The chilli con Carney was like eating a tin of tomatoes! No seasoning at all! Reason we didn’t complain was there wasn’t a clear management structure with no name tags to clearly state who they were, and when we finally found the supervisor, we asked if they were on trip advisor and to that I got from the line manager…” they should be” not a great look right? Being a qualified chef for over 20 years it was a total embarrassment to be served this standard of food which is a massive shame cos the holiday park itself is faultless and always would want to return but not for the food’ I shall be seeking other alternatives in the area! But thank you all as a whole for making us feel welcome and I hope that there do not have to experience what my family have tonight

They got us in last minute, but the service and the food was exceptional. The best steak I've had for ages!! Dog friendly, brilliant!

Been to the restaurant two nights for food, the first night was 1hr 30 wait for the food, the 2nd night was a lot faster but the food was not great at all! The service at the bar is slow, orders had to be taken twice, plates arrived at the table 30 minutes apart, just not great

So slow with service, well over an hour waiting for food. Such a shame, get more staff!!

The chicken burger was so burnt and rock hard that my teeth started to hurt when eating it. However, the oddly shaped chips were pretty fun to eat and there was a pretty cool seating area. The service came after a grueling long wait as our whole family had just come from the aqua park next door. This was a very unenjoyable experience overall. We paid so much money for a tiny portion of burnt food.

Food took over an hour with no real apology. Food served on cold plates. Took so long it was a good thing the Childs meal was barely warm so my 8 year old could eat straight away. Fajita mix was bland and disappointing. Burger was over cooked on the edge and was cold on the outside. However the steak pie was nice. All in all I’d say avoid as it was a massive disappointment and put a dampener on the end of the holiday.

Sitting here with 2 kids, been waiting over an hour for our meals, been to the bar to inquire how much longer and have been told 15 minutes, terrible service and staff don’t seem to know what is going on 😡 Needless to say any tips have gone out the window

Worse meal ever, anyone can put a meal in a microwave and wait for the “ding” and call themselves a chef who should have been embarrassed. Had to dig through a mountain of melted cheese to find a bit of lasagne, same with hunters chicken, bizarre chips which were like half hollowed out tubes, the tiny bit of side salad had been but on very hot plates so was a shriveled mess. We begrudge every penny, when we emailed to complain we were met with disinterest and couldn’t care less attitude. Avoid, avoid avoid.

Excellent foh staff food was lovely very understaffed poor foh screamed at by chef who forgot gravy, onion rings etc. Then hard to hear boh screaming at I assume foh coz they were busy when gravy was ready x perhaps the boh should have brought forgotten bits out instead whilst foh were actually busy looking after guests

The Food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and helpful. One night we had a Burger and then the other night we had the Meat Feast Pizza. I also tried The Biscoff Churros with Biscoff Ice cream and that was so delicious, I would totally recommend the Biscoff Churros.

Had a lovely family meal including one family member who needed gluten free. They had an allergen list and a chef came out to confirm food would be cooked separately and even brought out by itself. Staff were very friendly.

Food was ok, the steak and ale "pie" was just a slice, everything else was ok.

This place can't keep a good chef and it shows. Steadily gone down hill over the last few years with the odd 1 or 2 good weeks. Tonight was the worst yet, burnt pizza, cold chips... basic food for any kitchen surely! Every person that ordered sent food back and drinks given were out of date which made for a miserable time for all. The menu cant be made any more basic so thats not the issue. Bar staff were new and trying there best

Christmas Lunch…. DELICIOUS - but a couple of silly niggles that were annoying but definitely not off-putting….. the welcome was lovely and we were shown to our table where the staff had thoughtfully provided a bowl of water for our two little dogs. Our only negative comments (NOT complaints!!) were the errors so often made in restaurants. First the butter pats were so solid that they wouldn’t spread…. And secondly, the prawn and crayfish salad was lacking a sauce (this was soon remedied with a dish of mayo!!) and that is it ! The food was DELICIOUS, the service was Impeccable and we have already started to recommend Badgers Barn to friends and relatives…. AND - having checked out their menu, we certainly look forward to eating there many more times in the future…..

Great food at a decent price. Staff polite but was a long wait at the bar and a long wait for the food. Shame but coukd be resolved by having more than one barman. Had a great time so will come again

Coastfields have done a brilliant job here with this site. The pub/restaurant is excellent. Food is above top notch. Its a nice place to go either for lunch or simply to unwind. Its comfortably out of town from Mablethorpe so away from the troublespots.

Poor service , poor food and very pricey for what you get

It's a nice place but I think the staff are bored or stressed due to management the place needs a good clean sticky table central I have not eaten there but travelled with family who did and they stated the food was not good of course I trust a family members review anyway tey it for yourself it is what it is cheap and very busy

This restaurant clearly survives because it's the only one on a caravan/lodge holiday site. Sharer portion of nachos, £8, I think we got about 10 nacho chips. Pretty surprising. Lasagne was a safe bet from me, but even that had little in the way of mince between the sheets. Wasn't expecting much before we went, but the price sure as anything raised expectations. £50 for a couple of pints of draught cider, a fruit shoot, a kids meal, 2 adult meals and some 'sharer' nachos. The cider was refreshing on a hot day, but the food was terrible. 1*

Run out of most food options, not enough staff on meaning your queing for a long time at least 10 mins or more in busy times.

Table sticky and not clean. Awful slow service, bar staff have no idea who is next, one younger male has no customer skills at all, if you don't like customers and people don't work in the hospitality industry. The food eventually came after 80 minutes, the barn was not even full, the food was very poor, pizza was very rubbery and burger should of had a bbq sauce and didn't, burger was also over cooked and hard, we left most of it and left in disgust. Typical cheap overpriced food what you expect from these kind of places. They do advertise 2 meals for £16 Monday to Thursday, but not on bank holidays which i couldnt find that exclusion, nor on a Tuesday after a bank holiday so im unsure as to what two for £16 is actually on? Won't be returning ever.

Had the steak,cooked to perfection,one of the best steaks I have ever had,not the cheapest place to eat but worth paying a bit extra for.shame they won't serve coke in pint glasses though for some reason.

Great place, great staff. We go here even when we’re not staying on the touring site, staff always polite and helpful, sport on TV, great place.

Beautiful Carvery, We will definitely be eating at Badgers Barn again

Been here a few times for meal post / during Covid 19 / lockdown , the building it self is new and modern with large glass front and outdoor seating with tables , as you walk in there is plenty of chairs & seating and bar area, the bar sells bottled beer and beer on top along with wine soft drinks & coffee ,to the left and further on more seating with TVs on the wall and booths and upstairs seating , it’s all very clean and looked after , the food itself is a bit hit and miss though , fairly expensive for what it is but could do with improving , the staff themselves are polite and helpful but clearly understaffed at peak times as there is always a queue at the bar for ordering drinks and food , also if you have kids it’s best to find out how long the food is going to be as it’s taken 45-60 minutes to be served ,

We really fancied a carvery today so knowing the Grange camp site had a restaurant we were going to check it out , I looked at the rating and reviews and it didn't look promising, we drove on to woodthorpe garden centre as having had meals there before we knew they are excellent, but the queue was so long we decided to give the Badgers a try, the meal was good enough not to warrant bad or low reviews, just a little pricey in my mind

Amazing customer service from Merv and the team in Badgers barn, even though stupidly busy, they ensured we enjoyed our meal

Had the carvery, Instant powdered mash and watery gravy. Staff were friendly though but wouldn’t eat here again not for carvery anyway, overpriced and underwhelming

A big thank you today for accommodating us we booked for 20 people for sandwiches fries and lots lots more this was after a funeral and we could not ask for better ,the service was excellent .again many thanks

There was 8 in total for dinner nice surroundings but not everything was available on the menu. Food wise I was not impressed for the price for what you got we did have to send a dinner back in which we got a refund. The 2 members of staff that was on that day which was 2 lads were very helpful and friendly if you want value for money better going off site. Evening entertainment that week was Bingo Family Quiz children's bingo. The building was nice and clean I would be happy too visit again. The day we checked out we went to the cafe for breakfast we all enjoyed our breakfast at a reasonable price then had ice-cream from the cafe lot's of choice and very tasty. I would say give it a go. Thank you.

The 5 stars are for the staff. Three nights running we found them to be, friendly, helpful and dedicated. Second night we ordered the rump steak again for excellent value. Quality steak and beautifully cooked but they had run out of onion rings, sauce and coleslaw. (Also there was no ketchup or mayonnaise so a really dry meal). We weren’t told this and we still charged the same, also my son’s lasagne was black, hard and dried out. Unfortunately a very poor standard from the night before but I felt my review needed to applaud the great staff. Keep up the good work even when others make ir hard!!

Its jus like every other pub with food menu.. the burger was alittle bland to be honest but you get plenty for you money. Staff are friendly, would eat there again 👍

Couldn't order food at 2030hrs as the chef couldn't cope with existing orders.

I would happily give more stars if I could. The lady who served me this morning went above and beyond to help me with my order and took it down to the lake for us. Everything I asked for, nothing was too much trouble. 100% Recommended

Very busy but no excuse to be ignored. 40 minutes waiting, asked for menus several times to no avail. Staff walk around with there heads down avoiding eye contact . Poor

As a local have visited lots of times ,last night was the first since the pandemic . What a disappointment , waiting time not acceptable for food and drinks .very short staffed ,orders getting forgotten ,tables not getting cleared .holiday makers seen to be complaining . What a shame as lovely place . One poor visit results in no more visits !!!

Terrible service, staff not wearing mask a chef was even bringing meals out with no mask on. Lots off meals was getting sent back. Been here 2 hours and never been asked if we want another drink. If you don’t have a contactless card you Carnt get up to put you PIN number in. After staying on site we Will be eating somewhere else for the rest off our stay.

We visited Badgers Barn for lunch last Friday, I had the pizza and my husband had Fish and Chips. My pizza was the best pizza I have ever tasted and my husband said the fish just melted in his mouth as it was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t eat all my pizza but the staff were happy to provide me with a pizza box so I could take the rest home. We will be visiting every week (covid restrictions permitting) and looking forward to trying something different off the menu each time. I recommend a visit here highly .
