Had a lovely meal of the pub classics section which was Great value …. Service was very good and staff always friendly highly recommended 👍

Just had to pay a court costs for £277.12 Went there 2 1/2 years ago for my daughter‘s first birthday did it go inside Stayed in the garden with my daughter and my dad because it was a lovely day and my dad is a smoker. I had a breakfast wrap absolutely disgusting full of greasy anyway left there went home week later got a parking fine no signs in the garden saying you have to put your license plate number in a machine. I didn’t go in the pub where there was two signs which I found out But I had no reason to go in there because I was in the garden with my daughter when mention it to a member of staff, did not want to help me. I emailed Britannia car park got no response so I thought that was the end of it Until 2 1/2 years later I’ll get a court sum for £277 I usually go to the pub twice three times a month now I will not step foot in the building. There is only one loser here and that’s the pub because I will not take me and my family or my friends in there ever again add that up in revenue as a lot of money.

Staff were welcoming and polite. The bar and restaurant area was warm and inviting. All areas were clean and well presented. The food was excellent, all our steaks were cooked to perfection as ordered Portions and presentation were also fantastic.

Love the order from your table service, the food has always been so nice and the staff are pleasant enough. Always my 1st choice for a meal.

We had roast dinners. Children had kids meal. Got say bloody lovely.. Worth every penny. Staff always nice

Staff are always kind and helpful when we come in. Food comes out quick and hot. We used the £5 January meal. Will be revisiting!

I go to the Quays every Wednesday, the staff at the Quays Pub are very friendly, the Pub is clean, food is lovely, hot, tasty and looks nice

Absolutely above and beyond expectations! All food was hot and quick, great portion sizes, amazing price, and lovely service- Bobbie made us feel like the only ones in the whole restaurants, a 3 minuets wait on the bar, but to be expected on a busy Saturday night, and not a wait that was not minded for the service received! We will defiantly be back!

the service i had received from a young lady was excellent good value for food and drinks. The young lady that served me was Millie she was very kind and was very patient with my children

We arrived from North wales on 3rd January 2025.we went for some food here.The food was 100%,and the pudding was the same.I would recommend anyone to come and eat here

Massive bar but not enough staff to serve, waited 20 mins to order drinks, with only four groups in front.

Awful. Took forever to get served. No kne clearing glasses off the bar, plenty of people serving and it wasn't even busy but took nearly 20 minutes to get a drink.

Staff are not welcoming or very friendly.. (crispy)chicken wings were so covered in grease..poor attitude when I returned them

There was 21 of us and everyone was kind. No rush to eat our food or to leave.

I don't know if the staff were having a bad day . As some of the way that they asked customer what they wanted, they need a bit of a brush up on their customer service skills

Friendly staff, very welcoming, spotlessly clean, there was loads of choice on menu. Everyones food in our party of 6 was delicious great value for money too.

It was empty, and the food still took forever and was incorrect, and when we finally got our food, it was thrown at me, absolutely appalling service, and the staff just don't care and seem to want to be there

Pop into Quays once a fortnight to meet up with family...have always found the Girls behind bar or waitressing very professional and efficient, the food is always presented well and hot and have Veggie options if you wish...however if you want the Ritz go and enjoy their prices...if you want a cosy evening out at a reasonable expense then the Quays is for you...we always enjoy it their...well done Quays staff.

Aweful! Been in a few time very badly managed. Kitchen and bar can both close early without any notice........ Next to a premier in so a captive audience.... Buyer beware ....

Food took a long time to be served, one of the steak meals was still frozen in the middle, it had a bite out of it, they cooked it for a little longer then served the same steak back 🤢. Sorry we would not go back again

I gave 3 stars as, even though the food was nice it wasn't very hot, we waited about half hour for it and another 25/30 minutes for dessert too. The table was dirty, I had to ask a member of staff to clean it. I don't think we will be returning and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not many staff there but food was nice

We are two people from a group called Involved and we ordered our dessert at 6:45 and it arrived at 7:45 when it came the lady didn’t say sorry for waiting or anything this is bad service it needs to be Fixed straight away

Come here Saturday for my sister in laws 18th birthday staff were amazing food was great and the atmosphere was really good would definitely recommend coming here for all functions and more

Absolutely awesome when we went couldn't ask for anything else. Had a party load of us, food even came out together, noone was waiting much apart from getting another tray of items.

Really can't recommend the Sundayroast, the staff doing what they can but the food is not good, the floor is quite dirty and it was so noisy with a kid party....wouldn't come back unfortunately

Visited several times over the past year and is our go to for a meal out. Food never disappoints and there's a big range to suit everyone, always been able to get a table, friendly staff and kept clean There's only been one time we've had to wait a while to order at the bar but it was a busy night with only 1 member of staff serving so it's understandable and she handled it very well

Staff are aware of who's there and if they know them then their whole customer service goes out of the window. Lovely pub lovely food, nice area but some people aren't to be trusted or messed with so if you go just try keep your head down and enjoy the company of the people you're around, not anyone else.

First time here tonight. Not the most friendly atmosphere. Lady who attended to me was so uninterested that she charged me for the wrong food .

Amber gave us great service and gave a good pint of Guinness and she was nice to other customers as they complimented her service aswell I did

Very disappointed eat here regularly tonight booked table for 7pm got to bar no staff then bar staff served us I said I booked he looked at computer showed us to table 24 was dirty also bar was sticky and floor carpet wad dirty toilet was not to clean order at table wine I order wasn't available order a tea wasn't available but was charge over £2 for a glass off milk as my husband got a disability so need fluids when eating really disappointed so probably we'll not come back unfortunately it wasn't that busy there

They are so friendly and make you feel welcome we use it a lot with our service users and they are really helpful and has done a lot for us at Christmas they put on a party that is very lovely Food is great

Staff are great to chat to, food is good But to be here on a Saturday and there be barely anyone in and no atmosphere killed the vibe

This place is fabulous. I’ve been coming here for a couple of months and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I highly recommend it.

Had a weekday lunch and some drinks with a friend and was lovely sitting on the decking. Love the new decor and really enjoyed the food, the chicken wings are always so yummy. Food came out quickly and the prices are really good

Staff are so so so so loud. Drinks are OK, food is not good at all. I just went for the drinks, this is all I remember before I got drunk.

I come in for food as I was staying next door at the premier inn and when I entered I approached the bar for a drink first of all which was not busy and felt ignored and it took a while for me to be severed for a drink. I ordered my food and my starter arrived which was ok but not great and then my main arrived which was completely the wrong meal, when I my main finally arrived it was over done and dry and not edible. I wanted to complain but there were no staff around to talk to and nobody checking up to see if everything was ok with the food. Service throughout my time in the establishment was extremely poor.

I was visiting family in the area and stayed at the hotel next door , beer garden was over grown with glasses and rubbish on the floor with bird mess over most tables but found an OK table went inside and it was filthy , tables full of empty plates ,glasses etc. So many drinks unavailable and limited staff rushed off there feet. I was looking into having meals there but on what I saw I wouldn't bother.

Horrendously understaffed to the point I felt sorry for them, and horrendously dirty, EVERYTHING was sticky, the bar, the tables, the menus, the chairs!!! Can't fault the staff that were there they were all pleasant enough but they needed at least double the amount clearly, food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive, Poor planning by management to leave staff to be overwhelmed on one of the hottest days of the year, with no air-conditioning inside it was almost unbearable First and last visit

Dad’s 70th at the Quays today…the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly, especially Mel! Definitely a different vibe from a few years ago! The patio was stunning in the sun, with a lovely cool, tree covered area from my dogs, who the staff were very attentive to also! 5* star the Quays…what a difference!

Absolutely terrible , under staffed .walked out and that was a Saturday. Dt bother.

Came today for some drinks for a friend's birthday so a party of 8, and we ordered drinks and food then food took 30minz plus just for a couple cheesy garlic breads and chips and the garlic mushrooms are atrocious service was terrible the drinks didn't have no garnish and the outside area was disgusting ,was in the garden area for 30minz + and tables full of glasses and empty bottles really the staff was just chatting amongst themselves and not tending to their job.

So this is the second day that I came here, I love the food. However, the waiter/bartender(the guy with the haircut from 1990 was really rude to me, probably because I got in the pub speaking a east European language on the phone. I tried to be nice and polite. However, he said to me what you want on a ditry tone, and in the end, I just tried to show some more politeness, and he was just ignoring me and giving me dirty looks. I loved my sizzler stake. However, I won't probably go back there to feel how I felt today. In case you're a foreigner, I won't recommend going to this racists pub.

We attended another one of The Quays Fest events, which as always, did not disappoint 😊 Such a fantastic event, with the best atmosphere, great drinks and wonderfully pleasant, helpful staff. One bar staff member - Billie, was super quick and efficient, which on such a busy night is always a huge bonus at keeping bar queueing to a minimum. 👍🏻 Would definitely recommend to others.

It was my birthday and was looking forward to a nice lunch.i had been recovering from a kidney infection.and also covid.( But I wasn't contagious then) Couldn't fault the bar staff.they were lovely. Everything was clean and tidy.

Wanted to treat my little family to a meal and used to love going to the quays until yesterday first the table we was given was very sticky so I wiped it over my self with wipes the food didn't taste very nice was going to have a dessert but because of the main we decided not to don't think we be going back , the staff were friendly but unfortunately the food and the table put us off

Some tables and door furniture seemed to be sticky and need a good wipe over. Some glasses were not clean. Good place to meet as it has a garden and lakeside setting.. A Greene King Hungry Horse pub with nearby Premier Inn.

Food was alright but service slow, short staffed (seems to be a common thing with hungry horse restaurants) ice cream dessert took longer to come out than 2 mains!

Open plan with lots of room. Bar service, and your food is served quickly.

Food is OK for a hungry horse, fairly quick to bring it out, desserts took longer. Tested ok . Staff at the time were very abrupt straight to the point no smiles just what du want.

I went to Quay's Fest. First time I had ever been there. Really great atmosphere. Sitting outside was lovely especially looking out onto the water. Even though it was busy the drinks service was quick.

A good place to go out in Basildon.

Haven't been for a few years hasn't changed much if you can get a seat by the lake it was quite pleasant and you can forget during the middle of Basildon. The pricing structure is reasonable for drinks and food , I found the staff friendly and efficient although they were rushed off their feet as it had obviously been busy most of the day

Had a lovely evening meal with my family. Food was hot, tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had a great time x We ate from the pub classics menu and 6 of us ate for the same price as a takeaway and it was so much nicer. We all chatted and laughed about what we had been up to. Wouldn't have been the same with a takeaway!

Cracking pints.. few guiness with the family poured by Billie out of a nice guineas glass.. Top notch.. went down a treat with the steak.

Visited with family that arrived from Ireland as we stayed in the hotel next door. We ordered a variety of dishes and every meal was cooked exactly how we wanted it. Will and Grace served our food and they were very accommodating. A pure delight to have been served by them. We had steak and all our steaks were cooked as requested! Our drinks at the bar were served by Enola who can pour a proper Guinness! Overall a really nice place on a Saturday to have good food,drinks and atmosphere. Will certainly be coming back and thank you to the quays for having us!

I have been to The Quays a few times now, to eat and drink. I had the Wings N Things which was great value for money and was very nice with a great selection of sauces. Friday nights they have a DJ so always good to have a proper drink. I would highly recommend it as a local pub

Delicious will recommend to everyone

Cheap and cheerful menu and wide range of drinks, with a nice external area. It was quite busy, especially outside with drinkers, and on the day, they didn't seem to have enough staff on. There were long delays getting served, and even though I ordered the food on the app, it took an age to come out. Food was cheap and decently cooked albeit average, but later, I heard staff telling customers coming in that food orders could be an hour to an hour and a half. I have to say that there were far too many plates and glasses left on the tables, so mixed views for me. Perhaps on another day with some extra staff, it may improve back to former glories?
