I will go out of my way to get a quick salad in a box from this place. Plenty of variety between visits, good tasty and healthy: just trust the staff to feed you well. Thus is a tiny place, the menu and prices are on the wall right by where you get served. If you chat to the staff they will just fill you full of confidence about their food.

Lots of good healthy options, and a level or two higher than your average sandwich bar. No silly dressings, just down to earth, well prepared food

Wir sind durch Zufall auf das QSK gestossen und ich wusste direkt das ich hier was leckeres und gesundes zu essen kriege. Die Mädels waren super freundlichen und aufgeschlossen. Hier gibts was Veganes, vegetarisches oder Carnivores - super wenn man zu mehreren unterwegs ist. Ich denke das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gerechtfertigt.

There was plenty of vegetarian options available on the menu. Food was tasty and fresh. Service was fast and friendly would definitely recommend

AWESOME PLACE. This place is the best sandwich shop in Cardiff by a clear mile. If you like freshly cooked food with a twist, freshly prepared salads, freshly baked cakes and bread then come here. It’s great.

I felt like a light lunch, they sold salads, not much to see from the street, so I went in and was bowled over by the salad, enjoyed every forkful and every ingredient that I ate, sitting outside at a table. Pleasant service, nice people. If I lived in Cardiff I’d be a regular customer.

I've been going to Quay St Kitchen for lunch most weeks since moving back to Cardiff and they always impress. From the freshness of the ingredients, friendliness of the staff or the incredible value for money, it is hands down my favourite lunch spot in the city. I tend to go for a grilled cheese (they are to die for) but the wraps are also insanely good. Great healthy options and some that are more indulgent. If you want something quickly that's really tasty and great value for money, look no further!

My wife and I were in a bit of a rush to catch a bus for a day at St. Fagans Museum when we noticed this place and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. We knew we had found some place special when the owner knew the person ordering ahead of us and the two people after us (lots of regulars!). Incredibly fast, friendly service and two astoundingly good sandwiches later, we grew envious of every person in Cardiff working so close to this gem. Their ham and two-cheese panini was just incredible. Every piece of it a glorious reimagining of a classic. And they had a brisket special which was just outstanding. I like to think I know what good brisket tastes like as a native Texan and this was definitely very, very good brisket. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the neighborhood.

I bought 2 coffees and a bakewell and thought the price was a little steep. However! The bakewell was honestly amazing, It was well worth it, probably best bakewell I’ve ever had. Also been here for one of there salad boxes and it’s great. So flavoursome and one of the only places to grab something fresh and healthy on the go in Cardiff. Be prepared to wait a little st lunch times as a little place, but again worth the wait.

I LOVE this lovely foodie place for lunch. It's great for catering lunches too. Such a fantastic selection of fresh food and always wonderful service from Rachael. Would recommend highly!

As an occasional visitor to Cardiff, it seems fair to say that the city center isn't exactly spoilt for choice when it comes to quality independents. Found out about this place after pestering a colleague asking where he got his peng looking salad box from. Been here a few times since and it has never disapointed. Favourite order so far has to be the Grilled Cheese with Chorizo, although everything I've had from here has been fresh, healthy and most importantly bursting with flavour. Service is extra friendly and personal too. Would rather never have to visit Cardiff but having lunch from this place to look forward to makes the experience somewhat less bleak

While visiting Cardiff, had lunch (and coffee) here two times - engaged the very personable owner in conversation while there by myself the first time and when I brought my son for the second visit she remembered everything I had said about him - great recall! Everything is so freshly prepared, including breads and soups and such great favor combinations all without having to sacrifice the healthy aspects. For lunch in the heart of Cardiff, the Quay Street Kitchen is truly a gem.

Found this small independent cafe down a side street off the main St Marys. Like walking into someones home kitchen diner. You seem to feel calmer as soon as you enter. Excellent range of food on offer and all cooked to order.

We found this little cafe down a side street and the menu definitely tempted us in! The selection was wide and I found it very hard to choose just one option! The host was very friendly and gave us the time we needed to make our choices, and we went and waited in the small seating area outside with our drinks whilst the food was made. The food was absolutely delicious- great quality ingredients and a very good price too. We chose ‘The Italian’ and ‘The Super Smashing Avocado’ sandwiches which we would definitely recommend. And the brownies were to die for! Very rich flavour, soft and gooey. Eat here if you can!!

This place is an absolute delight! From the sunny yellow decor to the scrummy food and drinks it's just perfect! As a recent vegetarian, I have been keen to try new flavours and this place does not disappoint! I just had a Greek salad and oh my word it was beautiful! Whether you're after a bacon bap or a vegan wrap, there'll be something to tangle your tastebuds! Always a pleasure to pop in and pick up my lunch and have a chat with the very lovely staff who work there. This please is GORGEOUS!

This is for sure a hidden gem of Cardiff. We stopped in on a whim and were beyond delighted with our lunch. I was indecisive about what I wanted for lunch and the staff there offered to make me a wrap based on what I told them I liked. My husband got the Mississippi for his meal. This was far and away the best lunch we had the whole trip!

These girls always bring the best, food. Whether is an exotic salad box, grilled cheese sandwiches or homemade soup - I could personally recommend them all. The girls there are fantastic too which is always a bonus if you want food that's locally sourced and made with passion. Just try them out and see for yourselves, you won't be sorry.

Visited the quay street kitchen for the first time today for lunch. I had the triple salad with halloumi and it was so delicious. Best halloumi I've tried. There was a lovely atmosphere in the cafe and staff were welcoming and friendly. I'll definitely be going back soon for some more delicious fresh food. Keep up the hard work quay street kitchen

Popped in for a coffee but the food looked and smelled so good ,I had to try a wrap, Hummus,carrot and halloumi. It was delicious. I will certainly be going back.

Thought we’d try it for breakfast for a change but won’t be trying it again! Had a bacon sandwich (just 2 slices of bread / 1 round) and a coffee (which was very small) and it came to £6!!! Ridiculously expensive. These ladies are thieves. No menu on the wall letting you know how much you’ll be paying in advance. Very disappointed.

I only popped in for a quick sandwich but was presented with a spectacularly delicious lunch. The baguette was so fresh and crusty that I could imagine myself in a small town boulangerie in France enjoying its newly baked bread. All the ingredients here are top quality and the combinations of fillings are more imaginative and original than anywhere else I can think of in Cardiff. Condiments and dressing added to my preferences on my ‘Sunday Roast’ chicken baguette. To boot, a quinoa, fennel and fenugreek side salad - now that is fancy. A lunchtime option like this doesn’t come any better than this and there’s loads of choice here.

Easily the best spot in Cardiff for a salad of baguette at lunchtime! Fresh inventive salads that will surprise you and make you wonder why the queue wasn't longer. Don't tell too many people :D

I was recommended the Quay Street Kitchen a long time ago and I'm so glad I finally went. There's a good range of choice and having almost everything being gluten free is such a nice change from struggling to find a palatable option. There's a good balance of healthy and more indulgent choices and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely salad box with grilled hullumi and fresh range of salads. A little pricey but worth it for a tasty lunch without overloading on calories

Popped in on the off chance as the place looked nice. Had the salad box. Each salad was distinctive fresh and filling. Went back the next day and it was 3 different salads all the same quality.

This small cafe has wonderful breakfast and lunch options: baguettes (amazing bread), wraps, salads, jacket potatoes, soup and amazing cakes. Everything I've tried so far tasted amazing and the ladies working there are lovely. Go with their recommendation if you can't make up your mind.

I write this having just consumed the best salad I have ever had in my life (I'm not exaggerating)! My tastebuds are literally tingling - this is my new favourite work lunch spot. I have been searching for somewhere in Cardiff that does an *exciting* healthy lunch, and this is it, without a doubt. And if salad isn't your bag, they also do a range of delicious sandwiches and cakes. I also feel that the staff deserve a mention - both ladies are lovely and passionate about the food they offer. Definitely worth a visit and I will be a regular!

I don't usually write Tripadvisor reviews ... but my lunch was so blummin' good today. It's my first visit and I'll be back (probably tomorrow!). I had the most delicious takeaway salad box, with fresh, gorgeous ingredients. And the rest of the menu looks pretty tasty too.

I wouldn't normally write a review about a place to grab a quick sandwich while at work ! But this place is more than that , it's amazing !

Quay Street Kitchen, has THE best fresh salad boxes in Cardiff. They are so tasty, different every day, made with such passion by a team who clearly cares about fresh produce and healthy food. I have now had three salad and grilled halloumi salad boxes and each one has been unique- forget any salad boxes you can get pre-packaged from a supermarket- they just don't come close. I think I may be addicted!
