Quality Fry in Erewash

I voted for cod’s scallops to be best in Britain Jamie’s Chipy has come in my view a close second very good amounts of food for the money. If you have never been well worth the trip out.

Went here after spending the afternoon with my friends. The smallest serving is only 3 pounds and you get to choose from different style of fries. There is a sauce selection as well. Fresh - not too greasy or salty. The only criticism I have is that I wish they give you more sauce with your fries.

This chip shop was amazing until the new owners took over. The amount of times I have asked for cod and they have ran out of it on a Friday, Ive lost count of. On one the rare occasions they did have it, I had a really long wait, only to get home and it wasn't cooked properly and had to go straight in the bin.

Very sorry to say that since the new owner have taken the quality of the food and service has declined to such an extent that we no longer go here. Rather than a short walk to the village we go a six mile trip round to Georges in ilkeston for real quality fish and chips. Quality fries are the only fish shop we've ever known to run out if fish at 5. 30pm on a Friday......poor customer service

Fantastic food, excellent friendly service, all good. Kebabs very tasty, fish fresh, great value for money.

Super friendly little village Chippy. Sean has worked hard to overcome nearby competition by providing excellent quality fish and chips and kebabs at a sensible price and with very friendly service. Just one word of warning.... unless you are mega hungry or sharing, don't order a large chips. The portions are huge.

I might be a bit biased writing this, but amazing food, amazing people who work there, so friendly and helpful. There is a wait sometimes but that's the freshest and best way

you wont get fresher fish and chips anywhere. its normal to have to wait a little as everything is cooked in small amounts so its always fresh. owner and staff are really pleasant and helpful.

I have eaten here for many years and every visit consists of great service, friendly staff and tasty food. I will continue to eat here regularly.

Quality Fry has been going for many years, and is well known in West Hallam. Several generations of my family have eaten the food here, but the last couple of times we've bought fish and chips here, we've regretted it. Everything is just too soggy! The batter is fatty and limp. My battered sausage was doughy and stodgy because the batter was so soft and heavy. The fish batter was greasy and not at all crispy. The chips were either not cooked long enough or not cooked at a high enough temperature...either way they were soft and soggy. I don't know why the food here has become so disappointing in recent months, but we would now rather drive in to Ilkeston than eat at Quality Fry ever again which is a big shame because we used to love this chippy.
