La Rock Restaurant in Erewash

On the 1st of November I had the most incredible 40th birthday party at La Rock. Daiva, Nick and all of the staff absolutely blew myself, my husband and all of the guests away with their exceptional standard of service. Now as regular customers we are used to their high standards but with 55 guests, nearly all of which were drinking they made sure everyone was attended to leaving everyone as impressed as we always are. There was never a queue at the bar, the food was incredible and the way they constantly checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying myself and everything was ok just added to the whole experience. I have the most ridiculously long list of foods I have to avoid and this never seems to be a problem. No matter how complex this gets they take it in their stride and serve me with dishes that look as good as every other guests. Their relaxed and calm manner helped when at times the night became quite overwhelming. I really can not recommend them more highly ❤️

This spot is very handy for us but wish we had travelled a bit further for better food. It wasn't horrible but very bland, lacked seasoning and my friend was still hungry after having 2 courses. This was my second visit and it was marginally better than the first time but I won't be going back. The staff are nice

This place was a hidden gem! So friendly and warm as soon as you walk in, the staff was very friendly and then the food arrived and was Michelin star standard ! I would recommend this is you want this standard of food but somewhere that’s casual and friendly!

This was my second visit to the restaurant after about a 6 year gap. It was everything I remembered. The food is amazing as is the service and ambience. There is just a touch of class about everything, even down to the cutlery and glassware. I just love it and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. A taste explosion with every mouthful.

La Rock is one of the best restaurants in Nottingham, it's food is consistently great. Imaginative plating with traditional and modern flavours. For a restaurant of this calibre the prices are very reasonable and the ambience and decor are lovely.

I went here this afternoon with my friend. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcomed. I always rate a place on it's service, because of a lot of places nowadays do not seem to care. But trust me, they do here. Through the whole meal you never have to want for anything. We decided to have the three course meal. They fill it with lots of little surprises all the way through. We'd had two little mouthfuls of delight before we even had the starter. The meal just went on to be one of best I've had. I like wine and they had a perfect glass to go with every dish. Im going to recommend I know to go here. Its proper classic dining but without the price tag.

Really enjoyable and I would love to come back. The staff are great. The food is delicious with a relatively simple menu, it hits the spot for the price. Things were perfectly cooked and the amuse-bouche between courses was an amazing little treat. I had the tortellini smoked chicken for starters and the beef fillet for mains. It was delicious. My partner was not drinking and there was a great selection of non alcoholic drinks. Over all a great experience I would want to do again. You should book before you come.

Lovely intimate setting. Great service and fabulous food. Amazing gin section and cocktails too! We have been here several times over past few years and it La Rock ever fails to impress.

Absolutely brilliant lunch time visit ! We did 3 courses and it was incredible value - with a few little treats in between and bread to die for.... the service was impeccable and the food quality was top notch. Visited La Rock for the first time for a Saturday lunch having been bought a voucher for my birthday and was very impressed. Had a couple of really good mocktails whilst choosing our food. Though a tasting menu was offered we preferred the choices on the a la carte so went down that route instead with a large glass of wine each. Interesting wine choices too with the ones we went for being from Macedonia and Libya. My salmon starter was very good, nicely seared and served with a great, salty dashi sauce. The main of fillet of beef was even better. Two decent-sized slabs of lovely pink beef and a disc of salty oxtail crumb accompanied with onion cooked a number of ways. The dulce de leche parfait dessert was a great finish to the meal. Service was good throughout and our choice of food and drink meant that while it wasn't cheap it was by no means bank-breaking. We had a very enjoyable lunch at La Rock and will definitely consider returning.

It's a fantastic place to go for a special occasion. Top quality food and wine, with excellent service. It is expensive but good to experience a top quality evening out. They have thought of everything from stepping in the door, socialising, dining and to going home.

This restaurant never fails, service and food is always top draw. Deservedly so recent award winners also. If you haven't tried it give yourself a treat.

Everything was just perfect. The food was as always outstanding. The hostess and staff were friendly and professional. Nothing was overpriced. Just like I remembered before the lockdown of 2020.

Visited for lunch and tried the tasting menu. Each dish was a delight with the mixture of flavours complementing each other. We thought the cheese course was also a nice touch. Both food and service excellent. This is definitely a restaurant to visit.

Wow, what a fantastic night, food was absolutely excellent, the flavour combinations were just out of this world, the amuse bouche of fish and chips was culinary genius, and it just got better. A rare 5* awarded from me. A little out of town (from Notts or Derby), situated in Sandiacre, with ample public parking directly opposite the restaurant. Staff were well presented, friendly and helpful. We sat downstairs, in a rustic but smart diving room, just the right level of lighting, and soft music in the background. The food was very very good considering the value (£100 per head, including a few drinks, tip, and 3 courses, with little extras in-between courses). The food is modern and creative, a nice small menu to choose from, and catered well for a few allergies. Totally unpretentious, yet stylish and creative.

Really special anniversary celebration for myself and my husband who has Parkinson’s. Very attentive staff took any stress out of the situation and helped us to and from our table with great sensitivity and thoughtfulness. Superb quality food with attention to fine detail In presentation and taste. Knowledgeable staff, friendly and efficient. Couldn’t do enough for us without being overpowering. Lovely calm atmosphere.Fantastic venue for a special occasion. The staff made it special , with particular thanks to Diva who even escorted my husband in his wheelchair to the carpark across the road. The perfect end to a perfect celebration. That's Nottingham or maybe Derby, depending on which side you say, "Ay up me duck." We must confess that we have not dined here for some years. The Lunch Menu 2 courses 45.00 3 courses 58.00 With a choice of four dishes per course. First up are two different little snacks. 'Fish & Chip'. Yes, it's a mouthful of a delicious chippy tee in one bite. Forget the lunch. Just bring a bowl of them. Can't remember what the other was. After that, you are served a nice slice of sourdough bread with butter that's been on the table since being seated. Which is a bit strange,but hey, ho. Starters Hand dived Orkney scallop,macadamia, quinoa, lime. *big and succulent. Pork belly, piccalilli, cauliflower. *served just right. Mains Beef & Oysters', dashi,mustard thermidor. *Now, this was a dish to remember. It's topped with the tastiest oyster ever. Halibut, trout, shrimp,bouillabaisse, saffron. *Two pieces of excellent fish. With the generous portions, we skipped desserts and had coffees. Which are served with a choice of choccies. The service was very good.

My sister and I took my mum here for her birthday lunch yesterday and we had a fabulous meal, still talking about the deliciousness. It is high end food, and fairly pricey but I would rather spend a bit more for a special occasion and have scrumptious food. We had three little amuse bouches, starter main and pud, and a wee raspberry sorbet palate cleanser. Everything was just perfect, and beautiful and sometimes a bit surprising in a good way. All washed down with a cocktail, a lovely glass of wine and some gently home carbonated water. Fabulous. Afterwards we were happily full, but not uncomfortably full, happy tummies!! Can’t wait for mums 94’th birthday to come back again!

There’s something absolutely magical about La Rock. It gets better and better with each and every visit and today’s visit was testament to that. It was another great experience - perfect in every way. The welcome and service are amazing, you’ll feel like you’re the only people in the restaurant and the quality of food is never less than sublime. I really can’t recommend La Rock enough. If you haven’t yet tried it, give it a go, you surely won’t be disappointed!

We went for Sunday lunch and the food was lovely. The service was brilliant a real nugget of a find. The maitre d’ Diva is so professional and courteous. It was that good we’re going back next week.

This place is amazing. Taster menu first Friday of the month is brilliant. If you like this type of food then for the price (compared to a Michelin), then you can't beat it! Normal nights are also brilliant too! Staff incredibly friendly too!

Absolutely fantastic lunch here on Friday, everything was perfect, service was just right, not over the top, explaining the food if you wanted which we did. The food however is really something special one thing that really stood out was a 'simple' appetiser, fish and chips (sure its not as simple as it sounds) will be back with the husband soon

Had another exceptional meal at this fabulous restaurant. From the initial meet and greet, champagne starter, 7 courses followed by coffee and petit fours, everything was exceptional. Attentive but not overbearing staff, explaining fully each course. Not cheap, but quality never is. If you're looking to spoil yourself for that special occasion, La Rock is the place. We received a voucher at Christmas having never heard of it, now I think it will be stuck in my mind forever. The food was exceptional, service was on another level, the whole setting and feel was just right. Thank you to all the staff for making one of the best food experiences of my life.

Daiva and her team made such a lot of effort to look after our party of 12. It felt like a really special occasion. We had drinks in the late afternoon sun outside before sitting down, and as we were there for over 4 hours, actually the event was very good value for money. Food was delightfully presented and really nicely cooked. I'd definitely return for a special occasion!

This place is fabulous, right down to the butter they put out on the table. The service was attentive and quick, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks were fabulous and the food devastatingly delicious. I was there for my Granddad's 95th birthday. My cousins and I (all in our early 20s) can get a little mischievous sometimes and the staff were great at working around this. We had so much fun and ate EXTREMELY well. Can there be a better restaurant in the East Midlands right now ? I doubt it. We came here today after an absence of two years and were delighted to see it has maintained its exemplary standards post-lockdown. The maitre d' must be the best in the Midlands, so hard working and engaging as she is. The service was superb and the food fantastic. If you have any doubts that a restaurant in suburban Sandiacre can be un-missable, think again. Update 3rd June 2022: Still excellent. How lucky we are to have this place within walking distance. Update 28th April 2023: Still fabulous. I hope everyone's reading this.

This place is truly a hidden gem. Having recently dined at Achemilia in Nottingham, LA Rock blows it out of the water. The service and quality of the food and drink are just superb. I can't believe such a place exists in sandiacre.

We went for an evening meal, 3 courses with 4 people. The service was friendly and welcoming, the food was everything you would expect for a high end meal and I would highly recommend a visit here for any kind of special occasion.

Truly fantastic food! Last time I went I had the Halibut (which was good enough for Jeho**h, incidentally), and, amongst other things an amazing fish and chips appetiser which is just genius! I also had the ginger mojito which was suuper tasty. This is a lovely place for foodies, but it's also relaxed, perfect for taking the parents or other half to.

Always just right and not overbearing with descriptions of every dish and always a smile. Really intimate restaurant, not too noisy and nicely decorated. Food was superb, delicious scallops and fillet of beef cooked to perfection. Lovely hors d'oevres too between courses. Price for three courses with wine and a cocktail for two was about £250. Will definitely return!

From the moment you park across the street in a free car park ('where can I park' anxiety covered), to the Apple sorbet palate freshener, La Rock is perfect! All the staff, including the Front of House, are lovely: happy, helpful and very well trained....
