The Nepali curry is one of the nicest, spiciest curries I've ever have. Honestly, perfect. Gives you a bit of sweat on but the flavours aren't lost. Very tasty.

I want to preface this review by saying that the food from Purple Lounge has always been superb, no issues there whatsoever. However, after the absolute farce of tonight's delivery I will not be returning to order - I have ordered multiple times takeaways, and dined twice in person - but not again. I ordered a takeaway, and after almost two hours of no delivery rang to chase it up. First, i was told that the driver had just left and It would be with me momentarily. Then, after no food for another 45 minutes, I called again and was told that my order "had gone ages ago" and that the driver had delivered it, This was patently not true, and would make no sense as to why I would lie - the driver is just going to come to the same house with a duplicate order?! They told me they would cook it again, and that I'd have to wait. So I did. While I was waiting, they called back and told me that they had spoken to the driver and they insisted they had delviered to the correct address, had delivered it to a "young girl" (no one lives here but me) and that I was a liar. I said no, send the same driver and you will see that when they actually get the right house that they had delivered it wrong. Finally received my order after 3 hours. The food is fine. The service is horrific to a customer who has ordered many times in the past. Never again. I will never order from a place that makes a mistake like that then lies to me, and then calls me dishonest. Pro tip - don't pay by card, pay by cash, that also stops other scroungers taking your food and getting a free meal.

I was at this place yesterday for the last time, for the first time I waited 1 hour: 45 minutes for the starters and for the main course. another hour and they didn't have the full amount and I asked for a bill, I waited another 30 minutes, they brought me a bill and the bill was $30 more than it should have been. I told them they started laughing if you want a good Indian restaurant use this Jaypur Balti, Indian Restaurant, Swinton I won't go back there, it's not worth it, it's very slow there and they rob people. be careful how much you pay and what you drink. I waited 20 minutes for cola and red wine RUINED MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

We didn't like the food at all, it was all only sugary sweet and no spicy touch like the actual Indian food is. We asked them to make it spicy before making and during eating again but they could not make it the actual Indian taste. If you actually want to eat proper Indian food, this restaurant is a big No No. Also, it is understaffed, we had to call the waiter over and over again to serve things still they forgot to bring papadoms with the meal meal to us. If didn't like any meal at all, but they didn't deduct the charges for us. In the end, we just paid and left. So, hope you know what to do and what not to....

Enjoyed the experience here, went for a birthday party, food was good, the restaurant itself was very fancy. Another good find!

Excellent food, Excellent service, 5 went for a birthday, drinks flowing especially cobra beer. Cost £160. So quite reasonable.

A tad disappointing The food was hot and freshly cooked and the portions very large However the taste and spiciness was lacking There was no distinctive taste, all 4 dishes tasted the same Jalfrezi, Karahi and Rogan Josh And her was no spiciness and 2 were supposed to be hot and 2 medium of which none tasted like that

Alhumdulillah, so where do I start! Well let's start with the company. A lovely evening with the family, however it was all spoilt by a the quality of.the food and secondly the service. So for the starter we had poppadoms, mix grill and chips. We where served poppadoms that had already broken in storage, so we had been served 1 full poppadoms and 2 x 3/4 pieces. When this was highlighted to the manager, he replaced them. Good on him. The starter, the mix grill was ok, however the dynamite Prawns where smaller than shrimps! Now the main course, the naan had been served cold, the Karai Ghost was full of onions tomatoes and a very sweet flavour! Does the chef actually know what a Karai dish is! Did we have dessert? What do you think. Well it was the first time! Will we go back...What do you think...

Couldn't fault this place at all. Everything from the food to the ambience was spot on. Spotlessly clean and the staff can't do enough for you. Food is delicious and very well presented and they do the best mocktails I've ever tasted. Love how you can roll the dice at the end and if you get a 6 you get your meal for free, brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Been here many times including Christmas Day, went for Fathers Day dinner and as usual the food was fantastic as well as the atmosphere, but the service was a different story. I had to complain firstly as other people were getting their food before us although having ordered later than ourselves, then I had to chase down a waiter to get some cutlery to eat my mains with after chasing down the same waiter to get some food that was missing and then I had to ask for the bill 4 times. Disappointing.

Great food at a decent price. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant in the area but our families go to, as the food is top notch. Budget £30 a head with drinks and you will be well rewarded with a cracking meal.

Worst curry I've ever had, Lamb chops were tougher than an old flip flop. I like a hot curry I'll eat a vindaloo but the jalfrezi was hotter than the sun its actually scared to go to the toilet it's going to rip me in half. Oh and to top it all they didn't even send the right order. Kids are in tears wife won't speak to me, thanks a lot purple lounge you've ruined an otherwise lovely weekend.

The sirloin steak was delicious. Disappointed with choice of desserts. The cheesecake arrived still frozen and had no taste.

So tasty - jalfrezi is hot and bhuna medium with lots of flavour. Love the onions and chilli dip with the poppadoms.

Where to start! I have eaten at purple lounge on a number of occasions with friends and always had a pleasant experience…. But tonight surpassed any expectations I might of ever had! I was in the middle of pouring rain loading my food shop into the car when my car decided to lock itself - leaving the key inside (stupid of me I know but It was right infront of when the boot shut). The app that controls my car needed updating so I went into the purple lounge to have some food and wait while it did so I could then unlock my car using my details. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful! They even rang a man who worked at land rover to advise on what else we could do! They got my son an ice cream after he ate all of his special nuggets and chips they made him…. Best hospitality I have ever had anywhere & fabulous food! I honestly can not thank them enough.

Located in Walkden shopping centre (next door to Aldi). There was plenty of parking and it was easy to find. I'm an allergy sufferer and even tho I'd read the menu to make sure I was fine to eat here they unfortunately added extras without letting me know (which unfortunately was something I was allergic to) they got me a replaced item straight away. It's definitely family friendly, but not somewhere I'd go for a couples date night. The servers were friendly and the food came quickly. We ordered madras but unfortunately there was not much flavour and just spice. They changed it to make it less spicy but it was still bland. I usually love spicy foods as long as it's got plenty of flavour.

Took the Mrs out for a meal during Ramadan. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very polite. Food was great and reasonably priced. Great place would defo recommend!

I have ordered food with purple longue and found I was missing some of my food items. I ring to ask of it can be amended and delivered. I get told and quote "there is nothing we can do. It is just eats problem I need to message them" I proceed to message just eat. All i can get is the option for a "potential refund" on said items, the items wont get delivered. 2 people missing food. Shocking customer service by purple longue. Absolutely shocking.

Very nice place but didn't get to experience it as we was sat on the outskirts haha, maybe next time we get a booth inshallah, staff very friendly, drinks service was a bit slow but it is ramadan so i completely understand, food was decent, however the steaks were a bit too chewy, i did tell my family not to order steak from indian restuarant as its not their speciality, the curry i had was very tasty, price is ok, will be back in future, thanks for looking after us. top quality ingredients and tasty

Third class food.. Seriously, this is not how Indian cuisine tastes like.. Prices are incredibly high for the taste of food.. We were just roaming around the place and saw this restaurant, so we thought to give it a try.. Luckily, it was Thursday, and they had an offer of 50% off for dine inn.. Anyways, when the bill came, there was no 50% off.. Upon asking why it's not 50% off and we were told that it's only for advance table reservation.. That's another turning off for us.. Complete scam with tasteless food.. For sure, it's a complete no-no for us.. They are literally faking the Indian cuisine..

This is the first time we have tried The Purple Lounge, and it won’t be the last! We booked online with only a couple of hours notice and I’m not sure if our booking had made it to the friendly staff as they weren’t aware of us. This didn’t matter, we were shown a table without any fuss. All the team were attentive and helpful, the food was superb and the Dhansak was exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t finish mine so was offered a takeaway box which I’m already looking forward to. Special thanks to Majid and all the team. We’ll see you soon!

This is glorified takeaway at best. I was also charge an extra £4.50 for a pasanda sauce I ordered with my biryani, it was plainly obviously I wanted this instead of a veg sauce. I’ve been eating in curry houses since before the waiter was born so I understand a biryani usually comes with a veg sauce, I wanted the pasaanda sauce instead of and made this clear, I didn’t expect to be charged another £4.50 extra. (Why would I want 2 sauces served with my dish!?!?) Nearly £4 for a tiny bowl of boiled rice, are you kidding me!? This are just sly tactics to maximise profit. My daughters tikka Masala was also bland and tasteless. You need to up your game A LOT. Also to charge what you do a for chutney tray and popsdoms is another sly tactic. Chutney should be FOC with popadoms. We will not be coming back.

Disgusting that the restaurant holds no responsibility for an Order being delivered incorrectly. No customer service help, rude operator and refused to help with order. I'm appalled

Simple awesome. From the ambience to the interior, the feel to the food, the variety in the food and drink menu to the most friendly staff, everything is undoubtedly amazing.

We came here for my partners birthday, I booked a table for 6:30 online, and also requested a highchair , when we arrived the young waiter had no knowledge and seemed quite flustered, when he shown us to our booth I requested a high chair, and he said “ you need a high chair?” So I said yes with my 1 year old in my arms, then we was told to sit back in the lounge while he served another customer. Then another waiter came over and shown us to a different table and got us a high chair with out having to ask. Then we ordered our food which was really lovely, and I would recommend. The same waiter that served us first brought our chips over and offered the baby the bowl, to which obviously he went to grab one, The waiter then pulled the bowl away and said no there to hot, why offer them in the first place. I understand maybe he was just being friendly but it’s common sense and we were lucky that he didn’t have a melt down. We would return, but the service by that waiter lets this place down massively

First. The food was wonderful as always so thank you very much. But then the service let us down. We had booked a table for 7.30 which wasn't ready on our arrival so we had to wait. Then instead of the normal standard of service it was like we were being rushed. Bit like they didn't want us in the place. We are paying customers and don't deserve to be rushed. Our plates when we were finished just got snatched from the table and the bill just got thrown at us basically got thrown at us. I give the extra star for the guy who took the payment. At least he was friendly and patient with us. But due to the overall service. Without an apology we will not be returning.

The food was good. But the staff not so good. Not one smile between them all. Felt like they couldn’t be bothered with us. Definitely will not go there again. Service shocking.

What is going on with Indian restaurants that also serve takeaways as well as sit-down dining ? I'm getting fed up with the times I've had superb meal in the restaurant and then decide to get a takeaway from the same place and it's rubbish, totally different to the eat in experience. Do they have an untrained chef just to do takeaways ? This isn't a complaint about the Purple Lounge in general as it's happening everywhere. What's going on ? A takeaway costs nearly the same as a restaurant meal these days, so why can't it be the same quality ?

The Christmas meal was rubbish to say the least, not even close to a Christmas meal bad couldn't eat icost a lot for a plate of sprouts few carrots small Yorkshire pud and tinned turkey? That's was Christmas dinner not worth even a fiver.

Had a great experience here dinning in with my family for a birthday party. Wasnt my decision to come here as someone else booked but really enjoyed it. Hope to be back soon

The restaurant left me to look at the menu for 20 minutes and then told me I couldn't have anything on the menu. The only thing I could have was a chicken or lamb curry with boiled rice. That none of the other dishes could be given to me due to cross contamination. I know that there can always be cross contamination and this does not stop me from eating out. This is not an allergy or intollerance friendly place at all, I could have got just a lamb curry from any pub for cheaper! Will not be returning I would have walked out if I was not bringing my parents out for a special meal.

Everything was cold, popadoms was stale. Only our second time ordering from here. First time was lovely food and hot. Don’t know what happened with this set meal for two but not one bit of it was worth it.

Ordered two meals, One didn't arrive, rice arrived cold. Phoned up, didn't get a sorry, and they hung up on me before I could ask for warm rice to be sent with our missing curry. Shocking customer service all around.

Having just ordered and waited 15 /20 minutes for a takeaway meal , I can honestly say this meal was very disappointing, lukewarm chips , lukewarm rice , warm tasteless chicken tikka masala , a Keema Nan that was wet and doughy , very nice building , but I went for a meal to take home by my car , not walking home , less than 5 minutes by car , not cheap, £27.50 for a takeaway curry that most of its ended up in the recycling bin is not good , staff not rushed of their feet , so no reason to be poor quality, sorry but just being honest , I didn't want to microwave it as I didn't know if the rice had already been done this way won't be going again

I tried this place as my favourite indian is shut on a tuesday, and I have to say I was expecting better quality for the price that I paid. They gave two free samosas, which is kind(thank you), and the delivery time was bang on. Chutney tray is really tasty! The tikka masala sauce was nice if you like it to be more creamy. Unfortunately, we thought the chicken could have been softer, a little too chewy to our liking. Biggest let down was the rice, its pretty tough like undercooked microwave rice. Fast and friendly service, but I don't think we would try it again.

Having recently moved to the area we decided to try our local Indian restaurant and it did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and helpful regarding menu choices. The dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. The quality of ingredients and spices were top quality. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening and was nice to meet and chat with Mo, the Manager/Owner at the end of the evening .

Avoid this place! Sent a totally wrong order (2 x rice instead of 1 rice and 1 curry). I thought no bother mistakes happen. Telephoned them to explain the error, and I was told was nothing to do with them. Informed to take it up with the delivery company! The only issue with that suggestion is that was fully sealed, in other words the fob off that the delivery driver took switched the curry is an absolute nonsense, just like this pathetic takeaway!

Horrible place. Waiters giving going it the biggun when bill is wrong pretenting it's their business. We were the only ones on there and no wonder. Absolutely never again. While we were in there there only other person we saw was someone complaining their takeaway was wrong. £100 wasted.

Good quality food at a reasonable price. The place was very quiet on our visit, with a few more people in the place the atmosphere would be good. The staff do their job.

Food was absolutely amazing. As a family we tried the bhuna, dansak & tikka masala and the food didn't disappoint. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great & the staff are great & go out there way to look after you.

Me and my wife came in inquiring if we could have a drink while we wait for our lift. We were told yes at first by the bar tender. The place seemed really lovely and we would have definitely return for a meal. As we were about to take our seat we were told that they only accepted dining in and were asked to leave quite rudely. We would have understood if the restaurant was busy. There was plenty of table available but it seems we were not welcome. Due to this we will not be returning. Thanks but no thanks.

Fantastic food and service I would recommend this place.

We pre booked our table and went to 8th August Tuesday , saw two or 3 very friendly new staffs here . The food were great as every time we’ve visited and those staffs who was in service in 8th August made our day more enjoyable and how they care us and our children 🙏Thanks to purple lounge authorities and I believe they’ll keep their food and service like this 😃

The staff could not make it more apparent that our children weren’t welcome as they snarled and rolled their eyes throughout our time there. We were put under pressure to order as soon as we arrived and after ordering our main was with us within 7 minutes so needless to say it tasted of nothing. As we were just about to order our desert we were produced with a bill without anyone even asking if we had done. Due to the fact we were pretty much forced out of the restaurant within an hour we had hardly ordered any food between our two families but it still ended costing several hundred pounds. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Didn't even get to the food we had ordered as they sent my partners drink out with ants (insects) floating in it sent back brought a complete different drink out with a dirty glass i then checked the cobra pint I had ordered and the glass was filthy which magically the waiter couldn't see then i cancelled the food we originally ordered and tried to charge me double for the drinks we had ordered wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy !!!

When this place first opened it was actually decent, now it’s just overpriced and lacks flavour, my last two takeaway from here have been dreadful. Payed £15.95 for a tandoori king prawn masala which had 3 prawns in it! The massala literally had no flavour to it what so ever, I could have made better myself. It was like half a curry that you get from any other resteraunt/takeaway honestly £15.95 for such a small portion I was not impressed, felt like they have had my pants down. compared to other restaurants this place is a shambles. NEVER will I waste my money here again.

Rang to book a table at the last minute and even though they were on the verge of closing, the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were the only table in there, but they didn't rush us in any way. The food was great and the place was spotless.
