Curry’s spilt all over bag and was inedible, chips were cold and naan bread was burnt and unedible, popadoms were all dry and soft

Had a lovely meal in the purple lounge tonight. Food was absolutely 100%. Hot, sizzling and big portions. Had to take some home. Tandoori mixed grill best ever! Ash our waiter was attentive and friendly. Made us feel really welcome. Ash was actually training another waiter, showing how to be as professional as he is. Well done Ash. Thanks to all the great staff, they all make you feel welcome and the service is second to none. See you again very very soon.

Came tonight to celebrate a meal for my step mum, all I can say is what a amazing night we had, drinks were lovely the food was so tasty and arrived nice and hot and was beautiful and presented lovely aswell. I do have to give a big praise to the waiter Ash, he honestly made our night and was so attentive and made sure we had everything and is a lovely gentleman he is an asset to this place. So thankyou Ash for making the night as special for us x

My husband and I went for a meal on Sunday, and what a terrible service we had. We got a bottle of wine and pompadoms, whilst choosing food, no body came to us to place an order for around half an hour, I caught the attention of a waiter, where we still waited for a further 10 minutes to place an order, we both said if they do not come before we had finished the wine, we would leave, one bottle of wine and 4 pompadoms later, the food came where we had to order more drinks! The lamb was chewy and the chicken dry! For that service it cost £72! What a waste of money! The service was shocking with the food not much better! We will not be going again!

We have eaten at the Purple Lounge many times and always enjoyed the service and food. Takeaways have always been hit & miss but tonight was another level. We ordered before 6pm and food was expected at the latest by 6.52pm. 3 phone calls later and after 8pm we finally received our food. First phone call on its way, 2nd phone call it’s being plated up and the final phone call he was 2 minutes away (yet we still waited another 20!). From the temperature of the food it had obviously been sat in the car for a long time. During the final phone call, we were offered a discount next time but due to hearing so many lies this will be our last time dining at or ordering a takeaway from the Purple Lounge.

We had booking for five which included a child, and I cannot fault anything about this restaurant from the food to staff. Our waiter Ash rahman (I had to ask his name for acknowledgement) went above and beyond for us and made sure we all enjoyed our time and give us anything we needed. The other staff on shift were all polite and very approachable and give us every reason to come back again. The food was absolutely spot on with no faults the lamb bhuna I had was absolutely delicious. Purple lounge is certainly a restaurant for people who love good authentic food in a relaxed environment. Pretty reasonably priced aswell

We had our end of season presentation meal for Folly Lane RUFC here. It was stunning. There was in excess of 30 people in the party and the service was outstanding. Food was lovely - highly recommended. The ambiance was beautiful.

I'm normally the type of girl who hates new places, new food etc, i was quite adamant on only ordering a jalfrezi but I thought I'd try a change. I tried another dish that was inspired by a jalfrezi and the flavour was a wow factor. I had their coconut drink, loved it however half way through a small fly got in my drink, not the restaurant fault nor my fault but it was very easy to grab the staffs attention compared to some places. The staff was quick to action and made me a new one immediately and checked up on me. Our server told my partner what they'd recommend as a sauce for the grill and the sauce didn't disappoint. We love spice and flavour and this place delivered. Only downside is the dynamite chicken as starters, not my favourite as it was giving spicy mayo flavour and I don't like mayo. But my partner loved it. This place is my number 1 curry place from now on. I will be ordering more of the menu and trying new curries.

It was ok. My kids took me here for my birthday treat. It's not really my cup of tea. The food was average. The lamb dishes were not nice at all. I don't think the meat was lamb as it was too tough..we ordered a lamb curry and they give chicken instead, however they did make another one for us but obviously it came after we had eaten. It's a lovely place but I don't think I will be visiting here again.

After 2 great takeout orders from purple lounge in the past we decided to eat in the restaurant. My partners food was great and he really enjoyed it. My starter Dynamite prawns were absolutely drowned in some kind of spicy mayonnaise… there was so much of it I could have filled a jar and it was extremely rich and sickly, the prawns were apparently in batter, if they were it was pointless as the absolute sea of mayonnaise took away from any texture or flavour they may have had. But maybe that’s just how the dish is served and just wasn’t to my taste. My main course was rack of lamb. Sadly there was barely any meat on it, just an awful lot of fat, which once removed left just bone.The sauce it came with was nice but I felt a bit sick after my starter so I didn’t manage to eat much of it. The service was quite poor at times, Unfriendly staff, we asked for condiments on 2 occasions which didn’t arrive. Food trolleys were pushed into our table with no apology. It was like walkdens very own fawlty towers! The restaurant itself was lovely and had a good atmosphere, and based upon previous experiences and good reviews from other guests I’m guessing it was just an off night, maybe they were short staffed or our waiter hadn’t had a good day, as the eternal optimist I probably will go back as the food we’ve ordered previously for takeout has been excellent

Don’t waste your money!! Walked into to a lad who looked at us like we had to heads, not a smile between the two lads working looked like they didn’t wanna be there, no matters nothing, we ordered a garlic mushroom starter we literally got 5 breaded mushrooms from a frozen packet on a a plate with some weird sauce, the curry itself was bland and the lamb tikka you needed a stihl saw to cunt it with, terrible food, then we had been told about the dice game at the end of u rolled a 6 you get your meal for free and much the kids was excited about, we mentioned the purple magi to activate the game and the waiters said they couldn’t find the dice 😂😂😂 just didn’t wanna risk losing 60 quid which dosent suprise me as there was only two tables in a massive restaurant with people on them, which now makes sense! Looks the part but nothing on the old tradition Indians local to it! Won’t be returning!

After waiting over an hour the app constantly adding time on I phoned the restaurant and they said the driver hadn’t turned up for the food and the food had been cooked and was waiting. When it eventually turned up the driver blamed the restaurant. The driver was very polite and very nice. The food was cold and very disappointing with your service and the restaurant

Got a takeaway - korma and butter chicken. All the food was very bland and watery, garlic naan was not garlicky and very doughy. Was not worth the money at all. Staff were okay but will not be back. Could get a better curry out a jar. Really disappointing.

asalamalakim, me and my partner visited here tonight and unfortunately wasn't the food for us. The atmosphere was pretty and the guy who served us was very helpful. We expected so much more but was terribly let down. We had to leave our food with only a few bites taken. The food prices was too expensive also. We don't mind paying a little more for the quality of food but unfortunately we won't be returning. This wasn't the taste of India. Very disappointed.

The worst dining out experience for me in 24 months of living in England and that too just in Manchester. The food is average but eatable however the staff is absolutely ridiculous. Extremely undertrained and inappropriate behaviour. All that shines is not gold makes sense when you eat at this restaurant. We ordered 2 starters and a main lamb tikka thawwa. Mentioned the order 3 times. The waiter was interested in licking my butt for neing a brown guy rather than focusing on his order taking skills. There’s were literally just 2 tables being served. The first starter literally arrives after 35 MINUTES of waiting. That’s just a starter. The whole food is served after 50 mins of ordering. And guess what? Wrong order! Brought Chicken thawwa 😂 On confirming with the manager i was shocked to find out he had actually taken the wrong order. I cancelled it and asked for lamb however in literally 2 mins i told him cancel it as we cannot wait further and need to leave. Although we were told it will take some time the manager harshly replied “if you come to a restaurant you should know it takes time to gather things”. Lol as if we never dined out and themlongest i had tk wait was 30 mins for the whole food that too in a full and busy restaurant. The manager’s behaviour and tone is the most unprofessional and undertrained ive ever witnessed! Cherry on the top? they made rhe wrong bill. Charged me for 3 starters when i had ordered 2. What if i didn’t check? PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND ABOID THIS PLACE. Trust me this ruined a great day for me.

The Nepali curry is one of the nicest, spiciest curries I've ever have. Honestly, perfect. Gives you a bit of sweat on but the flavours aren't lost. Very tasty.

Then, after no food for another 45 minutes, I called again and was told that my order "had gone ages ago" and that the driver had delivered it, This was patently not true, and would make no sense as to why I would lie - the driver is just going to come to the same house with a duplicate order?! They told me they would cook it again, and that I'd have to wait. So I did. While I was waiting, they called back and told me that they had spoken to the driver and they insisted they had delviered to the correct address, had delivered it to a "young girl" (no one lives here but me) and that I was a liar. I said no, send the same driver and you will see that when they actually get the right house that they had delivered it wrong. Finally received my order after 3 hours. The food is fine. The service is horrific to a customer who has ordered many times in the past. Never again. I will never order from a place that makes a mistake like that then lies to me, and then calls me dishonest. Pro tip - don't pay by card, pay by cash, that also stops other scroungers taking your food and getting a free meal.

I was at this place yesterday for the last time, for the first time I waited 1 hour: 45 minutes for the starters and for the main course. another hour and they didn't have the full amount and I asked for a bill, I waited another 30 minutes, they brought me a bill and the bill was $30 more than it should have been. I told them they started laughing if you want a good Indian restaurant use this Jaypur Balti, Indian Restaurant, Swinton I won't go back there, it's not worth it, it's very slow there and they rob people. be careful how much you pay and what you drink. I waited 20 minutes for cola and red wine RUINED MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

We didn't like the food at all, it was all only sugary sweet and no spicy touch like the actual Indian food is. We asked them to make it spicy before making and during eating again but they could not make it the actual Indian taste. If you actually want to eat proper Indian food, this restaurant is a big No No. Also, it is understaffed, we had to call the waiter over and over again to serve things still they forgot to bring papadoms with the meal meal to us. If didn't like any meal at all, but they didn't deduct the charges for us. In the end, we just paid and left. So, hope you know what to do and what not to....

Alhumdulillah, so where do I start! Well let's start with the company. A lovely evening with the family, however it was all spoilt by a the quality of.the food and secondly the service. So for the starter we had poppadoms, mix grill and chips. We where served poppadoms that had already broken in storage, so we had been served 1 full poppadoms and 2 x 3/4 pieces. When this was highlighted to the manager, he replaced them. Good on him. The starter, the mix grill was ok, however the dynamite Prawns where smaller than shrimps! Now the main course, the naan had been served cold, the Karai Ghost was full of onions tomatoes and a very sweet flavour! Does the chef actually know what a Karai dish is! Did we have dessert? What do you think. Well it was the first time! Will we go back...What do you think...

Couldn't fault this place at all. Everything from the food to the ambience was spot on. Spotlessly clean and the staff can't do enough for you. Food is delicious and very well presented and they do the best mocktails I've ever tasted. Love how you can roll the dice at the end and if you get a 6 you get your meal for free, brilliant. Been here many times including Christmas Day, went for Fathers Day dinner and as usual the food was fantastic as well as the atmosphere, but the service was a different story. I had to complain firstly as other people were getting their food before us although having ordered later than ourselves, then I had to chase down a waiter to get some cutlery to eat my mains with after chasing down the same waiter to get some food that was missing and then I had to ask for the bill 4 times. Disappointing.

Great food at a decent price. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant in the area but our families go to, as the food is top notch. Budget £30 a head with drinks and you will be well rewarded with a cracking meal.

Worst curry I've ever had, Lamb chops were tougher than an old flip flop. I like a hot curry I'll eat a vindaloo but the jalfrezi was hotter than the sun its actually scared to go to the toilet it's going to rip me in half. Oh and to top it all they didn't even send the right order. Kids are in tears wife won't speak to me, thanks a lot purple lounge you've ruined an otherwise lovely weekend.

Where to start! I have eaten at purple lounge on a number of occasions with friends and always had a pleasant experience…. But tonight surpassed any expectations I might of ever had! I was in the middle of pouring rain loading my food shop into the car when my car decided to lock itself - leaving the key inside (stupid of me I know but It was right infront of when the boot shut). The app that controls my car needed updating so I went into the purple lounge to have some food and wait while it did so I could then unlock my car using my details. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful! They even rang a man who worked at land rover to advise on what else we could do! They got my son an ice cream after he ate all of his special nuggets and chips they made him…. Best hospitality I have ever had anywhere & fabulous food! I honestly can not thank them enough.

Located in Walkden shopping centre (next door to Aldi). There was plenty of parking and it was easy to find. I'm an allergy sufferer and even tho I'd read the menu to make sure I was fine to eat here they unfortunately added extras without letting me know (which unfortunately was something I was allergic to) they got me a replaced item straight away. It's definitely family friendly, but not somewhere I'd go for a couples date night. The servers were friendly and the food came quickly. We ordered madras but unfortunately there was not much flavour and just spice. They changed it to make it less spicy but it was still bland. I usually love spicy foods as long as it's got plenty of flavour.

I have ordered food with purple longue and found I was missing some of my food items. I ring to ask of it can be amended and delivered. I get told and quote "there is nothing we can do. It is just eats problem I need to message them" I proceed to message just eat. All i can get is the option for a "potential refund" on said items, the items wont get delivered. 2 people missing food. Shocking customer service by purple longue. Absolutely shocking.

Very nice place but didn't get to experience it as we was sat on the outskirts haha, maybe next time we get a booth inshallah, staff very friendly, drinks service was a bit slow but it is ramadan so i completely understand, food was decent, however the steaks were a bit too chewy, i did tell my family not to order steak from indian restuarant as its not their speciality, the curry i had was very tasty, price is ok, will be back in future, thanks for looking after us. Third class food.. Seriously, this is not how Indian cuisine tastes like.. Prices are incredibly high for the taste of food.. We were just roaming around the place and saw this restaurant, so we thought to give it a try.. Luckily, it was Thursday, and they had an offer of 50% off for dine inn.. Anyways, when the bill came, there was no 50% off.. Upon asking why it's not 50% off and we were told that it's only for advance table reservation.. That's another turning off for us.. Complete scam with tasteless food.. For sure, it's a complete no-no for us.. They are literally faking the Indian cuisine..

This is the first time we have tried The Purple Lounge, and it won’t be the last! We booked online with only a couple of hours notice and I’m not sure if our booking had made it to the friendly staff as they weren’t aware of us. This didn’t matter, we were shown a table without any fuss. All the team were attentive and helpful, the food was superb and the Dhansak was exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t finish mine so was offered a takeaway box which I’m already looking forward to. Special thanks to Majid and all the team. We’ll see you soon!

This is glorified takeaway at best. I was also charge an extra £4.50 for a pasanda sauce I ordered with my biryani, it was plainly obviously I wanted this instead of a veg sauce. I’ve been eating in curry houses since before the waiter was born so I understand a biryani usually comes with a veg sauce, I wanted the pasaanda sauce instead of and made this clear, I didn’t expect to be charged another £4.50 extra. (Why would I want 2 sauces served with my dish!?!?) Nearly £4 for a tiny bowl of boiled rice, are you kidding me!? This are just sly tactics to maximise profit. My daughters tikka Masala was also bland and tasteless. You need to up your game A LOT. Also to charge what you do a for chutney tray and popsdoms is another sly tactic. Chutney should be FOC with popadoms. We will not be coming back.

Simple awesome. From the ambience to the interior, the feel to the food, the variety in the food and drink menu to the most friendly staff, everything is undoubtedly amazing.

We came here for my partners birthday, I booked a table for 6:30 online, and also requested a highchair , when we arrived the young waiter had no knowledge and seemed quite flustered, when he shown us to our booth I requested a high chair, and he said “ you need a high chair?” So I said yes with my 1 year old in my arms, then we was told to sit back in the lounge while he served another customer. Then another waiter came over and shown us to a different table and got us a high chair with out having to ask. Then we ordered our food which was really lovely, and I would recommend. The same waiter that served us first brought our chips over and offered the baby the bowl, to which obviously he went to grab one, The waiter then pulled the bowl away and said no there to hot, why offer them in the first place. I understand maybe he was just being friendly but it’s common sense and we were lucky that he didn’t have a melt down. We would return, but the service by that waiter lets this place down massively

First. The food was wonderful as always so thank you very much. But then the service let us down. We had booked a table for 7.30 which wasn't ready on our arrival so we had to wait. Then instead of the normal standard of service it was like we were being rushed. Bit like they didn't want us in the place. We are paying customers and don't deserve to be rushed. Our plates when we were finished just got snatched from the table and the bill just got thrown at us basically got thrown at us. I give the extra star for the guy who took the payment. At least he was friendly and patient with us. But due to the overall service. Without an apology we will not be returning.

What is going on with Indian restaurants that also serve takeaways as well as sit-down dining ? I'm getting fed up with the times I've had superb meal in the restaurant and then decide to get a takeaway from the same place and it's rubbish, totally different to the eat in experience. Do they have an untrained chef just to do takeaways ? This isn't a complaint about the Purple Lounge in general as it's happening everywhere. What's going on ? A takeaway costs nearly the same as a restaurant meal these days, so why can't it be the same quality ?

Had a cold curry and rice for the second time in the space of two weeks and mixing drinks It’s not cheap these days either Lost a good customer won’t be ordering again

The Christmas meal was rubbish to say the least, not even close to a Christmas meal bad couldn't eat icost a lot for a plate of sprouts few carrots small Yorkshire pud and tinned turkey? That's was Christmas dinner not worth even a fiver.

Had a great experience here dinning in with my family for a birthday party. Wasnt my decision to come here as someone else booked but really enjoyed it. Hope to be back soon
