Superb food. Not the usual pre-cooked stuff you tend to find in this sort of restaurant. Fresh, vibrant dishes and an extensive menu. Quite a small venue but very big on quality. Top marks from me.

Thought the starters, sides and general atmosphere was pretty good but the chicken Dhansak was the spiciest iv ever had and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. £4.50 for a pint of flat Diet Coke served out a bottle was a bit cheeky aswell.

People rave about this place so we popped over and grabbed a takeaway All dishes completely tasteless . Will be giving a wide berth in future

Terrible service and mediocre food. I hate sitting down and waiting for nearly half an hour to get a drink and we got one cause called someone in the end. We got nothing unless we called someone for it, terrible service and they looked miserable like they had some where better to be . Food was ok but nothing to get excited about - won’t be rushing back there. They obviously had their locals and were friendly and attentive with them but if you weren’t a local u may as well not bother.

Went midweek, a table was made available. The service throughout the meal was exemplary. The menu is very good with dishes we had not sampled before. The food was fantastic, my only quibble being the amount of sauce, it was beautifully spiced, but perhaps if we had a bread it wouldn’t have mattered as much. The value was definitely excellent and we would definitely come back.

Friends introduced us to this little curry restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff who introduced themselves and quickly took our order. I had the duck tikka starter which comprised of only 3 pieces and was a little overcooked. For my main course I had my "usual" king prawn vindaloo which although tasty was probably the spiciest I have ever had. The portions of the curries and rice we had were all generous but the naans were on the small side. All said and done it was a nice meal with very good service throughout.

Can't fault the food here, we have tried quite a few of the menu options and have never had a bad meal.

My partner and I wanted a midweek takeaway so decided to book a takeaway from the Purple Ivy. As it’s the nearest to us. We had high hopes and we were looking forward to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can’t fault that at all. The main issue was the main dishes. The meat we had was very dry and tough and the sauce, for me was both overly sweet and lacked spice. It was bland. Maybe this was just a one off and a bad day as I see the Purple Ivy gets good reviews. So don’t let this review put you off. We may give them another go and see how it goes. But on this one occasion. Was sadly disappointed.

Visited with old work mates. The decor is inviting, the service and staff were excellent. We weren't rushed and once ordered the food came promptly. I had a chicken balti and naan. It was a good sized portion and very good. Highly recommended.

Went we the Purple Ivy last night - table of 4. It was a great meal. I loved the House Special they gave me extra coriander which I love. We had wine and beers and it came to £100 which was great value for a great quality meal. We’ll be back.

Good service. A very nice selection on the menu. Portions are generous. Good quality flavours. Made two succesive visits on my business trip. Will be back on my next trip.

A very good menu selection. The lamb in the Chilli Modi specialty was tender, a very tasty sauce. Chicken chana palek equally tasty. Accompanied with a Tarka dhall, Veg rice and a stuffed Paratha. Service was very good too.

After the lifting of the COVID Restrictions we decided to travel over to the restaurant where we have had great food before. The restaurant was busy as usual. The food was yet again stunning, with the Nan breads fresh and hot. My wife and I loved our food and the service was great and attentive. Do yourselves a favour and try it.

You always know its going to be a good experience in a restaurant, when you're met with a genuine warm smile and they remember you... Without sounding annoyingly arrogant, I have travelled, and sampled Indian cuisine in India and the middle east, and hands down this quaint little hidden gem nestled in the heart of Brixworth served up the most surprisingly, delicious, rich and well balanced Indian food I've ever had!

Just what we needed.. a fantastic meal, fantastic service and a great relaxing atmosphere ♥️ We Will be back again. Thank you to the whole team, front team, chefs and behind the scenes.

We have visited Purple Ivy on many occasion and the food is always lovely, but last night we were seated on one on the tables by the bar (Every other table was empty as it was early) and our lovely meal was constantly interrupted by the phone and people coming in for their takeaways. Don't get me wrong, I am delighted to see the business do well in these strange times, but when I mentioned this to the woman, she didn't offer any apology, just that all the other tables were booked (We had booked ours too) and at the time we left the restaurant they were still empty so this left me feeling very undervalued. She was actually quite rude and dismissive, so I'm not sure how I feel about going back, and will spend our money in restaurants who do value our business. There was no track and tracing in place either, nor did the staff wear face coverings and service was slow whilst they dealt with all the takeaways. Shame as the food is lovely and I want to support our local restaurant. Sadly not this one for the near future

Visited here several times now and never been disappointed. Freshly made dishes served by friendly knowledgeable staff. Even post lockdown its a lovely place to visit or get takeaway. Highly recommended.

Very good Restaurant, serves all the usual Indian meals, very tasty, and reasonably priced. Would have given the full 5/5 but service is a bit slow, and not very attentive, also not that many chef specials or anything to set it apart from other Indian Restaurants. They also do Take always which are again only a 4/5 as nothing special, the meals are very well portioned and very tasty, but just lacking that “wow” factor to get a 5/5 from me. Nothing different to any other Indian restaurant.

I visited the purple ivy with my parents who live in brixworth we arrived at 8 oclock and was promptly seated. This is the 4th time I've been to this establishment and it's always been a brilliant experience. The restaurant is always immaculately clean and tidy and the staff are very helpful without being intruding. After a few minutes our drinks order was taken and we chose which dishes we were going to have. The lamb chops are out of this world but this time we all had the purre which was just as nice. The main courses where very tasty and very authentic we also have a few side dishes which were just brilliant. I would highly recommend the purple ivy from start to finish it was a wonderful experience and definitely my favourite restaurant in brixworth cant wait to go again soon

We went for dinner on January 1st. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for the day. Neverthel less we were promptly and courtesy greeted and shown to our table. Our orders for drinks and food were promptly taken and served. Food was very nice and reasonably priced.An enjoyable experience which we will repeat.

We were recommended this restaurant and decided to get a takeaway. Staff were lovely and the this is the best Indian take away I have tasted in such a long time. Will be back !!

Such an awesome indian restaurant. Lots of intetesting and different choices, very high quality flavours too. Best of all was the service, particularly the lovely indian lady who served us and who explained the menu. Our teenagers and younger ones haven't stopped talking about our evening since.We'll be back!

We have been going here for some time and live locally. This is my young daughters favourite place to eat. We have been this evening and to be fair it wasn’t planned. The food was really good and as always the owners were lovely and welcoming. My meal was the best I have had to date but it’s worth saying I have never had a bad one.At the end of the meal they gave my daughter a drink to take with her and I have to say it was a really nice thing to do.Can’t recommend this place enough.

We booked for my Husbands birthday. We had a Thali which is a specials night, the food was amazing the staff made you feel special as though they had always known us. I would highly recommend. Such a lovely village Indian restaurant

For a Sunday evening out it wasn’t crowded but it deserved to be (and it usually is if the weather hadn’t been so awful). Great lamb Jalfrezi. Great veggie too. And not expensive and lovely service.

As we were in the area we decided to look for a nice meal out, purple had great reviews. Service was great and food excellent, could not fault it in any way tbh. Staff were excellent and attentive when needed. Will visit again if in the area.

Sat in the restaraunt for an hour and 30 minutes waiting for our first course. During that time the restaurant was full of people waiting for takeaways. It was like the London Underground at 8am on a monday morning. Food was very nice. But in future we will go to the Bombay Palace in Kingsthorpe for a nicier experience.

I have to say, I have never experienced a restaurant quite like the purple ivy.

Haven’t had an Indian better than what you get from here. Top service brilliant food. Probably order twice a week, from these guys only ever had 2 problems. Was sorted straight away. And I got it replaced free excharge. Perfect food perfect service.

Probably the best food that I have ever eaten at an Indian Restaurant - and this is after eating out for 40+ years btw! Staff very knowledgeable on menu options, excellent service and reasonable priced for the (vast) amount of food that we ordered. Will definitely revisit next time I am in Northampton.

It was an extremely hot night and we changed our choice of restaurant after some advice. All four of us loved our dishes and the service was terrific, though not too busy because of the heatwave.

Very impressed with the fast service. All the staff were attentive and they sorted us quick. No booking in advance, we just called 10min before and I was surprised we got a table as the restaurant was busy. A bit small and noisy but that's probably because is a popular place. Will definitely be back

We enjoyed a lovely evening at The Purple Ivy. The food was very good and beautifully served. We had not booked so the service was a bit rushed as the table was required for another booking - so book early. Staff were very pleasant and efficient.

Busy Saturday Night, service slow to start with, but after we got their attention all good. Food great and timely. Nice atmosphere.

My husband and I used to frequent Wild Ginger in St Crispins every other week for several years. We sadly had to move, and wished we could take the local restaurant with us...

This has got to be the best Indian restaurant in Northampton the food and quality of service is second to none We will definitley be visiting the restaurant on a regular basis 10 out of 10

What's not to like about this restaurant. It has grown from strength to strength since it opened. Just had a lovely chicken tikka main course that came with a relish. Absolutely lovely. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. True asset to the village of Brixworth.

We visited on a Friday evening for a family meal. The service and attention to detail was excellent. The staff were more than happy to adapt their menu to plant based. Great place for vegans get healthy food options.

We regularly have a takeaway from Purple Ivy (weekly) and on occasion eat in the restaurant. We are big fans of Indian/Bangladesh food and curries and have eaten at many of these takeaways and restaurants in Northamptonshire. Purple ivy is by far the best. Their dhansak is exceptional. We are lucky to have this well run establishment with friendly staff and great food near us.

Visited for my birthday meal with family, on a Monday evening. The food here is amazing and does not disappoint. Sultana and her team are so friendly and the service cannot be faulted. My two young children were eating here for the first time and they made a fuss over them and accommodated them wonderfully. They even gave them extra hot lemon face cleaning towels to take home!!

Bad experience at an Indian in Long Buckby two weeks ago but good reports of the Purple Ivy so thought we would try and it was a great success in spite of eating far too much over Christmas. Great Chicken Jalfrezi with terrific starter platter shared between us. And a bit cheaper than Long Buckby which is always good.

Delicious food and a friendly and helpful service in a nice village location. A good menu offering fish options and a good selection of vegetarian food. When so many villages are losing facilities it's good to see a new restaurant open and best successful. It's a good idea to book because the restaurant can get busy.

We regularly go to the Purple Ivy, both for takeaway and eating in. Each time we go, we’re more than happy with the quality of food and the staff are great and very patient when we take our kids! I recommend the Lamb Dhansak!

We had our cousins to stay and my husband and them being from Birmingham they have high standards when it comes to curry. We were all unanimous that the food was spectacular, very fresh and well made not just lots of different flavoured "gravy sauces" like some restaurants can be.

Had a takeaway from here when it first opened which was really good but tonigjt was first time we have managed to dine in the restaurant. Certainly won't be long before we do it again though as food was superb, staff really efficient and the ambience was spot on. Great addition to our great village and looking forward to returning soon.

We visited here on Saturday evening and will definately be back. The food was excellent, the menu contained some different dishes to the normal run of the mill and they did not dissapoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere and ambience around the place

Despite all the hype and expectations before it's opening, the Purple Ivy does not cut the mustard. Over priced, mediocre after and somewhat arrogant service.

The staff are excellent, the decor is excellent, the ambience is great but the food is very poor. Pre-made sauces from a tin made with no care or love, take-away food that is mild and not authentic served well in a classy restaurant setting.

My partner and I popped into our local Indian restaurant on our way back from a long trip and am I glad we did! I usually find a lot of Indian restaurants very samey and bland however this place was beautiful! The staff were very friendly and smiley and the Rogan Josh was just amazing, I will not go anywhere else now. Keep up the good work guys, thank you.

Recommended by a friend to visit. Very friendly service. Lovely meal. My House Special Biryani was perfect and served inside a lovely egg nest. I asked for the vegetable curry to be Madras hot ... Again perfect :) Washed down with a pint of Cobra :) Will definitely visit again!

We have been coming over to this restaurant since it opened last year. On this occasion i went with 8 other friends. We hadn't booked but were easily accommodated. i would definitely recommend booking especially for weekends.

Lovely food and well priced . Very busy on a Wednesday evening so booking recommended. Drinks came quickly but service was very slow in ordering food and bringing it to table but was worth the wait as all food freshly cooked hot and very good quality.

We ate here last night and being a Saturday it was very busy. (I'm glad that we pre-booked.Great welcome at the door where people were waiting for their take-away meals.They remembered my request for decafe coffee and said they had got it in-hoorah.They told us 21 people celebrating a 21st birthday had just left!!

Villagers were kept waiting and incredibly long time whilst the owners did the conversion work and battled all sorts of stupid parish council restrictions and then finally the Purple Ivy opened and there's now no way we'd go out to eat anywhere else.

Since Purple Ivy opened up in Brixworth it’s become the go to place for an Indian and for good reason too. The service is always spot on from the waiting staff to the owners, Sultana and her husband, who always stop by with a smile to say hello. The vegan options on the menu are delicious; the onion bhajis are a must and the seasonal vegetable curry with onion rice at a madras spice level is always a winner. The food has always been perfect, regardless of whether it’s been a sit in meal or a takeaway.

We’ve had at least six takeaways since the restaurant opened and can’t get a good meal.

Quite excited to try out a new indian, but not at all impressed with the food. The chicken was tough, the flavours were bland and not that appetising, and it was expensive ! I wouldn`t dream of going there again ! - What a "let-down" !

Great curry house! Me and my friends love to try out the local curry restaurants monthly and today was Purple Ivy’s turn!

We decided to try this new restaurant as part of a birthday celebration. This was a great night with family/friends the place is extremely well fitted and nicely decorated. The service was excellent and staff very friendly, they took the right amount of time after taking drinks order allowing us plenty of of time to choose the various courses.

Visited for dinner on a busy Friday evening. Plenty of staff so the service was attentive. Extensive menu so caters for a wide range of spice/heat preferences. Pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price for drinks, beer and wine.

We ate here last weekend and were a little disappointed service-wise.We ordered 2 poppadoms but were served 3.Not a problem except my husband was still trying to get through eating the third poppadom when a waiter advised us that our mains of madras and jalfrezi were ready and could he serve them.Not wanting our main courses to be put to the side and left to go cold we felt we had to say yes but we were not happy as we felt rushed.My husband had to push his side plate, the poppadom and all the chutneys/dips to the side.

Myself and my husband are regulars at Purple Ivy, By far the best Indian restaurant/takeaway in Northamptonshire. We have never had a bad meal, the staff are always very welcoming and pleasant, the food is incredible, so much choice and beautifully cooked. Highly recommend you visit the Purple Ivy! :)

Really enjoyed our visit on Christmas Day, the food and service were both excellent. The staff were very friendly and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our children thoroughly enjoyed their meals too and we were not rushed in the slightest, despite it being Christmas Day. We plan to go to the Purple Ivy on Christmas Day again this year as our experience was first class and really good value too.

I’ve had a few takeaways so this was the first actual meal inside the new restaurant. A friendly welcome went down well and the food and service was very good. The curry was very tasty and we all agreed we need to make the effort and go out more often.

Since this restaurant opened we have been here fairly regularly and have yet to have a bad meal. This was no exception, a group of 12 of us booked for a late evening curry (10pm start) for our Christmas get together and they were accommodating and could not have been more helpful.
