Super restaurant. Sharing platter was brill. Everything was cooked really well and the blue cheese sauce for the garlic mushrooms was amazing!

Found this restaurant by accident last night. Although it was full the owner found us a space and the service was excellent. The sirloin and chicken were superb but the lamb was really special. All the meat was succulent and delicious. Top class food and top class people. We’ll certainly come back next time we’re in Manchester. Highly recommended!

Stumbled onto this lovely restaurant quite by chance. The menu will keep me coming back, as it is has a wide range and the food was amazing. Service was attentive but not overbearing.

We recently dined at this fantastic Mediterranean restaurant, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The homemade lava cake was an absolute highlight, showcasing the chef’s talent with rich, delicious flavors. The service was impeccable, with a friendly and welcoming staff who made us feel as if we were on holiday somewhere in Greece or Spain. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving amazing food and top-notch hospitality!

Shocking. Turn up to find a couple without a booking being taken straight in and a couple behind us being eased into the comfy seats before we were attended to. We were then offered the table right in the entrance area. I refused and the person attending immediately played the 'you are being rude' card. Being rude is making your guests feel like second class citizens at the door, not firmly but politely pointing out the shortcomings of our treatment. We left and had a lovely meal in a vietnamese at half the price with great service. It takes me a good deal of work to earn the money required to pay for these fancy restaurants and I will not tolerate treatment like that. I will not go there again if it's the last restaurant in Manchester.

I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious this restaurant is, we went on a Saturday evening and the atmosphere was great. The service was excellent and the food really fresh and tasty. I especially recommend the Calamari, it was probably the best Calamari I’ve had in Manchester.

Muy buena comida mediterránea en restaurante elegante con excelente servicio. Tuvimos 4 entrantes y 4 platos principales con laterales. Todo excelente. Tenía un cordero a la parrilla y un pincho de pollo a la parrilla que eran excelentes. Un amigo tenía pescado del día, uno tenía chuletas de cordero, el otro las gambas. Sirvió rápidamente y se presentó bien. Todo delicioso.

La primera vez aquí, dos parejas. leer comentarios y estaba deseando que llegara, pero desafortunadamente todo salió mal en la etapa de pedido de comida. El cuñado pidió una hamburguesa pero pidió que no se le añadiera la lechuga, los tomates y los pimientos para que se reuniera con un camarero muy grosero que decía "no hacemos cambios un sábado". Supongo que está ocupado (estaba) pero si la hamburguesa se cocina fresca, entonces el chef está pidiendo artículos y todo lo que se pide es no agregarlos. El camarero fue grosero y simplemente dio la actitud que no le importaba, lo planteamos con una señora en el bar y aunque era más educado todavía no se movió. La comida que todos acordamos estaba bien, pero la experiencia ya lo había estropeado, así que dudo que volveremos aquí de nuevo.

A Basement-Level Experience—Literally and Figuratively Pupa had one chance to impress, and instead, it delivered a masterclass in disappointment. The layout? Deceptive. There’s a small upper level, but we were exiled to the basement, a signal-free dead zone where even my patience struggled to survive. The seating? Hard, uncomfortable, and seemingly designed to make you regret staying too long. The atmosphere? Loud, chaotic, and deeply unpleasant. Not because of music, but because the other diners seemed to be in an unspoken competition to see who could yell the loudest. Management, instead of restoring order, appeared completely unbothered—if not actively encouraging the ruckus. And the food? Chewy, uninspired, and utterly forgettable. The kind of meal that makes you think, I should’ve just stayed home. Would I return? Not even as a last resort. With so many incredible restaurants nearby, there’s simply no reason to waste another evening here.

Can't get over how friendly and welcoming the owners are! I go regularly for food and they can never do enough to make my visit really enjoyable! They have told me all about their vineyard where their Pupa wine comes from. Highly recommend!

Very friendly employees, awesome food. Nice atmosphere. A well presented restaurant with very good food. Worth visiting. Dog friendly as well, which is always appreciated. Small menu with only one halloumiburger as a vegetarian main dish option. Could work more on that. Everything else was great. Definitely recommended.

I really hate to do this, because our meals at Pupa have been really great, but we're locals and I have recently been so let down by the attitude of the owners. We live literally around the corner. We have been here several times: we're probably Pupa's main demographic. We regularly walk past the restaurant down the main road whilst we walk our dog. My husband was walking past the other day with our dog, and one of the staff (potentially an owner?) came out and told us to stop our dog urinating on their front door. What's baffling is that she's never done this. Not once. She wasn't doing it when he spoke to my husband, and hasn't ever as far as we're concerned. She's a dog that lives in the city centre: we have plenty of other spaces for her to relieve herself and wouldn't even ENCOURAGE it, let alone let it happen. My husband said this, and the person again accused him of letting her wee at the door. I repeat, this hasn't ever happened. Safe to say it's really left a bad taste in our mouths. We're locals, probably the prime demographic (we spend money on food near us and enjoy spending time locally).This has seriously made us not want to come back and even though we've recommended this place before, we won't be. Kindness goes a long, long way. Please consider this when speaking to your potential customers, particularly ones who are SO local to you. Please do not jump to conclusions. I understand you may be frustrated, but you can't blame everyone who walks past you. I doubt we'll be coming back in the near future.

Meat platter for 2 was incredible flavour and quality, good value too

The staff went above and beyond to help me throw a surprise engagement meal for my friends. Was very grateful to them for all their help. Topped off with a celebratory congratulations in chocolate for dessert. And the food was gorgeous. Will definitely return!

Cannot believe how good the steak was here and for a fraction of the cost or the big steak houses. Smokey and perfectly charred 1kg tomahawk easily shared between two. Service was super nice and felt like we walked away spending half of what we expected. 100% will go back again.

In Manchester for a gig and popped in for tea. Calamari was great. Steak better. Try their own wine, it was amazing (see picture). Would highly recommended

Huge fans! If you are in Manchester go eat here! Second time for me and my partner and it’s by far my favourite place to eat! The food is so fresh and tasty, and the cocktails are freshly made. Worth every penny. I highly recommend the garlic chicken and homemade cheesecake. It’s a family business and you can tell love is put into everything from the food to the service. Thank you.

We live close by and tried this little gem for the first time today....the steaks were cooked beautifully rare as ordered, which is hard to find these days....so tender and such a rich flavour...the sides were great....then creme brulee like velvet. ..what made the visit perfect was the service we received from all the staff but especially José, very friendly and genuine guy...definitely will be making this a regular spot. Ten out of ten.

Excellent evening spent in this restaurant. Online booking is easy. We ate the Pupa burger as well as the cheese burger. Both are delicious, the meat is generous and well cooked. Everything is topped off with excellent fries. Rioja wine, although unpretentious, is simply delicious and perfect, to be recommended without hesitation. We ate in the upper part of the restaurant. The room is pleasantly furnished, with a view of the lively road. The service is very pleasant and efficient. In particular we really appreciated the service from Daria, at the same time very professional and very friendly. This is still one of the rare restaurants with a very welcoming family atmosphere.

Found this place purely by accident walking the dog a week before. Really friendly staff, even better they are dog friendly. On going into restaurant, only thought that had one floor, we were taken downstairs, which was really nicely laid out. Great food will definitely return.

Busy due to Christmas parties however management did their best to accommodate us as a walk in although in agreement for a shorter time at the table which suited us fine and appreciated the fact this was offered as opposed to being turned away. Fantastic steak - we got on Steak and Wine (Wednesdays or Thursdays - cant remember) which included a glass of wine. I also had the Feta parcels and my partner the Calamari which were both lovely. Otherwise a pretty extensive menu is on offer. Service - great. It is very cosy with tables quite close together however in this environment added to the atmosphere which was a small, quaint and cosy type of vibe. Parking - a bit of a nightmare however where isn't in Manchester? Will definitely return.

Didn't have a reservation, no problem for the two of us, found a table, great service and amazing char grilled meat feast for two, tasty and freshly prepared, friendly and chatty staff especially Gabriel, so rare these days, can't rate this restaurant highly enough for food, service and value, so glad we found it, 5 star rating so we'll deserved!

OMG this place is unreal. Partner booked for my birthday and I’m dying to go back already. Service was great, sometimes restaurants rush us through courses and it’s not nice but we could go at a leisurely pace. Raspberry mulled wine was delicious and the food was the star of the show. Not. One. Single. Complaint. Perfectly seasoned, meat was tender, so tasty. We had the olives and halloumi to start and I had the lamb supreme with Greek salad on the side, my partner had the sirloin and he said it isn’t often he gets a steak cooked to perfection AND seasoned well. Prices very reasonable as well Thank you to the staff at Pupa for making my birthday super special and we can’t wait to come back!

Was not bad. Regardless of it being the holidays, the staff kept things rolling out quickly. Unfortunately we couldn't get dessert however because they were closing up even though the reservation made online had us think we had the table till later. The uploaded picture is just one of the things we ordered. The meat platter for 2, at least with some of it gone lol. That alone cost under £50. For those on a budget, it'd be best to keep in mind the provided menu has no pricing.

A nice Mediterranean restaurant in Manchester's NQ. Food was alright with adequate portions. A bit expensive considering quality/quantity that is well known regarding Mediterranean food. Service and ambiance were great though.

I was traveling in from America and I have struggled for food in Manchester for over a week. This is some of the best food I have had in my life honestly. Especially recommend the lamb or chicken wings.

Having visited this restaurant during the day when we were part of a cheese experience tour, we were delighted to return for a "proper" meal later in the evening. Staff were all very pleasant, and our meal was delicious, as was the rosé wine from Albania which accompanied it 😋 ❤️

This is a fabulous restaurant. We turned up without a booking but we managed to get a table for two. The young lad who took our order, brought us our food and checked everything was ok was lovely, smiley and very professional. Food was absolutely fantastic - my hubbie and I both had the chicken skewers - and I thought it was a great price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back. Its a real gem.

Lovely place to eat, great food and top service.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night at Christmas time. Our son and his girlfriend were joining us and were running late (45 minutes to be exact). At no time were we rushed or pressured by the excellent staff. Instead, we were told, "It was no problem." We ordered the meat plate for 4 and were not disappointed. All the meats were cooked and seasond perfectly, and there was plenty of it, too. We will definitely return.

Amazing place and enjoyed the Steak and Wine deal. Service was top notch with a friendly smile. My recommendation, try their Raspberry Mulled wine when enjoying the Lava Cake. Steak and Wine -> Cake and Wine!!

Really lovely little restaurant. When we arrived there was, apparently a loud, large party downstairs (families, with children playing tag etc round other tables). The staff gave us a choice of tables (we had a reservation) but suggested upstairs for a more relaxed visit. Once we were seated so many people came in who did not have reservations and they gave them the same advice and were ‘happy’ to turn people away rather than them stay and have a negative experience. We felt this was really selfless and quite clearly not just about their takings. The attention from the staff was really polite and the right level of attentiveness. Food was really tasty and, we felt, good value. Would definitely recommend and return

Visited for a birthday meal, staff were friendly and gave great service. Blue cheese mushrooms and garlic pitta starters were really tasty. Was a bit of a wait for the mains (2 ribeye steaks) but when they came they were hot and cooked absolutely perfectly. Chocolate lava cake topped the meal off perfectly. Definitely worth a visit!

Dined here with good friends who we meet up with once a year. Pupa made this year very memorable. Beautiful food, great service and wonderful atmosphere. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

The lamb was by far and away the best lamb I’ve had outside of Greece. Absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly, the atmosphere was nice and chill, and the rest of the food was really good too.

Awful £124 per person simply there are thefts I am not coming back ever in my life food was very poor insufficient really sad no even deserts included the worst experience in Manchester 😔😔😔😔

Me and my wife visited here tonight and we're not disappointed. We had the goats cheese fritters and garlic bread pitta to start and both were fantastic, for mains we shared the meat platter for 2 at £44 2 lamb Chops, chorizo, chickens wings, chicken breast beef and a choice of 2 sides. Absolute meat heaven. We also had the homemade cheesecake with ice cream after reading a review on faceboook describing how good it was and they weren't wrong, stranger I salute you. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Will definitely recommend and come again next time we come to Manchester.

Would definitely recommend. We had the meat sharing platter & it was delicious. Meat was cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced. The service was great and the restaurant was beautiful inside. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the Greek salad, it was just really big chunks of tomatoes. There were tiny crumbs of feta cheese, I mean not even 1 cubes worth, 1 tiny strand of pepper and a couple of slices of cucumber. I would for sure come again! Just wouldn’t order the “Greek salad” 😂

We travelled from Nottingham for a booking made for 7pm, we got there 7.25pm due to parking issues and obscure place restaurent situated. Sadly for us we were turned away saying were late. What else can say but they wasted my time after sayi g have plenty of space. Should have gone Hawksmore as planned.

First time i have ever given a full 5 star review. I have high standards for dood(especcially burgers) but this restauraunt did not dissapoint. Amazing lava cake and drinks. Great restaurant, would definitely recommend.

Definitely go to this place if you want good food! I spent 4 nights in Manchester and was incredibly disappointed with the food overall until my last night when I went here. It’s a little off the busy streets (very good thing) but hidden gem. If you’re a meat eater this is just really great meat, cooked really well and tastes delicious. I also had there dessert and it again showed that everything here is freshly cooked. If I’m back, I’ll be coming back here for sure. Thanks

Honestly blew my expectations out of the water. Nice little setting with a good vibe (not many tables so make a reservation if a weekend). The food really was fantastic and the meat was grilled to perfection. The only question is what I will get next time I come. 6 stars.

Loved this place previously, but this time, within the meat platter, the lamb was not cooked (red inside), and the chicken wings were burnt ( black), so a big part of main meal was not good, they didnt check if it was ok too. Desert chocolate lava was fab. Was told they would take 10% off the bill, when I pointed it out, but they didn't. This experience although it wasn't too busy (16.30,) was disappointing as I raved about it previously

Qué gran hallazgo que solo reservamos en línea una hora antes de la llegada y tuvimos la suerte de conseguir una mesa. El equipamiento era precioso con planta baja y planta baja como el restaurante. El servicio fue excelente y la comida de primera clase. Cuatro de nosotros elegimos diferentes líneas principales y tuvimos los chapuzones para comenzar todo estaba delicioso. Sin duda volvería cuando visitemos Manchester.

Vine aquí con un grupo de colegas de trabajo y su publicidad sugiere que es un bar de tapas, yo sugeriría que es un mediterráneo oriental (como nos enteramos) bar de carne albanesa. Soy un fan del estilo mediterráneo oriental de la comida y este lugar dio en el blanco en todos los platos. Está en el edificio del ya desaparecido restaurante Solata, y ha sido muy bien, pero simplemente renovado. Como fiesta de 20 , no esperaba una gran experiencia, pero salvo un par de esperas entre platos la comida seguía llegando y todo estaba muy bueno, siendo la estrella del espectáculo los 8 Tomahawks que se cocinaron a la perfección. También disfrutamos de un buen vino tinto de la viña familiar, que era grande y redondo y con mucho cuerpo con mucha fruta. ¿Volveré - ciertamente y con muchas ganas.
