Great service in the kiosk at the station and always with a smile! On a windy Monday when my brain clearly wasn’t functioning yet and I left my tea behind, the lovely lady (Steph) ran out and gave my tea to one of the train staff so I wouldn’t miss out on my morning cuppa. That is going above and beyond in customer service! Thank you very much! Have a great day! 🥰

Without a doubt the worst coffee I've ever purchased from anywhere, I was burnt before but thought maybe that was a one off... Decided to try again and still the single most watered down tasteless coffee. The other coffee place is about 70-90p cheaper and taste so much better. Avoid this place !!!!!!!

If you want a drinkable coffee go to platform 3 to Costa Pumpkin cafe possibly the worst tasting coffee I've had the misfortune to taste!!

London prices. Ended up being overcharged £1.48 as couldn’t have the breakfast deal as I ordered a regular coffee rather than small. Difference in small and regular was £0.10 - but charged £1.48 for 10p! Rude staff. Go hungry or thirsty next time!! I’ll stick to Greggs .... let’s hope Greggs come to Colchester station as they are at Ipswich.

I had a bad experience this morning when I tried to use a coffee card which I had saved the stamps on and claim my free coffee. The women made me feel really uncomfortable using it, told me I couldn’t use it because it’s as the old style card, even though I had saved all the stamp.. I just hadn’t been to this coffee shop for a while. She kept frowning at me and the whole situation made me feel like I was doing something wrong, quite upsetting. With a lot of sighing she gave me the coffee but I won’t be going back.

Each time I stop for a snack here the food has been hot and tasty. Staff are friendly. What more do you need.

Welcome drink and snacks on a Sunday morning waiting for a train, this was the only refreshment place open at the station. The coffees were ok, service quite quick, and muffins a little on the dry side but still very eatable.

Spent pretty much all day in the cafe while working on the station during day of extreme cold. Just wanted to say thanks to good natured staff for making us feel welcome despite our making the place look untidy!

I heard the prices were beyond reasonable and I had swerved this brand for 2 years but my tea craving got me and I had to have a brew into work in london. Places like these thrive on repeat custom rather than impulse purchases - £2.10 for a cup of tea! I assumed this was butler served but no a PG tips bags - not even a funky linen style t bag you get in town ! So...... a cost of about 12p in consumables incl the bean plus the staff labour of around 16p per minute based on £10 hr if he's lucky (and mine to write this) gives a gross profit around 600% based on net sell price of £1.75- Coffee not much different. Come on pumpkin - help us regular commuters to feel okay about spending money on tea , bring it down to perhaps £1.40 ? You will get more of us.

Visited for the first time on Wednesday 7th June at around 3:15pm and from working in a high standard cafe I know most of what is expected regarding customer care etc. However the man serving us clearly didn't. We chose our food and a snack for the train journey and could see him picking up drinks and putting them on the side so he'd surely be able to hear us talking and maybe actually ask if we needed anything. Instead he ignored us for five mins, came to the till, no " hello how are you today" or " sorry for the wait", and just said that'll be (for example) £5.50. Without even asking us if we would like anything else so I mentioned that I would like a coffee. (The main reason I entered the cafe) In my place of work one basic rule is up-selling and apart from "hello, how are you" the first question is " can we get you any coffee, tea or hot chocolate. So you'd surely of thought he would ask if we would like something as simple as a coffee (keeping in mind this is colchester train station). After grudgingly making a coffee from left over milk from the last customer (there was no one there before we walked in so who knows how long that was sitting there for) he grunted the amount and moved on to the next customer. All this and he never once made eye contact with a single customer. Also on the way in we noticed a help wanted sign on the door. Should probably be changed to " Help needed SOS". This man needs to be taught basic customer care and manners. 1. Make eye contact and smile 2. Say " Hello, how are you today ?" 3. Offer a hot drink. I.e. Coffee. 4. Up-sell items such as muffins 5. Say " Can I get anything else for you today?" If yes then do that next. 6. Explain where the sugar etc is. I had no idea. Turns out it's on the other side of the room. 7. If that'sall then politely say the amount and let them pay. If I could score it lower I would. My suggestion to customers - there's a smaller, Grab 'n' Go, version of this cafe half way up near platform 3. Go there instead. They actually smile.

A good spot to watch TV in the warm on a comfy seat while waiting for your delayed train. Prices are high but it is worth taking your hot drink from Pumpkin onto the train rather than paying the even steeper on board price for the same item.

Asked for a Latte and hot chocolate he didn't even steam the milk. Milk was also a left over from the last customer.

Having worked in the hospitality and catering industry before, my opinion may be slightly bias because standards have to be set high in my eyes but this place was disgusting! Flies were everywhere, I counted a good 12-15 with staff not bothered by them and no sign of any pest control equipment. As well as that the equipment used to cook the toasties was dirty and the seating are was messy. Customer service was decent at least but the food prices were poor with my breakfast bap costing £3.99. Will only be visiting again in emergencies.

Located within Colchester's main railway station (COL) previously known as North Station. Rather than wait on the eternally cold and windy platforms why not sit in a comfy chair, watch the news and check the departure boards whilst sipping a great coffee? The prices are about the same as all other railway chains and you can get 20% off of your bill if you have a 'Bite' card - which are free but you must get one before you travel. The coffee is great, the cakes are large and tasty and the hot savoury croissants are just perfect for a wintry day.

Wide ranging menu, but not cheap. They serve a range of cakes- chocolate brownies are sumptuous- and drinks. Luxury hot chocolate is very good. Chocolate coolers are inconsistent though. They do hot food too (ie warmed up slices or paninis) but these are microwaved and don't taste great.

We stayed over in Doris our motorhome and what a fabulous reception we got. Staff extremely friendly and food was superb. The choice on the menu was good and portions are huge 👌

Classic waterside pub, local drinkers and simple menu. However the scampi & chips is a worthy 5/5

I always do click and collect here in the mornings when I’m working in Maldon, usually 2 or 3 days a week. The ladies are always so friendly (even though I sometimes have a big order from all my colleagues!) and nothing is too much trouble.

Fast becoming our favourite pub in mid-Suffolk! The food and ale selection are outstanding, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is always brilliant. Love the special events they put on - the monthly pub quiz is a particular highlight and we loved pie night! Very affordable for the quality you get.
