Pump On The Green in Pembrokeshire

WOW....What a wonderful place. Fantastic meals! We were staying nearby with family and meeting up with local family, so got to go here three times. Sunday lunch was brilliant, my husband and I are both vegetarians, so the mushroom wellington with roast veggies was really great value. We also had the mushroom wrap which I enjoyed so much one lunch time that I had it again a few evenings later. ALL the staff were lovely and helpful, even gave us a takeaway veg for the Sunday vegetables that were left, so had bubble and squeak the next night at the rental cottage! The only thing I would say is they either need larger plates or smaller portions!! LOL

As per usual pump on the green has hit the spot. There food is just delicious and very well done. There service to the customers is very good. Mark who owns The pump on the Green, is a chef of platinum stars. His staff are friendly and welcoming. Very helpful. The orange bread and butter pudding is a favourite of ours. Shame he won't make the baileys bread and butter pudding, as that was a treat and a half, perfect.

Be hungry or the portions will defeat you. Excellent quality and value served by efficient and friendly staff members. Top marks all round.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and comfortable The menu is varied and well cooked and presented. We will visit again soon.

I didn’t fancy cooking tonight, so the Bald said let’s try here for dinner. It didn’t disappoint, it is a decent size public house with a bar area to the front and bespoke dining area at the back. Given the fact we are almost half the way through the year, it might be nice to think it would be warm enough to eat outside when the Sun shines but not today! We did have to move tables because it was too hot where we were sat, as they had the heating on! But it was too cold to sit outside comfortably. I’m sure on a sunny day when the temperature cooperates it would be really nice to sit outside. Anyway, onto to the food. The Bald had one of the specials, lamb steaks. They did not disappoint. It was almost a bit of a wow factor when it arrived at the table. I snook a taste and the lamb was tasty and well cooked. It came with humongous onion rings, a small salad which was plenty-full in variety with an extra bowl for the chips. The Bald so enjoyed his meal. I had the battered cod, served with Pembrokeshire new (in their skins!) potatoes; accompanied by garden peas and the same side salad as the Bald. The only thing missing, if I am being picky was it wasn’t served with any tartar sauce. I did ask for some mayonnaise which was immediately brought to the table. We were greeted when we arrived, shown straight to a table and moved when we requested a different table. The server was attentive and you couldn’t really ask for anything more. The bill came to under £40 and you certainly had value for money. We left around 6:30 and I think the evening was just about to get busy Really nice place to eat. There were couples, older people and young families, which lent itself to the ambience very well.

Went for Xmas lunch, a group of 15, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Excellent meal, traditional Xmas meal with all the trimmings, beautifully served, by lovely waiters and waitresses. I recommend this beautiful pub /restaurant. If I lived nearer I would be back again very soon.

Badly poured pints, creepy staff, unhovered carpet-- I hated coming here if we're being honest. My night was spoiled after one member of staff approached me wearing a devious hat and vaping in my face. I won't be retuning, this place won't be seeing Sammy again.

Such a friendly welcome. Delicious food with quick service and dog friendly. The chips bacon and cheese smothered with bbq sauce was delicious. What more do you want.

Nice little country style pub in a little village setting. Friendly waitress. Lovely food with lots of choice from burgers, fish, to favourites such as lasagne, steak and curries. Also have light bite and child portions. Local beer options as well as normal options to include draft and bottle beers/cider as well as wine and spirits. A little more pricey but good portions for your money.

I visited whilst touring West Wales and this place stands out. The starters and mains that I had on the two visits I made, were excellent. On the first visit I had the rack of ribs which was very enjoyable and filling. On my second visit I had the Lasagne, which was superb. Both plentiful meals, after days spent walking the coast paths. I left replete and shall return!

The best lasagne, Chucky chips, peas and salad we have ever had! Definitely would recommend this and would love to go back and try other food they offer on there very good menu! The waitress was very friendly and helpful! Great place!

Lovely village pub in quiet surroundings with a varied menu catering for all tastes. Locally sourced food and so nice to taste food that has been thoughtfully prepared. They also provide a Senior Citizens menu which is very good value. Just a real shame our village doesn't have a pub, let alone one like this!

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch here . The menu was great, plenty of choice of starters , mains & desserts . We all had 3 courses , all different and all thoroughly enjoyed what we chose . Chloe, Mark, Ali and team are always so accommodating. The service is friendly, professional and efficient. We had a beautiful Sunday Dinner. Our 8 & 12 year old cleared their plates without hesitation. The meat was cooked to perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed the veg Wellington, always so so delicious. There was plenty of veg - which you don’t get everywhere and more importantly lashings of lovely gravy. If you want a delicious, stress free Sunday Dinner suitable for the whole family then Pump On The Green is most definitely the place to go!

Went for a meal on recommend with my elderly parents and brother and sister in law. A cold February midweek night certainly didn’t disappoint. Open log fire and very friendly staff and locals. 3 Sirloin Steaks, Texmex Chicken and Fish and Chips. All were fabulous. From first entering the Pump on the Green we had such a warm welcome from staff, owners and locals. (We were staying in a nearby AirBnB). First night we had a wonderful meal, very tasty, home cooked meal. Very reasonably priced food and a very good food choices. Bar prices very reasonably too. Owners, Mark and Ali introduced themselves, Mark was the main chef. They chatted to us, invited us to the Christmas festivities that were going on in the pub, Jane such a lovely lady (barmaid) a credit to the pub! All the locals chatted to us and involved us and made us feel so welcome. Thank you so much for making our stay in Spittal for Christmas such fun! Friday night was steak night.... fabulous! Got to be one one of the friendliest, glorious and charming pubs we have ever visited. What a fantastic place, with great staff and amazing food. Within minutes of entering this place we were made to feel so welcome by the staff and the locals at the bar. This place is a real hidden gem. We were staying in the village and visited the pump on different days and evenings, this place had such a great community spirit. The food was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection, with plenty to choose from on the menu and a great selection of specials. A good range of drinks and great service. All the staff took time to meet and greet us and so did the locals. This pub could show the big chains how customer service should be. Well done to Mark and Alison and your team, you made our break that extra bit special. Good luck in the future.
