Dial Inn Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

Had to write a review about this pub/restaurant. What a lovely friendly place. The staff were so cheerful and extremely efficient at all times. The food was excellent, the nicest meal we’ve had from this type of place for a very long time, and at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

Went for valentines and the meal was stunning! Had the rump of Welsh lamb with seasonal green veg and Dauphinoise potatoes, followed by the apple berry crumble, beautifully cooked, everything complimented each other, perfect setting, perfectly cooked meal! Highly recommend!!

Nice pub / restaurant. Only popped in for a couple of Guinness with the Mrs and dog but friendly service and a food pint. It was busy (valentines night) but still got served promptly. Hopefully will return!

Hello, can only comment on food/service which were excellent. Have eaten here twice in last 3 weeks with family in the evening. Sea bass/prawns dish seems to be a big favorite amongst our family. Fresh, great size portion and very tasty. Would score overall 4.5 stars. Thank you and see you soon 😀😋

Recently refurbished and under new management. Set in a lovely village close to Lamphey Palace and Pembroke.

Came here for dinner. The venue, menu and staff were great. We we're greeted with a very warm welcome. The menu offered a great choice and it was great value fie money. The portions were very generous. Lovely decor too.

Lovely food and staff, great pub with great food. Good family night out that won't break the bank. Fabulous.

Absolutely gorgeous roast dinner. Cooked to perfection with an extra jug of gravy. Veg was really tasty, especially the honey parsnips and cheesy leeks. Staff were very responsive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

This is a lovely place to stay we had one night here and we were very well looked after the kitchen staff came in early for us as we had a tight schedule to keep which was appreciated. The food both in the evening and breakfast was excellent would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful pub, restaurant and b&b! Under new ownership the friendly service at the popular bar, excellent restaurant food and comfortable rooms are leaving customers and guests raving about the place and booking there next visit. It is so good to see this improvement and community pub flourishing and the positive atmosphere.

On a Monday, the service was good but but halloween night was a bad chocie! Somersby cider at£4.70. A small pinot was £5.75. There is a back room for dog owners. We shared croquettes, but at £7, I would've left it out and tried for marmalade bread & butter pudding! The sea bass was outstanding and so was the Welsh lamb. The pork chop required a steak knife! We'll go on another quiet night next year!

We went for a Sunday roast and have been here on and off for many years without problems. However this time there were a few issues and we have tried to address it directly with the Dial Inn but they have ignored all correspondence so maybe they will respond here. The menu said one price but when the bill came it was higher. We had 5 roasts (1 veggie) and all of them the roast potatoes were rock hard and when we pointed it out the server just said that’s how it is. (We couldn’t barely cut through with steak knives!) but this was not the real problem, the real problem was later that evening we suffered food poisoning of the worst kind, stomach cramps and the rest. Anyway we have tried to point this out to the Dial Inn as I am sure if we all had it then many others did as well and hit a wall of silence from the Dial Inn which is a disappointment. Anyway we won’t be dashing down there in a hurry again. Very expensive roasts with boulders as potatoes and 24-36 hours of pain. No thanks!

Nice local pub with over priced menu

An old building and a crooked, collapsing floor in the room. Steep stairs to the rooms, so if you have a heavy suitcase it's a problem. Unfortunately, two separate taps above the sink. I can't imagine washing my face in the sink. No shampoo. But the kitchen is wonderful.

We've not eaten here yet but lovely clean place, always nice welcome and really great selection of drinks.. Will be back shortly to try the really nice looking menu

Too many large dogs, nearly tripped over one getting to bar. Although the food was tasty I thought the service was slow and very pricey for what you get (£20 main course only)

Lovely clean hotel . Staff very friendly . Food delicious and lots of it especially the full Welsh breakfast !!! Would highly recommend

Just had tea here and food was lovely. Husband had the special of steak tacos and really enjoyed it and I had fish and chips, which was so nice and really liked the tartar sauce. Very generous servings and good service.

Only went in for a drink on a week night atmosphere was excellent friendly and welcoming. Food looked lovely, beer was.

We went here for dinner to celebrate a family birthday. We were on holiday in Wales and needed somewhere that could accommodate our dog. We had steaks, and the food was exquisite! Steaks cooked to perfection, well presented and lovely sides. The dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was also fabulous. Parking was ok as it had its own car park which is pretty limited but plenty of parking on the streets around as well. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to make our experience pleasant and memorable, including making the dessert for the birthday girl a little bit more special. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. I would recommend the Dial Inn to others and would definitely go again if I holiday in that part of Wales again.

Booked on the day. The room had all we needed for the night. Comfy bed, pillows were a bit flatter than I like but managed by propping a cushion underneath. Coffee machine didn't appear to work when I put the pod in. Shower was OK. View from front of building wasn't great. We made the best of it. We WERE impressed with the food there. It's what this little pub has going for it. Lucky locals, I say. The Chef is a chef boy, not a cook, so to speak. We loved our evening meals, and the breakfasts were delicious. Added a few pics. During the stay we walked over to freshwater East. It's a good 2 miles one way. Not a lot to do on foot, unfortunately. Parking free plus an entrance out of hours to access. I'd probably stay elsewhere next time, but definitely go back for the great food. 👍

Excellent food very well cooked. Lots of nice choices. The real bonus was the friendly staff who looked after us very well despite the restaurant and the bar being extremely busy.

dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids. Service ok but didnt have a clue what drinks available from bar. Food ok but overpriced for what you get. Kids meals not great.

Lovely little pub with a dedicated area for dining with dogs. Food was really good, with a great selection on the menu. Not a lot for vegetarians but otherwise very good.

A fantastic little gem. Set in the middle of the village, easy access and some parking available. A busy, thriving little pub and restaurant ( with rooms) Service was friendly,polite and speedy. And the food was AMAZING! It was that good, that we were in Lamphey for 6 nights... 1 evening all my family celebrated my birthday at the Dial Inn and another night my husband and I returned by ourselves.... Couldn't fault the food or friendly service.

Sunday street food for family of 12 was lovely. Staff so nice and food amazing. Thought was a bbq initially when came but would say more street food style. Kids and adults all lived the food. Loads of space and kids & pets welcome. Would recommend. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

We came here for dinner twice whilst holidaying at Portclew coach house nearby. The service and food was very good both evenings. Definitely not the usual pub grub, but fresh food with delicious sauces and a la dente vegetables. There were 7 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. The pan roasted salmon in hollandaise sauce was delicious, with sugar snap peas and tendrils of pea shoots. Highly recommended by all of us.

Best stake and cake I've ever had

We loved The Dial Inn. The bar got a bit loud at times but everybody was so friendly that the noise didn't matter too much. We will be staying again when we visit friends nearby

Had a meal here and it was really really good, varied menu and the food was well presented, full of flavour and good portions

We only stayed in the restaurant for a fabulous dinner. The sea bream and especially the pulled lamb in an oriental style with cumin flavour were really convincing. An absolute recommendation in this area!

Great food, friendly service & reasonable prices. Plenty of parking available at the village hall, if the pub car park is full.

I think this is my second review of the dial but I simply had to write another one! We live locally in Manorbier Newton and arrived for a table of 15 on Friday night. First of all how lovely is it to see a packed country pub full of locals laughing and enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was fantastic and arrived promptly considering the party size. Sam and Kelly looked after us so well and the chefs really did a great job. This is not pub food and I think it won't be long before people recognise the dial for local awards. Local people are starting to talk about this place. THANK YOU FOR GIVING US A GREAT LOCAL 😊

We booked last minute for dinner whilst on holiday, the food and service did not disappoint. Absolutely outstanding meals would highly recommend for anyone looking for pub food but extremely well cooked, presented & priced. Well done 👏🏽

What can I say, me and my wife stayed here last night for early valentines, we were both greeted by the owner Sam, amazing host, rooms very clean and fresh and spotless. All the staff couldn't do enough for us, we has special treatment served drink to our table, never waited forna drink, food what can I say it should be a Michelle star, a must try is the 10oz pork rib eye, and the smash 🍔 Yummy.... it was very busy and it should be a 5star as that was the way they treated us like royalty. Morning after an amazing sleep, and hang over was cured by the breakfast. Top quality ingredients locally produced fine dinning. See u in the summer guys for the garden party xxxx

Amazing place! My partner took me here for a night away for my birthday and everything about it was amazing! The food is outstanding!! Not like “ normal “ pub grub ! the room was spotless with a comfy bed , every member of staff was very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was to much trouble! Will definitely be back ! 🙌🏻☺️

Haven’t been to this place for decades. However pleasantly surprised. Nicely done out with a friendly welcome. We had a three course lunch/dinner. Nice amount of tasty food. Will definitely recommend and go again.

Enjoyed an evening out with friends. The 5* I’ve given this review is sooo worth it. I had braised beef cheeks with creamed potatoes, samphire and greens. It’s the best I’ve ever tasted. The beef melted in my mouth. It was seasoned to perfection. They also serve a large selection of Welsh gins also Barti rum ( the best) The service was excellent and very friendly. I will definitely be returning

An unplanned stop at this friendly village pub. We had a delicious meal with friendly and efficient service. The pork steak were tender and tasty, the chicken succulent and delicious with the mushroom sauce. The treacle and ginger pudding went down a treat and the bread and butter pudding was fabulous. As food was served from 5pm we had the opportunity to break our journey to eat and yet still be home to settle in for the evening.

The food was very tasty and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Recommended and would love to go back!

Went here for my sons 18th birthday meal there was 15 of us in our party food arrived swiftly and was very good value for money, look forward to returning again

We didn't stay, but we ate as a family in the bar area. Excellent choices on the specials board and on the menu. A bit more upmarket than the usual pub grub and very tasty indeed. Useful off road parking and a lovely, large pub garden and outdoors bar for sunny evenings.

Great pub which I wasn't expecting. On arrival the service was friendly and the atmosphere was good. Seemed to be a good mix of drinkers and diners. Lots of locals all recommended we ate here rather than where we had originally picked. The welsh lamb rump was fantastic (not pub food) and the Peppered pork was outstanding and was huge in size. The real ale from mantle brewery was just lovely (moho I think) We have booked to come back next month and can't wait.

Popped in for an evening meal and I will say this was the best mixed grill I have ever had, food was amazing and the staff friendly friendly would highly recommend

Perfect pub in the village. Amazing food, lots of covers. Had the rugby on and central to the village which is perfect for us. Will try and book in here for accom but seems very popular and thus hard to secure.

As soon as we walked in we had the warmest welcome. This place has a lovely atmosphere with extremely friendly and helpful Staff. We had a variety of food and every single dish was outstanding. I personally had the pork steaks in peppercorn sauce......oh my! So tender and hardly any fat. Our waitress, Louise, bent over backwards for us and she did it all with a huge smile on her face. For a small country pub this place is absolutely fabulous. Can't wait to go again!

Lovely meal at the Dial Inn. Felt very welcome from entering the door and staff very attentive to our needs. Lovely room and great ambience Great food, good value for money and large portions !! Always concerned when eating out as my daughter has a nut allergy but again this was not a problem !! Our waitress Louise was amazing and even made me a vanilla latte - not on the menu but she was happy to go that extra mile !! She is a credit to this establishment. Great staff made the experience for us so thank you The Dial and we will be back !!

Probably shooting myself in the foot by giving this lovely pub yet another good review. We'll never be able to get in again! Doesn't look much from the outside but it's a bit of a tardis. Complete transformation inside! Very good food well cooked and perfectly seasoned. I can recommend the lamb rump and my husband was more than happy with the pork steaks. He also said his panna cotta was one of the best he'd ever had and I was won over when I spotted affogato on the menu! Just a word of warning. The portions are generous so you'll need to have done a long stretch of the coast path before you visit!

Myself and my two children stayed in well facilitated and decorated ensuite, where the beds were so comfy! The breakfast Inc was a real Welsh breakfast treat and the evening meals were exceptional, recommending the lamb and risotto rice. The staff really made the experience great, hard working, generous and a real family orientated place to stay. I definitely recommend this place, 10/10. Thank you!

Delicious meal - you’re best off booking to secure a table during peak season for an evening meal. Fantastic mains, and great value for money exceptionally flavoured food. French smoked pork and the Welsh rump were amazing and I’d highly recommend them. Nice selection of Welsh gin as well which went down well after the meal

We had the mushroom Ragu. Not recommended. Mushroom mush, with a few greens thrown in. The other choice for vegetarians was the fried cauliflower with some chilli finish. I was rather disappointed with the food. I would not choose to eat here again. With a pint of cider and a gin and flavoured tonic the cost was £42. The staff were friendly, the service reasonable. Booking is recommended, though kindly we were fitted in.

Was staying in a nearby b&b and the owner recommended The Dial Inn. So glad she did. Lovely clean restaurant with great customer service. Both my girlfriend and I had fish and chips which was delicious. Great batter on the fish, triple cooked chips and delicious homemade tartare sauce. The food and setting were so good that whilst we were dining we booked for the following evening. We both had garlic King prawns to start which were so tasty and a more than generous portion. My girlfriend had a lamb dish for main and I had 2 pork steaks in peppercorn sauce both of which were excellent. We shared the lemon tart for dessert. First class food and service we will definitely be back

We booked a table for 6pm Tuesday & they were ready for us. Our party of 4 chose: chicken & chorizo pasta, pork steaks with peppercorn sauce & 2 of us had Welsh lamb with mushroom risotto. All 3 different meals were superb. The quality & service was great. We were so impressed we’ve booked again for Friday.

Called in without booking, early evening, only a few locals at the bar. We had pork steaks (yes, you get 2) and fish & chips, both were very generous portions and very tasty. My dessert however was disappointing. It was described as lemon tart with meringue and a fruit coulis. I got the tart, the coulis and some fruit but not the expected meringue (I was picturing soft peaks), I was told that it has dissolved into the tart and I wasn’t the first person to ask. It looked suspiciously like icing sugar to me. Surely, if customers query the description then something is not right. Put a bit of a downer on an otherwise excellent meal

After searching online for somewhere to have sunday lunch and having no luck we decided to go for a drive and came across this restaurant. My husband went in to ask was a table available, which it was. What can i say, beautiful food and wonderfully helpful friendly staff. Thank you very much

Fantastic family run B&B in an ideal location. Rooms clean tidy and well appointed and very quiet (even before closing). Small restaurant had a good menu which extended to a nice breakfast menu too. Would recommend

Had booked a table for 7pm for a party of 6, when we arrived we told them that we was waiting for 2 to arrive and was told that our table was not ready which was fine. They arrived at 4 minutes past 7 not...

Delicious food and family friendly pub restaurant. The lamb dish I had was sensational - the flavour of the lamb was as good as I've ever had, chargrilled and accompanied by mushroom and parmesan risotto with lamb jus. Others had equally great dishes, mixed grill,...

First time visit for Sunday lunch. A great meal, plenty of lovely vegetables and good quality meat. The lemon tart to follow was fresh and the fruit and coulis with it was great. All served by pleasant staff. A good experience.

We ate here for three nights whilst staying at a local B & B. The food was so good we didn’t bother going anywhere else. Amongst the dishes we had was a superb home-made chicken and vegetable pie made with shortcrust pastry, a lovely curry...
