Great food, service and atmosphere enjoyed our Easter Sunday dinner.

The food really is all home made. And it all tastes fantastic. Possibly the best care I have ever had being Gluten Free - can’t recommend this place highly enough if you’re GF or DF etc Plenty of parking. Advisable to book though - definitely go !

Absolutely amazing went to pub quiz on Xmas eve as staying up there in valley view cottages Xmas new year also went to there pizza night which been to before amazing pizzas drink prices so reasonable but overall very nice and friendly staff and great pub in all would definitely recommend

Good selection of real ale including the very local mantle ale, lovely pub food, fantastic Sunday roasts and pizza nights on some Thursdays, locally sourced ingredients. Pool table, Darts and a juke box. Proper pub

Myself and 3 friends were staying just up the road from here, so decided to eat at “the local” food was very basic, resembled “school dinners”had an extremely long wait so very disappointed when the food finally arrived! Would not recommend ☹️ need to hire a new chef!

Really friendly place, with good well kept beer. Not tried the food but looked good with meat from local farms. Beautiful old building with stone flagstone floors, really accommodating for kids, friendly locals

Excellent food & service and a good choice of ales

Lovely outdoor beer Garden and great service, only giving 4 stars rather than 5 since there were no light meals only roast dinner style meals, which I’m sure are lovely since many people were queuing for them. Light food like sandwiches ect are not available but they have pipers crisps (very nice) and nuts as well as a variety of soft/non alcoholic drinks. Their bar looks well stocked also.

This place is so friendly, staff and locals. Great atmosphere. Food is delicious, we’ve tried the homemade lasagne, huge portion tasted amazing and the Sunday lunch, everything cooked to perfection. Nice log fires going. Dogs welcome too. Quiz night on a Sunday eve and live band once a month. Have a pool table which comes in handy. Great find, can’t wait to come back.

We visited New Years Day as recommended by the owners of the cottage we were staying. Just down the road a great local pub. We were made to feel very welcome, and could have also taken in our dogs. The carvery was delicious, all home cooked and fresh! Will definitely be back!

The lovely and beautiful Hededd (so sorry if I've spelt your name wrong) runs a great kitchen and keeps her beer in perfect condition. What more could you ask?

Group of seven and our dog went for a meal here on a horrible wet miserable evening and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Dogs are allowed in the upper bar and are made just as welcome. Nice selection of beers, wine and ciders, really friendly bar staff and good home made pub food. OK, the menu is not huge and it ain't fine dining, but it's good and honest, fresh and local produce. Puds are good too! Not expensive either. Would thoroughly recommend it if you're in the area.

This was hands down the best carvery I’ve ever had. Home cooked food full of flavour and love. The local beef was tender and perfectly cooked, the Turkey was succulent and flavourful. The veg had the Just cooked crunch and colour. GF, DF and vegan options available. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was up there with the best I’ve sampled. The staff were super friendly and took the time to talk with us. A lovely dog friendly pub with amazing food and welcoming atmosphere.

Has a great Sunday Lunch ..Beef with wide selection of vegetables ..staff friendly & helpful ...however narrow selection of real ales..was tempted to order "homemade" desert from unpriced menu so selected "Warm Chocolate pudding" with ice cream ..very disappointed to receive miniscule microwaved supermarket chocolate pudding without chocolate sauce & 1 spoonful of ice cream ..for £6.75 ... unfortunately took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable experience

The best roast eaten out I have had for years. Gravy very tasty and everything cooked perfectly. A clean and friendly pub good for drinks. Fully recommend

Fantastic sunday lunch ,beef to die for and they cater for gluten free for my son ,7 of us ,magic time with family .And the sticky toffee pudding went straight to my insides ,nothing to moan about .

Decided to get a Take Away & The Sunday lunch did not disappoint! Yummy treat, loads of meat, plenty of vegetable choice, tasty home cooked food! I highly recommend the Roast Beef & Roadt Pork!!!

Fantastic food and friendly, cozy atmosphere. Went there for Sunday lunch at short notice and even though they were understaffed and rushed of their feet, made us and our puppy feel right at home. Food was absolutely delicious and a great selection of drinks. Even the vegetarian option was great. Definitely go again.

Fantastic host, food and atmosphere. Band were great, but could do with a drummer!

Went with my family, pizza night - ordered 5 pizzas which took an hour to arrive and we where the only people in the pub. When thay arrived an hour later 3 arrived at the table the other two were wrong order. By the time the young man had be back and to to the kitchen and than a lady came out, she did offer to remake but by this time the three that came out had been eaten we had already waited an hour and she wanted us to waite again. When you go out for a meal you would like to eat together not in sittings. Wouldn't recomend - wouldn't go back. Runioned a night of our holiday

Really impressed. The food was clearly locally sourced and cooked fresh, as it says on their website. The staff and the locals were really welcoming of our two young kids - one of whom was in the mood for trouble. The beer was decent too. It's all really good value. Would definitely recommend. They only had one high chair available and that was in use when we were there. A couple more would help through the summer holiday season, I'm sure.

Good staff, good beer, good grub.

The pub was very quiet with only 3 or 4 tables full, we were turned away for food as there was 'no room'. We then asked if we could eat in the bar area or outside to which the young bar man replied 'yes you can, but you can't have food'. We found this very odd as the pub was quiet and it was only 7.15pm. The young bar man was also a little rude. Unfortunately neither of us will be returning.

6 adults plus Bella our dog had food on Saturday evening. They were very friendly and helpful with Bella. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We had 3 lasagnes, 2 vegetarian lasagnes and one fish and chips. The chips were just great. The portions were plentiful which meant we only had 2 deserts.

We've had the Sunday dinner here which was beautiful and also an evening meal during the week which was equally as tasty. You pre-order your meals here if possible which I've never experienced before but worked well. We also walked from our accomodation which was 45mins away a few evenings for a couple of drinks and we had a warm welcome everytime we arrived. Doing well with covid-19 restrictions too with hand sanitiser and one way systems in place. Lovely little place to call for a drink as well as food! 👍

.... good, despite the naff Covid restrictions & naff weather. We'd planned / booked an eat in meal. Well, the outside eating area wasn't suitable given the weather so we converted it to 'Take Away. We were surprised how hot it all was after a 20 minute drive. The curry was excellent, as was the proper steak pie - no casserole with a hat on that gets passed off as a a pie in many places!!! (Please, if that's what you're offered, refuse it - it's NOT a pie!!!) V pleasant / helpful / understanding staff. Well done, under the circumstances. Oh, and the locals were pleasant too, didn;t all switch to speaking Welsh. Ps........ Couldn't believe how low the bill was!!!

We visited this pub/restaurant a few times in the summer for Sunday dinner and it didn’t once disappoint!! It was just like a home cooked (except all the clearing away afterwards)! Reasonably priced and delicious food! I have coeliac disease so I am always a bit nervous going to to eat but nothing was too much trouble for the owner. I even had my own gluten free stuffing, yorkshire pudding and gravy! The gravy and cauliflower cheese was gluten free too! (I did tell them in advance in the booking, so I would suggest this to anyone with an allergy to do too). Lots of yummy gluten free puddings too!! Such a lovely find. We will definitely be returning!

Called on the off-chance they could fit two in and indeed they did, great welcome and what a wonderful place! Staff were very helpful and the owner Miss Hedydd Phillips was so nice having told us she had been cooking since 7am! The food was superb, freshly cooked and local produce all made the flavours wonderful. If you want genuinely home cooked freshly prepared food you must pop in to visit Hedydd!

We checked their website which said "Food served Wednesday – Saturday 6pm – 8.30pm" Sadly despite turning up at about 18:30 on a Thursday we were told they don't do food on a Thursday. Therefore 'average scores' given as we were unable to sample the service or food. However they did tell us about the Nag's Head Inn, Abercych, which was an absolute delight with several vegetarian options too.

A very lovely traditional Welsh village pub with a warm and comfortable feel 😀 The bar is well stocked, with a great selection of beers, wines and spirits. The pub also serves a fabulous variety of food and is a favourite of local people: a sure indicator of a pleasant and well managed public house. Had a lovely Sunday lunch for Mothers Day after a walk around the waterfall. Beef & Pork were cooked nicely & lots of veg to choose from. Service was great too. Would definitely recommend.

Have lived in and around Cardigan my entire life yet someone had never visited this little gem. Had a few beers (the draught bitter is tasty!) on Saturday with a friend and came back Sunday for the carvery with the family and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you.

My first visit last night to join friends for Xmas dinner. Lovely home cooked food and veggies catered for no problem with thoughtful attention to detail. Friendly staff and great relaxed atmosphere.Immaculately clean. I believe other diets catered for. Recommended.

Sunday carvery is certainly worth a visit followed by delicious home puddings. There are normally two meats on the carvery always beef as one option and usually Welsh black beef, a god range of vegetables and nicely cooked no as some places serve the veg sadly overdone. The is also usually twice guest beers on offer and if you're not a beer drinker there is a very reasonable wine list. Booking recommended as the place is popular in this friendly and good service pub. Well recommended!!

We planned to visit the castle but needed to find somewhere local for a decent Sunday roast lunch.We couldn’t have chosen better. The Ffynnone Arms is about 4 miles away. The carvery had a choice of two meats, beef or pork, both locally sourced, with a good selection of well cooked vegetables.Service was good and the ambiance friendly. Would have chosen a pudding if only we’d left room.....

Just had a stunning Sunday Carvery at at the Ffynnone Arms. The interior was warm and Cosy. The Roast also was very nice and there was nothing I didn’t like about this place. I will defiantly return next time I am in the area.

This was a great little find for us, after rain ruined our bbq plans. The place was very cosy, traditional inside, ample parking at the rear. The menu was small, which is always a good sign, and the food was lovely. There were 6 of us, and everyone enjoyed the food - the kids meals were especially good. A lot of places say cooked from scratch, and you can tell it isn't but here it was clearly all done there and then. To top it all, £90 odd for 4 adults and 2 kids with 4 of us having desserts is pretty good value wise.We will definitely be back.
