Delicious freshly cooked food and a great choice on the menu, smoothies are a must! Service is super friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much for the staff. Premises is tastefully decorated with cool features and you can sit in or outside. It’s a must visit eatery….

A close to high street so convenient spot . Seating inside and outside and out side has shading if you want it also thoughtfully small throws you can sit on or use if gets chilly . Good customer service especially clear and helpful for one of us who has food sensitivity. Really enjoyed the freshly cooked food made to order . Tap water presented nicely in a jug . Ice offered with all appropriate drinks . We definitely will go back and regulars we saw were really friendly too so a nice atmosphere . It looks like they do drinks and maybe food to go so it's close to the cliffs and Prittlewell square park so maybe good to get a drink and food for an instant picnic ? I didn't ask but maybe you can preorder ? Lastly one of us left cardigan behind ,I rang next day and it's being kept for us Would really recommend this venue and the staff .

Delicious food, a great find! We decided on a little walk this morning and didn’t fancy the hotel breakfasts on offer… and lucked out finding this great place. They couldn’t have been nicer, or more accommodating. Delicious food and a great cuppa!

We found this quaint little cafe off the main high street. We were greeted by a lovely polite man, who literally couldn’t do enough for you, this was a good start!!! We ordered the croq monsieur and Madame, it had been baked and came on Tiger bread, can honestly say this was the best I’ve ever had! It came with a lovely side salad with balsamic glaze and we had two lattes. I will be back when I visit my family and will recommend to all my Southend family! Thank u so much!

The food here far exceeded my expectations - I had a chicken ceasar baguette which was delicious. The baguette was warm and crispy and the chicken was freshly cooked and plentiful. Although the menu is extensive my husband went off piste and asked for a combination from the extras list (scrambled eggs, tomatoes, toast) which was no problem for them and was said to be delicious too. Service was friendly and prices reasonable. The cafe is a bit dark so it will be nice to sit outside (there is a little off-road courtyard area) when the weather is better - we shall eat here again next time we are in Southend

Been going to Natalie and Vic’s place since it opened. Never, ever disappointed. Food and service are excellent. It’s a small place and more like a club. Ground floor vibrant and welcoming, downstairs cosy, relaxed. Part open kitchen gleams and Natalie’s plates are always generous and tasty. Menu choices are comprehensive - I love the Mediterranean boat, the omlettes are first rate and the house special smoothies are bursts of flavour. Southend’s finest little cafe 👍

The moment I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile and a friendly manner. A fantastic choice of food and drink on the menus and lovely environment. My sort of place. Ample seating and the ambiance was great. I went for the Eggs Royale with a side of mushrooms and a latte. Will definitely be coming back. Recommended

We were a party of 4, great service, great food and lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Nothing is too much and it is only just off the high street.

I went with my friends from Spain to try the English breakfast and it was it amazing, the food delicious and fresh, quality products. The attention was fabulous. I will recommend Pulp Kitchen to everyone, I'm sure they will be as happy as me and my friends.

We waited for our food for an hour, I’d understand if they were understaffed but they didn’t mention anything like that. We ordered two sandwiches and a smoothie, not like a big group or anything. When the food finally arrived it was very tasty, but we weren’t expecting to have to put more money on the car parking for a sandwich each

Eaten in pulp kitchen numerous times never disappoints, great friendly atmosphere, superb food amazing staff,nothing to much trouble

Fresh food cooked to order. Dog friendly, genuinely helpful staff. Even moved 2 tables together so the 3 of us could sit together. Excellent reasonably priced food and drink. Can have either an alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage. There are several menus including healthy (such as a Buddha bowl), full menu and drinks. My husband and I had the most delicious Welsh Rarebit, with a salad accompaniment. My son had Croque Madam. Lovely strong tasting cheese. My dog was offered a bowl of water. Has a mural of Ganesh on one wall, Buddha sculpture in the window.

Came here for lunch we were attracted by the lovely and bright exterior that was definitely eye catching and not disappointing! Got the salmon and scrambled eggs on white toast was an amazing portion size for the price! And amazing quality - the staff were so attentive and lovely for everything we asked for ! Stumbled across Pulp Kitchen while on way to another eatery and we was taken in by the decor and a great varied menu. The set up was cross between Leigh/Camden vibe so that appealed. Inside we sat upstairs which was quirky/cosy and was greeted very warmly by the front of house then also the owner. I went for a pulp breakfast which I can honestly say I have no complaints with, decent quality products, eggs cooked perfectly and portion size was more than adequate. My partner went for salmon and eggs which normally comes with bread but they were more than happy to swap bread for roasted toms without hesitation or any additional cost! Overall lovely food, quirky, friendly & fairly priced. We will be back. 😁

Can across this little gem tucked away down a side street in Southend on Sea had a great lunch so we called back there today. Upon waling in the door we were greeted by one of the owners saying hello its nice to see you again.We said we had some shopping to do and would call back soon Upon returning we were greeted by both the owners. Had a fantastic lunch and I ordered pancakes and they were better than I ever had in USA the land of pancakes.Vic and Natalie are a fantastic couple and make you feel at home in Pulp Kitchen, so much so we are going to sort out going out for lunch at Leigh on eating on a Tuesday when there place is closed. Really great breakfast! Me and my husband ordered the eggs benedict and the eggs Royale which we could not fault, really delicious.

Think one star is too generous tbf, massive teething problems. Rang to order food to the royal and we were met with rudeness and lateness. No apology nothing so ended up cancelling the order. Let your customers know if something is happening! Hospital breaks are limited. Given current circumstances as well...Ps the screaming and shouting while on the phone is off putting Never again

I came to Pulp Kitchen for a lunch to enjoy the “express” lunch. There was nothing express about the lunch. Until express means taking 40 minutes to arrive and then being wrong anyway.We ordered 3 wraps. One was said to be veggie breakfast wrap. This contained 1 mushroom (slice that is!) a bunch of onions and sausage. I think the onion was meant to me a hash brown but it was just friend onions. No avocado which was stated on the menu. My friends wrap was Meant to have chicken in it, there was no chicken.We went upstairs to complain and no one was even around! We had to shout to get attention!No discount was given to apologise for the long wait, despite it being empty!, or for the wrong order.Smoothie was good though, hence the 2 stars.

Very surprised to find such a lovely venue so close to the High Street but tucked away in a very Cafe Culture spot.It has an interesting and varied menu. In fact it caters for everyone - the choice inclusive of many vegetarian and even vegan dishes, with a large selection of healthy and tempting smoothies!The food we ordered was well presented, delicious and was excellent value. On top on this, the staff were attentive, friendly and above all efficient. Definitely going again!!

I popped in here for a soya latte today, having usually used one of the larger coffee chains but wanting to support an independent.First of all I was annoyed to be called 'darling' three times in he course of placing my order, especially by someone young enough to be my daughter.Secondly, I felt a little ripped off that I was charged a supplement for having soya milk, since most other establishments include this option in the price now Thirdly,the coffee when it came was barely tepid and had almost no coffee taste at all! I took a couple of sips, threw it in the nearest bin and went to to Costa, where I should have gone in the first place.

Me and my partner ate here today and it was delicious! I am a veggie and although he isn’t he is always willing to try new places with me! Pulp has everyone covered though, they have dishes for meat eaters as well as veggies, vegans and they mark what is gluten free. We both had the mac and cheese fried chicken burgers, mine being the vegan ‘nice’ one and his the ‘naughty’ meat one. My vegan burger was so good, made with fried seitan it was one of the best fake chicken burgers I’ve eaten in a restaurant in a while. The wait wasn’t too long and we had a kind waitress who couldn’t do more for us. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and the smoothies.

Had an amazing breakfast with friends here today an impromptu meeting We all had the naughty which is 2 poached eggs on sourdough, avocado , mushrooms , spinach and tomatoes . It was absolutely delicious with so much flavour 5 drinks and 3 breakfast come to £26 worth every penny Will be going again x

My friend and l waited for a while to just place a drinks order. Staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves, particularly about who had or hadn’t cleaned or set up after the shift yesterday. We waited ages for our drinks. My friends food arrived 20 odd minutes before mine, consequently she had finished it before l even got mine. I prompted staff for my food and they fobbed me off. It was nice when it arrived but that kind of wait between meals isn’t acceptable. When l told staff it was poor etiquette, they minimised it and blamed the chef. It wasn’t even particularly busy. I had explicitly asked for no mayo on my burger but l still got it anyway. By this point l was sick of their staff and their inefficiencies. I will think twice about going here again anytime soon. The last time l went it was so much better!

Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter over the weekend. Started with a lovely up of Earl Grey tea, was offered a choice of milk, which I liked. Ordered the hummus and falafel wrap, sweet potato fries and it came with a small salad and a sweep of balsamic on the tray. The food the tasty, hot, and well cooked. Service was efficient, cheerful and polite. I thought value for money was fine for the amount of food I had, no skimping on any of the portions. Thoroughly enjoyed the place, will be back.

We visited on Mother’s Day in the afternoon. We had tried to get into Legends nearby but they were full. Alarm bells rang when it took ages for anyone to take our order. The place was relatively quiet. The young man who served us seemed pleasant enough but everything took ages. It took nearly half an hour for our food to arrive. No apology came for the wait until I asked if there was a problem. When it did come the food was ok. My parsley salad with halloumi and avocado with minted yogurt dressing was quite nice, except it wasn’t a parsley salad and it had a balsamic dressing, not yogurt and mint. To be fair, I had eaten half of it before I realised it wasn’t as on the menu. My wife had two items from the “nibbles” menu. They were ok, but luke warm. The price is top end for this type if food and venue. What you actually get doesn’t match. The other reviews for this place mostly seem better, so I don’t know if we just got there on a bad day. Either way, we won’t be back.

I had a burger there nd felt the meat was off and ate 1/3 of the burger until I thought I should stop. My felling was right I had food poisoning all weekend.Sad story as the quantities were nice and the fries really tasty and the tea lovely.I just can’t recommend a place which has made me so sick, sorry

We both had the Vegan Seitan SFC burger with sweet potato fries and a side of Vegan Halloumi fries too. The food was hot, tasty and served quickly. Everyone was friendly. The radio played in the background. I enjoyed every aspect of my visit with the exception of that dang door keep slamming shut.

I went on Sunday 24th Fen and thought the food was amazing. So many veggie and vegan options I could not decide. The smoothies as well were great. I will 100% be back for a follow up next time I am in southend. Also great to support independent places.

Located in Alexander street off the southend high street, this is a fairly small resturant that does have additional seating downstairs .In warmer weather, they do put a couple of tables outside as well.Food selection is good and their smoothies are some of the best we have tasted

Much preferred the original wrap recipes. Not a fan of the salsa atall. I miss the old jerk chicken and Falafel Wraps ☹

I always love going in here. Has a great selection of smoothies, bith indulgent and healthy, and the vegan options are nice. Not just your standard falafel! Definitely worth a visit.

This was our first experience and the food was excellent, smoothies supreme and the service and manner of the staff was superb.

I have been to Pulp a few times now and the wrap and smoothie deal is great value for money. The last time we went for food, we were the only customers in the restaurant and the staff and their friends had really loud public conversation for the duration of our meal. We even had somebody standing over our table chatting away to the staff about personal matters. It was so awkward and uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to get out of there. We really felt in the way and got to pay for the experience!! I think we’ll only be getting takeaway in future..

I have been a regular visitor to pulp kitchen for a couple of years. I love the smoothie and wrap lunch time deal. My 16 year old son is at college in Southend so last week I persuaded him to have the deal at lunchtime instead of the usual rubbish food he eats with his friends. He was impressed and enjoyed his vegan smoothie and jerk chicken wrap. All fresh ingredients and healthy. It’s also great to see that pulp kitchen offer a student discount to encourage students in for lunch. This lovely little place has gone from strength to strength in the last year and I hope that more of the students get the chance to eat here and enjoy a healthier lunch deal. The only thing I would say is that you do have to wait a little longer as it’s all freshly prepared food but so worth the wait. Great place great staff and great food, highly recommend.

Never been here until recently - food and service are very good . The lunch time special is amazing value for only £7 and does not lose quality.

We visited in mid afternoon on a weekday ,it was busy but the staff found a place for one of our party who is disabled . plenty of room downstairs .a good variety on menu and halloumi salad is extra special !caters for vegans who was one of our party .we will visit again .

This is my fave place in town. I never usually eat salads out but Pulps are amazing esp with the homemade falafel cooked to order - nice and crispy. The wraps are delicious too and Im glad to hear they will be open in the evenings soon as they're getting their alcohol license.

Delicious food and lovely smoothies, completely reasonably priced. Lovely decor and only took around 5 minutes to make it. I know that it can get busy but it was lovely today.

I visit pulp regularly and I am always super happy with the quality of the food and the service! It has a great relaxed vibe where you can just sit and enjoy some lovely healthy food. The tuna vegan wrap is 10/10!

This little venue is up from one of my favourite venues in Southend. This place has excellent coffee and a small but nice selection of good quality foods and snacks. Worth a visit. Friendly service, well priced.

I have been a regular visitor over the last couple of years. They do a great selection of healthy smoothies and some tasty wraps. Food options are quite limited but what they have is very nice. Also if you are looking for a Vegan friendly place in Southend this is a good place to go.

Absolutely love the smoothies here as well as the vegetarian and vegan options they have. Great for a quick lunch or a smoothie on the go. Very reasonably priced. My wife and I regularly go for the smoothie and wrap for £6! Definitely worth a visit for something healthy and tasty at a reasonable price!

Popped in for lunch with mum on a Saturday. Was very pleasant. I had the avocado, mozzarella wrap which was very nice. With a Healthy Elvis smoothie - this was very nice - banana, peanut butter, almond milk, cacao nibs and I added a shot of bee pollen. Thats the nice touch you can add a shot of something healthy for £1. Mum had tea and a sandwich which was good. They do a great lunch deal of a wrap and smoothie for £6. Waitresses pleasant enough - just not enough cakes on display as seen on their website!

I went here with my friends for some lunch and oh my we are both vegetarian and this place was amazing the food was high quality and they was so nice

I had lunch here yesterday - a delicious hot falafel wrap and green machine smoothie. Everything is freshly prepared and at £6 for the lot it was good value. A little side salad with the wrap would have made it look a little less lonely on the plate, but it was tasty nonetheless! The staff were friendly and made good recommendations. It's definitely worth the very short walk from the High Street.

We often wander into Pulp Kitchen on a Saturday afternoon for a quick chilled out lunch, soon as you walk in the place has a super chilled friendly vibe and all the staff are lovely. They do a great meal deal, wrap and a smoothie so we often opt for this as we love wraps and getting our vitamins in with a super fresh fruit shake.

Try one ! The best one everrrrr 😘 In fact I luuurrrve everything from their porridge to their wraps n frappes. You'll find it just off the high street. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

In the process of checking our vegetarian eats in the area we visited for lunch and we weren't disappointed. Service is friendly and efficient. If you're not a smoothie fan, you will be after you've tried one of theirs but there's a great choice of drinks. Food menu is small but it doesn't need to be any bigger as it offers a great choice of delicious fresh food.

Went here for the first time for lunch, and was great to get something healthy in Southend! I got a smoothie and a toastie and was full up for the rest of the day. Will go again and look forward to trying more smoothies.

Great selection of smoothies and wraps, all made from scratch there and then. Excellent combination of flavours, and I have enjoyed every lunch I have had there. Service is quite slow, so be careful if you are on a lunch break!

I often pop in for a smoothie or a quick bite as I work close by. It's great to have so many veggie and vegan options in a town full of burger joints aimed at the meat eater. The vegan cakes are lush. The food is simple but tasty, especially the soups.

Popped in there with family(kids and all) and had some lovely light bites(and some treats!) , I don't think there was much that we didn't try between us (since there were so many of us!) and everyone loved their food(even the fussy kids) I had a really yummy toasted tuna and cheese wrap, really fresh ingredients and balanced to perfection, not too much cheese etc and had their green machine smoothie(i had it without banana which they were more than happy to do) it was really delicious and had the ultimate smug factor, even though I did finish my lunch with a slice of their rum and raisin cheescake which was the most delicious cheescake I've had in a long time, so light and creamy at the same time! (smug factor lost but who cares when it's that good!?)

Love this place, great food, real smoothies, friendly people, excellent decor and bargain prices for a perfect light lunch. One of only a couple of places I would consider eating in Southend for lunch. Good work!!

Great smoothie bar/eat in or take away.i have been back for more time and time again, the chicken rap is my favourite, I like all the smoothies. When your in Southend you must go in and try.

I visited this place as it had been recommended to me by a family member who is a regular. They kept singing praises how great and healthy this place was, so we went there one day.

This place is just what Southend needed. A healthy place to eat/takeaway. Yummy, clever thought out smoothies and juices. Coffee is lovely, and not forgetting the yummy vegan or gluten free treats. I have moved away from Southend now, and live near Brighton. There are lots of cool and different places to eat and drink here, but pulp kitchen actually beats quite a few of these. It has filled a gap and also compliments its surrounding venues. I have two little ones, and felt completely welcome. Friendly staff, great relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend. Thank you for filling the gluten free /healthy gap.

Went into pulp kitchen to find the staff really rude and unprofessional.

This café in a great new addition to Southend. I particularly love the lavender smoothie, and the coffee is great too. I think it is really important that new, small businesses like this are encouraged as they give so much more variety and individuality than the big chains. I enjoyed chatting to the friendly owner this morning and will definitely visit again soon.

Not because it was busy,but the music was a touch loud. I love Cream (The band) as much as the next pensioner,but with that and the blender which made as much noise as a 747 taking off...It did shatter any peace and quiet somewhat. Apart from that, the food was tasty,Hot Chocolate tasted of chocolate,and the Lemon cake was the star of the show. Plus MCLP loved the Vegan cakes so all is well.

We walked here for a coffee last Saturday morning, we had googled beforehand to see it was open at 9am so we arrived about 945 to be told that they didnt open until 10. This wasnt a major problem as we had a quick look round the shops then came back.

This is a really lovely place, nice to sit in and watch the world go by. My friend and I had a falafel wrap which we both thought tasted really fresh and delicious, my friend had an awesome looking smoothie as well, the staff were very nice and friendly. My food, olives and tea came to a very reasonable price. We will be back!
