Once again Prowse did not disappoint, staff friendly and attentive, food fabulous, the sea bass is so tasty, highly recommend!

We first discovered Prowse in November 2023 and posted a thoroughly well-deserved 5-star review. As Londoners, we only went because we had tickets for a show at the Cliffs Pavilion but I said in the review we would have no hesitation driving down again just to eat here. And so it was yesterday that with no show to see and no time constraints, we did come especially to eat at Prowse again. When we arrived, we were greeted by Cat, the owner who unbelievably remembered us from last time. How special does that make you feel after what must have been literally hundreds of other diners? We were served by no less than 5 different staff members, all of whom were delightful – just so professional, friendly and helpful. I had the Surf & Turf and Cat came over to check if the steak was the way I liked it and said if it wasn’t, she’d take it back to the kitchen for her husband to attend to. There was no need. Got it absolutely right first time. My wife had a much simpler dish – Penne Vegetarian but only because that’s what she had last time and pronounced it the best she’d ever tasted. So what does Prowse offer? A huge menu, fairly priced, deliciously cooked dishes served in a way that makes you feel you’re royalty or an ‘A’ lister and by people who clearly love their job and are valued by the owners. Simply the best. It only took us 48 minutes to get home to Woodford Green so no excuse not to come again……………and again………..and again.

Our third visit to this gem of a restaurant. So pleased we have discovered you. A very warm welcome from all staff members who remain attentive throughout the dining experience. Food and service have been consistently excellent at each visit. Extensive menu, cooked to perfection every time. Thank you so much, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

I do not not make reviews lightly but this restaurant deserves the effort. Visiting from Surrey to go to an event at the Cliffs Pavilion. Having been unable to book a table on-line I rang the restaurant to be informed all tables were booked at the time I wanted. However, if I was prepared to be a little flexible on time (30 mins) they could fit us in. Very welcoming and helpful on the phone, and on arrival at the restaurant. The service was excellent as was the food - generous potions and reasonably priced. My only criticism is that it is too far away to make a regular visit.

A very warm welcome, and welcomed with a special cocktail from the owner, made our evening. Seated at an amazing table over looking the sea. Beautiful atmosphere. The menu choice was fantastic with a good selection for everyone including gluten free. As for the cocktail and wine list, plenty of choice. The food was out of this world as was the service. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend to all friends and family.

What a good find this restaurant was. Really good food garlic cheese bread for starters far too much. Followed by prawn casserole with rice couldn’t eat all the prawns but very tasty. Highly recommended.

We ate here on Friday and had a lovely time, the staff are top notch, the food was superb and the restaurant is very clean. We had heard good things about their Kleftiko and it did not disappoint one bit. We will be back.

I had read the reviews & decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, from the time we entered, to the time we left, every thing & everyone were exceptional. Cat the owner was friendly & ensured every thing was as it should be. Jack was great serving the drinks & all the waiters were friendly & professional. The food was hot, tasty & plentiful, we will definitely be recommending to our friends & look forward to our next visit.

Took the wife here for a pre theatre meal. Food was fantastic and portion size was very generous and staff were friendly. I was disappointed that I was charged £8 for a strong coffee which I think is way overpriced. Would have given 5 stars otherwise. Other than that i recommend this place 👍🏼

We came for the first time on Valentines night, we have been looking forward to visiting and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is lovely, with a great atmosphere. The singers were a lovely addition - loud enough to hear, but the perfect volume so as not to feel overpowering. All staff that we encountered were friendly and accommodating. All the food was amazing, and we can't wait to come back.

14 of us visited Prowse for a birthday dinner and all of us were very impressed. The venue was previously a superb Italian restaurant and we were sad to see it go but Prowse has more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted on entry, the waitresses were excellent, very polite, friendly and attentive. All the food orders came out together and were hot. I must say the portion sizes were very generous, because of this we were all too full to order desserts but it was a nice touch that they bought out a selection of some desserts for us to try! Overall an excellent experience, a reasonably priced menu given the quality of the food and the service. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back, thoroughly recommend.
