Proof 65 in North West Leicestershire

We passed this place at the airport on our recent trip abroad and as we had an early flight it had just opened and had space. We had previously tried the restaurant upstairs and wasn’t overly impressed so said we would give it a go. Seated by a lovely bubbly lady - was only 3.30am but she was lovely. Opted for the breakfasts and they were tasty! Piping hot and tasted good quality. Did get a lot busier so queuing for further drinks took some time so may of benefited from more serving staff but this is only a little grumble. Would absolutely return when we are lucky enough to have another holibobs.

Came in for drinks whilst waiting for a delayed flight. Staff were friendly. Prices were about average for an airport bar (2 x large Sav Blancs and 2 x Diet Cokes came to £22). We would've eaten here too but they began to announce that they'd be closing at 5pm, so no food and no more drinks. Which seems a little strange as the last flight to depart was over 2 hours later and you'd sort of think people might want to eat, what with it being dinner time..... Shame really because the menu looked quite good.

Great pie and good beer however short measure of brandy and one miserable looking girl took the head off the lager with a swipe of her finger on 2 occasions that we noticed. As if that wasn’t bad enough she poured a glass of Prosecco too quickly so it foamed up and she then blew into the glass to pop the bubbles and topped it up 🥴

This was really good experience. Sausage cob was amazing as we're the hash browns. Service was outstanding, will certainly be going back

We ordered a sausage sandwich and poached eggs on toast. The eggs were cold and were sent back, the second lot were ok at a push. We ate our breakfast but then I made the mistake of looking around to the kitchen to see the ‘chef’ wiping there nose on the back of their hands. This has made me feel sick. If you are serving other people’s food surely you should not touch your nose!!!!

Dreadful atmosphere, only good thing was it’s position and be able to watch the planes coming in & out. Expensive and food nothing to shout about.

By far the best breakfast offering in East Midlands airport, good beer, great breakfast. We will definitely be returning when we are next in the airport

Not worth being open! Shambolic offering at East Midlands airport this morning. No eggs, no sausage, no cobs, no avocado and no coffees other than instant as the coffee machine is broken. And I just overheard staff discussing the fact that they’re short staffed this afternoon. Which probably won’t matter because people are walking out. We stayed, but only because I needed to eat quickly for medical reasons. I realise we’re just coming out of the New Year period, but really! Don’t open if you can’t provide the service. One star is for the staff who were having to break the bad news all the time. Felt a bit sorry for them

Great food and service from the staff with views of the planes. Tea was so nice here too and convenient location when going on holiday and good prices

Seated close the kitchen pass, I was disgusted when I saw the cook (?) heat up some potato type things and the. Pick them all up in her bare hands from the baking tray to the bowl. Yuk! No gloves either. Would never eat anything here! Some food hygiene training desperately needed! East Midlands Airport.

Enjoyed a reasonably priced airport breakfast and a lovely coffee here. Great view of the runway and the planes, lovely and clean and nice polite staff. The veggie sausage cob I had was delicious and the bread, described as "crusty", was certainly that! Would recommend over Starbucks. Starting my holiday the right way!

Glad to see this bar/restaurant open again as it is one of the better places to enjoy a drink/bite to eat before a flight.

Early morning visit, fantastic food and drinks, lovely friendly staff. Prices really good for an airport, we were really impressed. Will definitely come back.

Popped on for a drink pre flight. Rude staff and upon getting drink was rushed along as apparently they where closing 3 minutes before. Maybe should have said when taking the money first. Poor staff, good kick start to the holidays 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

First time i have ever had the unfortunate displeasure of dining here, an it will be the last. I fly in an out of East Midlands Airport 2/3 times a year on average, an i chose to have lunch here at the beginning of October 2020, the pandemic was still in full swing so lockdown meant that most places at East Mids were closed, so i found myself limited. Obviously with the lockdown measures in place i wasn't sure of how this place was operating so i was told to take a seat an someone will come to take my order. I looked at the menu, one of which had very few choices on it. I did however make a choice an so waited, 15 minutes, and two couples served that came in after i did, later, i went up an asked when i was going to get served, 5 minutes later i finally got served. There was only one person serving and another clearing and wiping tables. The place was not that busy, apart from myself there was only about 7 other people in there. I found the service very poor here, the 2 members of staff were disorganised an their laid back attitude was too horizontal for my liking an something not what you would expect from any business. I found it expensive here too for what i ordered. 2 very small Steak Sliders - £6, Wedges £2, so £8.....which you would say is average but these sliders were tiny. The Proof craft lager at £5.50 is about what you pay for a pint at the airport now, though when you pay £1.70 less at your average pub, it is still expensive. I wanted to get some food down me as i knew i wouldn't be getting anything to eat for at least another 7/8 hours, but it was not the case as i left here disappointed and somewhat a tad peckish. Overall, a very disappointing experience, waste of time and money - don't bother.

Quite surreal really. Only us and another couple in, the shops opposite all shut, no passing footfall, and the very friendly staff “ keeping their pecker up” the best they can. The menu is pretty basic, however still of a good grade. The drinks were extremely well served. Go for a G and T and get a cone of salted popcorn clipped to your glass with a clothes peg! I visit East Mids an awful lot, and I would thoroughly recommend.

We called in for breakfast prior to our flight and found a pleasant oasis in the usual airport hustle and bustle. The menu was fairly extensive and prices reasonable. My wife and I had different dishes which we both found very good. Staff were friendly and professional and service very good.

Go to place when waiting for a flight, great selection of drinks and a relaxing environment to waste a couple of hours in with excellent service from the staff.

Quirky modern place, the bar is back to front. The cash tills face the customers. But it has table service so that’s good.

We had a quick drink at this cafe when we were waiting for our flight. It was very clean, bright and welcoming with lots of charger points :) We will go back again.
