Long slow queue with staff who didnt seem to care. The queue was out the door and it just took forever to serve one person. No sense of urgency. 1 girl who I suspect was a new starter and a completely disinterested ‘Manager’. They need more staff!!! And a smile might help!!!

I love it. The salmon is delicious and the antique, beautiful, and exotic from my Asian country. And most importantly, it welcomes therapy dogs, patients like me. It was a wonderful day in a wonderful place.

Hampton Court's Privy Kitchen offers acceptable food. The staff is helpful and efficient. However, their tea is a national disgrace: tepid water and bland tea (in a bag). Tea at the Tiltyard Cafe was even worse with even cooler water. Hampton Court's dining options lag those of other London museums (for example the Tate Britain), but their tea is an actual scandal.

Awful. Pie was £15 which is pretty extortionate. The two sides it came with turned out to be mash and a few salad leaves. There was no cutlery and it was cold before we got a fork despite asking a few times. The soup was thin and tasteless and came with a very stale piece of bread. I had to ask specially for some butter. Without doubt the worst food I’ve had at a national trust/English heritage type set up and definitely the most expensive.

Visted yesterday and found the cafe very overpriced - £5.95 for a sausage roll that literally dripped fat all over the table - you can get half a dozen much nicer ones at Greggs for that 😂 Chocolate cake looked good but at £5.25 a slice we gave it a miss, likewise £11.50 for a baked potato with sausage and onions. My latte didn't appear to have much milk in it (clue should be in the name) and the service wasn't particularly friendly either. Dirty crockery was piling up and not being cleared - I'm guessing they were short of staff. Hampton Court Palace is one of my absolute favourite places but this little cafe really needs some TLC.

Pie 🥧 was amazing but not sure why the more traditional mash peas and gravy has been replaced with dry salad with no dressings. Makes it very dry sadly.

Current offering of Pie and salad is poor compared to the previous pie and mash menu. Many people were having sausage rolls instead as the pie was not good value for money.

just wanted somewhere for a sit down and a cup of tea... and this fitted the bill, the tea and coffee are from a machine, the slice of cake was good though the seating area is a basic room with benches and tables but its okay.

A cool dry winters day at Hampton Court Palace perfectly suits the Privy Kitchen Cafe. Smile at the name, enjoy lunch, get back to mazes or history.

Had the steak and ale pie and loved it. It was great after a rainy morning touring the indoors before the rain vanished so we could explore the gardens. The mashed potatoes were ok and my shortbread was dry and not great, but the lemon cake and the scones were yummy.

Ate here on a visit to Hampton Court Palace, added to our delight with the day. I had a scotch egg and cheese ploughman's lunch, my wife had a caaser salad both were really good, very fresh and good value. Excellent service.

Located inside Hampton Court Palace the Privy Kitchen Cafe does a limited selection of food such as Pies and Mash, Soup of The Day, Jacket Spuds, a few Sandwiches, Wraps and Cakes. We had 1 sandwich, 1 wrap, 2 can's of drink and 2 bags of crisps and it came to GB£20.95 so prices are pretty high. You can take-away or eat in the Privy Kitchen dining area that is nicely appointed and has character. All in all nice food and good service but you pay a premium as you are eating in Hampton Court Palace.

We popped in for tea and cake and also noticed the pies that were on offer. A mental note has been made to have some on our next visit. This is a more informal cafe in the Palace which is laid out with benches. Perfect for families to use - lots of space.

漢普頓宮內的小型咖啡廳,食物主要是三明治 和沙律,價格合理。較特别是可坐在環境像回到十八世紀的裝飾和餐桌座位。

Chose this location for a drink as it was so fiercely hot and bright outside. Sadly no pots of tea. Served as a bag in a mug this was very disappointing and wasn't enjoyable. I didn't go to the counter so didn't know this in advance. Cake was light but overly sweet. On another visit I'd choose a different location within the Palace although to be fair other customers seemed to be polishing off what they'd purchased.

Stopped by to grab a bite to eat whilst touring the palace, food was a bit overpriced for what was on offer, although choice was enough to offer in the space provided. We opted for a jacket potato and soup amongst ourselves. one point to make, the exit and way in signs near to be clearer or no access signs signs needed! There were people queue jumping and going in against those trying to find seating with hot food on trays!! Being situated in the palace, it was very authentic, and offered old fashioned style food too!

We entered the cafe it looked clean and the till girls were friendly. But sadly the cafe was let down by contamination of 2 out of our 3 meals. One of the dishes mash had a long brown hair in and my soup had a thin bit of plastic in which sort of looked like a wrapper of some sort.

If you're on a budget this Hampton Court cafe is the one to go to. It's warm and you can get pies/mash, soup and sandwiches, as well as tea and coffee and some other snacks.

Small selection, but what we had was quite good and filling – a dressed potato and a steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes. Note that along the back wall of the seating area it looks like a bench to sit on - it's actually a heater, which is good to know on chilly days.

We only stopped for a cup of tea but were helped to find seats by a very pleasant young lady who then went and fetched milk and sugar for us. Judging from the queue the pies, mash and mushy peas were a winner and there never seemed to be anything left on the plates.

The food here was wonderful & very vegetarian-friendly, & the meal was a really good value as well. And of course you can't beat the historical aspect of eating in a royal place hundreds of years old. The dining area had a great medieval feel & was very family-friendly.

Had a lovely lunch here, while visiting the palace. The meat pie was delicious, though I wasn't a big fan of the mashed peas. Fast service, freshly prepared food, good prices and plenty places to sit and enjoy your meal. Loved the quaint cafe.

There were several choices at the "cafeteria" style cafe. After getting your order, you take your tray to the adjoining room in the palace, and we sat at large tables and benches. We were joined by a Tudor historian and author, and had a delightful conversation while we ate. My husband (a former history teacher) is currently reading his book now. The food wasn't exceptional. but it was fine. I'm sure it was less expensive than the other restaurant on site, certainly less formal. We relish the opportunity to meet and speak with others, so were quite happy with sharing table.

I understand in the UK, food such as ham and cheese fillers should not be handled with bear hands but with gloves onbefore serving to customers. Having looked into the window of Gales in Richmond 10 minutes ago I was sickened to see a member of staff with bear hands compacting what looked like cheese in her hands before stuffing it into a croissant, beside her were a tray others already made so I could only surmise that she had also used bear hands to do fill these too. Not hygienic at all, so not wishing to digest any germs spread by a lack of the simple hygiene rule, I decided to eat elsewhere, but would suggest this lady gets urgent hygiene training before handling any further foods. 16.05.25 - Today I was once again walking past the shop, once again viewed a lady this time making filled rolls, again no gloves from one roll to the next, using her hands, was this cross-contamination as well as unhygienic? I think I will carry on walking by.
