It is a great pub with a good selection of beer and food and great atmosphere

Walked in since I was hungry for lunch. Great place very recommended. Staff is very friendly and the food is great! The atmosphere is what you expect from an English pub with calm music and I really enjoyed my stay here. Would come back again :)

Nice pub with reasonably priced pints and friendly staff. We sat outside, which was very pleasant and when it got a little cold we were able to turn on the patio heater.

Very different from your usual every day drinks so it's well worth trying from other pubs. High quality beers but very low quality food. We went there in the evening and the food was considered 'average' for the amount we had to pay. A very low quality Sunday dinner. If you were ever planning to go for a Christmas meal, scrap it, it's not worth it. The meal will be large but of low quality. I'd even suggest going somewhere else of lower quality such as Nandos or another pub

This is our local and we have been coming for years. Unfortunately we don't come here more often because of the limited options for vegans. Currently in terms of mains this stands at one quinoa salad only. The "plant based burger" actually has egg in the bun, and cheddar, and honestly this would be really easy to make vegan with minimal effort. There used to be a pasta dish too but no longer available on the current menu. Fantastic beer and drinks selection, atmosphere is wonderful, just please widen the food options for the vegans.

Abysmal customer service . The second time I have been where the staff are obnoxious, arrogant and rude. Manners cost nothing. If you want a friendly pub then I would avoid this one!

I came a few weeks ago with a family friend and the food and service was 5/5. Today our family went for a birthday meal for our mum and the food was awful. 2 people in the group ordered the vegetarian roast. We were served with no gravy the food was so dry and the veg hard and undercooked we couldn't eat it. We did request more gravy for the table but as we poured it on the food it solidified into a jelly and did not help regarding how dry everything was. Other people who had gravy on their plate had the same problem and had to keep requesting more gravy. The wait staff were exceptional and never seemed stressed out, they are an absolute credit to the pub and they removed 1 roast from the bill total due to it being completely unedible. The kitchen staff not so much the food was really poor. There was also a discrepancy with the bill which we did not realise at the time, we were charged a full priced roast for a child's roast. Also on the menu the vegetarian roast are shown as £14 each and we were charged £16 each. Drink prices were good but £200 on food for most of it to be uneaten just isn't acceptable. Again thank you to the wait staff.

Came here for a Sunday roast and come drinks. The roast was amazing and we had a lovely time. I know they sometimes run out of roasts so best to come a little earlier.

Cannot fault the absolutely delightful staff. They were all very special. Could not have been more attentive or helpful. However my chicken schnitzel was three quarters inedible. My friend’s burger was no more than “ok”. We paid our bill and I told the person taking the bill (having paid it) that as an “observation not a complaint” about the chicken. She immediately disappeared - me saying “I’ve paid and don’t want a refund” she came back with a credit to my card. This was unexpected and not reason for my comment. However from the service point of view this response was excellent. The environment was good with plenty of space between tables .

4 of us went there on 30/10/23 To see a "Psychic" after seeing a sign in the window saying "psychic event" one of us called them prior to find out if a booking was needed and price. Was told no booking needed and the event was free. Turned up got our reasonably priced drinks (card payment only) sat down at a table then a person to come up to us and ask for our payment for the show. In cash £25pp the money was going to "charity" (i personally doubt that. Asking cash in a cashless pub seems a little bit off to me) we refused to pay and left just out of principle of previously being informed its free. We refused to pay and left to take part in a quiz in another pub.

My loud friends and I are here every Sunday for the quiz, it's our weekly watering hole. The staff members are beyond friendly and put up with our shenanigans always. The Nachos are to die for. And the quiz is a great time! Cheers from the big roudy table :)

Perfect end of a lovely holiday for my American family.

After living for 20 years in Putney, our first much-anticipated dinner at the Prince of Wales fulfilled all the promises. We had a deliciously fresh fish and chips, far from the greasy slab — special mention for the crispiest chunky fries and the to-fight-for mushy peas. Everything on the plate is well conceived, even the tartare sauce. We gave back white clean plates. And the desserts are killers too. The spiciest sweetest sticky toffee pudding of all! Thank you for a lovely, well-advised service in a scenic, homy pub setting! A gem!

Lovely pub, great decor and friendly staff. Music was a bit too loud when we first arrived but was turned down when the manager noticed we were struggling to be heard.

Good high street pub with food available. Nice atmosphere, good ales and lagers and a comfortable relaxed vibe. Well worth a visit for groups, or fewer. You can settle in and watch Putney go by.

My partner and I hired The Prince of Wales for my 40th birthday. We hired the dinning area downstairs which is perfect to buy drinks at the bar, toilets nearby and exit door for the smokers. We had set menu buffet and added some extras which I would recommend. My guests enjoyed the food with favourite being mini burgers. The staff were lovely and always around for when we needed. The pub has a lovely ambience perfect for different events at a reasonable price. My guests and I had a lovely time, would definitely recommend.

It happens to be my local but I’ve got very frustrated with this place after years of trying. There’s hardly ever anywhere to sit and if you do manage to do so, you’re sitting in a corridor - it’s not a relaxing environment. The whole pub is one big corridor.

A good place for the once a month meeting with the SW London group of the Royal Photographic Society. The room upstairs is good apart from the road noise which we have to put up with in order to allow some air from open windows. I appreciate the well served Timothy Taylor but feel uninspired by the various icons on the upper taps. Although I have not specifically asked, I do think that this is now a non cash pub. I am not happy with any business refusing cash, so can not approve of this. I can at least say that they are okay with me reversing the card machine to allow card and pin number rather than contactless. I don't do contactless. Nice place for small group to sit, drink and chat but I have found myself fighting with noise coming from either outside or inside.

Nice friendly pub but a lot of beer flies

We turned up for another of their great Sunday lunches but wondered why they were so empty. They used to be packed out on Sundays. Turned out the lovely slabs of beef had morphed into thinnest slices possible. No wonder people were voting with their feet. Then came back a few weeks later for their 2-for-1 Tuesday evening burgers. Again, not even half full. We were not asked how we wanted them cooked. When we tried to discuss this, were told the burgers came "as is" because they were pre-cooked! Not surprisingly, while (admittedly) the patties were better than MacDonalds, the burger as a whole was not nearly as tasty. And, why would you even need to completely pre-cook the burgers when not even 10 people were ordering them that evening?

Went here years ago, had a Sunday roast for the first time. It was average, absolutely nothing to make it unique. We were promised the beef was pink….. came out no pink…….. I would not eat again. Would come as a drinker not an eater.

Really helpful staff especially Brendan. He was extremely accomodating for our private function in terms of the room and the variety of options for food and drink. The staff service was excellent throughout, and they were attentive without being obvious. The candles on the tables added a lovely ambience and they did that without being asked. The chef prepared a lovely buffet which was excellent! Thank you to all for being so helpful and making our occasion perfect.

I love this pub. I've had sunday roasts in probably every pub in the Putney and Wandsworth area and this is by far the best one I've had. Add to that the excellent selection of wines and superbly kept ales and I was on to a winner. The music was exactly what I wanted on a sunday afternoon (late 50s, early 60s classics), the staff were friendly and welcoming, and they had a great couple of Chesterfields by the fire for a closing glass of vino. A wonderful pub and somewhere I'll be visiting regularly on a sunday afternoon.

Saturday lunch for 14 people for my son's 18th, with guests including my elderly parents and the dog! Very well organised, including accommodating last minute drop outs. Food was excellent. Service was charming. Great pub.

Had fish and chips which was tasty. Mushy peas were fab! Nothing was too much trouble and even managed to get a seat by the open fire after lunch. Will definitely visit again soon!

Decent choice of drinks, friendly bar staff and crowd - only down side is a little short of seats inside but it's a popular pub on a friday evening so goes with the territory.

We were one of the earliest in, at 1pm. This pub hasn’t really changed in at least a decade, since Fergus and his superb wine list first put it on the map. We've tried it every few years since and were always disappointed, until now. Food took about 15” in an almost empty restaurant but arrived hot and abundant. Two thick cut and large slices of excellent quality sirloin with carrots, parsnips, broccoli and crispy potatoes. The vegetables were perfect, just slightly al dente, and the gravy - unusually - was even better than ours. The restaurant part was filling up by the time we finished, with a cross section of couples, families and groups of friends. We booked our next Sunday lunch before leaving.

We liked this place. It had character and class and the Guinness was good. The green sofa was a bit saggy and low, but yeah, definitely worth a visit - nice looking place - hanging plants and such. Very near to East Putney Tube Station. They started serving supper at 5pm, just after we'd turned up and we just had a sticky toffee pudding, which was yummy, even after several pints of Guinness. We were a bit noisy, due to being tipsy, and they politely asked us to 'turn it down'. The background music in there was very good, I thought (they had the very extended version of 'American Pie', amongst others). They don't take cash.

Fabulous Sunday roast. Served hot, delicious veg, plenty of meat. Very tasty. Didnt have to wait too long and the service was excellent. You will not be disappointed.

Los camareros super majos y el ambiente genial. La comida no era muy allá, quizás nos equivocamos con las elecciones o como ha ia mucha gente en el barrio tuvimos mala suerte. Richmon es muy bonito, tanto como nothing hill pero mucho menos abarrotado de gente. El barrio es ideal para pasearse por los lugares de ted lasso y para pasear por el bosque y ver ciervos.
