at the age of 16 i think i’ve been here for 15 years. This place was always the go to. Food was unreal and extremely affordable. From breakfasts to die for to pizzas that were just incredible. This place had it all

I can’t stress enough how unreal this diamond in the rough cafe is.. I’ve been going here for 10yr +… the staff have became friends and the food is to die for.. none of this processed rubbish either .. Salvatore … or.. “Sal” … to his friends is obviously the engine out back cooking beautiful hearty food that never EVER leaves you still hungry.. in fact it feeds me and the dog normally.. and the service is 2nd to none.. always happy to see you and laughs are had all round …. Primo in Italian means first.. and it should be the first place you visit after reading this…best cafe’ in the world for me 10/10 on a bad day X

Este es el mejor cafe que he comido, los desayunos son enormes y muy asequible, excelente relación calidad-precio. El personal es muy amable, no puedo recomendar este café lo suficiente! Bien merece una visita!

I have to visit (the lane) about 4 times a year ,and The Primo is my first stop. After a 3 hour journey I need to eat, and Elaines breakfast is just the job, All the food here is homemade proper cafe food, , served by friendly team, At great prices , good hot and cold sandwiches rolls etc to take away , even do a nice roast on Sunday. Elaine the owner is a lovely friendly lady, who deseverves praise for making this little cafe so nice, nothing fancy just plain home cooking, done well, it does close quite early ,about 2 I think, though

Bien hecho.

Quick note before review. They only accept cash. I wanted to try it as it is a lovely setting and bakehouse. I went in at 10:30am and fancied some quiche off the menu. It wasn't ready (wasn't cooked). There really wasn't anything that made it a bakehouse on the day. I ended up having homemade broccoli and stilton soup and a old school corned beef toastie which was quite nice.

Attended a party here last night, Terrible service and drinks. The staff were miserable definitely no service with smiles in this place. I do agree with the last review, the staff need customer service training. Gin with a warm bottle of cheap lemonade for my first drink, Then I got a glass of Warm Prosecco (which I was advised by the staff that the party guests were drinking far to quick so can’t chill quick enough)🥴 Then I received a flat dreg from a different kind of Prosecco bottle which I had to send back. Then I noticed each round of the same drinks I was being charged different prices. When questioned I was told I should be lucky that I have been undercharged the previous time🥴 Good job this place is at the bottom end of the town so it was a 1 off visit, I’ll not have to visit again.

Nothing Italian about this place, no music, soon as sat down young girl asked what lager I wanted? Didn't like that, bit patronising, lasagne was just sauce around a globule of cheese, basic and tasteless.Wife had chicken in sauce, very basic nit worth the price..Overall 3 of us went 3 of us left disappointed and wouldn't go back..Over priced Nd Over rated..not for me what if used to be, poor effort..

Customers both eating in and taking out have to queue at the till where there is very little room. Dogs aren't allowed inside with their owners to eat but they are allowed to queue inside. Today a man with a large dog was queuing for at least 10 minutes the dog was barking which made a child cry, it was smelly and getting in staff and customers way until he eventually got his food and sat outside. It would be much pleasanter experince for cutomers if orders were taken at the table.
