Nice restaurant, the waiters are really attentive and helpful. The beer recommendation was a really nice and good touch. The food quality was good but nothing crazy. All in all we enjoyed our experience.

Steak came over cooked. Caitlin saved the day and sorted everything.thank you for rescuing the day Caitlin. Lovely manner and made us feel very comfortable. Hope she gets a pay rise:-)

food are good, not too complicated, fresh. services okay, waiters are polite, but too busy to cover every table, it took me about 30 minutes for check and pay.

Another great showing form Prime. Chicken skewer starter (picture) was one of the best starters I’ve ever had. Steak was lovely but over cooked for what I’d asked. Will certainly be back

My husband and I visited Inverness for two very rare nights away. One seafood lover and one steak lover we chose Prime for the diverse menu and what looked like a relaxed ambiance. Unfortunately it was a disaster from start to finish. We were told by one waitress that she was sorry for our experience and explained this was due to ‘many new starts in training’, this waitress appeared very aware of the chaos. An overview: no drinks menu given, finally ordered a drink and wine brought to table without glasses, ordered water which we had to remind staff to bring, flustered staff who had no idea where plates were going when they left kitchen, cold hot starter which was over salted, short rib burger flavourless, bland sauces which needed to be seasoned, chips undercooked, fillet steak ordered medium rare and came almost blue…sent back to return exactly the same as it left. 55 minutes between starter and mains with no update, we at one point wondered if they had forgotten altogether. At one point it appeared two male members of staff were having a disagreement in the middle of the floor in front of customers. Kind enough to reduce price of wine by £12 from £32 to £20 however there was absolutely nothing wrong with the white wine. £120 poorly spent.

We had a very enjoyable meal on a Friday evening, with enthusiastic and attentive service from the staff, particularly Csaba. The short rib burger and Barbary duck were lovely and the creme brûlée gorgeous. Recommend this pleasant riverside restaurant.

The cocktails served on the first one were okay, both beautiful and tasty, and the oysters on the second one tasted pretty good, fresh and sweet, and the price of 3.5 pounds each was considered reasonable. However, the overall price/performance ratio of the dishes is low, and the service is slow (about 40 minutes). For the main course with an average price of 25 pounds, friends generally report that they can only eat 50 cents full, the portion is small, and the taste is not very good. It seems that the sweet and sour taste is mixed but lacks saltiness (I ordered paper-wrapped trout in trout en). In short, I don’t recommend it. I don’t know why the rating is so high and there are five-star highly recommended reviews. Maybe it’s because I haven’t eaten much real food. Later, everyone was not happy and went to McDonald’s. I regret that I only saw those bad reviews now. You are right...

Up in inverness for the weekend and decided to book this restaurant. booked 2 hours in advance and got a table. restaurant was warm and cosy with a very welcoming team. the food was superb and experience made better by an ever so helpful maeve. we will be back if we are in inverness again however manchester isn’t the closest unfortunately!

I was wanting a good steak dinner will out, read the mixed reviews but decided to give it a go. We were sat down right away with no wait. (Sunday dinner). The waiter was friendly and nice, and took our order right away. We got bread for a starter, it was not good, it's just cold, flavorless bread... wouldn't recommend that. We both got the ribeye, and it was cooked rare like we asked, but it was insanely chewy, comparable to a round steak cut. For the price, it's a bit ridiculous. The potatos were disgusting, no flavor. For the price of this place, my expectations were higher, but were overall disappointing. The lady who brought the check was a bit rude and didn't say anything, and when leaving no one said anything as we left as they were all chatting instead. Wouldn't come back.

Went here because I saw the seafood platter on the menu. It was even better than described. Had it as a main course. Absolutely delicious. The rollmop herring was perfect, not sweet like some. Husband has the duck and said it was lovely. Very reasonable prices and excellent service.

Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time for our food. The portions are very, very small, for example a slice of eggplant under the cod fillet and 3 spinach leaves. But it is overpriced. One of the three starters was forgotten and then appeared on the bill. The price for the glasses of wine was also incorrect. When the waitress unfortunately had to change the bill twice, which was no fault of ours, she was quite annoyed and rolled her eyes. There wasn't even an apology. Given the prices and the ambience, you would think that the employees are trained to make the guests feel comfortable. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with our group. But feel free to go and see for yourself.

What can I say!!! Absolutely first class in all areas! Our waiter ( Aloshia, sorry if my spelling is bad!!!!!) was first class, the meal, first class, in fact absolutely everything about our evening was first class!y!! I had the mussels, my daughter had the trout en papillote, both wonderful! Then we both had crème brûlée and it was so light, tasty and delicious. This restaurant is truly a gem and if you've not been then you really need to go.

Lovely birthday dinner! After reading some of the reviews, I wasn’t sure about this restaurant. But my personal experience is that it was absolutely perfect. We were greeted warmly by Richard and shown to a lovely table overlooking the water. Both myself and my date were given a glass of bubbly to start with. There is a nice wine list as well as beer and cocktails. I had the fillet and macaroni and cheese. My date had the ribeye and onion rings. Both the steaks were cooked perfectly, the sides were done equally as well. Service was spot on. We didn’t have room for dessert, but there were delicious sounding options.

Delighted to have chosen this restaurant for our family Mother’s Day outing. The food was excellent and great value for money. We were really impressed by the service too. Aloysjus looked after us ever so well- an enthusiastic greeting, took great care to check with the chef re specific dietary requirements and was extremely attentive throughout . A varied menu , great food and professional service- what’s not to like?

Not sure about food,but management is terrible! Was working there for 2 hours like trial shift, after that was waiting for my money for two weeks, and would waiting much longer, if would not come in and speak with them. So be very careful if planning come to work here!!!

Food was very good, but i had violent food poisoning after eating the trout, was almost worth it but the food poisoning was really really bad. 2 stars.

Last night while walking by the river we accidentally entered the restaurant. The decoration was wonderful, the waiters were smiling and kind! Csaba who served our table was one of the best waiters I have ever had! The food excellent and over our expectations! We ate the most well-cooked and delicious Tomacho steak. Thank you ❤️

Happen to chance by & decided to try. A perfect 5 star rating. Service staff is super friendly & warmth. The price is reasonable & quality, taste of their food is good. The Ribeye beef is nicely cooked to choose. I must say the mussels are superb & fresh. It is slightly spicy for those who love spice. This dish is highly recommended. Dip the toast with the sauce is heavenly. Damage for 2 at £68.50.

We celebrated my sons 14th birthday here yesterday and it was lovely. He had asked us to take him to a steak restaurant and I had passed this while in town and was keen to try it. The food was delicious especially the bone marrow sauce! The gentleman with the beard that served us was such a good host. He couldn't have done more for us and we really enjoyed the meal. We will definitely be going back again

On a long drive up through Scotland, Prime was a wonderful surprise to find while staying in Inverness. The incredible value for money in the seafood platter and the short rib had us coming back for dinner again the next night. I genuinely struggled to find fault with anything their kitchen turned out, although there was a short gap between being seated and having drinks orders taken (which was put down to new staff members). Definitely somewhere special to stop if you want to see the local produce treated with care and respect.

Had a great meal, wonderful service by Aloysius, we will definitely be back!

This is some of the best food I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We both tried oysters for the first time before a starter of fresh seafood. Our mains were both perfect. I have honestly never had a more tender short rib, ten out of ten! All the food was brought out by lovely, friendly waiters too, which made the meal even better.

I tired Grilled Sea Bass, Sunday Roast and Sticky Toffee Pudding here. Highly recommended!

The food was very good and reasonably priced. The drinks menu is extensive. The highlight is definitely the massively attentive staff who couldn't do enough for you.

Beautiful food, fantastic service all on Valentines Night which can sometimes ruin the food and the service. Visited with my wife and all the dishes and wine were top draw. Csaba and the team made the evening even better.

Nice food and service all over but the tomahawk steak was extremely chewy. Maybe if the chef cooking a bit slower and resting more the meat ...

Jamie, Richard and Caaba were our servers. A complete delight… professional, funny and entertaining. Fabulous food. Deserts are a bit too expensive but everything else was fantastic.

Had a booking for 8 people and at last minute had an additional family member arrive, not only did they supply an extra seat to an all ready large booking but was able to add a additional meal that arrived amazingly fast, all in all had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend

The 3 us were in Inverness for a lads Xmas break. This establishment looked nice and inviting. We all started with a Cullen skink was bland and hardly any fish in it and potatoes hard. This clearly wasn't seasoned properly. We then had a main course 2 had chicken and I had beef Wellington. We were all disappointed and felt the food was all needing seasoned. We can't complain about the service as the young girl was very nice to us. We also enjoyed the red wine and drinks but unfortunately the food left us dissatisfied.

It is a very nice shop with delicious food. The star was only deducted because the food could be hotter and special requests were not accepted. It's a shame we're leaving today, otherwise we would have been there every day. At the end we went to the bar of the restaurant which gave the whole thing a crowning conclusion.

After 1,5 week touring Great Britain, and eating out every day, this was the first time we had a delicious meal. Waiter Richard made it extra special. He worked his ass off, as they were short of staff, but kept smiling and being witty. Would definitely eat herre again (and again and again), whenever in Inverness again.

My young Grandson (age 13) treated me to lunch today using the eat out for less offer. The menu was excellent value and our waiter, Richard, went above and beyond throughout our visit. We had a lovely window seat. Food was first class and portion sizes were great. Highly recommend.

The food was expensive and didn’t reflect the taste. We asked for a medium steak and it came out rare. We returned it twice to the kitchen until they did it properly. The service was ok. We don’t recommend on this restaurant.

I had already left a very positive review in 2018 but we had an even more incredible evening this week. The first time we came to the prime the day after our wedding then we came back in 2019 to celebrate our anniversary. Every time, whether it was the food or the service, everything was very good. But for our 6th birthday we were lucky enough to be pampered by Laura and Csaba. Once again, the meat (we had the chateaubriand) and the wine (I recommend the primitivo) were superb, but between their attentions and their kindness, these two beautiful people made this evening even more unforgettable ❤️❤️❤️ See u next year ❤️ Fred

Very dissappointed to find that they are not really suited for wheelchair users when we had asked prior to booking. Toilet unsuitable for wheelchair, it wouldn't fit.

Very cosy restaurant with excellent service. I had the beef short rib which was very well cooked and delicious. My wife had the blackened cod which was good, but the portion was too small and the dish needed some type of starch (she left hungry). The eggplant that accompanied the fish was tough and had not been properly prepared. Based on other reviews, the chefs seem to do better with meats than seafood.

Having been at prime loads of times now, today was the biggest disappointment, Sunday roast if you can call it that, poor quality Yorkshire puddings, ( normaly amazing ) we were told they were bought in, we got 3 each as they were tiny, last nights boiled potatoes passed off as roast potatoes, horseradish sauce also bought in we were told sorry for the delay we had to find the box and open it ?? ( what ) a restaurant of this expected calibre should really be making their own yourkies roast potatoes and horseradish… extremely dissatisfying… but we have had amazing meals there, maybe just an off day ??? Even the chefs apologised for the sub standard food, not good enough in a small city

There wasn't much variation on the menu, but the food was lovely. It was noisy as the end of our table was beside the coffee machine & glass dishwasher!

First time back in Inverness in many years and the place has really changed all for the better. Walking around came across Prime and great that we did. No reservations but we're welcomed in,not because they were empty but they are lovely people. As we enjoyed lovely food and a great atmosphere the place soon filled, but the staff are brilliant know their stuff and make you feel as if you are one of their best customers. Definitely coming back here before we go home. I suggest you maybe book before you go, so you don't miss out on great food and a lovely experience.

Sadly underwhelming! Drove a long way to meet up with friends here. I had the baked camembert starter which unfortunately was barely warm. A friend had the chicken which was sent out raw in the middle. Lots of confusion around the steaks as they came to the table, which was which and which sauce went with which. Steaks were ok but have definitely had better for less. For dessert I ordered chocolate cheesecake, no chocolate anywhere to be seen on it but by that point had given up!

Good but pricey food nicely served from a smallish menu. The lamb rump was excellent, but the sea bass a little disappointing- only one small fillet and a mound of inedibly woody samphire.

Excellent service, comfortable atmosphere and good food

Two weeks ago we had standing reservations for Dinner for ten straight nights. Everything was exceptional from the cuisines to the service. Great views of the River Ness and people watching.

The food was really good and didn’t leave anything to ask for. However, what really made the evening for us something special was the awesome service provided by Caitlin and Laura. They didn’t leave anyone waiting yet they still took their time to probide the best service possible to the specific table. We even got a great Pub recommendation!

Lunch service. Food was OK but overpriced and nothing special. Service was very friendly though.

I cannot fault a single thing. Went for my girlfriends birthday and had hands down the greatest roast of my life. Meat was melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. Service was also absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Raheel Is a fantastic server!Just perfect. 100% will be back!

They don't offer takeaway but they did it for us when they heard my 1 year old son was in hospital. Really good food and amazing service❤️

Mega bad food cold and expensive

Food was really delicious. We had the lamb and duck which were beautifully presented and very tasty. Only X was the gf bread was quite poor (a heavily toasted thin small slice, and end piece 🤔😭, of supermarket style bread with the oil/vinegar starter. There are so many great alternatives which could be used in a restaurant of this quality. We did appreciate the extra regular bread for my partner (he def would not have enjoyed the hard gf offering). Otherwise a great experience. Drinks, main food and staff were amazing. Definitely recommend

Very good service. The nicest waiters in all Inverness, we felt very welcome there. They make us a cocktail that was not in the menu and was amazing and the food was very good.

Me and my partner had the pleasure of dining at Prime Steak and Seafood on 23rd of September, and it was truly a delightful experience. The muscles, scallops, lobster thermidor and fish were all exceptional – perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and presented beautifully. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really stood out was the outstanding service. All requests were executed gracefully and with the smile. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and patient, making sure every detail of our evening was just right. Overall, it was a memorable meal, and we look forward to returning soon!

Not the greatest experience in a rather expensive steak house. Everything is overspiced and insanely HOT!!!

Our party of four was extremely disappointed. Two of us had the lamb, which was tough and gristly and only of mediocre flavor.. Two had the sea bass, another extremely disappointing dish. Portions were tiny, and the potato sides were undercooked. Our appetizers came after the main dishes. Bummer. Our worst meal in Scotland. We do not recommend

The restaurant was full and very busy. Despite the stress, the staff were very friendly and courteous. I had lamb with mashed potatoes with mint and greens. It was totally delicious, still thinking about it days later makes me want to go back and eat it again.

Start upstairs at the Wee Bar. Best cocktails. Drinks at Prime are good as well but nothing mind blowing. Prime starters: •mussels and •scallops ~ both were fantastic and promising of a great main course. Sunday roast- prime rib. Cooked for a senior residence - overly done and powdery. Disappointed. Dessert: •chocolate coconut and •banana bread cake. The coconut tasted toxic - we weren’t given any explanation after we told our staff. Don’t eat it. Staff are abundant but never at your table consistently. They are all knowledgable and friendly. Wouldn’t return as there are so many fantastic places Inverness has to offer.

Two outstanding experiences at Prime, one for lunch and one for dinner. There's a reason why everyone we spoke to around the Inverness area enthusiastically recommended this excellent restaurant. The food is inventive, fresh, and generously portioned. Several people mentioned that the filet was not to be missed, and it will be one of the best steaks you've ever experienced. Or, if you prefer your meat on the uncooked side, the tartare is more than enough for two. As a semi-vegetarian, I'm in love with the feta parcels and spiced chick peas. You say you like creamy, French-style cheesecake? Are you in for a treat! One bit of advice for Americans: Prime can only legally serve 25ml liquor pours, and a standard American shot is about 44ml. Just setting expectations. :) Enjoy your fabulous meal!

Yes that was just what we needed. Very good quality food very good selection. Good value for good food . For which I don't mind paying for. If we are ever back in this area yes would go back without question

I've visited this place a few times and the food has always been amazing. It's good quality and really delicious. The staff are nice and always provide great service. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Very good lobster dinner, quick service

Unfortunately a disappointment. The good reviews are incomprehensible. Extremely crowded, crowded and loud. Guests are processed very quickly. A cozy dinner is not possible. Friendly staff. Eating is like that. The oysters were not cleaned cleanly, so there were broken shells in the meat. The sea bass only had a small fillet. Too expensive for the performance offered. Unfortunately not recommended.

We had the duck, and although the flavors were on point, the duck was a bit chewy and tough. The side dish was my favorite. It was a take on a small shepherds pie, filled with caramelized onions, perfectly cooked sausage, peas, and bite sized pieces of potatoes. So delicious!

Service was slow (over an hour for the main course), sea bass turned into duck (the waiter pressed the wrong button), my lamb was gristly, fatty and flavourless. They credited one glass of beer for getting the order wrong. No, we will not be going back.

First time here- and have to say we had an absolutely stunning meal here. We don’t often treat ourselves to meals out, but when we have done of late (elsewhere), its been disappointing either down to service, food being not great, or just general lack of value for money- happy to report that Prime ticked all the boxes, we spent more than we would otherwise have done normally, but absolutely worth every penny. Hands down the best steak we’ve had in Inverness, presentation beautiful, cooked and taste to perfection, and service impeccable. Server Csaba friendly but not overbearing, and very efficient. Recommend the strawberry loch cocktail if you’re looking for a refreshing drink to accompany your meal! Will definitely be back again and will recommend to friends.

While passing through Inverness, we decided to have lunch at Prime Steak & Seafood, a great choice, a very simple but pleasant atmosphere, the restaurant a little untidy, but nothing that could compromise our stay. Polite and attentive people, ready to explain the dishes on the menu. Delicious and well served food, quick service. It's a good option if you want to have lunch in Inverness at Highland. Fair price. $$$

The server was super nice and helpful in regards to my food intolerances. I can't have onions and she was helpful in investigating which dishes were safe for me. I eneded up getting the wagyu burger with just lettuce, mayo, and cheese and it was absolutely delicious! They cooked the patty perfectly and the fries were also really good. My husband got a steak sandwich that he said was also really good. We also had a view of the castle so it was nice to eat and look out the window. Overall I would recommend stopping in if you're in the area and looking for someplace to eat.
