County Kebab in Highland

So glad I found this kabab shop. Best kababs I think I’ve ever had in the uk. Staff are all extremely and genuinely polite and helpful. Very welcoming and always go the extra mile whenever myself or my family are in, fantastic with our four young children whilst we wait. The food is exceptional and always prepared fresh and quick without long waits. Their lamb is off the chart good I must say and their coleslaw I always ask for extra as it’s fantastic. Very well priced and the portion sizes are great. Atmosphere is brilliant. Shop is clean and everything can be seen cooked in front of you and prepared the same. If I’m not getting a takeaway delivery and go into the shop I pass a fish and chip shop, an Indian takeaway, a Chinese and another kabab shop on my way to County Kabab as it’s definitely worth it to get such great food and value for money especially when i have a family of six to feed. Decided to put this review on tonight as went to their website as I’m about to order food for my wife and I and thought I’d give these guys an honest shout out as the whole team deserve it.

Tried many before, that doner is on different level, love it on everything they have.

Used to be top quality, recently poor quality with mechelin star prices.

This once top-notch takeout has plummeted to rock-bottom under the new ownership. Prices have soared, and I'm 100% certain I just paid ten quid for some frozen Birds Eye chicken nuggets.

Now as a local guide situated over 469 miles away I didn't expect to be reviewing this place, but seeing as I just spawned in nearby I decided to give it a go as I had been told it was "Positively busting and blowing" by friends I'm afraid to say it is no longer that highly esteemed kind of establishment and have changed my spawn to be a lot further away. Get a Grip

📉I used to love this place, but sadly, it's gone downhill since new management took over. The quality of the food has dropped significantly—what used to be fresh and flavourful now tastes bland and greasy, like it was cooked from frozen. The portions are smaller, and are by far more expensive. Service has also taken a hit; staff seem disinterested if you put an order in person. It's disappointing to see a once-great spot lose its charm. I won’t be coming back.

Food is always really good, often go in for a mixed bursa, the staff are always friendly enough, the food doesn't take too long, price is very fair for the size of portion, definitely the best kebab in Ross shire

Mixed kebab was great, best I’ve ever had and a generous portion size. Meat was very tender and tasty. Good banter from staff and girl on till was lovely.

Bland, tasteless, hot sauce wasn't anything sauce...... and to boot I've been spitting rusty water out my ring continously since an hour after eating it...... safe to say I won't be back, mostly because I don't know of I'll ever get off this toilet.

Mustafa is a very decent and generous person. Prices are very good. There is no problem in terms of taste and halalness. If you're passing nearby, be sure to stop by for a decent meal.

Food is terrific and the owner is most nice. Shish kebab is great (I took the pic after having a few pieces- it was more) Definitely recommend!!

I have done the NC500 twice now and I have had pizza from this place both times. Very good price and exceptional food. The quality is top notch with a crispy base and amazing quality toppings. I would recommend this outlet to anyone in the area.

Lovely food at not too bad a price

Just ordered a 12" chicken tikka pizza absolute nostalgic. Taste brings me back to my childhood. Really tasty and top notch service. But only take cash lol

I've been living in the US for 17 years and returned to Scotland this year. I regularly had kabab and Halal food while living in the US. Popped into County Kebab tonight and ordered a chicken and shish kebab. OH..MY..GOD! It was incredible. Knocks the socks off the garbage I'd been eating in the States. Real pieces of delicious tender lamb and the lovely caramelised chicken.

We had chips and pizza. It was good and worth the price.

First time here for us and we were very pleased with our meals. I had lovely fish & chips and my husband really enjoyed his mixed kebab. It's a good job that they don't deliver to Garve! ;) We'll be back!

No faults, had chicken and a cheese burger, taste good,

Ordered a Donner Kebab. Got given a box of meat, a box of salad, a cold unsliced pitta bread and tubs of sauce. Asked for a fork to discover there was none. Asked for my money back and a fork appeared. Meat was warm, not hot, and left a greasy after taste. Chips are absolutely awful. Used place 3 or 4 times now but doubt we'll go back.

Shocking !! Absolute rip off and didn't get what I ordered any way

Das Kebab, der Salat, die Soßen war alles lecker und gut verpackt. In Deutschland sieht ein Döner Kebab ganz anders aus aber das heißt ja nicht, dass es immer so sein muss. Mit war das ganze nicht scharf genug, aber vielleicht hätte ich das bei der Bestellung ändern können. Ist nur etwas schwierig wenn man im Ausland ist.

Their website or app is not maintained so I checked their Facebook page and they only said they would not be open Monday the 8.5, so I expected them to be open on Tuesday the 9th, arranged appoint meant to able to get kebabs traveled 50 miles to find the place closed at 4.30 when they open at 4! no notice on door or on the Facebook page so they do not care about their customers, even did no reply to my post that I was disappointed about lack of communication! Also why a kebab shop should not open because the pizza machine not working is beyond me.

I take some time food from here because I always take halal food 🍲 this way I love this place

Having never in my 59 years had a kebab I thought I'd try one tonight. Looked at the menu and Having had a shish kebab at a family bbq I ordered the shish kebab. I expected it in a pitta bread with salad and a mint sauce. What I actually got was 7 or 8 lumps of burnt something in a box with the uncut pitta on top and a box of lettuce onions and coleslaw in a separate box with a tub of chilli sauce and a tub of garlic mayo. I thought shish kebab was minced lamb in a pitta but I was wrong. I now know why I waited 59 years!!!! Never ever again. On the plus side the coleslaw was nice.

12” Pizza was very poor with very little toppings or cheese, was still hungry so ended up spending more money on a Chinese, I’ll know the next time to avoid county kebab

Amazing chicken and all food fresh and tasty every time

I have been getting takeaways from this amazing place for few years now and they just get better and better ever time. They put a lot of care and passion into there food and that's what makes them different to other places. Would highly recommend this place and I look forward to my next order . Waited 54 minutes for delivery on Monday night. Only to be given totally wrong order of food. When I phoned to explain about the wrong order , they were so rude and also handed the phone to a customer (woman ) to talk to me as he said he couldn't speak ENGLISH!!..the woman apologised to me and said she didn't work there.. He then hanged phone up.. Called back second time & got some woman called Geraldine who was just as ignorant as her boss and just didn't know what she was talking about would never order from them again or recommend them .

Always fresh delicious food , served hot and super tasty. Great menu selection too. Lovely lady usually on the counter. Our favourite place for a kebab for sure

Great food, great price and great staff. Been multiple times food made quickly normally we have large orders. Had delivery a few time all arrived within good time and still hot. Never been let down yet.

Great food, great staff and very fair pricing. All meals are prepared fresh and in sight. The pizzas are amazing, but the mixed bursa kebab is something else. Can't recommend this place enough.

Usually County is alright. Decent food for a decent price. However the last couple times they have been late. Today, I ordered around 18:25 and I did not receive my food until 20:10. It was lukewarm at best. I had already called at 19:40 (which is plenty of time after the 45 minutes they quoted when first placing my order) and they told me it would be 5-10 minutes. Over and hour and a half of waiting (more then double what they said) to get lukewarm food. If I knew it would take that long I would of ordered from elsewhere.

Looked nice, big portions too. However, a doner kebab should taste of spiced lamb. The meat was poor quality and tasteless.

Stunning food and the service is great, used to be a bit of a wait but recently its been spot on. Calzone and the mixed kebab are the buisness.

Over rated! We ordered their chicken tikka pizza, it hardly contained any chicken chunks.

Never been disappointed with the quality.

Their doner meat is dripping in grease - completely overpowers any taste of it with all the fat. Chips are fairly bland and pale, had better out of the oven. I would recommend the pizzas but think I will be going elsewhere next time.

Excellent food and customer service. Only drawback right now is cash payments during covid times.

We have persisted with you for a while but everytime I have found that there is something lacking,I write this review as I am looking at my most recent and last order,the operator was rude and rushed,I had to phone back to make sure my order was correct,I understand that sometimes u are busy but that shouldn't make standards slip,the food I have received is bland and tasteless,please stay away from here,locals say its best kebab in town,thats because its only kebab in town,much better places to eat if you are into Chinese Indian,and much friendlier staff too

Had our first experience tonight eating chicken and donor kebabs and chicken pakora 😋 Read the reviews before driving from ardersier and it was definitely worth it, everything so tasty😍 Great portion sizes all fresh made donor came off the spit👌 we will certainly be returning, THANKYOU for such a tasty munch Definitely recommend !

Our favourite place for a Saturday night takeaway since they opened. Consistently brilliant quality and great value for money. Pizzas are excellent. The medium Doner kebab is massive - fasting for a day now so I can try the large one 😁.

One of the best takeaway Kebabs I've eaten in a long time. Keep it up folks. Highly recommended.
