Pride of Balti in Newport

Absolutely disgusting wait time order every Saturday,but this week over an hour and half wait,you’d think being a loyal customer they wouldn’t take the mick but the quit frankly I’m disappointed and I had to cancel my order and won’t be ordering anything from her again !!!

Food was awful, cold food, old poppadoms soft, bread burnt on one side.

Hi. My first order today. Was really disappointed. Onion bhajis were burnt. The sheek kebab wasn't the great. Keema naan didn't have much meat. Paid for two extra mint sauce. Ended with foil container with mint sauce in. Which wasnt sealed. Mint sauce everywhere

Fantastic Indian within risca, best around, I’ve been ordering for years and never had an issue, customer service has always been brilliant, food always arrives within allocated time frame, fresh and piping hot, prices are more than reasonable, love being able to use the online system/app as well, makes things a lot easier, highly recommend!

Ordered food via just eat, told delivery would be here at 17.50. Food did eventually turn up at 18.15, the lady did apologise for being late, as she left she slammed my front gate which bounced back open... As expected food was cold, chips were hard and undercooked,there was also a carton opened in the bag and all was covered in a sauce of some sorts. Over £26 on food that you have to re heat and put in the bin.... not a good service at all... won't be wasting my money there again.

Used to order from here a lot but wont be using it again after my latest experience. Ordered at 5 for delivery at half 7. Food arrived at quarter to nine with a broken tray of rice covering the rest of the dishes and luke warm at best! Phoned to ask where order was at 8 to be told it was cooked and waiting to be delivered yet arrived 45 minutes later so obviously had just been sat on shelf for all that time. Disappointed loyal customer will be giving my money to another business from now on!

Arrived cold hardly any chicken in the curry it was like they rationed thier food lol paid £35 it didn't even go round 3 children and 2 adults I just ended up eating the nan bread to dip with the curry sauce shocking.

Highly Recommend this Indian takeaway. Delicious Food and very Friendly Staff. Well done keep up the good work.

In our view this is the best local Indian takeaway.Food is always delicious whatever we have ,have never had a bad meal from here. Tonight chicken tikka masala,chicken madras,saag paneer,onion bahjees,chutney tray,keema rice,delicious as always.Arrives on time ,hot and good portions. As always,excellent meal,never disappointed from here.Staff always welcoming and friendly.Very pleased as always with everything. Highly recommended.

All ways order from pride of balti friendly staff reasonably quick to get your order, vindaloo is fire love it. Always enjoyed every meal I've had from this takeaway my go to for a nice indian.

Best curry ever tasted. Keema rice was awesome. Naan bread was lovely too. Can't wait for next time. Best in Risca by far

Food quality is superb. Everything tastes so fresh. We wouldn't go anywhere else in Risca or surrounding areas. All the staff are very friendly. Raud the owner is great and will help you decide which curry to choose. I would recommend to everyone.

Where do I start this place has enormous amount of quality seeing all positive review I am not surprised this place deserves to be recognised the staff are so friendly the drivers are so friendly I collected my meal and the place was so busy it looked we'll organised and all staff dedicated to their job well done see you soon.

Super currys. Try from the chef recommendations the top 5 In the list are the ones I keep going back too. Super taste with some fantastic spices.. Ask for garlic rice with peas. Not on menu but worth spicing thing up a little

Beautiful authentic Indian cuisine, I have been eating from this establishment for a couple of weeks now and it is miles better than all the takeaways and Indian places in risca, the staff are always very nice and my food is always tasty and on time

Just had my first take away from Pride of Balti I can safely say that it was one of the best meat madras I have had for a long time nice chunks of tender meat and a very tasty sauce My partner had a chicken tika masalla and was just as impressed

Start by saying this place makes the best curry dish about. It's the garlic chilli chicken and is absolutely yummy.

New owners doing a wide choice on new Curry's. Chef recommendations are fantastic.

Brilliant food yet awkward to buy. On just eat the minimum order has gone up to £20 which is too much for me and my partner so we go elsewhere. Cannot find their app on the play store, and their website doesn't take card payment so if you don't have cash you have to go without. It's a shame as it's generally very nice food.

This is the best Indian around, the food tastes outstanding and the driver is always friendly. I keep coming back to this outstanding place again and again.

Had a takeaway tonight the tikka masala tasted sour (gone off) the bahjee were just frozen ones they used to have lovely homemade crispy red onion bahjees the rest was ok but put me off as like I said it was sour. Not the pride of Balti I have gone to for years massive let down only ordered here as it usually stunning. Such a shame good job risca is full of Indian food !

Ordered our meal and it was between 50-70 minutes for delivery which we didn't mind. Arrived within 30 minutes. Pleased with the service. My son found his chicken korma luke warm and the container for my chicken balti managed to get squashed in the bag which meant it spilled over the chips and other things in the bag. However, the food tasted nice and we managed to salvage most of it. Would recommend the Pride of Balti.

Ok but was a bit disappointed with my Balti.

The meal was absolutely delicious however it was delivered an hour later than the time given and was warm as opposed to piping hot. We would order again despite these issues

first time here , loved it all food delicious , kids loved the kids meals instead of having to have a curry

Been going to this take away for over 15 years and it’s slowly gone badly downhill! Delivery service is appalling and just discovered to my horror it’s been awarded a 1 food hygiene rating! That’s the end of our custom!

Keema nan ok That's it Curry . Mixed balti bland and tasteless Byriani . Overcooked and tasteless sauce Onion bhaji . Ok Mint sauce was lovely. Best part of the meal. I would not order from here again. If this was there best. It was shocking. If this was there worst They need to up there game There's to much choice around To be this bad

Had always had great curries from here except for a meal in June where it turned up over an hour early (when person who wanted it was in work) then it was brought back reheated and terrible. To be fair restaurant has offered a free replacement meal which we havent taken them up on yet. Ordered a meal the other day via Just Eat and it was back to how it used to be. On time - flavour good, meal hot. Only odd thing was special fried rice - undercooked rings of carrot in it?

Thank goodness - its back on track - had an awful meal in June - offered a free meal which we havent taken yet as we have to phone and needed to order this meal online so via Just Eat. Great curries etc. this time - only odd thing was special fried rice - it had undercooked (from frozen?) large carrot rings. Apart from that all fine - would like finely chopped fresh carrots next time if they have to be in the rice.

Chicken tikka masala and the chicken Korma sauces were very watery and didn't really taste of anything.

Placed an order with you, it said the restaurant declined the order, so ordered from another Indian. The other Indian delivered the food and then a few minutes later your delivery driver came with the Indian which was declined.

I've never left a review for any establishment before as have never had a memorable experience however, I have to say that we have now had three consecutive meals from the Pride of Balti as we have found the meals to be absolutely stunning. They are so tasty especially the Madras chicken curry. Well portioned and oh so moorish. The service we have received on all 3 occasions has been exceptional and the delivery drivers are friendly . We have finally found our new curry house. Thankyou to the Chef and all the staff at the Pride of Balti from the Harris family.
