We were immediately struck by such a warm welcome that we got from Mehran which set the theme for the whole evening. We loved everything about the restaurant from the superb décor, fabulous food and super-friendly service. Mehran could not have done more to make our stay memorable, in particular noticing it was one of the group’s birthday, so it was really kind of him and much appreciated that he went out of his way to sort a small surprise for him.

Told we have to sit outside with 2 young children. 90 minutes later and still waiting for food, when it eventually arrived it was cold and extremely average. Women's toilets broken, they are having to use the mens. I wouldn't recommend to anyone

Visited here tonight as a family of seven. The food was very nice and well cooked. Calum was very nice and the service was much better when he came on. The only reason for my 4 star is that children drinks very small and watered down for the cost of them.

The whole experience took 2hrs - really not on when dining with young children lost most of our evening. The service was painfully slow and staff sauntering around , it wasn’t busy so no excuse. Staff had to be reminded about our children’s deserts that were ordered 35-40mins before hand. A shame as was a go to evening meal for us annually for our family holiday but we won’t be back

Visited for my Birthday and Prezzo spoilt me with a bottle of Prosecco as a Birthday 🎂 treat as I signed up to Prezzo membership no cost worth £30. Food was Excellent and service second to none with a french twist Alexiane.

Had a lovely experience. Took my 3 gradsons. Plenty of choice for the children. Really good value on the child's menu. My food was lovely too. I thought it was all in all good value, was delighted when I got the bill as eaten at other places and its cost a lot more. I'm gluten free and had plenty to choose from which was another great bonus. When I visit torquay again this is where I will eat !!

We visited Prezzo Torquay on Monday 1st July which was my birthday. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and the food was great! Thank you for my complimentary birthday dessert and the unexpected limoncellos for the ladies!

What a sad experience for our family… In the entrance the manager informed us that we would have to wait 1 hour to order our food which we totally understood and agreed. We waited patiently to order our drinks as we saw all the waitress busy, the restaurant had loads of tables to be clean etc, so after 20 min waiting we could order a wine which was brought fast but the glasses weren’t polished properly and they didn’t serve it as well, which was fair as they were busy. We ordered a pizza which was really tasty, but the lasagnas were tasteless, reminded us cheap frozen lasagna and for the price we were paying we had to ask with respect for the manager to change for us. First no one came to check on us , so we had to get their attention which was even more uncomfortable as no one would like to have your family dinner destroyed by complains… and when the manager came to our table we explained the situation and he said “ have you had Italian food before? Because I’ve been working here for 6 years and no one never complained about the lasagna before”. Well with this rude response my husband kindly said that he lived in Italy and we all always go to Italian restaurant as it’s our favourite cuisine, so he asked to swap the lasagna for something else like another pizza maybe? And the manager didn’t even reply or asked if we wanted to see the menu again, he took the plates from our table and left without saying anything else. We saw the chef coming from the kitchen with a mad face and all the staff talking surely about us , that was extremely uncomfortable and after around 10/15 min the manager brought us 2 pizzas and through them on the table and left without saying a thing, didn’t came to check again.. they gave the check to us before we finished our food and the check had service charge which we just noticed because we checked. So we asked for it to be removed and we explained how bad we felt with the whole situation. My family works with customer service and we would never treat our customers in the way we’ve been treated in this restaurant, so sad because the place is beautiful and the wine was amazing too…

Not happy so over priced lasagne £17 no salad no garlic bread had to pay £6 for 3 small slices of Nan bread wont be back any time soon

Had a wonderful birthday meal here yesterday. Lovely friendly staff, we're very accommodating, and the food was amazing. Had a cheeky cocktail too which was lovely.

The food was ok. Went with my other half and two children. The children were given crayons and an activity sheet, which doubled up as their menu to draw on, which kept them quiet. Adults had pasta dishes and the children ate a pizza.

Prezzo always serve good quality, tasty food . The staff are always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is also very nice being a former bank premises with high ceilings it feels quite grand when you go in. One of the nicest in Torquay.

We had a bottomless brunch here, I couldn't fault the service! A good selection of pizzas and the cocktails are high-quality! Very good value for money! We got served often and so ended up having 5 cocktails each and a bottle of prosecco for the table! Definitely recommend and would come back again soon!

Stunning place, great service and food on point as always.

As you might expect a rejuvenated old and character full building, with high ceilings and beautiful decor. Big menu and comfortable seating that offers a full range of dining opportunities. Staff helpful, polite and welcoming. A great pizza, shared as a light early evening dinner before visiting the theatre. A definite positive experience. Good use of vouchers (Tesco's) made it a really good value evening. Toilets clean and functioning

Got our Starters Wrong But were More than Happy to Make up for it Too Much Spaghetti Not Enough Meat But was an OK meal Staff were Very Good 🙂

Had the best spaghetti bolognese. I was with a group of four we all had something different and all our meals were very nice and arrived to us hot. Gary delivered excellent service. We ate here twice during our stay. Highly recommend this Prezzo probably one of the best I've been in. Cocktails a bit overpriced unless you are doing the bottomless brunch in which case excellent value.

Food not great. Restaurant very dark & pricey, could hardly see the food in front of you, would not go back.

I know it's a Prezzo but this was a great experience the service was spot on and the food amazing. If I had to have a little moan it would be the price of the wine. We were served a Gavi which is the same that I buy in a national supermarket but instead of £10.95 it was £35 a bottle. I understand they have overheads but 200% mark up is a bit steep.

Came for a valentines dinner, really lovely atmosphere and food. However the service really let it down, our table was not ready when we showed up even after we had booked a month in advance. Whilst eating we received no check backs as well as not seeing if we needed any more drinks. When it came to the end of our meal we decided against dessert as we had sat there for 15 minutes with our plates stacked it wasn’t until we got the attention of a staff member to come over where we asked for the bill.

I'm sad to update my review, but this place has seriously gone downhill. we ate here recently and couldn't believe how bad it's declined. We ordered a pizza and lasagne, the pizza was flavourless bland and soggy. The lasagne portion was so much smaller than previous visits and again so bland with no flavour it may aswell have been a frozen mass produced microwave meal. Staff were still as attentive as they have always been, but the food has really taken a dive . With all the complaints I heard just on our short visit, I know it wasn't just us unhappy with our food.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in town now. Came a year ago for my birthday and was very disappointed! I heard about a change in management so gave it another go and WOW what a turnaround! Wonderful ambience and calmer atmosphere. The food was fantastic, freshly made so worth a little wait. Party of 6 and we were all delighted with our meals. Staff were also great, being efficient happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, especially if you have a voucher or deal.

I decided to give this establishment one more try after having two previous disastrous experiences. However due to a family members birthday I felt that as it was her choice, I'd give it another go. What a difference the third time around, we were met and attended to by a highly professional and attentive young lady called FAITH. Nothing was too much for this young, food was excellent, service was second to none and her attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you Prezzo for not only getting it right; but also employing professionals at last.

Please don’t go it’s terrible please read the old reviews , it should be wonderful , but it’s not don’t your money the staff will be rude , as one can tell you . One has to wait at least 20 Minutes for A drink , if they have the manners to look at you , the food is ok if are willing to wait a hour.

Popped in for a birthday lunch as they had a gluten free menu for some of our party. The staff were friendly and the food was nice and prompt. Plus when we asked for a cake with a candle, they happily provided.

Great place to eat, helpful friendly staff. We each had a pizza, all were pretty dry, bases like cardboard and scant topping. Disappointing for the price.

We were looking for somewhere good to eat - and this did the job. Service was quick, and the food well presented and tasty. A good selection of drinks. Only down side was a) their fryer was not working which reduced the menu a little and b) their insistence on playing music so loud to ensure you couldn't speak with each other.

Food is not very tasty and it looks like it's been heated in the microwave .I don't recommend at all.

Went out for a nice dinner before going to the theatre, this didn’t happen. It took 20 minutes to order a drink then a further 15 minutes to order food. It took over 45 minutes for the food to arrive of which we had to ask where it was. We then wanted to pay by cash and told we couldn’t as they don’t take it! Absolutely disgusted by the staffs attitude and we were very close to walking out. None of us will be returning.

Brilliant night and nice food (something we wanted was off the menu could of said before hand) customer service was good? In and out in 45 minutes. "Staff should always remember not all customer drink alcohol" Still Definitely recommend

Very disappointed. Food was way below average for everyone. Brushetta was a thin piece of brittle hard flatbread, the tomatoes and onion were not finely chopped with a few scatterings of pesto sayce on top of it. Not good. A young girl was sat on her own at a table obviously her parent was a staff member, she kept banging on the service door and was then returned to her table. We will not be returning.

First, the good bits... A really smart former bank. It really couldn't have been converted better. A really nice waitress who couldn't have been more helpful. Clean toilets. All the starters were good. Now, the not-so-good bits... The restaurant was cold and draughty, with an external door that didn't close properly. One portion of carbonara came out hot and one was cold. They were both rather dry, but the waitress replaced the cold one and brought extra sauce. The chicken of the marsala chicken must have been cooked much earlier, because it was extremely dry. Another main dish arrived with a horrible sauce. All-in-all it was an experience we won't want to repeat.

Shocking really, ordered on just eat and spent £50 for two of us and you get hardly anything for your money even had to make food after because we weren’t even remotely full. Quality of food is just gone massively downhill used to like it there. Go Avantis in Torquay way better value for money.

Booked a table easily enough online, but a bit annoying that walk ins were given a better and quieter table than we had! Drinks took a little while to arrive but food was good and filling. The guy who served us was very polite, warm and helpful. Good experience.

This place is an “Italian Wetherspoons” at best. Utterly terrible cheap Pre-prepared food. The manager was superb and did her best to help appease us and didn’t charge us the first time round; as long as we promised to go back again. We did oblige and sadly it was still woeful. To the point we both felt ill through the night. Stale oils; slow service, chicken that was leathery, badly cooked pasta, flavourless sauces and fillings, and my pizza was spiked with hot sauce on our second visit (nice one cook). it seemed like the kitchen staff were sabotaging the place or clearly didn’t have a clue. We paid for our poor food the second time; but we will never use this establishment again! TERRIBLE!! save your money.

We have waited here for over half an hour to be served. The place is half full. I had to approach the manager in an assertive manner to get our drinks and food. But they haven’t arrived yet and are left on the bar ignored. It’s chaotic as the diners are not prioritised and everybody is looking around for their food. The service buzzer seems dutifully ignored by the staff. Everybody’s table candle is lit, guess what? Not ours! I used to tecommend this place. Well not any longer. Forty five minutes for one plate to arrive. It took another five minutes to get the other two plates. One of us is vegetarian and chose a vegetarian calzone they served a meat one which, honestly is unforgivable. As we had waited so long they ate meat! Desert or rather deserted is another story. Friends, Romans and countrymen avoid this place like the plague. I cannot understand why they keep admitting people when they clearly cannot cope.

This restaurant is average with poor service which it makes up slightly with nice Pizza (once you get it!). We visited this restaurant whilst away and the service was extreme disappointing. It was exceptionally slow with starters arriving before drinks (and when asked for our drinks with our food was told they are in the queue). When the mains arrived they had forgotten one of the meals so one of our party had to wait for theirs which came once we had finished. Then the deserts - again the cheesecake came out but the “Sundeas” were prepared behind the bar so that came 10 mins later. When it arrived it was basically and ice cream with a few strawberries and then squirt cream that looked like it had been put on by a 5 year old - how this can be passed off as a desert costing nearly £8 I don’t know! Would not rush back

This was our 5th visit to this branch. We visit once a year on our anniversary weekend. This year it was shocking and totally ruined our evening. We were seated staight away but then left for ages before drinks orders were taken. My drink arrived but not my husbands. Another server came to take our food order but never mentioned the drink. It turnt up a good 7mins after mine. Starters arrived quickly but after an hour wait we had to chase up our mains. We felt like were being ignored. Not once did anyone inform us of delays or apologise for the wait. It was then another 15mins before the food finally arrived. The pizza did not look very nice and had very little topping. Our server was rude, very short and slammed down the drinks. We had to keep on asking for another drink, water. and the bill. Declined pudding as the evening was ruined. There is no pleasent atmosphere anymore. All staff looked miserable and not very smart. The chef was in and out of the kitchen every 5 mins. Customers were left waiting, several delivery drivers were backing up in the corner waiting for ages. This used to be a really lovely restaurant but now it's gone right down hill. They have taken on far to much. This is not what we have come to expect from prezzo. We won't be returning if this is what it's become.

We visited on the 26th of August and I need to be honest - Come with time, because if you’re looking for a quick service restaurant, you won’t find it here. In shift, plenty of staff were on the floor, but all seemed not to know what they were doing. Louise (in a cream shirt) was everywhere, doing a bit of everything to ensure that the service was getting done. I was about to ask to cancel my order but thanks to Louise and her fantastic service (even though under clear pressure) we ended up staying and ordering desserts. Thank you again, Louise. Ana

We were seated straight away, then soon got our drinks and food ordered, within about 15 mins these came (starters) out and then about 45 mins later of waiting after finishing our starters, they then took our plates away. Then 5-10 mins later our mains came out. We had to ask for out puddings to come out asap due to being here for for about 1 hour maybe a bit more and our parking was due to run out. We allowed 2 hours here and was quiet when we joined. Then about 10 mins after food finished they brought out desserts in a takeaway box and bill given. Staff are lovely it’s just a bit slow and felt a bit forgotten lol

Terrible service, some of the worst we’ve ever had. A simple order of drinks took 20 mins to arrive. Food over an hour. Waiting staff unenthusiastic and bored. No apologies. Other diners waited even longer than us. Front of house man hid behind the bar instead of engaging with annoyed customers. Very nearly didn’t pay all the bill and certainly wasn’t going to order dessert as we’d have been there till 2 in the morning.

We ordered from just eat for a celebratory meal. We were willing to look past the 1.5hr delivery time until half didn’t turn up and half turned up cold. To add insult to injury, no one answered the phone for 50 minutes and then we gave up. The pasta that came was bland and Luke warm. The chips and pizza were cold. The parts of the order they missed, meant 2 people have gone hungry. Disgraceful service. We spent £130 and got about £70 of it. I had to ring another branch to makesure it wasn’t a company issue but they couldn’t help either. Will never be ordering or visiting them again.

Normally when we have eaten at a prezzos the service has been brilliant, but we had one last night in the Torquay one and it was awful, the waitress took our order of olives and the forgot to bring them when we ordered the main it took ages when we wanted a dessert the same waitress went off to get the menu and didn't come back for 30 mins whe we asked for bill apparently we could not get a receipt ,so won't be going there again

Unfortunately I can’t give zero … I came in and waited ten minutes to seat and they were 5 on the floor in a non busy evening The waitress repeated three times my order and she bought the wrong drink but actually all the waiting staff seemed with zero training and just messing around with no clue about their I ordered crab and lobster ravioli with velvety tomato and lobster bisque and chives I got ravioli with watery double cream ,cherry to stand spinach got just £ 17.95 I ordered steamed veggies and got a little bit of broccoli and a lot of garden peas that are not veggies I are the ravioli because I was angry… big mistake :( I asked to speak with the manager and he did not show up …after 20 minutes I left the restaurant AVOID IT

Not the greatest visit, food just ok, very poor value for money, didn’t might the wait for meals but the general service was terrible couldn’t even get a glass of water or order any more drinks, cleared our mains and were not even asked if we wanted desserts, just paid up and left

We can't fault the food as it was good. One of ordered something with mash then 35minutes after ordering We were told that they had run out of mash. However the service was poor. We waited 75 minutes for our meals to arrive without one mention from staff at any time that there would be a delay. Everyone was waiting such a long time and when they were brought their food, there was no apology about the long wait. We were basically left and ignored for 75 minutes whilst waiting. Staff lacked hospitality skills and communication was poor. For this reason our experience was not enjoyable and we won't go again.

Table booked 7.30pm main course eventually came out at 9pm, seemed to be very under staffed food was mediocre not the usual standard very dissapointed, came across like the resturant was in trouble

Took my grandchildren for dinner straight after school, there was only one other couple in we had to wait over a hour for food several people came in after us and got served,we had to ask where was our food,we payed 2.5 hours on parking and had to take the kids desert's out in a box to get back to the car because we had waited so long,the staff where lovely but let down by the waiting

Everyone enjoyed their meal and the food was cooked to a T. However, it was a little difficult getting the servers’ attention for the bill or more food, and often times they came round to check in on us at moments we didn’t particularly need them—but that’s not much of a complaint. Great atmosphere and well-spaced tables.

We were refused a table Saturday afternoon. it is a large restaurant only 5 tables taken out of at least 20 “ there is a coach party arriving “ not true as we were next door for an hour and no coach turned up. Poor I won’t be going back

Food was nothing special, I have had better at other Prezzo’s Food took forever to arrive and it took two asks for the staff to tell us the kitchen had it ready…after 40minutes when all they were making was pasta and a pizza. (when the restaurant was practically empty) Drinks were over priced and the cocktails were completely un-flavoursome. If all that went well it would have been a lovely experience but it didn’t… so I would avoid going to the one in torkquay. Real shame!

Took the kids to lunch here today. Bit of a treat before our holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had no complaints in that regard. One son ordered the truffle burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The other son had the lobster and crab pasta parcels, and other than the amount, he enjoyed it. My daughter and I, on the other hand, ordered the oak smoked penne pasta. The menu boasts "Oak-Smoked Salmon Penne Flaked oak-smoked salmon cooked in a creamy chilli, tomato and basil sauce served with penne and tenderstem broccoli". What we actually got was pasta in a fairly average sauce, with tinned salmon 😳 Really?? Tinned salmon?? If I wanted tinned salmon and pasta, I could have saved myself the bother, and the cash, and made it at home! It's a shame because we have previously enjoyed the place but this just isn't good enough 😕
