The coffee was very good but we had to wait about half an hour for it was very unsatisfactory especially as the cafe was not particularly busy. Also, while we used the displayed password, the WiFi was not working.

Slightly mixed experience. A little too noisy and busy. Still, the sausage roll was excellent, and the coffee great.

Tasteless, dry and over priced brueno cake! Then the owner acts very professional with their reply.

A lovely little cafe with a quiet hidden garden area in back. Had a coffee and a bacon sandwich for breakfast, both very nice, as were the girls on staff. I recommend it!

All the staff were absolutely amazing par the manager, Phil was extremely rude and uncourteous toward fellow customers and the staff on the floor with him, 2 stars for the service from the other staff, they were amazing however. It’s unfortunate the managers bad attitude brings the whole business down :(

This cafe is getting 1 star from me. The food I had on this occasion was actually REALLY good but I was let down by the atmosphere created by the staff and one person in particular. When ordering, I was told there was a 20-minute wait on all hot drinks and that the food item I initially wanted to order (one on a huge blackboard behind the till) was actually not being served and the sign should have been taken down prior to service. Not all that fussed about hot drinks, I ordered my food which came in good time and was delicious! All sounds fine so far right? Well, this is where I have to explain why I don't think I will go back. The staff all seemed a little glum and I couldn't really understand why until out crawled the source of misery: a bald man with glasses and an attitude, who stormed around like the boss (I assume he is the boss and I apologise if he isn't), seemed to be talking to the young women working there with zero respect. Now I didn't hear what he was saying to them but you could tell that the girls were not enjoying the interactions. The one conversation I did hear was one he had with the lady making the hot drinks. Talking to her, clearly angry about something. I was appalled by the way he had been speaking to his staff and the way he spoke to his partner was disgusting. Terrible behaviour and to be doing it in front of his staff, me and the other customers (including children) was unbelievable.

Amazing Little cafè, friendly staff, excellent savoury offer, more than decent portions. I found the vegan / vegetarian cakes exceeding sweet and cloy, could not go more than half slice.

Service is always lovely to customers but the attitude shown from management to staff makes me not want to come back. Coffee is often burnt and bitter. The muffins are highly rated but would avoid the rest of the food as is often overcooked

We had a very nice ham& cheese tostie and a toasted sausage sandwich, a nice cappuccino. Good value for money. Also staff very friendly.

Average coffee for someone who loves good coffee. (I am not from Cirencester but the quality compared to roasters elsewhere was okay). Decent food. Nice and friendly staff but seemed a bit under resourced when the cafe was full.

lovely food, shocking service. Popped in for some lunch with family from Australia to a cafe I’ve been coming to for years, I was quite frankly embarrassed at the service that was received after speaking so highly of this place. Both people working behind the counter were rude and belittling. I also work in a small, local cafe and understand how it can get, but would never speak to customers the way in which we were spoken to today (especially as the cafe was very quiet with no queues and lots of empty seating). I have read the (shocking) responses to similar reviews and am aware that this will probably mean nothing but do still feel the need to share our experience. This place used to be so lovely and has a lot of potential, but I will not be returning any time soon.

The coffee and cake here are great. The only downside was being charged 50p for a small jug of hot water on the side for my black americano?!

Rude service, just asked for some water and the manager had a go at us for getting lunch somewhere else which was 2 hours ago. There was no need to be so abrasive about it! Looking at some of the other reviews, collectively the service has not been great. Is this a coincidence?

Discovered this lovely cafe as we walked passed. Lovely atmosphere and clean toilet!!! Service was a bit slow (they forgot us) but I'm hoping this was a one-off. Delicious coffee and tea (free as compensation). Food was excellent value for money.

a really lovely cafe with exceptional coffee - however, the current manager on shift whilst i was there was spouting abuse and generally bullying his teenage staff members ,which is unfortunate as they were doing an excellent job. he was more than pleasant to the customers however, a shame he couldn't extend that to his wonderful staff :(

Staff always friendly and welcoming here! I love their sausage rolls, salt beef open sandwich, latte and of course their smoothies (highly recommended especially on a hot day!) The walled seating area at the back is our family fav on a nice sunny afternoon. We love coming back to Pretty & Pip for their quality food, cakes and coffees. We don’t mind paying a bit more to support a local business. Well done to Phil & his team!

Pretty and Pip's has been our favourite coffee shop in Cirencester for the past 3 years at least.The flat whites are invariably excellent. My usual snack is salt beef on toasted sourdough bread - generous and very tasty. Today, for a change, I had a Cornish pastry - the best I have tasted outside Cornwall. It was air-fried to perfection. When I allow myself to have a pastry, it is always delicious. Phil, the owner, has a wicked sense of humour, which I thoroughly enjoy!

I don’t normally write reviews for cafes and restaurants but I got food poisoning from here and want to make the owners aware. I had been looking forward to trying something from here as it looks really enticing but when I had a sausage roll and it was heated up I thought it tasted a bit funny but thought it was just quite herby and it was very greasy. I will never buy anything from here again as not long after eating it I felt ill and a few hours later, when I got home I was sick. The quality of the other items was also not good, definitely over priced as it didn’t taste like quality ingredients were used. The sausage roll filling was crumbly like stuffing. The pastry was rolled very thin. It came with three sorry looking sprigs of pea shoots and two tomatoes. The cakes we had tasted like they had white fat or cheap vegetable oil in, not butter, and just tasted meh. Everything was oily and cloying. But it looked nice. Very disappointed. Great style, poor substance. Also there were a couple of flies buzzing around inside, the doors were open so it’s to be expected I suppose. Maybe most people don’t notice the quality of the food vs the price but I’m not going in here again.

I really love their coffee, it's great. I would also recommend the Bakewell slice.

Some of the best coffee in town and a nice garden to sit in. The Salt beef sandwich is also a form favourite.

Nice outdoor seating and cake was ok. Tea is served in a cup not a pot so this doesn’t last for the duration of the cake. Milk is in a small glass which is weird as it doesn’t pour at all well. At 3.35 I asked for hot water in my cup to stretch out the tea and was told that they closed to orders at 3.30 (rather early for a coffee shop)and it would have cost 50p. When one cake and two teas came to over £9 already I think it’s poor that they would charge more for hot water even in today’s climate - Particularly when they don’t do tea in a pot in the first place. I was very disappointed and won’t be returning - though having seen the manager’s response to other low reviews I suspect they won’t miss me too much!

Quiet coffee shop at the heart of cirencester city centre! We had a tune and cucumber sandwich with berry blast smoothie.

Excellent sausage sandwich and coffee.

Tea was hot water in a cup plus tea bag. Ham and cheese on burnt toast was left, as we received an extra bacon bap by mistake. 5 meals ordered arrived separately at regular intervals. Will not be dining there again.

The food was good but the service was shocking, food not coming out at the same time, elements of the orders missing and long waits for missed/forgotten orders. Not the best experience but you have to feel for the staff that were trying hard as there were clearly other staff letting them (and the business as a whole) down!

I read the reviews before going here and most of the complaints were about the staff. I completely disagree with those. The girl making the coffees etc was very pleasant. The younger guy that took my order was also very pleasant. I sat near the ordering area and witnessed this the entire time I was there. I only had coffee, it was good. The food looked, but I didn't try any.

Nice cakes, coffee OK. Bit pricey. Nicely decorated inside. Good place to hang out. One of the nicer cafes in the area (although there are certainly plenty to choose from!)

I'd avoid this place. The atmosphere is nice, but the guy running the place isn't. Don't take my word for it - have a look at how he responded to all the reviews that provided critical feedback to him, including mine. Appalling treatment of customers. Moreover, the owner told a staff member off in front of me and other customers. He was not very polite with me when I made my order. Some of the tables were not cleaned and had piles of rubbish and dirty plates and mugs. I'd recommend going to any of the other handful of lovely cafes in the area for a more pleasant experience. In response to the comment from the owner: 1) "Feedback" is spelt as one word. 2) Your response shows how "nice" of a person you are. It's a pity you don't have self-awareness, and you make it seem as if your customers are at fault to excuse your own unacceptable behaviour. 3) I am sure your staff have commented on my attitude while you are being passive-aggressive towards them in front of customers. Well done for hiding behind the backs of your staff! If you learn how to treat people around you, you might become a good cafe keeper.

Food was ok, had to wait for a bacon sandwich due to "overwhelmed kitchen". The person serving the food handled dogs and food..... Not for me. Decorated well, staff were lovely. Edit - Thanks for the passive aggressive response. Actually seemed quite rude. I don't think your demographic should account for your terrible service. Won't be visiting again.

Over priced and under whelming. Nothing fancy about this place other than the plates and the prices. Below average food, highly priced. Grilled chicken on small Brioche was chewy with a bit of lettuce, no sides or salad, unless you class a few pea shoots as salad, I don't. Cheese and ham toasted sandwich was minute, two small slices of seeded brown bread with ham and cheese on, and the obligatory pea shoots, again no sides. Coffee was luke warm, too much chocolate on the cappuccino and cold milk was served instead of hot milk with the Americano. Staff were abrupt and felt like they were under pressure despite place being only a third full, no spoons or cultery served, had to get our own. Very disappointing, would'nt go back again, better value for money options elsewhere. Edit: knocked a star off following the owners response.

2 coffees and 2 sandwiches- £30!!!! Completely overpriced and really not that special. Have bought bread from here before and it cost over £5 which is just extortionate. Much better and cheaper places in town

I think the day we visited they were a bit short of staff. At 1.30 with the place only half full we were told that there was a 15 minute wait. Food was good, if not a little pricey.

Our favourite place to go for coffee and cake in Cirencester! They have a lovely outdoor seating area, and it is also very cosy inside. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, and they allow dogs. Always lots of delicious vegan options available :)

Possibly the rudest and most passive aggressive member of staff I have ever encountered. The receipt says Lani so I assume that is her name. She was rude and the service was shocking, I ordered a smoothie and it didn’t arrive, she gave a refund without even an apology. There are plenty of other places to come in Cirencester, do yourself a favour and avoid.

Good coffee and a quiet authentic coffee house that is an absolute delight. Highly recommended.

Love to come here, nice place, good food and service. But it’s sadly amazing how the terrible attitude and rudeness of one, the cashier today 11:00, can damage the whole experience.

So strange, I ordered tea, it came with pot of milk but no sugar or spoon . I asked the girl who served me for sugar, she said it’s at the front by the counter, no offer to fetch. I was in back garden. A young male staff got it for me and was told off by the boss for not telling me to get it myself. They only stock Demerara for coffee and sweetener, I asked boss for white sugar, he was extremely rude. I was going to have lunch but I Couldn’t drink tea without sugar so I left with the boss shouting abuse after me. Never again!

Decent overall value. We paid £11 for 2x small coffees, a piece or carrot cake and a croissant. I can't speak for the croissant but the cake was really nice and a good size portion. The coffee was hot and plenty strong enough. So what would it take for 5 stars? Well a bit warmer of the customer service front and a slightly bigger cup of coffee would have seen 5 stars no problem!

My first visit to the beautiful Cotswolds. We called in for lunch to Pretty&Pip. The gourmet sandwiches are huge. And delicious. I had the cured ham and cheese. Highly recommended.

Only got an oat flat white to take away but it was the best coffee I’ve had in a while - would recommend! Strong flavour and deliciously creamy

Popped in here as I'd been advised the cake and Coffee was good and it had a nice outside seating area and it was a sunny day so I wanted to take advantage of it and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly quick service, great cakes and the drinks went down a treat. Watched sandwiches go out to other tables and I had sandwich envy by the time I left. Maybe next time, because we'll be back. Definitely worth a visit

Really good selection of sweet and savoury items for lunch. Both the chicken and halloumi burgers are tasty. Large toasted sandwiches available too. Choice of cup size for your choice of coffee too. Inside and outside seating available. Helpful staff. Will be going back.

Never before have I ever had to pay for hot water. Food was nice enough and staff friendly but will never go back to or recommend a place that charges for hot water.

Total waste of time! I came here for a quick break and thought i would treat myself to a takeaway Chorizo sausage roll, they looked fantastic but do NOT be fooled! Firstly, i was appalled by the £6.50 price tag!!! Secondly, i was stood waiting for 15 minutes whilst they warmed it up. Just to top it all off, when i was walking back to work i bit into the sausage roll just to discover it was rock hard and inedible, how it didn’t chip my tooth i don't know. Went straight in the bin. I am never coming here again and i would not recommend.

Very expensive! I paid £16 for 2 regular drinks and a chorizo sausage roll. The drinks were ok, bit too milky for my liking and the food was average, I kind of ate it out of principle for the price paid. Wouldn't return due to the cost and also due to better options being available near by.

One of the best blondies I've ever had. I really enjoy baking and so it's refreshing to find another coffee shop/ cafe which offers a big range of interesting cakes and cookies - especially white chocolate brownies. I ordered the pork sausage roll and raspberry and white chocolate blondie. Staff were friendly. The blondie was fudgy, dense and you could taste the raspberry pieces and white chocolate drizzle. I dropped one star just because the pork inside the sausage roll tasted a bit rough and wasn't the best roll I had. I would visit again purely for the cakes and bakes. I also bought a cookie for takeaway and it was really nice My partner recommended me this place and he really liked it here. He ordered the brie and mushroom roll and an americano and enjoyed it.

Enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea with a crunchie brownie. There was an amazing choice of cakes/ slices to choose from so will obviously mean a return visit.

Excellent. Every menu item we had was a great example of its species. My son (6) loved his bacon sandwich. My wife was very appreciative of the chicken and avocado brioche bun. I enthused over the sourdough sausage sandwich. The drinks were also just right. I had a dirty chai latte initially which was a perfectly balanced combination of the flavours that went into it. My wife had a very good camomile tea. I also had a non chai latte, which was very good. The service was quick and efficient, the coffee shop itself full of character and sufficiently well spaced for these troubles times, and there was absolutely nothing to find fault with. Three very happy customers.

Tough to defend the baguette in picture here. Staff were friendly enough and food/coffee came out quickly although how could this baguette not have come out fast? Its poor quality top to bottom. £5.75 is a high price point for a sandwich with no extras and an optional 50p extra to 'plate it'. It wouldn't take much to do at least 1 of the following: toast the baguette/warm it up. Add butter. Melt the cheese. Use fresh bread. Add a side. Offer a condiment I.e chutney or mustard. The list goes on. I wish I had read the other reviews which are critical on the brunch/lunch items as the cakes looked like they could have been nice. Either way, I hope the owner takes this review in the spirit it was intended I.e. Constructive criticism and doesn't respond in a rude/defensive tone as I've seen on other reviews. Sometimes listening to customers is useful. Sadly I won't be one of them again.

Wish I had read reviews before attending - the owner seems to blame every issue on recovering from covid, unfortunately that doesn’t make the quality of food any different. Friendly staff however food is atrocious. Baguette is £5.75 if eaten out of a bag, +50p to eat from a plate. No salad/crisps on the side as per most coffee shops, not even any butter in a dry and hard baguette. Also charge 50p for some hot water needed for our baby. Most definitely would not return or recommend.
