The place is cute but very small and expensive. The service is very poor: they didn't have anymore bottled water and wouldn't give us tap water instead, we had to ask twice for the rest of our order. They completely forgot they had to serve the table next to us and left the customers waiting for litterally half an hour. When one the group went to prompt them, they replied 'sorry we completely forgot about you'. Considering the place is very small amd there are only a handful of tables this is unacceptable.

Two pastels de nata and a small coffee for £9.90? And no indication of prices before you buy? Come on! They put cinnamon on the pastels without asking, and when I asked for a regular latte I got a small one. Probably just as well at these prices. I should add that the pastels were every bit as nice as the £1.50 ones you get at the South Bank, but £2 more expensive. As for the latte, it's just a shame the Coffee Cab wasn't there today.I wish I'd been hungrier. I could have got a good meal for £9.90 just down the road.

They charge per head, not per drink. Ordered a pot of tea to share with one other, but they failed to mention their ricidulous policy until the tea arrived. This policy meant they were expecting us to pay over £8 for a pot of tea, outrageous, they should have mentioned this when I ordered, I made it clear the tea was for sharing. Will not be returning due to terrible customer service and unfair policys.

Staff unwelcoming from the start, ordered two chai lattes which cost over £10 to drink in !!! Sat down to wait for drinks, when brought over we were also given a slice of cake which we had not ordered but did not question when we received it since the server seemed very clear it was for us and we had ordered from him. Therefore we assumed the cake was complementary which was not so hard to believe considering the price of the drinks. After we had eaten most of the cake the female server came over and demanded we pay for the cake. When we rightly tried to argue that we wouldn’t have eaten it if we knew we would have to pay for it, she was very rude to us and made us pay £4.80 for a small slice of cake (again too expensive for what it was).

Had been meaning to pop in here for months, having walked past regularly, the cakes look delicious. They also have a really large selection of fruit and herbal teas to choose from. Visited on Sunday afternoon for a cup of tea and a piece of cake, however, I was surprised to find out a slice of cake was £4.80! I think that's extortionate, even for touristy/popular London. They were also very stingey with the pot of tea too. Myself and a friend ordered pots of tea seperately, but they gave us one pot, half full with water that only served one small saucer of tea each. We asked for more water, and were given a few centremetres - and were rude when we asked for more! I often go to places like the Wolseley and Fortnums for tea, and I have never experienced anywhere that begrudges you some more hot water for your pot of tea!The service generally was very poor. Ordering at the til felt like we were a hassle, and the lady serving did everything to make things difficult for us. It's also very cramped space, and not very comfortable for sitting in there for longer than 20 minutes. It's a shame, but I won't be visiting again.

We ordered three drinks and one piece of cake and the bill came to £16.90 - we'd had a lovely Indian meal further along Brick Lane for lunch for less than that earlier in the day!!The café wasn't overly busy but the order seemed to cause great confusion (2 iced coffees @ £4.80 each, one large Americano @ £2.50 and one piece of chocolate cake @ £4.80) so we were told to sit down and it would all be brought over to us.Eventually the drinks arrived but no cake and so we went back to the counter to ask for it and they had forgotten all about it - as we'd paid upfront we asked for it, otherwise we wouldn't have bothered as it all took so long. The quality of the food and drink was fine, nothing special but fine, but definitely not worth the price paid so we won't be returning as there are plenty of other places in the area to go to.

I went here with some friends over Easter weekend. The place is very quaint and nicely decorated and the member of staff that served me was friendly but that wouldn't be enough of a pull for me to go back. I had a small latte (which was very small!) and a salted caramel and chocolate tart. The tart sounded promising and certainly looked the part but actually it was a little flavourless. And then there was the price. I've seen more expensive places for sure, but for what you get, I founded this place very pricey indeed. I had originally wanted to order a chai latte and then saw they would have charged me £4 for it...so I opted for something else. Also being such a small cafe, it was a bit of a squeeze finding seats and therefore a little uncomfortable. When one of the members of staff was clearing a table, there was hardly any space for her to do so and as a result she was bumping into us while doing it (and didn't apologise about it).All in all, I wouldn't return. We chatted for a moment and he shared he runs the business with his children and wife. The coffee was good and price was in line with other shops in the area. If I lived closer I could see making this a regular morning stop for coffee. There bakery items looked great as well, next time I stop in Ill be sure to try something.

Just visiting the area and popped into this place for a pick me up, it was a delight . We ordered drinks , tea and coffee and lunch, we had a frittata with salad to share and a ham sandwich. Everything was lovely and the people serving could not have been nicer and couldn't do enough for is. I would be more than happy to come here again, many thanks for a lovely meal

I have been here twice. The first time I entered, I got a piece of cake (Swedish cake that tasted a little like Victoria Sponge), and that was really nice. I also got two macaroons, and they were very dry and stale. Yuck! Considering macaroons are expensive, this was not on. Also, I wanted to eat in and they put my stuff in a takeaway bag. I'm not sure what that was about as I ordered cake, macaroons and a drink! Why on earth was it boxed up and put in a bag?! So I went and sat down and ate my stuff out of the takeaway bag.I decided to give the place another chance. I avoided the macaroons. I had a cupcake instead. I was told it was vanilla and it was actually lemon. It was ok but I was expecting vanilla. This time they didn't expect me to go anywhere. Both times I was on my own. The shop is a new one and is cute, but they have some work to do...I won't bother again.

My boyfriend and I went to Brick lane market and came across this little coffee shop. It's inviting and charming. The coffee is great quality and the tea comes in a teapot with china cups. The cakes looked fantastic, I didn't try them but next time i will. It's a great place to take a minute and escape from the hustle and bustle of Brick Lane

A very smiley welcome, friendly service and a great cup of tea served in proper china cups and saucers. Not posh but a haven of calm civilisation amongst the generally scruffy, ethnic emporia that line Brick Lane. Lovely, clean loo too

Me and my girlfriend went to watch football. We had a few drink. Suddenly saw a drank guy!! He was a bit annoying and drunk. Told my girlfriend something that he shouldn’t say!! And then stand infront of me while watching tv screen. Asked him to move. Then he’s saying why I touched him. Had a argument then he went inside. Even though his friend saying his wrong. Anyway again Came back in a minute with another guy. May be his Securty. His saying his the owner of the pub. I live locally and running a pub bigger than his. That owner need to learn and not get drunk in his business place. We are not going back anymore..I recommend anyone want to watch football and better drink in Bethnal Green area there are so many but except this ..

Been meaning to try this place as it has been mentioned a few times in various London "Best Sunday Roast" lists. The roast was quite nice, but nothing special. For the price, we were expecting vegetables to be included, but they had to be ordered separately. I asked the server whether the roast came with 'all the trimmings' and they said yes, so to find out otherwise was a bit annoying. The food was also under seasoned. Overall it was worth trying once, but the value for money wasn't great. Service was pretty good though, thanks for that.

Expensive but nice cafe. Good selection of cakes and quality coffee.
