Preto - Brazilian Steakhouse Colchester in Colchester

The food was Luke warm on arrival. The spicy chicken was dry and burnt and had no flavour. The lamb and beef was good. I would order from Preto again, only because I’ve ordered before and it’s been very good. Not there best effort tonight.

This is a go to treat for our family, we tend to visit around 3 times a year. We went yesterday and the service wasn't up to usual standards. We were sat to lunch fine, but had to ask for additional cutlery. Drinks arrived late, they bought over two drinks and two glasses and then two glasses. We had to wait for the other two drinks. The buffet bar wasn't well attended. Lots of food run out and wasn't restocked. Felt like staff were walking around and not doing a lot. But the meat server was very good and the quality of the food was very good. We will come back and hope that this is a blip.

Good service, amazing food and a comfortable atmosphere the amount of freshly smoked and bbq meats is unreal you can chose to flip your card and have a break whenever you want the staff are very polite and accommodating and the deserts are all beautiful and homemade I had the dulce de leche cheesecake and it was fantastic

Would come back in a heartbeat, and already decided to bring a friend for her birthday! The food is stunning! The meat is so beautifully seasoned and tender! A wonderful selection of meats brought to your table fresh and hot! Salad bar is lovely! The cocktail I had was superb! Delicious! And 2 for £15. Really highly recommend!! Beautiful food! And really well priced!!

Brilliant service and food. You can eat as much or as little as you like and Arthur was brilliant as the main host. Colleagues where aware and kept seats and tables clean between diners. Fantastic!!

i walked in the other day and as immediately greeted by a jolly spirited kind young man with a smile named arthur. the prices were reasonable.

It doesn't come close to the one that was in Chelmsford. I found our server in Colchester to be the most helpful any other staff didn't really get involved. The food was okay a bit tough. The lamb was nice but again the one that was in Chelmsford was a lot better

She new a lot about the Brazilian food as we had a lot of questions we enjoyed the experience in Preto mainly because of her and the excellent service we received from her, we will be back, thank you for making it a wonderful Brazilian dining experience!

Over salted meat was my lasting memory. Pretos were better during covid when they brought out the buffet to order. The London venues are run to a higher standard too with better locations.

We came out to Colchester for my birthday. My partner has mobility issues due to a back injury which requires her to use a stick often. When entering the restaurant, her stick slipped due to something on the floor and one of the waiters bumped into her, further jarring her back. The meal itself was great. Most of the staff were lovely. Most of the servers were great, personable and lovely Around 45mins into our sitting, the manager and head waiter both came over within 5 minutes asking if we were done, with the waiter holding the card machine and asking if we wanted anything specific. We felt rushed and like they just wanted us out of the restaurant, which put a bad taste in our mouths. To add insult to injury, my partner’s stick slipped once again on something by the buffet counter. I really like Preto as a chain but this experience has sworn us off coming back to the Colchester restaurant.
