Lovely staff and great food. Comfy seats. Great selection of veggie dishes. Hot and cold food. Would be perfect if they changed the music.

This was the first time we had tried Pret a Manger and it won't be the last. There was a good selection of sandwiches and wraps and the food was fresh and tasty. Staff throughout the restaurant were friendly and welcoming. We will certainly return.

Well I have to say have avoided this type of place for ages, however I can't fault it for variety, quality, price, taste...fresh,good, pretty healthy food, sandwich, wrap, salads etc plus a hot section.Really good lunch break. Coffee good, soup good. Service good. This is not the place to go if your looking for a more upmarket lunch but it's great for a quick tasty light lunch.

Popped in for a quick coffee and a sandwich. Not impressed with the cleanliness, as the tables were being cleared, but not one member of staff wiped a table, especially outside. As I was waiting for my coffees, I saw that the Counter could also have done with a wipe. I would have left but I had paid £15.00 for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches. Got back to my dirty table, where I wiped it with one of the 2 napkins that I had been provided with. I had a Chicken and Avocado salad sandwich, the salad was plentiful, along with the basil accompaniment, however, was definitely lacking on the Chicken and Avocado front! My Husband had the Crayfish Tails & Salad sandwich, which his response to my question of "How is it?", was a bored/unimpressed look, and a "I've had better, and cheaper!". The reason why we chose Pret a Manger, was because the chain had a really good reputation, but if you were to go by our impression after this visit, it is extremely unlikely that we will visit again. The Flat White coffees were lovely, but very small.

On Market Street this Pret a Manger is staffed with friendly knowledgeable people. The vegan sandwich I had (avocado and a special pepper chili sauce generously filled with a variety of lettuce) was scrumptious. The seating area was airy, clean and tidy. It is also very inspiring that Pret a Manger gives all the food that is not eaten at the end of the day, to charity. A great lunch, many vegetarian and some vegan alternatives, and wonderful concept and staff.

Ideal place to have a coffee and sandwich. Food is prepacked but fresh and cater for all types. The only downfall is tables are taken up with students on their laptops.

Along with dozens of people moving in and out we moved with the flow. To cope with the huge crowds mostly of students and foreign visitors there is a large number of staff scurrying around. Getting a seat is hard so you have to be eagle eyed and quick on your feet. The food was pretty good from a wide choice to be eaten inside or carried out. We enjoyed our lunch although we felt the prices were slightly too high. At the back of the restaurant be prepared to find computers working away madly. We would go back but would try to avoid peak times.

It was not until after ordering our coffee that we were told they had run out of china cups and were given coffee in paper cups. If we had known this we would not have stayed. Very disappointing experience.

Chose to meet friends here as we knew we would get a seat for 5 on a busy Satruday morning. We were right and while not a quiet, personal atmosphere we got a table easily and enjoyed good hot chocolate and nice eats.

By far the best filter coffee for the price is at Pret. Even though it is a chain and not like some of the other coffee houses in St Andrews none can compete at 99p for a cupa

Although I do not like the fact that High Street chain eateries have proliferated in St Andrews recently I cannot fault Pret. (I much preferred the quaint, couthy, tea shops of the past and all their home baking.)In this Pret the high standards of food preparation I know from elsewhere have been maintained and the coffee is good.Get a window seat and take part in St Andrews' favourite hobby- people watching.

We had been a bit wary of this place, as it had a reputation for being a bit overpriced. We decided to give it a go for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Sandwiches, etc had imaginative fillings and prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely go there again.

Pret is the greatest for healthy fast food. Over the course of a week, we had their salmon salad, tuna nicoise salad, tomato soup, chicken/quinoa/avocado salad, fresh mango slices, etc. In a nutshell: you cannot go wrong with anything you order here.

Although it is part of a chain it is an asset to the town. Much better setting than many other coffee shops and eateries in town as it is very bright and looks out onto Market St. Service is fast and friendly.

Having eaten in Pret in Edinburgh and London for years I was excited about this one opening. I have been regularly to this one as I work in St Andrews but it's often a real disappointment. For example i got brown chicken in the Italian salad - this was once my firm Pret favourite but after that I can't even look at it or hard nectarines in the mixed fruit portion. Poor selection of soups even through the winter. I used to be able to get a soup a day I liked when I worked in Edinburgh, now there's rarely a nice one. The saving grace is the staff who are lovely, helpful and so nice. I don't know why the food quality of this Pret is so much less than the others but it sadly is. I don't mind paying pret prices when the food is usually so good but it's not worth it at this one, I've been disappointed too many times.

I have always liked this chain for its' approach and range of decent food. The St Andrews place is right in town based in a former shop. It is light and airy, and is a decent stopping point. If you know Pret this place is atypical and clean. You can grab a window seat and watch the world go by at average prices.Only one gripe, and that is the small print on the Pret website. As a gluten free personage out of necessity and not indulgence, the small print says their gluten free products could be cross contaminated. To the laymen, this means gluten free coming into possible contact with gluten and therefore being tinged with gluten. There should be laws against claiming gluten free when it might not be. For a chain like Pret this ain't good enough.Sort it out Mr or Mrs Pret.

This is one restaurant that I wish we had here in Canada! The food is fresh, delicious and made on site! Home cooked but with a flair for great taste and more unique ingredients. Loved my hot dish as well as my sandwich and a great cappuccino to go with it. Must be a popular place since it was full of students from the St. Andrews University at lunch time when we were there. You pick your food from the displays and then order hot drinks at the counter then find a place to sit. Definitely recommended for healthy and fresh food!

Since the closure of Nevada Bob's Golf Store & the opening of another eating place I thought not another one! I was persuaded by my wife to give it a try at lunchtime last week, the place was busy and getting a table was not easy. I chose chicken & brocolli soup followed by a wholemeal avocado & chicken sandwich my wife had salmon teriyaki salad - both meals pretty decent if not a shade expensive. Coffee was good also. The table sadly was unstable but other than that quite an enjoyable experience.

We love Pret a Manger, but as a family this particular one let itself down..... perhaps a major change of attitude from it's manager would help. Finding the only suitable seating for a family of 5 adults 2 toddlers and a one week old baby wasn't difficult until the manager arrived and asked us to move 'it.' By 'it' he meant our week old baby, the reason he gave was the safety of his staff!!! I suppose he was worried they would trip over the pram?? The rest of the staff seem frantic in their business, apart from the folk behind the counter who seemed relatively calm. Not conducive to a relaxing family cup of coffee at all. Bit of a shame really. In the meantime we respectfully recommend that the manager takes a workshop on relational skills.

Think Panera meets Starbucks meet an Arco am/pm. They have fresh sandwiches, soups, pastries, coffee (etc.), all of which are good and healthy and cheap/reasonable. We were in St. Andrews for 24 hours and ate here twice if that tells you anything.

There's only so much that can be said about chain restaurants that are pretty much the same everywhere. For the St. Andrews joint of Pret, however, what can be said is that there is clearly a lack of variety. While this company prides itself in offering many vegan and vegetarian options, these can rarely be seen in St. Andrews. The food is as pricey as ever and not always necessarily worth it. On the positive side, the interior is nice and so is the view.

In a town that could be called a city, because of its ecclesiastical connections, and home to a prestigious University, it is a fact that its students pretty much outnumber the locals.Hence a proliferation of cafes and restaurants catering fro a wide variety of pockets and backgrounds.I like Pret a Manger, generally, having always had good value but this new development is the best, so far. Hessian on the walls, lots of intelligently worded posters, brick walls and pleasing furniture make a really nice ambience. What's more, the staff are proper human beings with their individual quirks. The cup and saucer designs are good, and the general layout very accessible.Good value and seems to be very popular, already. There's a lot of choices in the town/city but I'll be making this a frequent one

Bought a great double espresso and slice of lemon cake as a takeaway option. Always good service and the staff are very friendly. I try to stop here when I can on my way to or from Perth. The Lemon cake was lovely with just the right amount of icing and had a sweet tangy lemon jam in a delicious sponge.
