I came just before 6, asked if I could still order, they said yes. Then I waited before a girl who was paying, when it was my turn, suddenly they said “we can’t warm the tosties (which normally take 2 min) and anyway we closed a minute ago.” Extremely unfriendly.

I really dislike this branch of Pret, it's always noisy, busy, and seems slightly grubby.

One of their staff has bad attitude or may be a racist I don’t know why she shout at me, maybe is my voice is too low so she shouted HELLO real loud. Then she scan my food then throw it on the counter. But I still said thank u and she said thank u and have a good day with her eyes stares at me like I’m a thief or what, just weird… it’s hard to explained but the facial expressions is not friendly at all. And it’s not even in busy hour, there is only me at the counter to pay, idk why the staff acting like a KAREN. But this is the first time I had a bad experience in here, all the other staff I met before are very nice.

The subscription plan is a very cost-effective deal, allowing you to have five drinks every day. Considering the price, the quality is quite acceptable. The staff are very kind and friendly, and I really like their work atmosphere, which easily spreads to the customers. Every time I go to their store to buy drinks, I feel very happy.

Rude staff. I visited the Pret store at Manchester University. When it was my turn to order, I requested a caramel latte and scanned my code. I noticed the staff member clicking +60p and looking unhappy. It occurred to me that I should have waited for him to finish before scanning my code. Feeling a bit confused, I saw the staff member bang on the table/machine and express his impatience to a colleague, complaining that customers never wait for him to finish before scanning. I was stunned and unsure of what to do. Normally, after I place my order, the staff says, "Your coffee is on the way," but this time there was no feedback, only visible signs of frustration. The staff member then told me to go and wait while he made my coffee. Later, I reported the incident to the store manager. After investigating, the manager explained that the staff member had hit the machine to make it work due to a malfunction and assured me that he had not said anything offensive. They offered to compensate my husband and me for lunch. I could not accept this explanation, feeling that my concerns about the staff’s complaints and behavior were being dismissed as mere machine issues.

blaming customers for not picking up drinks, for scanning code too quickly, too slowly, for low voice… and for everything that they’re supposed to improve. … Very rude and racist!

Very rude staff , got my order wrong and when I asked for it behaved like it was my mistake . And wasn’t ready to fix it . Other prat stores are usually welcoming and warm . Management please fix this . Thanks

Delivery driver sat talking on his phone for about ten minutes before he delivered my food, sat and watched him, glad I'd nothing warm ordered.

I have paid for the subscription but still they treat me like I'm asking them a free drink or something. The staff is very rude and racist. As compared to other Pret, the experience with the staff and beverages here are the worst. They even checked my phone without my permission whether my subscription is real or not. They don't even know how to make coffee and hot chocolate. I regret taking subscriptions and I will definitely not going to renew my suscription. Pret should hire new staff or train them properly...

Racist and rude staff. Alberto kept checking our phones and tapping on our screens without consent whenever we scan our subscription. I ordered an extra hot cappuccino, it was barely warm when it arrived. When I asked Fanni to change the drink, she had the audacity to say “I’ve been trying to pass the drink for a long time, maybe you didn’t Understand”

Someone took their eye off the croissant and it got burnt, everything else excellent.

I get that staff are probably overworked since there’re always long queues. But if you’re going to take it out on the customers we’re going to have opinions. Like we’re all stressed. Life sucks…for everyone. Nothing like going into a Pret after a tiring day and getting lip from people that look like they can’t be bothered to take your order lol Either hire more people or pay your staff more! I’ve been to Pret all over town and service in this one is by far the worst.

So, it's not just one experience I have been coming to this pret from September 2023 and it's not just me but my friends as well, I ordered an ice mocha and could feel the sugar granules so I asked the barista to just do reformations and they simply shifted the drink from one cup to another and didn't even add sugar syrup. We have been visiting other pret locations too and those are better at service and food both. Hope this doesn't happen again.

Warm bright place, but the quality of coffee and food is mediocre. Served the wrong drink, by staff who seem to want to avoid any contact with customers if possible. Music a bit loud to talk easily.

Got a TooGoodToGo from there and they said they didn’t have any food for the TooGoodToGo, however there were sandwiches and food bowls on shelf next to me as I was being told this. They weren’t sorry or willing to help and I didn’t offer a way to get a refund until I asked.

Food is pretty pricey for a student area but quality is much better than a butty from big store brand close by. :) Coffee only comes in one size which is a surprise…I like a lot of coffee. Staff are awesome, even when busy they manage the queues great and even have enough opportunity to be personable. Seating area is good, front area and side/rear area, plenty of choice.

Everyone who works there is lovely but Marco is truly the light of my life, an angel on earth

rude racist staff there who ignore me and another two Indian mates after me. They just pretend they didn’t hear you when you talked to them. Unpleasant experience.

I’ve been there everyday the coffee is good .

My favourite soup, Souper Tomato Soup, can't be beaten!!!

Great food and drinks albeit a little on the expensive side. Came here and had a very friendly guy taking my order. Also got a free drink :)

Soup everywhere managed to rescue delivery. Meatball Mariana full of chilli, not mentioned anywhere on the menu, ruined it for me threw it.

Souper Tomato Soup is absolutely delicious and so are the sandwiches.

My sandwich took longer than expected to toast, but the lady making it was polite and apologetic and did the best she could. Then she offered me a free coffee to make amends. It doesn't matter if things go a bit wrong when people care about making it the best they can.

Went for a meeting with my supervisor. The ambiance was really nice and not so much noise so was a good place to have a chat and an informal meeting

Update Aug 2023. New staff. Great customer service. Thank you for listening to your customers. (Just started work at the uni (April 2023) I go in once or twice a week. I'm going to stop. The staff are miserable, unhelpful and rude. I have to ASK for a bag and napkins for my sandwich after they slap it on the counter. It got me so angry I was rude back at the start of June when asked if I want a receipt I just snapped no and walked off. AND THE BARISTA WHO SERVED ME LAUGHED AS I TURNED AND WALKED AWAY. You need new staff with manners and who don't mind doing the job there.)

The drinks were overall okay, but I had an unpleasant experience with one of the bartenders. This is my first month of subscription and I don't think I'm going to renew it. Sorry. I hope they serve better.

Sometimes I just want a drink even for the first of the day. Some staff replied with “with?” which obviously shows impatience and unsatisfactory attitude about buying only drinks with the subscriptions.

The have a very good deal , you subscribed for a month by paying 30 pound , and you get 5 beverages a day. You can not order them together , you need to wait at least 30 mins before the next beverage which i think it is acceptable I like their flat-white

Listen, they will charge you for five pounds for a cup of coffee, which you can only pay by one or two pounds by the coffee machine in our library.And they will change your more when you eat in.

The service is good but it's so chaotic in the morning, I go somewhere else now that's cheaper and less nioisy. And to be honest the coffee offering is not a patch on Caffe Nero, which does discounts!

A favorite place to go for grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning. A subscription option is beneficial for students.

Luigi is a great Barista, always friendly and kind and makes the drinks very quickly !

Standard pret but a few negatives, it's quite small inside given its in a very busy area, queues can be really long, closes sometimes at 4pm and it's closed on the weekends.

Beautiful Salmon & egg crusty roll. Always delicious with flavour, ousting with the egg mayonnaise.

I thought I would try the pret subscription, so I came in and ordered an iced latte, barely 10 seconds later I was handed my drink. So it was not made to order in front of me, and it also tasted pretty bad compared to other coffee shops so I won't be returning :(

This Pret has a great atmosphere and the whole team worked well and provided such a great service with smile! Definitely worth visiting, well run!

The aircon is alway on and it gets super cold in the back of the shop, so most people have to wear their coats. It is especially annoying in the winter months and not environmentally friendly at all.

I love Pret, but this specific Pret at Manchester Business School is poor. It is way too small considering how busy it is all day. I feel bad for the staff because oftentimes there's a queue going outside and you're lucky to get a seat. Many of the drinks are out of stock here. And there is a serious fly infestation - every single time I've been here (I have been coming for over a year), there are tons of fruit flies on the ceiling and flies flying around. For the sake of a 15ish minute walk to the next Pret, it's way worth it to skip the queue and have your favourite drinks in stock, and a chance to sit down without flies. But, the food and drinks are great.

Says it’s closes at 5pm, however I got turned away today (a Monday) at 3:52pm.

the staff are so hardworking, i'm in here studying most days and they're always doing as much as they can. The coffee range is good and fairly priced

UPDATE: Well, it's been a crazy time for Pret since lockdown, when they launched a subscription service in an attempt to try a new business model. It was so successful it broke their ability to serve drinks, especially at this branch with the student population happy to push the subscription model to the absolute limit. As a result, almost all the previous staff left, and they had to change the processes they used to make drinks. The place is ok, but it's become a bit soulless - the staff have lost their friendly rapport, and the coffee is now just alright.

Been going here for the last couple of days, the lady served me a tea which I didn't know it was organic and saying that I thought I would have an option to decide, didn't like the attitude she had when serving myself could of been much nicer and friendly

It used to be my fave pret, and I had a coffee subscription for months. I stopped my subscription because the new barista (the older man) is unfriendly to most people. I don’t know why they hired him as all employees of pret are friendly except him.

Hi, Be careful everyone. Pret had been offering free coffees for the month of October. I have subscribed and cancelled it. Yet, they have taking my money for the month of November. It is a scam! Even if you cancel they charge you. I am not the only one who has been scammed, as I have seen more reviews and posts about it. Check your bank account and contact your bank if they have charged you

The two members of staff working when we visited last Sunday morning were so upbeat, welcoming and friendly. What a refreshing change to other coffee shops. Nice selection of food as well.

The place itself is nice, friendly staff. I ordered flat white and it was horrible,barely warm. I had latte before in one of the other stores in town and it was absolutely fine.

Great coffee and the place is clean, modern, cosy and spacious. Friendly sraff. I had a turmeric latte and it was fantastic and very authentic. Really appreciate the effort Pret cafe's are making in providing healthy food options. On that note though, the only down side of Pret in general (happened twice in one of their branches in London too) is that they tend to serve you the coffee in paper cups when you stay in!!! It just doesn't make sense and I was told that ths reason for this is that they ran out of cups and need to wash them up. It's understandable but - in addition to how unfriendly this is for the environment - I just like to drink my coffee in a real cup when I stay in.

In too much of a hurry to get you out of the door when it gets to half an hour before closing time. Cleaning floor around customers etc etc. Don’t staff get time to tidy up after then? If not, they should do.

Bobbed in for a quick bite before attending the Manchester University open day with our son. Just as I praise Costa, so too I praise this store as it didn't disappoint me in the slightest. Food and drink was of great quality and the usual price you come to expect from walking into a coffee shop such as this. Still, really enjoyed it and I will no doubt adorn their doorstep again soon.

Just what to expect from a coffee shop. Not ridiculously overpriced, baristas are welcoming and it's a nice place to sit to get some work done with a coffee in hand. My favourite is the chocolate frappe - not a coffee but would definitely reccomend trying it!

Wanted to check if it had enough space inside and was more than enough. Happy with the interior was able to relax as it was nice and quiet. Tall big tables as in pictures make it different from other Pret. It has some more basic tables for 2 behind the bar too. I liked it.

I love Pret A Manger usually for their fresh sandwiches and great flat white. This new branch has amazing lovely baristas. I went with a friend on the Mother’s Day ,Jason made the coffee on the house. Will come back soon 👌🏻
