Pret a Manger in Uttlesford

Just paid £2.10 for this bag of crisps!!! A total rip off. I'm genuinely shocked. 1 coffee, 1 salad and a sandwich was £20...clearly profiteering from a captive audience.

This airport Pret A Manger location changed my perception of the brand. The Posh Cheddar and Pickle Baguette is something of the divine, made so by the fresh baguette, roasted tomatoes and sweet purée.

it was my first time trying an almond croissant and it was one of the best croissants i have ever had. i love the almond paste on the inside. the pumpkin spice latte was underwhelming. i don’t give 5 stars only because it was a fight to find place to sit and the food was a bit overpriced (as per usual in airports).

£6.25 for a stale sandwich. £3.2 for two boiled eggs. What happened to pret?

Recently visited this store with my children before our flight, however the behaviour and attitude from staff is appalling. Even my daughter who is 8 years old, was right beside me noticed how rude the staff were towards us, with the eye rolling and mumbling. Ordered flat white which was bland and zero taste of coffee along with 3 baby-chinos. I then kindly asked for regular sized baby-chinos to be made in coffee cups with straws, to avoid any hot milk spilling on them. They ignored and refused the request I have made. No support from the store manager to resolve the issue, as she only mentioned that it is against Pret A Manger policy. I was a Pret subscription member and nor have I heard this before or had a problem asking the barista for my request.

Tables and floor are dirty and covered with empty cups and wrappers. £4.10 for a relatively small cup of Flat White is just too expensive. Disappointed

The best Pret inside this airport for cleanliness and customer service. A gentleman is cleaning regularly the tables, someone I have never seen in the others, and Yovka made our morning. A lovely and sweet lady who engages in a friendly conversation a d let you feel home.

I’m writing this review to just mention the nicest person in Pret. His name is Lucas, and he was such a gentleman when he served me the other day. He was attentive, helpful and customer friendly :-)

Unfortunately, prices are really high these days. Sandwiches are still delicious!

Efficient, standard coffee. Open even in the early morning times.

I recently visited a Pret A Manger location at an Stansted international airport and was left thoroughly disappointed by the service. My order consisted of tea, coffee, and a salad. Unfortunately, the interaction with the staff member was far from pleasant. Upon requesting to swap the classic English tea for a tropical variant, the employee responded rudely, lecturing me on how in England, tea is traditionally consumed with milk and is black. This unsolicited advice was not only unnecessary but also unhelpful, as I was not informed about the available tea options nor given time to peruse them myself. Being in an international airport, I found it peculiar and quite inappropriate for the staff to impose such traditions and to communicate with customers in such an uncouth manner.

Awful hot drinks. They have changed their machines to instant machines - no grinding of coffee beans in sight (and they are still charging significantly more than a high street store!)

I love Pret A Manger but the staff need to lose the attitude

Pretty in the airport lounge, the service is okay, very busy. Hot food and sandwiches are great and tasty. Coffee was not great. Prices can be seen very differently for standard and club card.

Today, I bought a sandwich (good) and a horrible coffee with milk, I swipe the card and the girl tells me that it doesn't work, okay, I pay her 8 pounds in cash and I leave. The surprise comes when I arrive in Lanzarote and I see that I They charged 2 times by card plus cash, 24 pounds for a sandwich and coffee with milk

A chocolate powder are not stir enough. And taste is different.

PLEASE LOOK HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE AND WHAT YOU GET 🙏🏼 They advert a Carmel latte which looks amazing on picture - with cream etc but I got a simple coffee latte. The lady didn’t asked me or explain that the price £4.25 is for club card members - just charged me £4.60 when I resigned she charged me £ 4.25 and gave it to me later a simple coffee latte which I should pay only £3.90. Very poor service.

I rarely feel the need to write a poor review but I just had an awful experience in here with a staff member. It started off badly when she rolled her eyes when I ordered my drink (nothing fancy just a filter coffee with hot oat milk). And then when I simply asked if the price was “eat in” she proceeded to rant at me about how she wouldn’t dare charge me extra and got really rude and indignant. I had been happy and smiling throughout the whole interaction. As someone who works as in hospitality and serves customers and coffee I know how hard it can be and how horrible it can be with a difficult customer. But I would never talk to a customer the way she spoke to me when I had been nothing but pleasant. You can excuse a bad day only so much, and now this interaction has really affected my day negatively.

Dirty and chaotic- all the tables and floor littered with trash and when you tell the staff they just tell you they know but the manager won’t hire anyone else to clean. I’m a big pret fan (the three stars are for the food etc) but this is an embarrassment.

As a Pret subscriber, I drink the same drink daily in the local Pret shop. But in this shop, I cannot feel the coffee taste even though I order a double shot of coffee. The lady who severed me was so friendly, but others were not. Imagine people who are not Pret subscribers, and they have to pay around 4£ for a cup of coffee like this.

Worst staff. Bought flat white- no coffee in it at all. Gave stale coffee. Very rude staff. Racist

Appalling service, clearly had staffing issues and till problems but after waiting 15 minutes to pay for a sandwich and be told they wouldn't serve our queue? Unbelievable? You had one job to do! Take my money! clearly that was beyond your abilities. I can understand if you're under pressure but accept the fault don't just ignore it.

Lots of choices available in terms of sandwiches, hot breakfast, fruit and yogurt. Good variety of croissants and cookies. The almond croissant is delicious, I love it. Coffee isn’t great, but that’s common in every Pret shops.

Early morning airport experience was annoying but the staff managed to lift my mood, Enrique was specially friendly and smiley and recommended me to try the best choc chip cookie. Got my coffee very quick too!

I review the big pret in the lounge here. Had a macchiato and babycino. Although staff are polite and supportive the quality of the coffee and service suffer at the expenses of cheap and quick take-away service, a dirty place where nobody cleans the tables and lack of seats. Coffee is served in take-away cups without any regards for the environment. Staff serve cold coffee and don’t understand what a macchiato and babycino are (except pouring warm milk in the cup). It sounds like management are interested in numbers and profit without queues and don’t understand quality and customer experience. I don’t blame the staff but management for poor service and working practices! You need to learn from the Italians!

Excellent branch with all the great customer service and quality beverages you could expect from a Pret.

Really rude service, broken card terminals.

Pret A Manger opposite Tommy Hilfiger - not seen such bad service for a long time! Totally disengaged and rude to customers, despite the shop being nearly empty. Does the brand owner control any of this?

The woman shouting to the customers to form three queues as if she was the teacher at the kindergarten ruins the whole experience. Such a rude way to relate to people, let alone customers. Edit: I hope I reviewed the right shop, this is not the larger one by the Wetherspoon's, but the small one on the corridor that leads to the big lounge.

The staff in this airside Pret were extremely rude. Upon getting to the checkout the female member of staff practically shouted at me for my order, and then proceeded to barge other staff out of the way to get to things. I ordered a skinny cappuccino but was presented with a standard cappuccino - I asked the female member of staff if it was skinny and she then proceeded to speak to the female barista in a foreign language which luckily I could understand. The barista basically said it was not skinny but 'what does it matter?'. The female member of staff then tried to hand me the cappuccino - I asked 'is it skinny?' And she shrugged and waved her arm towards the barista as if she couldn't change it and didn't care. I took the cappuccino as it clearly wasn't worth trying to correct the order - they obviously did not care about customer service one bit or getting the order right. God forbid someone with an allergy ordering here!!!!! I'll never use this Pret again. Terrible attitudes of staff.

Voor onze vlucht nog snel een koffie en een sandwich gehaald bij Pret a Manger. Helaas was op het vliegveld het toch een stuk slechter dan in het centrum van Londen. In het restaurant was alles vol wat geen probleem was voor ons want wij moesten naar de terminal toe. Uiteindelijk 2 luxe koffie besteld en 2 broodjes. Helaas kregen we simpele koffie die niet leek op het plaatje maar wel betaald uiteindelijk. Daarnaast ook nog eens extra betaald voor alles omdat ik geen tasje wou en hij dacht dat we binnen gingen eten. Bijna 18 pond moeten betalen. Lijkt bijna alsof ze dit express doen om wat extra te verdienen. Volgende vlucht naar Stansted toch maar ergens anders iets halen. Jammer want de broodjes was verder niets mis mee. Smaakt gewoon goed net als in het centrum van Londen zelf.

Filthy place , nobody cleaning or sanitising the tables after people consume their food

Be aware, just before our flight we bought sandwiches from here and ate within 20 minutes. My partner got sick during the flight and immediately hospitalised once our flight landed. She stayed in the hospital for 3 days, ruined our holiday. I’m expecting Pret to accept their responsibility and will take all legal actions.

Good coffee, very friendly service, And i was positively surprised by their sustainable and healthy selection of plantbased foods. Several really tasty looking vegan options

Pret A Manger, please fix the quality of your Stansted stores. Neither the food nor the coffees have anything to do with other Pret stores in London. Sandwiches are empty and unbalanced, coffees are way too watery. I’m a regular traveller and this review is based on multiple visits

Lady at the til was extremely rude to my mother for absolutely no reason.

This time they had filter coffee but it didn't taste any good. Too much water inside They didn't have filter coffee 2 times i went there. I feel like they don't want to sell it because it is cheap, but they put it on the list to get more customers. Americano doesn't taste good.

Friendly and polite personal, and very good coffee quality. And guess what they still use real money as a payment format…

Truly never had a more kind lady serving me. 5/5 recommend to get some wholesome food there!

Been here numerous times to buy food (sandwich etc) for flights. I usually visit in the mornings and they are open early, are generally efficient at the tills and well stocked in the mornings. Food is normal Pret sandwiches and salads of the same standard as other Pret stores. On the last visit I was very pleased they are serving again the baguette of brie, tomato and mozzarella which I still can’t get at my local Pret. My baguette was lovely and fresh and my husband had the bacon/egg baguette, which he enjoyed. I also had a mango/lime pot and a dark chocolate and almond cookie (these are lovely). One disappointment if coming for breakfast is that Pret has stopped making porridge with non-dairy milk (no idea why as plant eating is on the increase). Although there is seating in this store it is quite cramped as it is always busy with people queuing and the seats are around the queue/entrance so not the most relaxing places to sit and eat and wait but great for take-away.

Customer service was great, the guy who took my order was nice , welcoming and greeted me with a smile. ( I think his name was Angelo ) I had pret few times and the quality of their food is good. But the coffee that I’ve been served was horrible. I’ve ordered a flat white and the barista made it like a cappuccino. She didn’t even clean her steamer before steaming the milk…. Kinda disappointed.

Siempre que paso por Stansted Airport , visito este local. Tienen un amplio surtido para poder tomar algo. Disponen de comida vegana. Las bebidas calientes igual que en todo Londres, mas o menos. Es importante saber elegir qué comer. Ciertos productos de carne o pescado es mejor pedirlos en restaurantes que no sean de paso y que te generen confianza y aún así... El trato del personal es normal y depende del carácter que posee cada persona. Si prestas y pones la atención necesaria, yo lo recomiendo!!!

Horrible. Staff is rude in your face. I would argue it is because of racism. In particular one member of the staff, tall, long hair with beard and moustache. And one of the ladies who laugh at the way he treats particular costumers. I have seen it and experienced it.

DO NOT ENTER - i made the mistake of not reading the reviews before entering. For over 3£ you get a cheap-hotel lobby cafe in a squishy paper cup. Uncomfortable seating, no sockets to charge your device, this place was built to mock the customers naive enough to go there.

Absolutely diabolical. CHIARA was an awful barista. Very very rude. Couldn’t be bothered to take my order as she was too busy flirting with the man behind me to even realise I was in the queue. Very disappointed. MAybe think about serving coffee rather than your hormones.

Only place open on bank holiday evening which is a bonus. The vegan meatball wrap was okay not amazing, the hoisin duck was good and the hot chocolate amazing(popcorn one). Also tried salmon sandwich and it was standard. Quite expensive as to be expected at an airport. Staff quite uninterested.

One of the staff there is a scammer, he charged us 7 drinks when we bought one and when we tried to prove that it was wrong he claimed he didn't serve us. all these happened in 2 mins. A total scammer.

Very friendly staff and lovely pastries. Also, the manager Veronica was super nice! I felt sick while I was at the airport and she came to help me and she stayed by my side until I was ok again. Very kind of her! I definitely recommend this lovely place 😊

The lady who served me (Shayla) wasn't kind at all. I have several intolerances so I asked if she can made me a cappuccino with almond milk and she told me she didn't have it, so I asked if she could make me a rice milk with coffee and she told me she was going to put chocolate in it. I reiterated that because of intolerance I could not have either soya or chocolate and in front of everyone she began to tell me what this nonsense of asking for different things was. She was rude and really unprofessional! I won't be back!

In my experience England is full of kind and respectful people/staff but this place is kind of extra. I asked them for lactose free milk and they apologized about 5 times (which is ok, i feel like there is no café in England which serves lactose free milk), still went back to get some food and a Soy Chai Tea Latte and the server was insanely nice to me, sadly they can't take any tips.. everything else was closed by the time i got my food + chai (it was Monday 5pm which took me by surprise) but they're open until 8! 5/5 Stars, would recommend!!

Have to say, such lovely staff! Had a great chat and they were all so friendly! Bacon sandwich was a bit too salty for me but it’s bacon so that’s to be expected haha. Great experience!

Handy big shop ... if you want to buy anything before to board the plane or take away food.... the place is big bit there not many tables to accommodate people seating... you have some charging points for your phones, tablets and computers. Prices are the same as any shop Service could be a bit stressful They don’t clean often the tables..

So much for sanitisation .All tables still stained from previous users.It would help if you at least wiped them

Large spacious clean area. Had a cookie and tea. Had to return to top up with extra milk. Don't know why they don't use whole milk.

I think Baristas should have another training of making a coffee. I’m working at stansted so I’m there almost every day, and almost every time I need to ask for more milk in my coffe as it’s black (especially when you put the price up) or my latte is half milk half forth and the cup is not even full, and not all baristas are happy when you ask them for that. Food is lovely! But coffee could be much better! I attach the picture of my oat filter coffee (I haven’t start drinking yet, this is how it normally looks like)

Easy option to have a bite while waiting on your flight. There are two Pret A Manager Stansted stores at this airport. However one is at the ALL GATES area, so it is really easy to grab a lunch or something for in between the meals. It taste good and the prices are very reasonable.

Beware that there are 2 Stansted PAM: one small and one slightly bigger. The food is always the same. Very good.

I was heading home to Dublin, so had to go to Stansted Airport. As I was early I thought I grab a bite of my favourite sandwich at Pret A Manger, I always love their Crayfish and Avocado sandwich, too my horror there were none there on the shelves, So I asked one of the staff if they are bringing any more in, but I couldn't believe it when she said that Pret are no longer doing the sandwich in future, only in salad form. To say I was really disappointed is an understatement, The staff member did not really know why Pret the company has stopped doing it, only that they have. I would like to know from someone why this is the case. Pret are not the only ones adopting this policy, my wife too was disappointed when Wagamama's also took off her favourite dish. I hope that Pret A Manger will have a change of heart and bring back my favourite sandwich. Signed Maurice Thomas a very Un-happy customer.

My usual sandwich was missing and the manager really went the extra mile for me. He asked the kitchen to bring me one, on the house and wished me a merry Christmas. Very grateful for this gesture !

What kind of laziness is this! Why is white sugar sprinkled on top of cinnamon swirl? There was supposed to be brown sugar and cinnamon mixture INSIDE the swirls. What monstrosity! Dear chef, please no!

Catching an early flight usually means being surrounded by a variety of tired and hangry people, but not with Simon! Never have I ever seen a such a shining and funny personality in the morning, especially at an airport. Thank you a lot! You've truly made my day and Karma will be good to you. Will forever love pret. Convenience food at it's best. My go to grab place for something guaranteed tasty. From salads and sandwiches to hot porridge and pasta. They nail everything.

What I feel appriecated with this store in Stansted Airport is the staff's customer service, especially when the girl sitting at the opposite to me overturned her full coffee on my side and made my backpack and laptop bag wet without feeling guilty, the staff tried his best to take care of both of us and would like to treat a cup of coffee for free(I didn't accept the kindness due to the tragedy happened on me). Felt aweful but better now.

Good soup, sandwiches are fine. Staff too much in a hurry. When paying your order the guy with the funny hair just walks away, without excusing himself to get some napkins for his collegae. I’m just standing there with my money on the table ! At the second order i had to pay 8,08 , hand them over 10,08 and the lady just closed the cashier. Had to ask for my 2,00£ change. “Eh o sorry didn’t i give you back your money ?” Nice try. Maybe next time it will work out (not)

Our favourite cafe amongst all in town. Soecially when you are travelling. Its on most of the airports. Vegan meals, price competitive and great food
