Pret A Manger in Lambeth

Pret CS department; why are you leaving this pret to fail miserably. Awful rude staff and even worse coffee. Ask for a drink extra hot = Luke warm. Ask for a coffee as normal = Cold. Tasteless, bland. Sometimes bitter. Given this store is so bad maybe this is a reflection on the standard of management there. An area manager really needs to visit and get a grip. Us poor customers whom are used to a decent Pret are having to pay for a very sub standard product. I hope you improve things here.

Best tasting (seriously), (seriously) most expensive apple I can afford to buy (I mean an apple). Really! Staff's smile was phoney, though; t'least the one I pa'd2.

Until the tall barista was there in Pret, the atmosphere was quite exciting and happy. But now since the past few weeks the atmosphere is just serving coffee because you need the salary i.e. The level of customer service is dropping. Very unfortunate to hear :(

Pret excellent for breakfast and with bathroom.

Did not prepare my Ubereats order for over an hour and was still charged. They just had to bag the items…

I came here for a coffee and was waiting for a long time while the girl behind the counter was playing with her phone. When I complained, she said "I'm team leader, I can do what I want" and then some swear words and other things in Polish I couldn't understand. She was utterly disrespectful and puts a bad face to the Pret name!

Ice machine is not working like always

As all the prete a manger shops. Nothing special, just bigger so with more tables.

Not sure what the hype is. The sandwich was mediocre at best, and even though it was duck it had a tuna smell and taste… also they charge you extra to dine in, which is CRAZY!

Below average coffee inconsistently prepared. Definitely not lovingly prepared. Espresso shots are pre-made and left to sit getting cold before the order is made. Varying and inconsistent amounts of milk used. Unpleasant taste, burnt coffee. General lack of care shown.

Upon acquiring a sandwich intended for communal consumption with my colleagues, I relished its delightful taste. Although the pret offers a pleasant ambiance, I ultimately opted to consume the sandwich within the confines of my workplace.

It was OK - coffee isn't great.

The mushroom vegan sandwich is delicious, but the equipment is not very well maintained, our table was very wobbly.

Rude, disrespectful service from the young lady (arm tattoo) behind the counter. I questioned my drinks as they were both made wrong. They tried to fob me off thinking I don’t know my drinks. I asked a question and got ignored, so I asked again for their attention, to which she had the nerve to attempt to tell me that I had to wait. She’s very lucky I am able to ‘bite my tongue’ and let it slide, especially with a queue forming behind me. As a paying customer, I have to expect some basic customer service! Rude, obnoxious little girl with a chip on her shoulder. If you don't want to be there, choose something else to do. Otherwise, pick up the pace and try having a little urgency about you. Bins overflowing.

Accessible Pret location in Vauxhall. The staff are very quick with orders and payment which makes the queues move fast. Everything you find at your "local" Pret is here.

Thus Prett is the same as the other units in London. However went into the smallest toilet in the world, flush was broken, rubbish on floor, no toilet paper, soap and the hand dryer did not work. Complained but told it had been reported Sunday. It is now Friday! Not good enough for a major cafe to be left in this state and nobody cares!

Can manager order enough of coconut milk. They are out of it almost a week.

Note: original 4-star review (given in 2020) is now changed to a 5-star one (14NOV2023) JohnF is to be given credit for his work — preparing the best ever latte to my taste, as of 9 November 2023 — and serving that with authentic kindness and genuine smiles despite the fact that it was late in the evening and he must have been at the end of his busy day at work. Such pro-active behaviour adds value to the product, to the brand and to the service and becomes the embodiment of a certain company. JohnF's attitude become, and in my books is, the positive confirmation and embodiment of PRET: not only that of the experience of a fabulously tasty cup of coffee but also PRET as a community of people which, it must feel good to belong to, thus work together with. Besides, it also indicates that JohnF takes healthy pride in what he does — let that be attention to detail or professional presentation of the served item or even himself; such, I think, is something quite commendable. More so, as ,this review was written based on an experience that occurred on 9 November 2023 yet JohnF’s kindness, role-model-like professionalism and quality of work, at least from my viewpoint, is consistently that of high standard on each and every day ever since — so chances are that's the normal standard for him — and not only when interacting with me. If I may be bold enough to add: I cannot possibly know how much conscious effort goes into what consistently becomes a very good experience on my side; I think the quality of his work, his positive enabling approach to people — let them be colleagues or customers — are actually integrous to JohnF as a human being. Not forgetting for even a moment that this also indicates to me that the values of PRET as an organisation, as a corporate entity and the lived experience of the culture created by the community of their staff members are actually consistent with one another — in other words there appears to be negligible, if any, gap between the two. A remarkable attainment particularly, in this era of post-Truth and paradigm-shift.

I've just had the Boxing Day Breakfast Toasties and it's divine..... it conjures up the magical day after Xmas with lots of nibble tasty turkey and all the trimmings !!!! Fabulous Always good here and food offering changes regularly with some nice new items from time to time. Great well trained staff and good ethics..... bravo

Typischer Sandwichladen. Toast mit ham an Cheese war gut. Latte sehr lecker. Zum Frühstücken ok. Die Toiletten sind, trotz Zugangscode, nicht besonders, also gerade so ok.

Typisches Lokal dieser Kette in London. Es gibt diverse Sandwiches, Croissants etc. und eine große Auswahl an Getränken. Es sind ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten vorhanden sowie eine Toilette. Hier könnte etwas besser auf die Sauberkeit geachtet werden. Das Personal war bei unserem Aufenthalt freundlich und man wurde schnell bedient. Preislich war es ok.

Such a lovely service at this Pret, I had to take the time to leave a review! Shout out to Magdalena and Abi provided great customer service, I’d be very happy to return to this Pret when I’m in the area again.

I advise you not to go to that place, the people who work as cashiers do not serve the public well, a certain Manuel is the worst, there is another Martha who makes a mistake when giving you the coffee. Her managers are the worst, especially a certain David, and the place is dirty. A certain Bruno is a disgusting person. DO NOT GO

The best employer of Pret works in this branch. Amanu, working always with high energy and good vibes, always greeting all customers with smile and many calling them by their names. If this guy is not a manager, he should get a higher position

I am missing my main item and you do bot credit the delivery charge???? Or i cannot reorder?

I popped in to grab a vegan cookie and use the toilet. Only one toilet was working - the disabled and it was disgusting!! The toilet seat was on the floor, there was urine all over the floor and everything was dirty and sticky. Really gross. If this is the only toilet, for staff and customers, how can the staff use this and then prepare food???

The food was good but the chai latte tasted horrible with too much flavour

They don't serve filter coffee. I assumed the coffee options would be the same in all Prets but apparently Pret isn't good at standardised service across branches.

I needed a caffeine pick-me-up as we walked by. They have a decent Earl Grey here, so it hit the spot.

Always friendly and efficient! Special shout out goes to the gentleman with glasses (I don’t know his name) who welcomes everyone with such kindness and warmth - he is a true asset to Pret Vauxhall. You don’t often experience service like that in London!

Every weekday morning without fail the team hit me with my caffeine fix - but they’ll also start my day with big smiles and speedy, friendly service. It’s a Pret, yes. And as such you’ll find the same great food and coffee as you will at any other, but THIS outlet is the one that shows you how good a Pret experience can be. Big love to the whole team. Never been disappointed.

Great Pret made by the really fantastic staff. The place is crazy busy all the time but the staff keep their cool and are very positive. Much appreciated by me and hopefully everyone here.

This is a very nice place to hang out. The coffee is rich tasting and the sandwiches are good. The service is friendly and the atmosphere pleasant.

Food is great, team is great at the exception of a new old lady with blond hair at the till that is pretty rude. Some people are most suited to prepare the food or to prepare the drinks, rather than being client facing.

The customer service in this Prêt is beyond horrible from the beginning of 2023. No communication skills no basic courtesy and politeness at all. Every time I have to repeat my choices of bakery, multiple staffs cannot even remember the names of bakery. Never apologise after making mistakes and causing unnecessary delays due to their inadequate skills. I hope Prêt can increase the bar of employee choice and enhance the training. Miss the passionate and lovely staffs in 2021/2022. If this continues, Pret will only lose customers to competitors.

Pret is great for porridge, and I always go there for that. The staff are friendly too! But for coffee in the mornings? It is carnage :(. It makes me so sad :( On either side of the counters are between 8-15 people waiting for their coffee. Because they don't take names, when they call "Flat White!" about 10 people all lurch forward to take. After doing this once, I will never buy coffee from here - it is just too stressful first thing in the morning. I don't mind waiting at all, but I do mind having to remember who was before me and after me, and fight for my coffee :(

Most of the staff at Pret are very enthusiastic, and every time I buy coffee in the morning, they made my day. But I've had a white-haired lady serve me more than once, and to be honest, I'm not a native English speaker either. I've been subscribing to pret for a few months now, every time this woman serves me, she always doesn‘t understand what I'm ordering: reconfirm my order and use an impatient and grumpy tone. It's such an aversive experience. 😓

Rude staff. Toilets for customers are out of order and they won’t let you use staff toilets.

Good service, perfect atmosphere and out of this world coffee. Tasted amazing, I had to up my daily intake limit by one. Could not resist.

i had many experience with Pret for a Too good to go collection bag and this one is by far the worst i ever had! and i see im not the only one complaining about it.

Every time I go there, I am always greeted with their lovely smiles:) especially the barista who always asked me about my day and sang along with the music. Good vibes all round! Thank you for making my Friday morning so sunshiny despite the weather ☀️:)

Thank you so much to all the staff and in particular to the lovely Sabina Yasmin, Mani (Manolo) and David for the daily caffeine and scrummy lunches. In the summertime they never have ice for the cold drinks

Gross! Not often you see someone handle garbage and proceed to directly touch you food ! One for the food inspector clearly !

I actually went to this Pret as an Olio volunteer (we save food from being wasted from various places that have food left over at the end of the day and distribute them to the local community via the Olio app). The workers all knew who I was (not personally) and directed me to the manager on duty, who was super polite and asked me to wait until all the customers has gone (as I was there about 10 minutes before closing). The manager offered me all the available baguettes, sandwiches and salads that had a use by date of the day I collected and I distributed to members of the Olio community. Thank you Pret for helping out the environment and the community ❤️

Staff are definitely as other reviewers described. Nice and attentive. The tall guy with blond hair was very kind and helped me find sockets to charge my phone. Prices are a bit high compared to other cafés in the area which is surprising because you’d think Prêt would me more affordable!

Always friendly staff. The location is great right by the river and you can't go wrong with a pret although it's slightly premium priced.

20 mins to make a cup of coffee because they have 4 people taking orders and 1 making the drinks... Felt needlessly dumb to me

Could be 5 star, but the woman behind the till took a long time to find Salt and Vinegar crisps on the till and some of us are in a rush. That being said, my tuna toastie was toasted to perfection, however having it sliced would be an appreciated touch.

Could really do with an additional bathroom given the capacity of the cafe. Coffee was nice though.

The manager Salam here is quite rude and unaccomodating. I came for a too good to go order and asked for veggie pls. She gave me a bag of 5 ham Mac and cheeses and started lecturing me on Too Good to Go addressing me with 'darling'. Very rude.

Busy, chaotic and without a friendly atmosphere. So overpriced, like all Prets.

Arrived on time although item missing.

Soggy bread on both breakfast rolls, bread tasted stale and the cress in the salmon and egg was wilted. Yuck

Drink always arrived spilled even when instructions are given to ensure that does not happen. Very annoying

Just wanted to say what a fantastic service I have received today from this branch. I had a big platter delivery for my company and picked up a load of croissants for breakfast, they were fantastic in both and a quick and smooth service. Thank you!

Toilet break down for centuries

Best Pret team in town! I come here with my little one and the team are always very friendly & entertaining.

Friendly staff, who are attentive and always have a smile on their faces - no matter the weather. My local Pret and I'm pleased.

This was meant to a special breakfast but the smallest egg bacon roll not worth the money. Also roll sausage egg didn't arrive. Very disappointed with the order altogether.

Salt beef roll was tasty and pastries fresh.

A bit strange level of trained staff… in other Prets I always could get a cappuccino with coconut milk, here they said they can’t cuz the coconut milk can’t be used for the cappuccino… how do other cafes use barista oat milk and they are fine and here not? Also the staff does not really understand what They are asked about…. But they serve quickly! That’s good

Very slow. Lots of people taking orders but only 1 person making coffee so huge queue so coffee collection (a common sight in Pret). Had left lots of time before my train but had to leave before they had made my coffee as otherwise would have missed my train. Very disappointing.

Very busy and a long wait for your order

Apart from never having chai the customer service is either abismal or basic. On top of this the barista and the whole team behind the till forget about my coffee order while my coffee sits under the latte machine for over 10 minutes. No one notices until I ask again. Barista or team member did not even offer to make a new one as the coffee began to get cold. I have been to other Pret A Manger branches where care has actually been given and received excellent customer service. This branch, unfortunately, is not one of them at all. Far from it in fact. For this reason I understand it is not a company issue. It’s an issue for the branch, branch manager and team leader?

Coffee was not hot and staff wasn't nice at all. They don't like to talk to customers, just kept the coffee on counter without saying anything and I had to ask if its mine and she rudely said "yes". Bad customer service.

Delivery driver dropped the bag, spilling the hot drink over the food, making it inedible

The bacon in the egg and bacon roll was so hard and dry it went straight to the Fox. The mocha was tepid and had to be reheated. Will not order from here again. Never had a problem with the Elephant and Castle branch

Delivery driver was 5* - was respect to staff and called me to let me know my order was downstairs - Excellent service
