Lovely bread selection, scallops and squid. Lobster taglioni could have had more seafood taste, was very “ tomatoey”

Agressive staff. We were served three scallops starters after what I thought was a clear explanation that we wanted for the three of us to share one as we already had another starter. Perhaps there was miscommunication, but the plates were quickly dropped off at our table and our explanation shunned. Not that we are cheap, but it essentially added 30 pounds to the bill. We felt bullied and embarrassed by the situation, and it left a very bad taste in our mouth. Speaking of bad taste. Let’s talk about my main. Overcooked pasta served on a carved out lobster carcass, except for one mouthful of lobster. This was supposed to be a pasta and lobster dish for 28 pounds. I had no idea discarded lobster was so expensive. The sauce had zero flavor except for a massive amount of mouth numbing salt. Perhaps others enjoy mediocre Italian food. I don’t. An unfortunate restaurant choice, leaving us sad and feeling used as we are locals who believe in supporting businesses.

Our family has been here several times and it has become a family favorite. The staff always make us feel welcome like family. The food is authentic, delicious, fresh and served beautifully. The atmosphere is good for all occasions. Absolutely love it.

This is the first time I went to this restaurant and it was wonderful, beautiful glassware, tablecloth service and a beautiful menu. However, for the price only Crab avocado salad with diced celery and carrots had a strip of carrot and no diced celery. The Sicilian bread is basically like a crisp bread which is fine, but when it says home-made bread I expected more, home-made bread and olives was very similar with lovely presentation and garlic butter, but it would’ve been nice to have had olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the side. I then had a lemon soul which was seriously overcooked but I didn’t want to say anything in front of new friends, and it was also cold , however, the sea bream looked very good. The desserts looked excellent but I was very disappointed for the price of my lemon soul and my Crab salad I will go back just to see if I just had a bad luck day The wine was lovely and the service was excellent. Also, we did wait quite awhile between starter and main but not too long.

Bad experience.carpaccio was ok.aubergine parmingiana far too overcooked. Tagliatelle bolognese…overcooked. Lasagna by far overcooked ..was more a soup than anything else. Then comes the bill….upon checking the bill I made to total of the food and just see the total is wrong? They are adding complementary 13% extra,without saying it nor mentioning it on the bill. When addressing to head waiter about this..he completely ignored us just saying..you should have seen it on the menu… When we left the restaurant,we received a mail stating that our reservation for Monday evening was cancelled by the restaurant???? So ,do not go there..rude,not correct and bad food

Very welcoming service excellent price value within reach

On a cold November night, we couldn’t have found anywhere more warm and welcoming than Osteria Toscana. Our choices of Pacchero di Gragnano and Porcini Risotto were superb. It was one of those meals you remember always. Thank you.

Took my family to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. Hands down best Italian food I’ve ever had. And the wines were exquisite. Can’t wait to go back.

I loved my experience at the restaurant! The food was simply divine and the manager, Afonso, was incredible. The dishes served are mouth-watering, prepared with care and fresh ingredients. But the real highlight was Afonso's service, which was sensational. He was super attentive, helpful, and polite throughout my visit, making me feel at ease and completely satisfied. Not to mention the lovely atmosphere of the restaurant, with its super cozy decoration and a very welcoming atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a high-quality meal with impeccable service.

Absolutely delicious food and amazing Italian staff. It is a quite pricey, but it’s definitely worth it! Amazing truffles, delicious pasta and great side dishes as well. The carbonara is to die for and the lobster spaghetti was insanely delicious! Highly recommend!

Made a last minute reservation as we had just gotten to town. Service was great, bread starter was served with a garlic salt butter that was tasty without being too salty. I had the lamb chops and wife had pasta. Both very happy with our choice.

Loved the food and ambience. It was quite pricey, but I think it was worth it. My carbonara dish was tasty and plentiful, but my son said his pasta dish, the black truffle ravioli, wasn't large enough, and he didn't feel full afterwards. A shame, since he'd paid £20 for it.

Ordered Risotto with Scampi. It came with one scampi only. Tasted ok. The calamari was chewy and a bit fishy. Outside tables were not very clean.

I had a 3 course birthday meal here with my son. The fried calamari was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The main, pasta carbonara, was really tasty with pieces of fried bacon and lots of cheese. It was actually better than the carbonara I had in Florence last month! Finally, I had the grandmother's cake for dessert which was an interesting combination of flavours, textures and sensations. The strawberry Rossilini cocktail was also pretty good. A lovely meal and friendly staff made this a very pleasant experience. I'll definitely be back for more Italian food.

Had a great post London Marathon meal at Osteria Toscana . The menu was varied and food delicious, wine /service excellent + atmosphere vibrant. What made it extra special was our gregarious waiter Pasquale. Highly recommend.

Food was excellent, i had the carpaccio and the lemon sole. place was packed, fantastic atmosphere. Service was a tiny bit slow but understandable for how busy it was and it was as quick as it was needed

Had to wait outside in the cold for our reservation for 15+ minutes. The food was okay, although not a lot of choice for vegetarians. Quite a loud restaurant due to the number of people in the small space. Staff were friendly.

One of the best dining experiences we have had lately. It really excels in all areas. The food was fantastic - if you like truffle then there really are so many options to get your fill. There are a really good range of options and justifies the price tag. Just worth noting for anyone looking at prices on the website they are a little out of date and a couple quid higher on a number of food items. The drinks prices are the same and they were top notch too - Aperol Spritz is always a winner. The staff are all so friendly, really attentive and helpful in their recommendations. Loved it so much have booked to come again for dinner in 2 weeks.

Nice people, good starters and decent mains. The dessert was just HORRIBLE though and everything is definitely overpriced for what it is. Another two (not major but definitely annoying) things were: 1) Not even a bread with oil or nibbles while waiting for food (as in literally all the other Italian restaurants everywhere) 2) No place to change a baby. Would not recommend overall considering the prices.

This cosy and traditional Italian restaurant was perfect in every way. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the wine was excellent and the manager and waitress were both friendly and attentive. 10/10 will go again.

Excellent New Year’s Eve dinner My partner surprised me and treated me to a very special Italian meal for the last day of 2022. Highly recommended - food was delicious and a very original presentation. Atmosphere was joyful and friendly. Amazing food, very friendly and welcoming staff! Our favourite Italian in South West London! Family owned and reasonably priced, we have been going to Osteria Toscana for years. Over this time we have had almost every dish on the menu. The Burrata and the Beef Carpaccio are absolutely delicious and the fried crispy courgettes are the best I’ve had! Black Truffle Ravioli is rich and creamy and the portions are hearty, especially on the pasta and fish dishes. You have to try the Tiramisu! My personal favourite is the Panna Cotta which is creamy and perfectly paired with the berries. The Primitivo is a must! Thank you for a great evening… as always!

Although the menu appeared small the choices were good. The Lobster linguini was excellent as was the tiramisu.

Had the privilege of discovering this gem whilst staying in Clapham. Was so good we ate two consecutive nights. Every dish was faultless. We cannot wait to eat here again when next in London. Superb!

All the action seemed to be elsewhere this Saturday lunchtime in Abbeville Road a sort of miniature version of Battersea’s Northcote Road for the burghers of Clapham proper (SW4) as opposed to the pretend Clapham of the misnamed railway junction (SW11). The action judging by the quality of the food and service we experienced needs to move here. A shared fried calamari starter had some of the crispiest squid on offer anywhere and a far cry from rubbery versions offered elsewhere. For mains a risotto with scallops coloured a lush Green through the use of mushy peas tasted as good as it looked. A caciucco described as a fish soup was a generous selection of mussels, clams, pieces of salmon and white fish with giant prawns in a tangy brown gravy. A selection of desserts rounded off a memorable meal nicely.

Wasn’t looking for an Italian but we were glad we did. Food was delicious, service was wonderful and the price was fair for the quality. Will definitely be back

Traditional osteria with good quality food and amazing service. I had a delicious linguini nero di sepia with crab and the tiramisu was good enough to ask for a second one. The waitress was helpful and very kind entertaining my little daughter when she wasn't busy. We will come back and recomend.

Classic 'Italian' in Clapham. Abbreviated because, like many others, it's nothing like being in Italy but is at an decent standard for London. Expensive but decent food and service. It's a far cry from Nonna's kitchen but it'll do nicely for the English

Every time we go here, Lydia and her wonderful team are there with the biggest smiles greeting my partner and I by name and remembering our favourite drinks… an Aperol Spritz and a Disaronno Latte! The food is wonderful and I can vouch for most as we’ve been slowly working our way through the entire menu. We’re lucky enough to live local but if you’re passing by then you should definitely stop in here for some good authentic Italian food! Bon appetito!

I have visited this Italian restaurant a few times now and can honestly say I have never been disappointed. The food is spot on and beautifully presented. On each of my visits I've had something new. The scallops, lobster risotto, octopus are all delicious. I have yet to try any meat but my son always opts for the lamb and says it's succulent. This is the only restaurant that I have 3 courses - the desserts, panacotta is my favourite, are all delicious. The staff are very welcoming and professional - they are also one of the smartest dressed waiters I've seen for sometime! The restaurant itself is clean, and tastefully decorated and tables are not on top of each other so you can have a conversation without the neighbouring table overhearing every word. Highly recommended.

Booked for a weekend break to remember happy days when these premises housed one of the first Abbeville Rd italian restaurants in the 1980s and 1990s. Happy to report that in this new incarnation it is still thriving and offering excellent fare with a friendly helpful service. Enjoyed the calamari and beef carpaccio followed by seafood spaghetti and carbonara. All delicious, as was the wine. Just bring back the smoked mozerella, Parma ham and rocket starter from the old days and we will be back in a flash!

Late dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was tasty, service was also good. It is not cheap. So it is a good cost benefit.

Never expected Clapham to have a hidden gem like this place, very cute traditional Italian perfect for a date night or family meal , only real criticism would be that the tables are a bit close together so sometimes getting up can be difficult - I had the gnocchi Gorgonzola and courgette fritters and a lovely cocktail, attentive staff :) will come again

The best Italian restaurant in London. Great food and great atmosphere.

It's not often I enjoy every course of my meal, but I had a starter, main and dessert and enjoyed each one. Dined with my 12 year old son who had the lamb chops which he enjoyed thoroughly. I had the lobster and halibut risotto which was recommended by our waiter for main, panna cotta - scrumptious - for dessert and the octopus for starter. All courses were delightful. If I had to pick a fault just for the sake of it, I'd say the octopus was slightly chewy but that's my taste. The service was top notch. The waiters are dressed very nicely, obviously experienced in what they do as we were greeted politely, given time to look at the menu, food served correctly (no leaning over drinks), and left us alone to eat (sorry, pet hate of mine if waiters keep asking, if everything's okay, etc.) The restaurant itself is pleasant in regards to décor. Can't wait to return as I want to try the scallops!

We had two truly wonderful meals here. All of the starters we had were great, with the Parmigiana di Melanzane being a particular highlight, certainly one of the best I've had. The mains were also delicious, the T-Bone Steak for two was cooked perfectly, also, both the Gnocchi and Lemon Sole were delightful. Each of the desserts we had were lovely, and the Panna Cotta was also one of the best I've had. I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough, definitely worth a visit or three!

We stopped by here once a month or so ago, without a reservation and when the staff were having lunch. They nevertheless accommodated us outside and looked after us tremendously. Alfonso is a star, very charming and attentive guy. He gave us excellent suggestions for wine and food. I recommend this thoroughly and will be back.

The table setttings were crisp and clean with spacious seating. Our waiter Alphonso was very warm and welcoming. Everything he recommended was delicious & we thoroughly enjoyed our evening for a reasonabe price. I would highly recommend this local treasure.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The food is over-seasoned, overpriced, and frankly disgusting. That's not why, though. This restaurant actually tried to scam a table of customers for £48. They refused to accept a payment of £40, that was removed from my bank account, and demanded we pay again. They then, while this argument was going on, overcharged my friend £8 for his part of the bill. The manager quickly lost his cool during this exchange, and openly insulted/berated me, in front of an entire load of customers. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COSTS.
