Best almond croissant I’ve ever had, and very good coffee. For £12 a sandwich has to be exceptional, and to be honest I found the sausage sandwich okay at best. The likes of a Dal Fiorentini does similar focaccia sandwiches with excellent ingredients for £8-£12 with much bigger portions. I’ll definitely be back for the pastries!

I recently visited Italo Deli in London, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots! They offer different sandwiches daily, always with a veggie and non-veggie option, plus a plate or salad. Each sandwich is served in the fluffiest focaccia you can imagine. I tried a Courgette Sandwich and this definitely my kind of summer sandwich! The atmosphere is great, especially on a sunny day. The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying your meal. The coffee is fantastic, and they have pastries too. I had a cardamom bun which was great. There were also almond croissants which looked delicious. If you're craving a good sandwich and ready for a surprise that never disappoints, Italo Deli is definitely a go-to spot in London.

Had been wanting to go here for awhile. Nice little local deli. Tables outside. Great value find in a tucked away street near vauxhall. Recommended.

Very torn on this review as I used to love this place, I was local to the area and my wife and I would regularly visit and the community vibe and bohemian spirit was a highlight for us in Vauxhall. However, we returned yesterday and we were very disappointed with the service. We visited on Wednesday morning and very loud rap music was being played inside which felt very jarring considering most visit Italo for a bit of tranquility away from the busy surrounding area. We were with our two young children so asked politely if the music could be turned down slightly to which the waitress responded very rudely and arrogantly, eventually agreeing to turn the music down by a fraction (still extremely loud). We also noticed she was quite rude to a delivery driver and made no effort to accomodate a delivery made which was dumped in the middle of the floor. The whole atmosphere felt off and also the shop felt more run down (front window has been broken for over a year now). I hope with a bit more care and attention and with employing friendly staff that Italo can return to what it once was. Will try again next time i'm in the area and change this review if I do have a better experience as I appreciate this could have been a one off

Awful tasting espresso, average sandwiches that took 20+ mins to make. Had to actually go back to the counter and ask if they were ready to be told they just finished making them but had clearly been sat in the back waiting for some time while staff spent more time chatting to customers. Male member of staff was pleasant enough when we ordered but the female member of staff who took our payment and made our coffees was extremely rude. Would not return.

Decent food, good coffee, and a charming atmosphere—unfortunately overshadowed by the abundance of hateful slogans, posters, and flyers. Disappointing to be unable to enjoy a peaceful, non-political Sunday afternoon in an otherwise lovely Italian deli.

Expensive £11 sandwiches but they are very tasty and atmosphere is nice and cosy if you can get a table. Quite small, not many seats in the cafe. Basement is not very nice.

Great little cafe a hop, skip and a jump from the hustle and bustle of London/Vauxhall. Nice atmosphere, food was nice. I had the sausage roll, my friend had the frittata. As coffee goes in London, it was good here as well. If there’s no seats inside, or outside. There’s some seating just across the road near the park. Was a nice place just to chill and relax before doing some sight seeing.

I think the atmosphere kind of makes up for the food. The food is by no means bad. The ingredients are clearly great quality, but the sandwich I had was a bit too 'bread heavy' if you will. We took the food away so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely seating area. I thought service was just OK, the food took a long time (15+mins) to come, even though it was just 2 sandwiches. Again the standout feature is the atmosphere and generally the sort of 'neighbourhood cafe' vibe the place has. Definitely much better for a sitting down relaxed catch up or lunch out than as a takeaway lunch spot. That said, the espresso was very good, would absolutely recommend this place for the coffee.

Unfortunately arrived in the middle of the day and hungry. Lots of people, queue nowhere to sit. After waiting for fifteen minutes we left. Very cozy environment, quiet and green among the houses. The new hip.

No estaba contento con el servicio de almuerzo en el Italo el viernes 9 de agosto. Pedí la tarta de calabacín como versión vegetariana. Quitaron el prosciutto para hacerlo vegetariano, pero no agregaron un reemplazo para tener en lugar del prosciutto. Pagué el mismo precio que por la versión de carne, pero me dieron menos comida en el plato. También pedí un expreso doble. El camarero sacó la taza con los dedos apretando sobre el borde donde necesitaba poner los labios para beberla. Antihigiénico. También derramó el café, por lo que la taza estaba en un charco de café sobre la mesa de madera. Le pregunté dónde estaba el platillo, y me dijo que no había platillo. Es una verdadera pena sobre este mal servicio porque la comida era agradable. No voy a volver por la forma antihigiénica de servir café y sentirme estafado con la cantidad de comida en mi plato.

I live in the neighborhood, have gone to this cafe numerous times. Coffee and food are pretty good. NOT worth the bad vibes and poor service from the staff there. Despite me being perfectly polite and pleasant. What gives???! Every time, I so want to like this place, but I just can’t. Has ruined my day on occasions - I no longer go. There are far friendlier Italian cafes and delis nearby.

Had no idea this place existed and what a find. Like a genuine Italian deli, with a tiny menu and high quality food. The best decorations I've seen in a London cafe too. Right up my Strada.

Lovely environment, very quaint coffee shop. Coffee wasn't bad, the barista was in a mad rush (very busy) and didn't do the basics of good espresso and milk.

Nice food and coffee, well worth a visit and it's in a lovely location away from the hustle and bustle of Vauxhall. Very popular and seemed to run out of sandwiches as we'd arrived , but there were nice cake and savoury options. Small inside but there's plenty of seating outside, plus a nice Pleasure Garden opposite which has lots of seating or picnic options.

It is difficult to find a place in London where you could feel at home as Italo. The food is always original, chefs have the ability to mix good ingredients in a tasteful and creative way. In the shop one could find the best of Italian supply, the atmosphere is extremely friendly and the staff always very kind. The decor has a great personality. And if the weather is good one could enjoy the quietness of Bonnington square

Good local coffee shop. By 1;30pm they had run out of most food and cakes. My lunch was a bit limited. It's pretty chaotic, but nice for that. If you live locally, you'll love it

Quite a disgrace and an insult to Italian culture. It has nothing of the warm and friendly Italian way of welcoming people and offering good food. Cappuccino was bog standard and expensive, the pastry was from Little Bread Pedlar, a bakery that stocks almost every high end cafè in London, the focaccia was hilariously burnt and dry. Apart from the Asian lady who was actually working and greeting customers in a nice way, the staff was lazy and unfriendly. The area inside is poorly decorated and distasteful. Definitely NOT a place I would call Italo.

Little delicatessen with very friendly staff and good quality food. The menu is different every day. Pastries, baking goods, sandwiches, soups, frittatas were on the menu today. You can buy fresh drinks, hot beverages with vegan milk option and italian consumables. I recommend!

We visited for the amazing sandwiches served from 1200 noon each day. There seems to be rotating options each week (one meat based, one vegetarian), made with fresh ingredients and focaccia bread. There are some limited seating options inside (around three-four tables), along with more seats outdoors.

Italo is a cute local neighborhood cafe and deli that is very easy to miss, but don’t walk by it without getting good and creamy coffee and a sweet cardamom bun! The interior is cosy and well decorated, it is definitely a cool vibe and worth a visit! I came right after it opened at 10:30am and there were already people having coffee and chatting. Just not there is only one table available inside, but options to sit outside if the weather allows.

Tried the vegan sandwich from Italian yesterday and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, the dressing was super delicious and made the veg taste special. Bought some grocery as well and they are high ends. Staffs were nice and helpful.

My daughter discovered this little gem in Vauxhall. Take a wander around Bonnington Square and then have a sandwich and a coffee from at Italo.

Ahhh stumbled across this wonderful deli/cafe and am planning for my next visit. This roasted oyster mushroom sandwich with smoky garlic & lovage butter bean purée and a chive fried egg was dreamy✨the focaccia was so bubbly!!! The interior was so cozy!!! Perfect for all seasons

What an absolute beautiful little gem of a place. I can't say enough about this place - the location, the great vibes, the ambience, the great service, the great food, and so many other little touches that make this five stars. I would suggest you just go there and see it for yourself. We're in London for two weeks, and I'm pretty sure we'll make an excuse to swing by every day. That is saying something when there's so many other great food options in the city (London).

A gem of a spot in the Vauxhall area. Their sandwiches live up to the reputation, and i love that the menu changes regularly. The vibe and music is great, and service is pretty past even when they are rammed during weekend brunch times.

This little cafe has a fantastic vibe, I loved the food, the cappuccino was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. By London standards it wasn't expensive, it was a fair price.

Visited on a Sunday. Queues out the door (which several people gave up on because it was taking so long). I waited 50 minutes for a sandwich, so I went in to investigate where it was. Turns out it had been sitting on the side unclaimed for 30 mins+ even after we'd repeatedly asked them if it was coming and they said it was on the way. A nice setting but poor customer service.

Lovely lunch, wonderful venue and really friendly staff. The location is right by a park, and you truly feel as though you're not even in London. This cafe seems to be a favourite of people living locally. The chef told me they get customers that come for lunch every day. Highly recommend this relaxing, delicious deli.

Stunning sandwiches. This has become a go to place for a real treat on a Friday lunch. The sandwiches are so delicious I haven't tried anything else. As they do a meat one and a vegetarian one it takes all the decision making out of your hands. You know it's going to be good. I'd recommend eating in as it's on a lovely street with seats all about. If you can try and get there early as a queue does build up. Highly recommend going to this place for lunch.

Slow service and the sandwich looked great but I found it overly salty.

Italo has to be one of the best kept secret I'm London. Those who know, love it for the welcome you get as soon as you walk through the door. I never leave there without a smile, and Charlie is the best. The wine is fabulous (the food is good too) the atmosphere is great and you always leave with a memory that makes you happy Long may you reign xxxx

4:25pm on a Friday and this place is either permanently shut or couldn’t be bothered to stay open till 6 as advertised

Food was nice, but the prices are too steep. Shave a few quid of the price of your sandwiches and hot food and I will happily come back

Fantastic brunch menu, great coffee! There's always a veggie option. An incredible community asset. A wonderful atmosphere, lovely food, coffee, and staff. If you live in the area, I can't recommend a visit enough.

Came on a Saturday around 2pm to get a sandwhich, one was already sold out so we got the sandwhich with tomatoes, onions, garlic labneh and a chive fried egg. The wait ended up to be around 30mins (they said 15-20 mins). When I went in to ask, the waitress wasn't exactly nice about it. For £9.5 it was pretty small, it was tasty but not mind-blowing. The café itself is really cute though, the atmosphere outside on a sunny day is pretty good. Would consider coming back to try the coffee, wouldn't get a sandwhich again though.

Lady who’s a bit big and has curly ish hair and glasses was very rude. Very poor customer service skills. Should really consider rehiring as this place is wonderful and the beverages are great

I’ve been on the search for a really good veggie sandwich. Sandwiches are my thing, but finding a good veggie one is hard to do, but I’ve bloody done it. Unfortunately my bank account is going to take a hit as I’m going to have to come here every week. Coffee wasn’t very good but I wasn’t there for that.

A nice tea and pain au chocolat in a pleasant Italian cafe, tucked away near the Kennington Oval. Small inside, but outside seating in a pleasant square.

Beautiful cafe with an amazing ambience. Everything looked amazing, however I expect the sandwiches to be way better for the price I paid. I am being generous giving a 4 star as I probably won’t return at those prices
