Pret a Manger in City of London, Westminster

Coffee was good. You might want to hold it until your next stop, the restroom experience was not pleasant...

Crowded, broken bathroom, quick coffee, you can't enjoy it.

Very quick efficient and polite service.

Last Saturday afternoon we bought two toasted sandwiches a cappuccino and a water. The coffee was only half a cup and the sandwiches were overdone, dry and hard to swallow. The woman serving didn't want to be there and the place needed a clean. A queue for the one toilet though the place was practically empty. Not what I'd expect from Pret and £17 we would rather have spent else ware.

Without praise or blame. Fast food. You get full.

The food was fresh and delicious, but we found dirt everywhere: on the floor, on the stairs, on the table and chairs, in the bathroom. It wasn't a good experience.

Great and reasonably affordable place for coffee, sandwiches and toilet 😉 is sometimes hard to find in this big city!

The staff is generally the worst I have ever experienced. The manger is incredibly rude and shouts (regularly) at customers. I work close by and I have a subscription so will carry on coming here but if you can avoid, please do!

It was very cold and I wanted something to eat and get warm. The staff were very friendly and the Tuna Cheese melt was delicious.

I do love a pret and avoid other coffee shops but the sandwiches are becoming a rip off. Prices go up and the filling goes down.

Pret @ Tothill St. has become my regular coffee shop over the past year, and over that time I have received nothing but stellar service. Hats off in particular to Shukla, Avi, and Utsal (I hope I spelled them right) for always being professional in everything they do. The other regular staff I see are also very good at what they do, but I haven't seen/heard their names yet. Coffee is consistent (even in busy hours) and wait times are short. Staff are attentive - during my experience, if they see a guest waiting for slightly too long, they check in to see if it's something they have missed (we're all human). On those few-and-far-between occasions, despite the large volume of other guests, I waited for no more than 10 minutes total. Clientele is mostly tourists, as this part of London is like that, and nearby working professionals. In my experience, toilets are kept clean and are passcode-secured, so you must ask for it beforehand. The passcode does also change regularly. I have never seen an item out of stock - the kitchen staff also do their jobs well, as I have also never found an issue with the food. Occasionally very popular items are unavailable, but that's difficult to avoid. On these occasions staff have been apologetic and have asked for a different preference, or in my case have recommended something I have previously ordered and enjoyed. Being a pret, it has decent vegetarian/vegan options, both in food and in milk alternatives. I very much recommend this cafe.

It's what you'd expect. Premade food ready to go. Some room inside to eat in case you prefer to sit down. Not too expensive and decent food.

This branch is relatively small although it has seating areas, up and downstairs. It was fairly busy with mainly with tourists on my visit. The service here was slow with only three staff members on service at the time. The refreshments, wrap, baguette, rolls and the fillings was good quality, freshly made and flavoursome. Disappointingly the restroom was not to the standard of cleanliness that is required.

Regular prepacked sandwiches (that you normally find in vending machines). The apple juice was good, eventhough it was only 250 mL for (I believe) £2,50. But the real problem are the toilets. I've been in London for a few days, visited toilets in subway stations, pubs, airports, but the toilets here were the most filthy of them all. When I told the staff, they shrugged. Unacceptable!

Menjar de qualitat sorprenent per ser preparat. Opció de fruita fresca. Molt recomanable per menjar ràpid i econòmic. Ni ha molts per Londres.

Excellent service and the food was lovely just a bit pricey for what you get

it's a nice rube shake, pretty sure this is a hearing impaired friendly shop, they yell 'ruby shake' with 195 decibel, make sure customer can get what they want, appreciate it.

I had such a bad experience today. I came to have a Feeling Peachy as always (I have the subscription and it’s my favourite drink) and the blonde woman who is the barista in charge, SEFORA, was absolutely RUDE. I asked to make my drink less watery to the cashier Luz María (her service was impeccable and kind) and when she asked the barista to make it in the way I was asking (literally putting less water, not asking for more juice), she aggressively replied “I cannot make it like that because there is only one way of doing it”. After that, the cashier looked at me and apologised for the situation. You can tell that the other members of the staff are not happy because of her presence and I feel truly sorry for them. I hope the company can make a deep change in order to protect the other workers and their mental health.

There’s a faulty fire alarm system in the basement that’s been beeping consistently for a month no one had bothered to get it fixed, a company as big as Pret should be prioritising fire safety

Travelling from overseas I was taken aback at the rude staff here. Can’t be bothered to say hello or thank you or respond in a civil manner. More than happy to take your money for overpriced food and drinks. Stay away.

Hey, I’m visiting in London with my family, some sort of reunion with my brother that we haven’t seen in a year. I’m standing outside in a rainy day because we had such a bad service I had to share. We stopped at your brunch at 49 Tothill St, London SW1H 9LQ, United Kingdomand for a snack and coffee and the service we got was just poor and sad, we tried to ask questioned about the different danish they had there and the young lady at the counter rolled her eyes at us all the time (maybe she isn’t a fan of foreigns) we tried to understand something and again we nearly got answered . We had a mix with the mini desserts we got, we took 3 kinds one of each but for some reason we got only 2 kinds and when we noticed it we asked her and she got so upset she still have to deal with us that she didn’t help and we just decided to leave it and gave up all though it wasn’t what we asked or paid for… We love London a lot and we don’t know when we will be back (we wil be back one day) but during our all trip this was the worst service and experience we had. Too bad for such a big and reliable chain…

Worst Pret ever. Customer service 0. Yells, refused to scan my Pret rewards code, no communication and gave change for 6£ in 20p coins. Absolutely full, tables dirty.

I love the hot wraps at Pret A Manger. With the kids we try to find locations where we can eat in. This one had a small dining area downstairs. Everything was all right, until we needed to use the bathroom. Does this ever get cleaned? The smell alone was enough to prevent us from opening the door. Disgusting!

Awful restaurant. The serving itself was good, but everything was extremely dirty. The tables and chair were covered with food. The toilets had p00p and pe£ all over the place, and looked like they weren’t cleaned for many years. The employees where no help at all, and where so cross, for some reason. Don’t visit this place ☹️

I have a coffee/tea/hot drinks subscription with the Pret chain and am often in a rush to get around London. It's so easy and a great time-saver to be able to walk in, order a hot chocolate or organic coffee, beep the QR code, and be out with a nice hot drink in hand within minutes. Staff are friendly and efficient, even during the rush hour.

I popped into this Pret as I like them it’s familiar territory for me, and I had an appointment nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food tasted good albeit the bread was a bit more chewy than I expected. The store was quite busy lots of takeaway customers. Some people seated on Ground level, I decided to eat downstairs. I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent amount of sockets down there as my phone was nearly dead! However luckily I decided not to go to the toilet until when I finished eating! I was so shocked as it was not even 11am and they smelled bad and were trashed. These toilets were unisex toilets there were two of them and both of them were bad. I didn’t bring my phone to the toilet with me so no pictures…no way was I going to risk going back in. Due to this, unfortunately I’ve had to rate this low which I hate to do! I hope to revisit in the summer to see if things have improved by then. All places that serve food need to have regular toilet checks to ensure this does not happen. If I had gone toilet before eating I would have headed upstairs for a refund as it was stomach churning. I eat Pret in various locations and have never seen anything like this!

None of the tables have been wiped off and are all gross. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. And the staff was not very kind or welcoming.

2 girls rude behaviour and disrespectful attitude toward customers . Discrimination against customers. No names on request , no management on site. Never received such kind of service before. Typical branch of Pret. Visited Sunday afternoon. Place was clean. Limited selection of food at this point of day. Few sandwiches left. Croissant was still OK but clearly not fresh. Downstairs area blocked including access to main toilet (so limited to single toilet upstairs). While need to wrap the day is understandable, could maybe still wait for visitors to leave before restrictions of expected service?

I popped in this morning for coffee and croissant. Whilst reading the paper and gazing out the front window I foolishly dropped almost a full cop of coffee on the floor. Embarrassed I went to the counter and asked for a mop so I could clean it up. The staff were brilliant and told me to return to my seat as they cleaned up immediately and replaced my coffee. Absolutely brilliant staff

I use Pret daily but not after today , burnt to toastie cold coffee refused to refund or exchange even though they knew they messed up by forgetting me , I’ll be using another brand from now on

I was quite annoyed with my experience and now I've had time to think about it, I'm really angry. I went into the Pret Store on Tothill Street SW1. Ordered our drinks and a cake and I asked where the toilet was, the man told me downstairs and I moved away as there was a queue. I wondered where I was meant to go toilet as that meant there wasn't an accessible toilet. As I put sweetener in my tea I spotted the accessible toilet. So gave my stuff to my husband and got my Radar key out. I let myself in the toilet whilst the man working there started telling my husband that I cannot use the toilet. I went in anyway and whilst I was in there my husband said that I can use it to the staff member as I have a radar key. The staff told him I couldn't use it as its not a customer toilet, my husband said I can as its a disabled toilet to which the male staff told my husband that 'she isn't, she doesn't look disabled'. I came out of the toilet, got my coffee, drank it and left feeling humiliated. I have a radar key for a reason. Later on I went to the theatre and was personally greeted, was offered assistance and treated with dignity which further emphasised how badly I was treated in Pret. I am disguted with being loudly shouted at that I couldn't use a disabled toilet in front of a very busy Saturday afternoon in Pret.

I like this pret most times. I get my hot drinks quickly and they are usually good. My only problem is the sweet greens smoothie. It is never blended enough. If you look at the picture I attached there are so many bits of some white substance(which I can’t find on the ingredients list because the mango is usually an orangish-yellow) and it’s not the first time. I cannot enjoy the drink properly like this.

Love a Pret but this was so dirty and unloved - no one was clearing up so all tables were covered in mess, toilets were disgusting - obviously under staffed and a bit of a mess

Had a meeting at the ImechE around the corner so popped in for coffee and sandwich both were OK and entry of choice, nearly had the soup as was a very cold day. Queues were long but a trick is if you pay cash you get straight to that till as everyone else were paying by card.

Today i bought sandwich avo black olives. The sandwich was fermented. So i just inform staff. She didnt react much, she took from me and throws to the bin. When i step back ang go away the staff call me if i want something else... is normal? She didnt ask if i feel good nothing....

Like most Prets, feels like a halfway house or bus station. Sort of. Good service but cost has gone up.

Had the matcha latte and cappuccino (both hot), cappuccino was very subpar and the matcha latte was inedible (tasted like a coconut syrup mixed with fake matcha flavoring) we were in a rush so couldn’t wait for them to remake it , had to throw out. The free coffee at our hotel was better.

I had a ham and cheese toastie and hot chocolate on a weekday morning. Many commuters were calling in. Overpriced. Staff kept gettjng coffee orders wrong and were very slow. You can eat at tables via barstools.
