Premier Inn Peterborough City Centre hotel in Peterborough

Very friendly reception staff and clean, comfortable rooms as per the usual Premier Inn standard. There are some rooms on the ground floor, very handy if you have mobility issues. The onsite bar didn't open until 5.30pm, but luckily Charters bar is a short walk across the river and has a lovely outdoor seating area if it's good weather. The Thyme restaurant was pretty poor quality, but we made do as we didn't want to head into the town centre. We were strongly encouraged at check in to book a table for dinner, but there were only a couple of other tables in all evening. The onsite car park is £14 per stay (up to 24 hours) using a discount code from reception. Pay at the machine before departure. To access the hotel by foot there is a pedestrian crossing from the bottom of Bridge Street (this is not apparent on Google Maps) which brings you into reception from the opposite side to the car park.

We booked this hotel for a wedding and had a party of around 20 staying at the hotel for 1 night and 11 for 2 nights. The first night we went to the restaurant in the hotel and the staff were incredibly rude to family members and myself about the inconvenience of having a large group eating there. When the food came out there were wrong orders that came out and they made out it was our fault. The next morning for breakfast went off no worries but the second morning they once again were rude to family members stating that we needed to pre-book the night before (due to our numbers) and when we said to them by the time we got back from the wedding there was nobody there to book it with so that was impossible. All in all service was abysmal, food was standard but the rooms were comfy

A great premier inn for visiting the cathedral. The location is on a roundabout but it does have a car park for use (around £14 for 24 hours). We had dinner there and enjoyed a lovely meal. The breakfast the next day was a bit lacking, as it didn’t seem to have been replenished.

Had a problem with parking and Lina made it less of a problem. Easy to sort and also made me laugh whilst sorting. Great service with amazing personality. The rooms are clean, the beds comfy. My room also has a bath which is a massive bonus!

Poor food for breakfast. Long waits for food and some food was cold. Lovely hotel but shame about the wait . Really lets it down

Horrible experience in terms of getting my invoice for my stay. They have a really irritating customer service where they ask for my credit card information to release my invoice. It feels like a scammy hotel chain overall where I have to call them 5 times for my own invoice. Reaching them via email is not possible.

It's decent enough for an over night stop over... but the paid parking is extortionate!! £14.00 for over night!!!

The perfect base in Peterborough at a reasonable price. Premier Inn delivered on their promise of a comfy bed and a good shower. The hotel was in a good state of repair and clean. Great location too. I would highlight that the staff I interacted with were excellent. The lady who checked me in, the gentleman who served me at the bar on the first night, the other gentleman who seemed to do everything (reception, breakfast, etc). The shower in my room had a small problem that the temperature knob was stuck. I reported it and it was fixed that day.

Really friendly staff. Location is perfect for city center. Will definitely be back next year.

The hotel is kept to a high standard. Car parking out the front is payment parking, even for Blue badge travellers! land owed by different controlling company to Premier Inn. 24 hours 16:00. However as instructed by the reception manager, each time you leave this car park, another charge on return??. Surrounding car parks are council controlled. The Lido car park a little walk away was our best option. Why?, because total cost 7:50 and that was using a Blue Badge. This car park gave a free one hour for Blue badge users. Back to hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy, basic provision, kettle etc. No issues with the room. Food was of a good quality. Make sure you order breakfast, as the queue and busy (9 am). Food cooked, breakfast was well cooked, and tasty, eggs poached or fried. All was hot and fresh tasting. We were hosted by: Lorraine, Kate and the chef, John. Made welcome and could not do enough for us, our gratitude for the kindness shown. Overall a great place to stay and explore the Roman town and architecture of Peterborough, under estimated place of interest. Car parking though while available is expensive and all have different tariffs, read the signage or ask! The hotel allows 20 minutes for drop off of luggage.

We came for breakfast. The service was lovely. A warm welcome from Kate and Lorraine. Attentive service and lovely breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Would recommend!

Great hotel in lovely central location. Great breakfast in morning. Lovely clean room. Only minor complaint would be that the shower needed more pressure.

Walked in only for a pint and was greeted by Peter(Kenyan flag badge) what a guy!! Like walking through your front door at home grabbing a beer from the fridge and chilling.... Thanks Peter and all the best!!! An amazing host👌👌👌

It's nice and quiet the shopping centre is literally two minutes away everything you need.

Lina was welcoming and very helpful when helping me figure out how to work out how to park? It was so confusing but I’m guessing that’s how the car park company make money. Anyway, with the exception of Satans car park. The rooms were clean and comfy. 5 stars for Lina and her sense of humour. 5 stars for the rhubarb and raspberry gin too!

I don't think I've ever wanted to leave a review for a Premier Inn, until now... I've been here around two weeks for work and (apart from terrible wifi) everything has been great! Lina from my very first night has been so lovely, helpful and great to talk to! She has been the highlight of my stay! The food at dinner was surprisingly great and the service from Lina and Donna was just the right balance of friendliness but leave you to yourself. There was another lovely young man working some nights but I missed his name, he was very helpful with an issue I had with my booking. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming up here!!

A great hotel situated in the city centre ideal for local restaurants. The staff were all very helpful especially Lina who has a great sense of humour and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast staff included Kate who was also very good at making me feel comfortable the food was surprisingly good actually and my stay was altogether enjoyable. Would recommend.

A much needed place to rest my head where the staff were anything but automatons. Friendly and helpful staff Lina and Dom were able to look after my needs despite very difficult circumstances and a nightmare journey. Clean spacious room with all facilities and felt like very good value for money especially at such short notice. Am enjoying the calm and quiet restaurant and the family like atmosphere of the place.
