A very comfortable environment, the service was impeccable and I would highly recommend. And as always the food was incredible.

So good, we went back the following week! This is 100% one of my favourite places to go out to eat. The food is superb and the staff are really friendly. On a Wednesday, they do a 3 course meal at a discounted price which is great value for money. The interior is nice and comfortable, maybe a little dated but the food and the service is what makes this place special. My husband and I have been twice already and I’m really looking forward to our next visit.

We were the only diners and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful my friend ordered a curry not realising it would be so hot she asked waiter for yoghurt or water and he said no problem I will get you the same dish but milder which he did and it was lovely, a very kind thing to do, he then went on to explain the hot curry's to look out for. We were not rushed and had a lovely evening.

Curry was watery and very bland no spice or flavour. Waited 45 mins for two curry’s sat like a lemon and no communication or apology for wait.

This is my go to Indian I travel 2 hours there and back for it. Service and a great. And the food is yummy.

2 hours for delivery, poor communication, staff member not helpful when we chased the order, two dishes very very oily, not as hot as we would expect, probably due to the delayed delivery. Wouldn't order again.

It's been a while since my last visit. The staff were nice however it seemed dark and uncomfortable inside. Ordered the railway curry and tikka which were nice however the korma was cold and bland and the chicken dry. 2 orders of rice were small and cold, dry and hardly fed 5. Bread was nice however the papadoms were soft and obviously nice fresh. Unfortunately we were overall disappointed 😞. The price did not reflect the meal we received at £60 it was expensive and disappointing.

Absolutely fabulous dining experience for all our family aged 7 to 65. Staff are very attentive and courteous. All our meals were prepared fresh and were tasty ! Reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere too!

Nice curry portion sizes good ,railway curry was nice ,only one chap serving everyone and fairly busy would go again

Atmosphere was ok service was average we was disappointed as it was a restaurant we used to love the food was so bland almost tasted watered down.. expensive these days will not be returning after 10 years of going

Some really interesting chinese/indian fusions on the starters - vegetable manchurian came in a sticky soy glaze with finely diced bell pepper and onion. The chicken momo was an indian inspired take on chinese dim sum- with a peanut and soy dipping sauce. The railway curry ( which is why we visited in the first place) scored 10/10 from my hubby who said it was the best he had ever had. Only suggestion would be to let the onions and peppers on the cast iron sizzler, cook for longer so they have a char to them - mine were a bit too raw for my liking.

We haven’t ordered from Maharani's for a while so we thought we’d give them a go. We ordered food via delivery from their website which was quick and easy to do. Food arrived piping hot and it was really tasty with generous portions. Of particular note was the chat puri, being a starter it was a decent portion size and extremely good!. Naan bread wasn’t too thick and properly garlicky. The balti and jalfrezi tasted awesome, we were both left feeling very full but delighted.

Great food, we've ordered a few times now and they have never disappointed! Update: The Rara Ghost is my new favourite curry ever. Highly recommended..

I've had mixed experiences with this place over a 22 year period as it's on my doorstep. I think it was at its best in the early years tbh as food quality seems to have deminished in recent years...it's not bad but not great!

Arrived late and tasted bad. Naan was soggy n pot pickled onions were not fresh, going brown. Wouldn’t get it again

Great take away choices easy parking when collecting

We frequent the various curry houses in Peterborough on a regular basis as well as going into London for the Michelin star curry offerings, add to that half our family originates from Pakistan, indirect way of saying we know our stuff when it comes to this type of food! After being hugely disappointed with certain restaurants going downhill, rapidly, and increasing their prices, substantially we thought we'd try Maharanis. I'm not sure why but its never really been on our radar. We turned up last Friday without a reservation and got seated quickly. To keep it brief, the curries... out of this world. Whatever chef you had cooking on Friday, do not ever let them leave. Unique, tasty and fresh. Not your standard English-ified bland curries like every other restaurant in Peterborough. Last year we spent some time in Sri Lanka and the food was on-par with that, really unique and special. Keep up the good work. I would have given 4 stars rather than 5 but the mains are just too good, the reason I'd have knocked a star off: - Pickle tray - No pickle in it! Please add a pickle and remove the weird ketchup. - Poppadoms - Slightly stale unfortunately. - Glasses - Not 100% clean, slightly off putting. As I said though, the flavours experienced here are like nothing else in Peterborough, I can't not give 5 stars!

Had a takeaway meal from here recently. Really enjoyable Railway curry - tasty and plenty of tender chicken. Portions very good. Will be back.

Terrible restaurant, toilets are dirty and dated . No baby change at all. Food took ages to arrive. Tried to pass off a lamb chop as steak 🤮 never again.

Update: We went for another Wednesday evening for the specials and it's such a good deal. First 2 pics was taken last week. Went there yesterday a week later after our last visit. Our food was served fast on a busy Wednesday curry night. Always never disappoints and went home happy after eating 🤣. Serving is big I couldn't finish it so I had to take home some of it and ate it as my midnight snack now I can sleep peacefully 🤣

One of my favourite Indian restaurants. The flavours are nice and much less spicy than your typical Indian restaurant. Although occasionally the flavours are bland and could have a couple more pieces of meat, maybe it's the chef on the day?

This place used to be very good, and flavour-wise still is. However, in the past two months, the pieces of chicken in a curry have got a lot smaller and chicken by weight a lot less, the curry sauce is also much thinner than used to be too. This is also true for lamb and king prawn options. This is shrinkflation; please keep portions the same and increase the price if necessary

We ate in on payday weekend and it was very quiet. The food was average so as expected the restaurant was quiet (only 3 other tables ate in) and worse of all, it was incredibly expensive. I cannot recommend.

We had an Indian experience at this restaurant. Loved the taste. We had orderes Vegetable Manchurian, butter naan and veg kadai (we are vegetarians hence all veg food) .

Fantastic to dine in or take away, highly recommended with a superb menu with amazing tasty dishes.

It’s my husbands birthday tonight so we did a big order for family. It was delivered on time, was absolutely lovely and our only complaint was that one dish was missing which was delivered really quickly. This would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for that but the restaurant rectified it in 10 minutes. Lovely food and thank you.

We have always had excellent food and service at Maharanis. We had booked a table for my birthday tonight but unfortunately my ill health forced us to cancel. We had a meal delivered instead. To say it was delicious is understating it! Our order arrived promptly and hot (temperature wise). Every dish was perfectly spiced. Hopefully we will be able to visit again soon, health allowing . Thank you to Farooq and his superb team.

Superb food, I'm craving it again now! The railway curry was delicious with lots of fresh curry leaves. Garlic chilli king prawns yummy, ladies fingers were tasty and the naan bread was perfect. Thank you all for a lovely evening.

Normally have a lovely curry from here but my fiance has been throwing up all night since eating his chicken curry, he is never poorly but he's been constantly sick. Not happy, won't won't eating from there again.

We are usually very happy with the food & service at Maharanis. We got a takeaway this evening which was very disappointing. The paneer in my dish was definitely past its best & did not taste right. I have had out of date paneer before & this was definitely out of date. The tin foil dishes had plastic lids, which were broken; we had to dish plastic out of our food & our daughter nearly ate a piece! Maharanis is definitely not the quality it was pre-pandemic.

Booked table for 8 at Maharanis in Hampton having previously eaten at their Market Deeping restaurant. Wasn't disappointed, service was excellent, we all had the set menu available on a Wednesday. Excellent value for money. Only letdown by my being served main course 5 minutes after everyone else in my party, this is after reminding them I had not got my main dish. I had ordered chicken Madras, what I was served was a Vindaloo, it was too hot to eat and I did not request an alternate dish as my family had all but finished their meal. It was a good 30 minutes before I recovered any feeling in my lips! They did, however, remove this from the bill. That apart, very nice restaurant, very warm and cosy and great value if you go on a Wednesday. I wasn't put off by this small hiccup, every one of my family enjoyed their meal. Will certainly go again and can thoroughly recommend.

The best place in Peterborough for Indian modern and traditional food with a friendly staff who cater for every occasion.

Has steadily gone down hill over the last few years. Sauces are watery and less meat than a chicken mcnugget. Sadly this will be our last visit.

This is our favourite restaurant. We have been dining here since it opened. Farooq and the staff are friendly and attentive. We have had food delivered during lockdowns and the food always arrives quickly, hot and very tasty. We can't wait to visit again when it reopens.

First time having a Indian from these and it’s the worst Iv ever had. Got so much water no flavour so bland just tastes watery. Was looking forward to this to be disappointed

Got a Take-a-Way from here tonight, and ended up throwing it in the bin. The only things that were edible were the popadoms and the Nan Bread.

Just had a recent renovation with new menu, looks amazing food never disappoints after 15 years of going there. Not a bad price either

So after spending £34 on a meal as a treat I was absolutely disappointed. Cold food No taste apart from salt. After contacting them I got told no manager avaliable and they will give me discount next time. Err no thanks I won't be using you again . I have used you before and food has always been amazing so God knows what happened tonight

Really good food and super filling, only had a few poppadoms and a main and I was filled to bursting. Although I did manage to finish off the thin mint that came at the end. Would happily go back again another time to try other exciting and filling dishes.

I mainly ordered food for takeaways, and must say the quality of food is excellent in terms of taste, freshness, price and portion size. However they can cut down a little on oil. The customer service has been wonderful, very warm and friendly people. Yesterday one of the curries that i ordered was sent wrong and they promptly delivered me right one within no time, despite it was nearing their closing time and they had only one delivery drivers. I would highly recommend it.

We were looking for a new Indian takeaway but unfortunately this is not it. Onion bhajees were not cooked basically mouth full of raw onion and congealed flour. Very salty saag dish. And lamb very tough. Nans were pretty decent and quick delivery (Probably why bhajees wasn’t cooked) 👎

Very busy tonight in the restaurant. I had take out . It took a whole hour from ordering to receiving food . When I got take out home it was only just warm . I had to microwave to warm it up . Tasted great though .

Accessible location with free parking. Warm welcome and non intrusive service. Reasonable prices. Very tasty food, but decor, upholstery and carpets could do with replacing. Tip: use linen serviette to protect white jeans from heavily soiled chairs.
