Overall, our stay was good, and the main reception staff were helpful. However, our low review rating is due to the poor service we received in the breakfast area from a waiter named Mariesa. It felt like we didn’t exist to her—she ignored us and spoke to us rudely. We noticed that Mariesa was cheerful and attentive to all other guests in the restaurant, except us. Unfortunately, we were the only brown, Asian-looking individuals there. For instance, she asked the family at the table behind us, “Are there any allergies we need to know about before ordering?” In contrast, she curtly asked us, “You don’t have any allergies, do you? What’s your order?” The second morning was no better. We were met with the same grumpy, dismissive attitude from Mariesa, while she remained bubbly and joyful with everyone else. My wife had to approach her directly to request hot milk because Mariesa seemed intent on ignoring us. To add to the frustration, we were charged £12.99 for it. While I would consider staying again because everything else was fine, it’s 2024, and no one should have to feel this way. People like Mariesa need to change their mindset or reconsider working in a customer-facing role. Perhaps a role outside of hospitality would be more suitable for her.

Tidy hotel next to an exceptionally busy road. Sirens all night but can't blame hotel for that. Plenty of parking which is free. Would benefit from plug sockets by the bedside tables for those with sleep apnea. Beefeater restaurant attached was good.

Good location, quiet and good staff. Room was clean and the food venue attached was great with vegan options for the evening meal (3 courses) and breakfast the following day.

I’ve been visiting this branch regularly for the past year as the wait times are usually short, and it’s a great place for families. However, I wanted to share two experiences that truly stood out, thanks to one of the staff members, Ashly. A couple of weeks ago, my 3-year-old son, Adam, was sick on the floor as soon as we walked in. Ashly went above and beyond to assist us. She made us feel comfortable and personally cleaned up the mess instantly, showing such kindness and professionalism. I returned last week, and while we experienced a delay of 35 minutes for our starters despite it not being busy, Ashly once again stepped in. She was quick to help, ensured our concerns were addressed, and even provided activities for my three kids to keep them entertained while we waited. Ashly is truly a credit to this branch, and her exceptional customer service keeps us coming back. Thank you for such a family-friendly experience!
