Room and breakfast was a bargain. It is around the corner of the metro centre. And easy enough to find if pulling off the motorway. Rooms are a good size for a couple of nights. My bed was lovely and comfortable. There was a tv, and wifi, but no plug sockets on the bedside. The bathroom has a lovely deep bath and large rain shower head. The hotel is currently being refurbished but it doesn't cause problems. I would definitely come back. Staff are very friendly, but I was disappointed that there were no breakfast muffins. If you like continental breakfast then get up ear5. 12 am departure means you can have a relaxed morning.

Not the best premier inn I've stayed in to be honest, needs some tlc and some upgrades to the rooms etc but overall pleasant enough the bed was still as comfy as they come in premier inns and ultimately that's what you want a good night's kip👍

I had room 118, away from lifts & not next door to staff room, don't be concerned by the pipework as it wasn't noisy at all. The views may never win prizes but very close to metro centre and close to A1. The room was clean and well looked after. Biggest asset is the staff as very friendly and welcoming. Premier Inn now run the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Will stay again.

The room was rather dated and stains on carpets and walls. The staff are excellent which always keeps your spirits high. Location great for the shopping centre. however you are basically land locked as you can't walk ANYWHERE surrounded by carriageways and farms. Need to drive to shopping centre or use taxis.

Good hotel only downside is that it is too far away to be able to walk there so can easily run away with money for taxis. Really friendly staff always willing to help. Large clean rooms, comfortable beds and big fluffy towels. Breakfast is excellent value specially if you've got children as 2 eat free with one adult. Food is buffet and replenished all the time and there's everything you could want. Travelled with my 2 grandsons and this was our 2nd visit and we will return.

Handy for the metro centre - but still requires a car to get there. The hotel is starting to show its age, the rooms lack usb sockets.

Really disappointed with this as visited in the April and loved the place but this time it's massively gone downhill! Not only have premier inn taken over the Brewers Fayre and not mentioned anything (closed the softplay which was devastating for my 2 young ones) then ontop of that the room was truly disgusting, literally if we'd checked in earlier we wouldn't have stayed there! Luckily the staff was helpful and changed our room but even they was appalled in how long the room can't have been cleaned! Sorry to say avoid at all costs.

Nice stop off overnight. Little harder to locate than expected as maps took us the wrong way. Check in was easy. Rooms were as with all Premier Inn. Attatched brewers fayre no longer open to the public. Only for hotel guests so saw some visitors turn up read the notice and leave disappointed. Is perfectly situated for those visiting the metro centre or even for travelling in to Newcastle etc.

The worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed in. We booked a family room and we were squeezed into a std room. The temperature in the room was unbearable, even with a fan. The shower leaked, the toilet seat was loose and dirty, the room wasn't really clean either. The attached restaurant was well below what we have experienced elsewhere in the chain. The staff both in the hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. I'd avoid this particular hotel, it's sub-standard and expensive for what it is. So much so, we left a day early!

It's a premier in, my room was ok I guess on the expensive side really, my mates room was stuck in 2010, location is a bit naff and the pub nextdoor seems pointless. Staff were good though can't knock them and it was clean (as clean as any other premier inn)

Lovely clean rooms, excellent friendly staff and the advertised big comfy bed and quiet room. Restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast was great. Normal pub style grub, but nicely cooked and staff in there were great

Location you need a car to get places or have plenty of money for taxis constantly. First night we didnt sleep with banging above us until 4am. Reported a leak in the toilet, second night we didnt sleep either with the noise of the leak in the toilet.

We were traveling from rotterdam to home in Scotland in our motorhome and found this great hotel that allows motorhomes to park up much like an Ayre. On arrival we were told the bar open till 11pm. We also paid for electric hook up and had breakfast there as well. We took the dog a nice walk after breakfast next to the angel of the north! Staff really helpful and friendly, will certainly keep you guys in mind next time we're on the move!
